Tiny baby pizzas for kiddos for only $19!
    Steve C.

Not good and pricey. My family ordered 2 pizzas for pickup. I wish they would have told me they were selling Tostinos... tiny little 10in pies with a smattering of cheese and a light drizzle of tomato juice. Just a disappointment. The staff seemed angry that I was picking up the pizzas. $19/pie! I looked at the bill and they'd added a 5% charge for a credit card. They didn't mention it, just thought that was okay. Nope. The place inside looks cute. So that's a positive. But the food? Small portions, medium quality ingredients (sauce from a jar and cheese from a zip lock bag) and honestly just not very well prepared. The middle of the pie was droopy and soggy while the edges were hard and flavorless. TL;DR: Not good at pizza. I don't suggest pickup.

Maybe my pizza standards are too high, maybe I got too excited when I saw that pizza stove, because the pizza really fell short of any expectations. Very average at best. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Lots of wine and drink options to choose from. Prices on the high end given the lack of flavor. Location is perfect if your coming off the mountain. Beautiful views from the dining room.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Windham. The service is impeccable from start to finish, the owners always make their rounds to make sure you're enjoying your meal, and the space is so cozy and warm. We started with off drinks; I had "The Hugo" which was an Italian Spritzer with prosecco. It was very refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. We didn't order an appetizer but their bread deserves recognition in this review! They serve their bread warm with a really high quality olive oil and fresh cracked black pepper. I could eat an entire loaf of this bread in one sitting. I usually have the bolognese which is one of the best versions I've ever had but tonight I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. To me, this is the perfect vodka sauce because it's more tomato based than cream based so it's a bit on the lighter side. I added chicken to it and it was grilled to perfection! I was able to try the Mussels Bianco and the Vegetable Medley salad as well which were both incredibly tasty. The broth for the mussels was so rich while also being light and the vegetables were grilled perfectly on the salad. My experiences I've had at Millrock just gets more and more elevated every time we go!

Great food, amazing service! Place was busy for the long weekend but we never felt rushed. We came for dinner on Saturday and loved it so much that we came back again on Sunday. Between the four of us over the two days, we probably tried half of the entrees on the menu. Everything was yum! But let me rant about the service... as we were about to leave, I asked the owner who was hosting where I can pick up some fruit for breakfast tomorrow. She suggested a place down the road, which was helpful. Two minutes later, she came to our table with a box of blackberries, strawberries and an orange! She gave us food out of her own refrigerator!!! Talk about a proprietor who cares.

We were not disappointed. We were seated promptly by our lovely hostess, and Shaun immediately came over to recite specials and to take our orders. He was attentive and we knew we were in good hands! We started with the Dr. Fox Cocktail: Angostura bitters, Bulleit Rye, Apple Liqueur, Dry Curacao, and Sweet Vermouth, which was perfect. It was accompanied by a hummus trio to spread on the bread. There was also a delicious foccacio. Next we were served a perfect salad, delicately dressed, and what made the salad so delightful was that the lettuce was torn into manageable pieces. A pet peeve of mine is large lettuce leaves that are difficult to wrangle, and this was not the case here. There were also tiny bits of cauliflower that gave the salad a nice texture and crunch.  I had the Stuffed Artichoke and my husband had Shrimp Gamberi on an Arugula salad. Both were substantial and beautifully seasoned. We had two glasses of an Argentine Tomero Malbec. It was a generous pour. For the main course, I had Polla al Limone (Lemon Chicken) over spinach. A simple dish done well. My husband had the Halibut special, a classic Mediterranean baked halibut with tomatoes, capers, and olives. So good that he finished it all...a rarity for him. (The halibut was pricey and it would be appreciated if the price was mentioned when the specials were gone over. Perhaps we should have asked.) We finished with a Sorbetto al Lampone, a tart raspberry sorbet in a dark chocolate shell and sliced.  And as we left, our sweet hostess brought over Lucianno, the most adorable puppy, to send us off with puppy kisses! We definitely will be back...especially for the wild boar ragu over pappadelles. One nitpicking observation. The entrance to the restaurant was a tad shabby. We mistook it for the service entrance. It needs to be spruced up to match the superb food inside!

Usually I like to pick what dishes are considered popular on Beli but I really wanted to try them, they're just too hot and not very satisfying to kick off your palate. The bread was okay, a little (very) messy and the hummus trio was cute but not necessary or particularly tasty. The pollo al limone and gamberoni e fagioli were good, a little dry but not a deal breaker. Service was nice, the place is pretty casual so I would recommend for a regular casual date night, it's not fine dining--the experience was nice but not luxurious. What I mean is it's cozy and inviting, not elegant and stuffy. Cheers!

We arrived right on time for our 7 P.M. reservation, to a room that was warm and buzzy. We chatted briefly with Meigan, one of the owners, who was absolutely lovely, before being seated promptly. I ordered the gricia, which was divine (mine never turns out this well!), and my husband had the squid ink pasta with scallops, which he loved. We then shared the flat iron steak, which was cooked perfectly. We also enjoyed a few glasses of a Tuscan blend, which was just the thing to complement our meal. All in all, it was the perfect Saturday date night dinner, in a cozy, romantic setting. We trudged through the snow, back to our hotel, happy and full. We'll definitely return.

We…read morehad walked by Via Cassia a number of times before dining here, oftentimes seeing folks enjoying Aperol spritzes at the outdoor tables having what seemed to be a relaxed and joyous time, which made for a very compelling advertisement. While it was too hot to sit outside when we dined here, we made sure to start with a couple of Aperol spritzes, which were delicious and exactly what the night called for. I wouldn't say the food was as mind blowing as many of the reviews have described it to be, but it was still very good, albeit a bit inconsistent. We'll of course need to return to sample more of the menu (particularly the pastas, which we did not try on this occasion). We came here at around 8:30pm on a Wednesday night. When I looked online, I saw reservations opens throughout the night, so I didn't end up making one, mainly because we weren't sure what time we'd make it out for dinner. As it turned out -- mostly like because it was Wednesday and many places in town are closed -- Via Cassia was packed and there was nothing open when we arrived. We ended up sitting maybe 15 minutes later so it didn't end up being much of an issue, and we made sure to put in an order of Aperol spritzes to sip on while we waited. Food-wise, we ended up going the protein and veggie route and forgoing the pastas. I usually don't give much attention to pastas at Italian restaurants because I'm gluten-free, but through my thorough review review, I saw that Via Cassia offers gluten-free pasta and that it is heralded as quite good. I happened to not be in the mood for pasta on this particular night but it seems like that is where Via Cassia shines, so I'll know better next time. What we had, as I mentioned, was still solid though. Eats, below: Black Tuscan Kale Salad w/ honey and black truffle vinaigrette and ricotta salata: A+ Far and away the best thing we had. I honestly could have had three of these instead of the two veggie sides we got, and that's a lot coming from me because I'm always out for the most variety possible. The lacinato kale was so fresh and delicious and held the magical and heavenly dressing in the perfect way. The ricotta on top made it that much more decadent (decadent for a salad, at least). Grilled Quail w/ lemon yogurt and roasted corn: A- Always excited to see quail on a menu. The amount of protein was a bit smaller than we were expecting and while cooked very well, it was definitely underseasoned. However, the corn, yogurt and all other accompaniments were super flavorful and delicious, and when combined with the quail in one bite, it altogether worked very well. Halibut w/ cherry tomatoes, roasted summer squash, cucumber: B+ Similar to the quail, the halibut was fairly bland but the accompaniments were well-seasoned and flavorful, and paired nicely with the fish to make for a well-rounded and tasty bite. I appreciated the use of seasonal ingredients, as bright and colorful as they were fresh. Broccolini w/ black garlic mustard and pickled chilis: B Beginning to think someone had a bit too light of a touch on the salt or something on this particular night, because the broccolini was also lacking some flavor. All components were there and you'd expect with this preparation to have good flavor, but it wasn't quite there. Also very oily. Roasted Baby Carrots w/ honey and pink peppercorn vinaigrette: A- Oily again, but more flavor this time, making it somewhere between a B+ and A-. The vinaigrette itself was light and tasty -- the oiliness seemed to mostly come from what I imagine was involved in the roasting process. In any case, an easy fix, and these were otherwise very good, a hit for my partner in particular. We split the negroni (made with Malfy gin, which I hadn't heard of before) at the end of the night because we wanted to try it without drinking all that much. Highly recommend and splitting one will not feel even close to enough. Next time I'll be getting a whole one for myself, no sharing allowed.

The predatory billing practices here are shocking: 20% Automatic Gratuity: ok, this is not unusual for large groups in many resistant, but clearly explained why the staff felt no need to actually serve and take care of us. 10% "Living Wage Fee": A mandatory tax on the customer because the owner refuses to pay their staff properly! From start to finish, everything about the day radiated warmth, care, and that unmistakable Woodstock charm. This big old tire lug even cried at one point (beautiful day). The Barn itself is stunning -- rustic beams and earthy textures balanced by soft, glowing light that makes every moment feel intimate. The space feels both elevated and welcoming, where guests instantly relax into the atmosphere. As a photographer, I loved how naturally light fell across the room, how every corner offered a backdrop of character and soul. The staff deserves endless praise, I must say. They were attentive, yet never intrusive, and moved with thoughtfulness. I watched glasses being filled before anyone noticed they were empty, plates delivered with genuine smiles, and small details handled with a level of care that made all the difference. And then there's the food -- it was out of this world. Every dish was crafted with love, pride, rooted in the flavors of the Hudson Valley and plated with artistry. From the first bites of fresh made pasta to the rich, soulful entrées of chicken and fish, guests talked about the food all night. And me, two days later I'm still talking about it. Guests lingered at long tables, savoring not just the food but a sense of connection it fostered. My hats off to the chef! I love what you do. The Barn at Cucina in Woodstock does not just host weddings -- it embraces them. It gave the bride and groom and their family and friends a space to celebrate love, life, the past, present and the future while also creating a sense of community, belonging. By the end of the evening, it was less like a venue and more like a gathering place for something sacred, joyful, holy. If you're considering Woodstock for your wedding, The Barn at Cucina is a gem. As a photographer, I can't recommend it enough -- it's a place where love is not only celebrated but elevated, wrapped in incredible service, unforgettable food, and a setting that feels timeless, chic, elevated.
