    Chocolate cake with coffee cream!

We loved this little taverna. The service could not have been friendlier or more thoughtful. Everything we ate was outstanding. They have typical Greek food like Slovaki and moussaka and lots of fresh dishes meat, fish, salads. Seasonal items abound. We ended with this beautiful ch collate olive oil cake with a coffee merengue cream lightly bruleed. Yum! It is casual and has a warm feeling. It was super busy so be sure to book. We will be back!!! And soon.

Mr. Midnight !! Great twist on the Espresso Martini.

The food was delicious and fresh. I wish we took pics. We cleared our plates. The Gyro and the Falafel sandwiches were just amazing. Exactly what you would look for in an Authentic Greek Reastaurant. The local, fresh salad greens were also so good. The Staff was so polite and friendly. Warm smiles, hot food and great atmosphere. We will be back real soon. So glad we found this gem. Just minutes off the Catskill exit on Interstate 87 North.

I believe this is a relatively new establishment opened by a former Gaskins chef. Our party arrived late to town and there weren't many options opened for us. We came across Phos, which was open until 10pm on a Friday night. Upon arrival, it appeared to be a slightly elevated, but still very comforting and welcoming place to be in -- exactly what we were looking for! They provide a farm to table experience with local and sustainable ingredients from the Hudson Valley. As we perused the menu, we noticed that the food menu itself isn't that extensive; it really was only the last page of the 4 page menu. Menu is subject to change based on the seasonal ingredients though. We opted for a few appetizers to share among the table as well as our own main course: ROASTED CARROT SALAD: I don't like carrots, but I'll give them a chance in hopes that'll change. Most of the time it doesn't, but this salad was amazing! The carrots were tender, buttery and soft. It didn't have the bitter taste anymore and somehow roasting it really brought out its sweetness. The crispy shallots paired with it tied the dish together as well. I'd eat carrots all the time if they tasted like this. GRILLED OCTOPUS: Grilled Octopus is a necessity for me at all Greek-American spots. The octopus was cooked perfectly -- tender and not chewy whatsoever. The sauce on the octopus was absolutely delightful, which was an added bonus for the potatoes to soak in as well. GREEK SALAD: A standard Greek salad. The ingredients were fresh and they gave a generous heaping of feta. This was a refreshing palate cleanser. PITA MEZZE PLATTER: We were given a plate of 4-5 different sauces -- hummus, tzatziki, an artichoke dip, fava beans and another one I'm not too sure about. The dips were all very fresh and well-seasoned, with the tzatziki being my favorite. The pita, which was very pillowy and soft, served as a fantastic vessel for these dips. PAPPARDELLE: This was one of their more popular dishes, which was homemade pappardelle served with braised rabbit. The rabbit was cooked nicely, but I didn't really get much of it in my dish especially being the pricier one of the entrees. I also found the sauce a little too salty on its own. GYRO: This was good, but nothing I would write home about. If you want something safe, this would be your best bet! BRAISED POMEGRANATE CHICKEN: The star of the show! I didn't expect pomegranate and yogurt sauce would complement chicken like this, but holy, I will ponder endlessly about this. The chicken was juicy and moist, but still had some bite to it. I took bites of my friend's dish, but ugh -- I wish I ordered this for myself. This dish is an absolute must! COCKTAILS: Super extensive drinks menu! There are cocktails and mocktails tailored to various preferences. There's also another two pages of spirits and wine to choose from. The espresso martini was delicious! The vanilla bean foam on top is something I still dream about LOL This was a fantastic find, especially in such a charming neighborhood! If I had more time, I would've checked out all the nearby shops on the block. This spot is a stellar middle ground for those who want to grab takeout or sit down and share a meal. Not from the area so I don't know how often I'd visit, but I would definitely go out of my way for a meal here.

New restaurants to the Hudson Valley, especially those close to Hudson (my personal bias) are always welcome. Phos: My Greek-American Kitchen on Catskill's Main Street with its reasonably-priced menu and sharable portions is deserving of a warm embrace. All of our dishes -- Greek salad ($18); Braised Pomegranate 1/2 Chicken ($26); and Grilled Hangar Steak ($37) -- were flavorful and well-presented. Several of the wines-by-the-glass (too many in my estimation) were Greek varietals hewing to the restaurant's cuisine; a laudable departure from run-of-the-mill Italian pinot grigios and overpowering South American cabernets. To be clear, I do thoroughly enjoy verdicchios from Marche and syrahs from Patagonia. While It was smart of the owners to focus on the food, and avoiding lavish spend on the interior, we struggled with the ambient noise at dinner service (Labor Day weekend 2025) and the sparse visual interest in the decor. To me, Phos' overall atmosphere is best described as "unfussy comfort." Even so, both the host and waiter were helpful and attentive and seemed genuine. Phos certainly merits one or more return visits.

    Leaves and cocktail, perfect match!

I'm new to the area and discovering places in Catskill and beyond. Drove past Pho's a number of times and thought it was a Viet Nam soup place. After review here, discovered it was an upscale Greek style chef's kitchen with many Mediterranean dishes. Service was impeccable, Cocktails quite sophisticated; prepared and served with care. Leaves and dressing amazing, fresh farm to table. Moussaka was delicious and enough for two. Well thought out and great presentation by caring staff. Can't wait to go back and discover more of the menu. unquestionably five stars: food, service and ambiance.

My new favorite restaurant in Catskill, NY.

Update: We went back almost immediately because we couldn't stop talking about the first meal, and…read moresomehow it was every bit as amazing. The lamb shank was absurdly tender, the baba ganoush was smoky and rich, and yes, the ezme, beets, and pita remain mandatory ordering. But what really sets this place apart is the heart behind it. On a hard night for our family, a simple unexpected dessert brought genuine comfort and a smile when we needed it most. They don't just feed your stomach here. They feed your soul. I would go to war for this restaurant. An absolute gem, genuinely some of the best food I've had in the area!! I don't write glowing reviews lightly, but this place absolutely earned one. From the moment the food hit the table, it was obvious this was something special. Every single thing we ordered, from the mezze sampler to the drinks to dessert, felt like the best version of itself it could possibly be. Not one weak note. Even the pita bread was memorable. Warm, soft, fresh, lightly charred, and worthy of praise in a meal FULL of standout dishes. The mezze sampler was EXTRAORDINARY. The beet and goat cheese was one of those bites that makes you stop mid-conversation. The goat cheese was fresh, creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced by roasted beets that were unbelievably sweet and luscious. Honestly, they were almost candy-like. I don't know what they did to prepare them, but they were incredible. The spicy vegetable dip, Esme, was bright, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. Fresh, zippy, and balanced with just enough heat. The eggplant dip was equally impressive, with a silky texture, subtle tartness, mellow tomato notes, and that gentle pleasant bitterness that makes eggplant so satisfying when it's done well. The hummus was ridiculously creamy and rich with tahini, giving it a deep nutty flavor that made it one of the best hummus dishes I've personally had. We also ordered the Turkish manti, and they were fantastic. Little handmade parcels topped with cool yogurt and warm spiced oil that brought everything together beautifully. We didn't even manage to take a picture because by that point we were so completely absorbed in the meal that all manners disappeared and we just devoured them immediately. No photo. No pause. Just instinct. That might be the strongest endorsement I can give. The mint lemonade was perfect for a warm day. Bright, refreshing, tart, cooling, and mint-forward without being overly sweet. It tasted clean, balanced, and incredibly refreshing. Dessert completely sealed the deal. The Turkish revani was unbelievably soft, soaked through with milk, and had that luscious almost tres leches quality that makes every bite melt away. The fresh berries and raspberry sauce gave it just enough brightness and acidity to balance the sweetness beautifully. I had a cup of black tea with it, and the combination of cake, berries, and tea was one of those simple little moments that feels kind of magical. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Tasteful decor, warm atmosphere, and thoughtful design that feels welcoming without trying too hard. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine. More than anything, the whole place feels like a labor of love. What blows my mind most is that this restaurant has apparently been here for over two years, and we somehow only just discovered it. We were legitimately mad at ourselves thinking about how many meals we could have had here already. Now we're just trying to make up for lost time!! For roughly $80 for two before tip, the value was outstanding. At first glance, the menu might look a little upscale, but once the food arrives, it makes perfect sense. The quality more than justifies the price. I've had good Mediterranean food before. This is operating on a completely different level. Without question, this is some of the best Mediterranean food I've had anywhere in the area, and I can't wait to go back.

We went for dinner at 6 pm on a Saturday, we thought we were the only ones there, again because of the empty parking lot. There were a few people already seated. We didn't have any reservations, and I thought - Why would we? We started with the appetizers, babaganoush and calamari. Both were good. My wife and I had the mixed platter for two. All the meats were tasty, seasoned well and weren't dry. For dessert, I tried the affogato, espresso over ice cream and that hit the spot. Overall, we were impressed. People did start coming in after 6 so it's best to reserve a table especially if you have more than 4 in your party. The don't serve liquor so it's BYOB!! For some, that might be the important thing to note .

The menu was varied and our food was very good. The best for me was the calamari; I have it very often and in several different restaurants and here it was outstanding! Crispy and tasty! I might have liked a bit more sauce with it, but I didn't think of that until the next day when I reheated my leftovers in my air fryer. I just opened a jar of Rao's and had an extended treat. A real surprise was the Kalamata Shrimp. It was good when I had it hot, but it was terrific when I had it the next day straight out of the refrigerator! A word to the chef: it would make a great cold salad! One taste and I never bothered to heat it up! We had several other dishes and they were all good. The only negative comment I must make is that the New Mexico Twist grilled chicken dish that we ordered to take out to a family member who could not accompany us was completely without chicken! A real disappointment! But, things happen.....I would recommend a visit to Pegasus! Just check your take-out order before you leave......

Heads up that they are CASH ONLY. I ordered the Chicken Shishkabob Plate, which came with chicken skewers, lemon potatoes, Pita, and tzatziki. Everything on the plate was delicious, and the chicken was nice and juicy. It also came with a Greek salad, which is one of my all-time favorites. Most places make it the American way with lettuce, but after visiting Greece, I realized it doesn't have any lettuce. It's cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, olive, and Feta. In the summer, it's especially good because it's light and refreshing. My boyfriend ordered the lamb Gyro, and it was cooked perfectly. Such a delicious meal! We also had a great conversation with one of the staff members, who was so welcoming and appreciative of our business. I highly recommend The Greek House!

Best of luck to the restaurant.
