    Chicken Schnitzel

From the start, this restaurant excelled in food, service, and ambience in a casual and roomy dining area. Our waitress was excellent and described everything in great detail as we ordered. Service is top-notch as well as the delectable food. I had the Chicken Schnitzel entree that was tasty and satisfyingly crispy. The Pita appetizer was a creamy dreamy delight. Our dessert was the Citrus Olive Oil Cake baked with almond flour and garnished with slivered almonds. Portions are hefty and nice presented. I can't wait to go back to try more menu selections.

I came here after I tried to come a couple of months without a reservation (big mistake!). Silvia is popular for a reason. Snag a reservation as soon as you can! The restaurant had such a cozy vibe and calming atmosphere. The beets and the endive, prosciutto and fig were a MUST appetizer and the mushroom pasta was so fresh and delicious! I will definitely be coming back!

Probably one of the best restaurants in the area! Ambiance is great, food is good not great, and service is really pleasantly fast. Here is what we ordered for a group of 4 - Wood Fire Pita (5/5): pita bread was amazing, and the whipped butter with honey was surprisingly light. We had to order 2 more pitas though so everyone could get there own, and at $6/pita, the price is a bit outrageous - Whipped feta and heirloom tomato (5/5): also a hit. really light and refreshing, and also tastes good with the pita - Mushroom pate (3/5): this was just okay for me. the flavor was a bit one-dimensional and did not taste like much - Five leaves salad (4/5): pretty good, but not amazing. - Chicken schnitzel (4.5/5): probably one of the lightest chicken schnitzels I ever had. the breading had a nice crisp, the chicken was not dry, and I loved the green beans that accompanied it - so flavorful - Brussel sprouts (2/5): $15 for 8 brussel sprouts it a bit absurd. also not too tasty Would definitely make a res if you have a weekend trip upstate, but don't have your expectations too high!

SILVIA's ambience and décor is simply beautiful--especially at night, making it the perfect date spot. My husband and I started with the wood-fired pita served with whipped butter and honey, which was such a treat. The chicken schnitzel was crispy and delicious, and the green beans it came with didn't disappoint. My husband's steak was decent but a bit lacking in flavor--if not for the side of mushrooms and broccoli rabe, it wouldn't have stood out.

Had no trouble walking in for an early dinner on a Sunday. My boyfriend and I ordered: + Blackberry hibiscus sour + Chamomile sour + Five leaves + Manila clam & wild ramp + Smoked savoy cabbage The blackberry sour was my favorite drink, and the cabbage was the standout dish. Everything was really good though. 4.5 stars.

    Beautiful ambience

Amazing!! Cannot recommend enough! I had only heard great things about Silvia and it exceeded our expectations. The location was excellent, right in the middle of the main strip in Woodstock. Had a cozy and intimate vibe. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. For food we tried three dishes and all three blew us away!

Food was good! We got a couple apps to share. The portions were a little small (especially for the pork chops). I really enjoyed the mushroom pasta. Very flavorful. The service was okay. Not the baby friendliest place. No changing table in the bathroom but it's big enough that you can figure it out. Espresso martini was okay. Very cute vibe/ambiance.

Great service! Nice ambiance in the bar area where we sat. Ordered a Black Manhattan, Margarita special (had ginger and rosemary), and Smoked Beet dish. Everything was good. Wanted to try the potato and Brussels that were also vegan but we were eating dinner somewhere else. We'll be back!

Came for dinner with my boyfriend and we enjoyed it! The food was great - the fresh pita is definitely the highlight. Both service and ambiance were on point. Would love to come again :)

Nice ambience, good music, good crowd, good service. Food was excellent. Drinks were meh. The schnitzel was my favorite. Nice and crispy. The pate had a lot of flavor. The other apps were good but not memorable like the schnitzel.

Wonderful restaurant in town, Woodstock, not far from Woodstock playhouse. Nice dining rooms with open kitchen, and has a nice outside deck which I'm sure they use in warmer weather. Food was excellent and nicely plated. Waitstaff was exceptional. Unfortunately I didn't get her name, but she was very well informed, knew all ingredients of dishes, was pleasant and helpful. Only negative, was it was a little too dimly lit. I know it's often good for ambiance, but a little bit lighter would have been nice. Would highly recommend , and nice for a special occasion. We were celebrating our anniversary as was the couple next to us. Parking on the street, can be a little challenging.

Silvia is a perfect blend of moser and upscale while still providing you with the Woodstock nature feel. The service was phenomenal friendly and careful. We got a seat outside and it was the perfect date night scene(Also it's pup friendly). We got the spicy margarita and rhubarb basil sour. The sour was a little better. For starters we got the manilla clam & wild ramp. It was zesty and buttery and the clams were cleaned nicely. For mains we got the spring seafood chowder and the local grass fed and finished steak. I love soup, this was a little disappointing for me. The amount of seafood was fair for the price, but the broth was bland. I also expect a bit of a creamier broth when I think chowder. It was very light which wasn't a bad thing just surprising and I thought the veggies were chopped a little too large for a soup. The steak on the other hand phenomenal. It had the sear you could scrape with a knife. Also a nice portion and it was salty and perfect cooked at a medium rare. It came with broccoli rabe and mushrooms. The broccoli rabe and mushrooms held their integrity and still had a good bite. The mustard that came with the steak was tbe nice spicy cut to the buttery steak. If ever in the area again I would go back or visit their sister restaurant

We made at 5:45 reservation and sat in a cozy corner table. The kitchen is open to the restaurant but not intrusive. The walls are decorated with mixed art. The natural light comes through the front of the restaurant. Over very cozy. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Our cocktails were yummy and well balanced. The prosciutto and fig app was delicious. The spice, salt and cheese were the perfect balance. Our dinners were just as delicious. The tarragon aioli is memorable. I would definitely come again for a date night.

Orange is usually my go-to if it's on a menu and that night they had one option--slightly tangy and tart while still very smooth... My husband's calf's liver was cooked perfectly medium rare, a nice thick cut too and it came with a tall creamy dollop of whipped potatoes. My jumbo scallops were tender and surrounded by what seemed like rings of flavor...the center was creamy local corn, then leek & bacon ragout, and lastly a perimeter of basil pesto. I loved the little pile of sautéed chanterelle mushrooms on the side as well--They paired well dipped into the calf's liver demi glace reduction. Damon Baehrel, which is named after the chef himself, is probably considered the most exclusive restaurant in the world. It is literally a one-man show, as Chef Baehrel is the one who cooks, serves, and hosts a 5-6+ hour-dining experience for his guests at his beautiful home on his 12-acre property in upstate NY. As most know, this restaurant is booked solid until the year 2026, and they have not been taking any reservations/adding parties onto their waiting list since last year/'14 (this is for an indefinite period of time) - you bet your tootin' bootin' that I felt so victorious for bypassing others on the list by 11+ years!!! (Just note that it really doesn't matter 'who' you are, 'who' you know, and/or if you come equipped with a list of multiple referrals.) Known for his 'Native Harvest Cuisine,' every single item on his menu (besides the seafood that is brought fresh from Nova Scotia from his private supplier) is made/created/raised on the premise - when I mean every item, I mean EVERY item, from the flours, pressed oils, vinegars, breads, to the curing his own meats and aging his own cheeses! This restaurant is the epitome and the prime definition of what 'farm-to-table' should really be! We were welcomed warmly from Chef Baehrel, and I was super excited that we were his only guests for the evening - YES, IT WAS JUST THE 3 OF US, THE HUBS, ME, AND THE CHEF!!! (I think I literally sobbed right on the spot). Our super private dining experience was about 5.5+ hours, but actually flew right on by and was like a total dream - we were given a multi-course menu (about 24-26+ items, including some handful of extras since the Chef was just super excited in having us(!!!)), that featured seasonal, organic plants/fruits/vegetables/trees from his property, in addition to a lovely educational overview of each of the ingredients used for the dish. I just couldn't believe at some of the ingredients that he had used, and how each of them had a distinct flavor (and were all actually edible/okay for human consumption!) - it was amazing to listen to the experimentation, the time spent, the punctuality of harvesting such items throughout the year, and the multiple aging/preserving/curing process that he does. I had a lovely wine pairing with the multi-course dinner (delicious champagne, reds, whites, and dessert wines), while the hubs had homemade juice pairings made from the luscious fruits/tree saps (super delicious and refreshing!). The love, the passion, and the excitement from the chef was just purely an eye-opener, and this literally was the BEST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! BELIEVE THE HYPE (of the very few limited ones there are) - Chef Baehrel will change your life and exceed any and all expectations that you may/will have!!! You have to go there to experience it personally, as there are no words to describe such a unique experience - the overwhelming appreciation that you obtain in tasting the raw essence of the ingredients that are found around you was truly truly truly remarkable - Chef Baehrel is a GENIUS! Just note that there is no photography/video/recording equipment/note-taking allowed inside the restaurant, so PLEASE be respectful to the Chef (and, shame on those 'bloggers' who disregard/circumvent around this request/policy!). I cannot wait to go back! :D +BEST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! +Chef Damon Baehrel :D +Native Harvest Cuisine :D +5.5+ dining experience :D +no photography/video/recording equipment allowed inside the restaurant - please be respectful!

It helps to be flexible with your dates and within driving distance. 20 courses (!), 4.5 hours. 5 hour round trip drive. 1 car rental. Completely worth it. Damon Baehrel is the ultimate host, completely charming and engaging. My wife and I were the only guests and it was awesome! Not awkward at all. What I loved about the meal, besides his "Native Harvest" dishes, was that by the end of it you can start to understand his botany heavy food lexicon, as certain themes started to emerge. Stevia and clover as thickening agents, all sap everything, powders galore, nut flours, fermentation trickery, homemade cheese. Homemade everything! (except some salt and the seafood/wine). Hearing his insanely detailed and clever course preparations makes you feel guilty about eating all of these small bites in less than 30 seconds. Damon paces the meal perfectly, always happy to chat and answer your questions at length. He takes great satisfaction in his cooking and sharing his techniques. This meal is about learning the process as much as it is about eating, and both are better for it. There were some items that sounded cooler than they tasted, but overall each dish was solid. The highlights for me were the teal duck and the duck egg "creme brulee". I guess I like duck. If you are fortunate enough to get a reservation here come with an open mind and don't expect a rich fancy-pants food experience or you will be disappointed. PS - Leaving a one-star review for a restaurant you have never eaten at just because you can't get a reservation is pathetic.

Love it or be gone. Arriving at 5:45, I hadn't inquired as to what time the first tee ball hits the air, turns out it's about 8:00am. So I practiced my sneaky bump and runs, flips and flops and Texas toe downs. And player worth his salt has to know a multitude of great escape shots. So I lead the field being put out as a single with twins and fours amassing behind me and being 2 years removed from the short grass (due to injuries) I was a bit nervy on the 1st tee, nobody knew who I was, everyone else knew each other. Fortunately I ripped a low 3 iron cut stinger and I was off, still walking and carrying my bag, adding layers and subtracting layers as it was nippy in the mountains. I love the classic shallow and square bunkering design originally popular with architecture from the 20's and 30's. The greens rolled true but I couldn't buy a putt, not much break out there and putting off the second collar is doable. The fairways were in the shape to be expected for early season golf, what I should have done was pay closer attention to the unseen creeks that protected some greens and ran out along the sides. But I was the first player and I needed to set a good pace out there. Overall, the course played extremely fair, I can't give the staff enough credit for such fine service for me, attentiveness and extremely friendly.

We weren't entirely sure if he would ever be able to play golf again, so it was an amazing feeling to get out and hit a few balls with him last year. My father is doing much better now (physically at least, not that much better at golf), and so we try and get out whenever possible. This adds up to a couple times a year here when I'm in town, and accordingly, I am very, very bad at golf. Please believe that no one is mistaking Rip Van Winkle for something that belongs on the PGA Tour. When Greene County hasn't gotten enough rain, you may see a few brown spots out there. It's affordable (kids play free too), and has my kind of casual vibe. I love that if I forgot to pack a collared shirt, they don't hassle me. My dad says the owner John is a great guy, and I like that his teenage son is often riding around tidying up the course. It's a true family biz. They do a good job too; the greens are well-maintained, the mountain backdrop is gorgeous, and you can't be sad about any day you spend trying to knock a little white ball around a beautiful grassy area. I suppose I can be sad about how poorly I do it, but I'm pretty happy here overall.
