We love seafood, we are from Washington State and they don't always get scallops right. This place had great scallops cooked perfectly and a good serving size. We ordered a small size. It came with 8 sea scallops, a big baked potatoes and a salad. Good serving of vegetables. More than my wife could eat. I ordered a fried fisherman's platter. It had scallops, oysters, shrimp, class a big piece of fish, with potatoes and vegetables. All cooked perfectly. More than I could eat. All for less than $50. It was a very good meal. read more

The bread before dinner was excellent--warm and fresh tasting. The salad was also very good. I ordered the chicken parm, which was tough and overcooked. While it was prepared nicely, the sauce lacked flavor and the pasta was overcooked as well. The other two people in our party enjoyed both their appetizers and meals. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Stopped in after a long hiatus; I grew up in the area and was visiting. The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired, but it's "country" and comfortable. The menu was varied and our food was very good. The best for me was the calamari; I have it very often and in several different restaurants and here it was outstanding! Crispy and tasty! I might have liked a bit more sauce with it, but I didn't think of that until the next day when I reheated my leftovers in my air fryer. I just opened a jar of Rao's and had an extended treat. A real surprise was the Kalamata Shrimp. It was good when I had it hot, but it was terrific when I had it the next day straight out of the refrigerator! A word to the chef: it would make a great cold salad! One taste and I never bothered to heat it up! We had several other dishes and they were all good. The only negative comment I must make is that the New Mexico Twist grilled chicken dish that we ordered to take out to a family member who could not accompany us was completely without chicken! Food is terrible. I ordered a pasta dish with chicken and my son ordered a burger. The food was bland, it had no flavor. The sauce was watery. The burger tasted like cardboard. How do you mess up a char-broiled burger??? It was like the first time I ate there over 20 years ago. You would think it would improve. read more

Perfect meal, cocktail and service. Thrilled i picked this place during my stay at the nearby Holiday Inn Express. We were famished so i didnt take photos lol. We ordered the fried seafood platter of cod, shrimp, scallops, clams and oysters. All the fish were finely battered and so fresh that the flavors really stood out. The veal marsala was a large plate of two slices and delicious mushrooom sauce. The accompanying soup of the day was Southwestern chicken which was quite tasty, with lovely crusty rolls. I asked for a mild Bloody Mary and it was well made. Too full for dessert, our friendly waitress Bailey suggested we take a short ride to the rivers edge and walk through the park. Took my two sons there for Thanksgiving. There wasn't a smorgasbord, but the plates were served quite full. Tastwise, the Turkey was rather dry, and the stuffing had taste, and was moist. The mashed was cold and could have used more gravy. It was a adequate dinner, but not really worth the $30 per plate. Next year we cook!! read more

First time I have ever eaten here I got two sandwiches today. A muffuletta and a caprese panini. The caprese had buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, some basil, ALOT of prosciutto(dislike this meat), and a balsamic drizzle. I enjoyed the sandwich, it was pretty tasty. However it was no good. About 90 mins after eating, I started to get Ill. Stomach cramps and bloating turned to violent bowel movements. Chills, nausea, dizziness, fatigue; all classic signs of food poisoning. My wife and I have been coming here for years. We loved the place and the food was good, but the last few times we came here , the quality seemed to have declined a bit. The last couple of times haven't been good at all, and the last time we ate there I got food poisoning. Stomach cramps, severe bouts of diarrhea, etc. So we won't be coming here anymore. Food menu was a little limited but surprisingly tasty. There isn't much atmosphere in the bar and seating area and could use a little love with the decor. My friends really enjoyed the food and would go back for the sandwiches. If they spruced up the place and expanded the menu I could see myself frequenting here. Our first time dining here was during Greene County Restaurant week. We made reservations, were greeted and seated quickly. Masks were worn. We all had an appetizer with spanikopita and a cheese filled phyllo pastry. For dinner, I had Jambalaya and my sisters had sage chicken breast with butternut squash ravioli. Everything was delicious. Went on a Sat evening around 7pm. It took them over an hour to bring out 6 burgers, a cold plate of calamari and a kids order of chicken tenders. Five burgers were blue rare, (asked for med-rare to medium). Calamari breading was just flour, no cornmeal. It took another 30 minutes to get 2 of the fixed burgers. They were the original burgers, evidenced by the bite taken out of 1, both were cut in half... But the ketchup was wiped off... Another burger was supposed to have pulled pork on it, but it came with chunks chicken smothered in BBQ sauce. After we were done, we all stood up, put on our jackets and had to ask a random workers to get our check. Took 15 minutes total to get it. They did at least take off the calamari. There were only 2 other tables seated with at most 6 people total. Local friends recommended this place for prime rib, but we couldn't imagine coming here again. read more

Ugh! After trying to have dinner at TWO different places in Athens, NY...we got stuck here. I had decent hopes. But alas, they were shattered immediately by the poor, over made-up, waitresses who had no clue how to welcome diners. The food..well...it was whatever was frozen from sysco and nothing was fresh even though the menu read fresh vegetables. Everything was an old persons night out special. The owners were courtious and friendly, but the service and food, and atmosphere was VERY dated and dusty. And the fact I had to listen to some locals cut up across the restaurant didn't help. Absolutely one hundred percent amazing. We had a wedding reception here and I can't think of a single thing that wasn't perfect. Staying in town for the weekend my girlfriend and I were out and about looking for a decent place to eat. Saw this place was open and decided to give it a shot. We were greeted by an older lady who I believe to be the owner or owners wife. She was extremely pleasant to us. We ordered and payed for our food and waited outside due to the Covid-19 restrictions. We got our meals to go and ate them in our hotel room. The food was AMAZING and really not overly pricy!! We had a gyro tacos appetizer which was phenomenal!! My girlfriend had a broiled stuffed seafood combo that she said was really good. She ate the whole meal which she never does so it must've been good!! I had an asparagus stuffed chicken breast served over penne with a creamy pesto sauce that was out of this world!! The total for everything was only $48 and change. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area!! I know next time we are in town we will be stopping back!! read more

Good service but Terrible food. We decided to try the Pegasus restaurant to try something new in Coxsackie. We arrived on a Saturday night at 7pm and there were a lot of cars in the parking lot so everything looked good. When we entered there was no one in the restaurant. We figured there was a banquet on the other side but being there alone was the first sign this may not be a good choice. We all ordered water and my wife had to pull a long hair out of her mouth. That was sign two. The Calamari was ok not good but not bad. I ordered the lamb chops which were hardly seasoned. I noticed my wife had not really eaten much and when I asked her if she wanted to take it home she said she would to be nice. That is when my daughter and I decided to have some of her sautéed shrimp which looked good. It was the worse shrimp we have ever had. My daughter had not eaten much either as her chicken was rubbery and the pasta was watery. I gave the waitress a tip out of pity, but I am still upset that I had to pay for such a horrible meal. read more

Fried calamari was cooked just right and very large portion...could be a meal in itself. Hubby asked for medium rare lamb chop and they were overcooked. Our friends had the clam chowder which was a large portion and very tasty. One had the chef salad with shrimp and that also was very large. Our other friend had a combo of broiled sea scallops and shrimp and I had the small portion (9) sea scallops broiled. The scallops were cooked perfectly and more than enough for a meal. Beautiful Sunday afternoon, 58 degrees in February, doesn't get any better except for the lamb chops, green beans and mashed potatoes/gravy lunch. OK, dining partner might argue that the broiled scallops (small portion) were the best. Lamb chops medium rare, perfection. Green beans tender with a bit of a twist and creamy real mashed potatoes. Disgusting food. They advertise fresh but everything was frozen. They definitely don't greet people the right way. I had to wait ten minutes then ask for menu from the two girls who were in the back laughing with each other and talking. Just very unprofessional and uncomfortable. Oh and the sixties called. They want there decorations back. From the time I came it was 54 min before I got my burger and what a mess. Frozen party with canned pulled pork on top. Over well done and very dry (since they didn't even ask me how I wanted my burger cooked) will not Go back there again. Better off going to McDonald's just down the road they're good sucks here!! I have eaten at Pegasus several times in the last few years, and every experience has been positive. The food is delicious, service is quick and courteous, and its always a comfortable environment. I have attended a wedding reception there in the larger private room which is absolutely beautiful, and the food and service on a large scale was fantastic. I was also blessed to have my baby shower there recently in the smaller private room which was perfect with a fireplace and lots of windows, very bright and inviting. The food - from the appetizers to the chicken piccata that I had with potatoes and broccoli - was yummy. My mom really loved the crab meat topped salmon. All in all, whether its for lunch/dinner or a larger private event, I highly recommend Pegasus. read more

Disgusting and ridiculous! I have never had my intelligence so insulted by the owner and diners! The place was completely empty besides three tables on a Saturday night. That should have been my Que. to leave, but I didn't! My burger was frozen and dried out, I didn't even eat it at the restaurant because of the issues we had plus I never gave the waitress a temp so I don't know why the chef made it well done. The owner is an incompetent woman who thinks oil and vinegar alone is an acceptable greek dressing when all we asked was for a different dressing! There were two different tables that decided to start problems with us because we had issues with the food! The one table had been rudely gossiped about where I (customers in general) could see by waitresses when her teenage son stormed out due to some issue with his mother. I couldn't believe the treatment we were not looking for money off or a free meal just a nice decent meal after a long day of work and clearly that can not be gotten from here!
