Great food, service and atmosphere! Celebrated our anniversary. They made it special!

My partner and I had such a lovely meal here to celebrate our anniversary. The aesthetic is gorgeous but very welcoming; we went on a beautiful day so we opted to sit outside on their nice shady balcony. We chose SILVIA because the menu is vegetable forward and as a vegetarian there were several dishes I had to try. Both my omni partner and I loved the mushroom lentil pâté, stuffed artichokes, and smoked beets we had for appetizers. The pâté is rich and flavorful and the pickled veggies it's served with are so good we only wished the dish came with more of them. The artichokes were perfectly tender and are stuffed with raclette and ramp (YUM), and the lemon breadcrumbs they're topped with pair so well with the cheese, and add a lovely brightness and zing. The smoked beets were also perfectly tender with a deep rich smokey flavor, and the chimichurri they come with does a nice job to add brightness (There's a theme here of rich flavors paired with brightness to make your palette pop). For an entrée we opted to share the local mushroom & pasta rags dish. the pasta rags were cooked nicely, soft but still toothy, and the mushrooms, black garlic butter, and thyme added a rich deep flavor. I was obsessed with the amount of parmigiano reggiano the pasta was topped with -- I could've eaten plate after plate of this dish. Their cocktail menu seems to be just as well thought out as their food with some unique offerings. I tried and enjoyed both Mezcal options. Service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. TL;DR: beautiful space, absolutely delicious food, plenty of vegetarian options, fun cocktails, great service. Go here. read more

Tasty, trendy, and just an overall very cool place to grab an upscale meal if you find yourself in Woodstock. The outdoor patio was gorgeous with hanging string lights and it was nice to sit out on a warm summer night. However, the indoor also had an amazing vibe with an open kitchen concept and a swanky bar. On a Friday night both areas were packed, so I'd say a reservation here is a must. I made mine well in advance. We started off with a few small plates and all were delish. I heard good things about the fresh hot pita bread with whipped butter and was not let down. We also had fresh heirloom tomatoes with a whipped feta, and prosciutto and endive. For my main I went with scallops. While these were absolutely incredible I do have to mention that the price was very high for what was received. Four small scallops for $40... and mostly just a huge bed of corn and peas. Delicious, but way way steep when considering what was given. I also had some of my husband's steak which was perfectly cooked and salted and came with the most delicious oyster mushrooms. This is definitely a spendy dinner (especially with a few cocktails in the mix), BUT... it's classy and food and drinks are top tier. So for a special night out this is absolutely worth a visit. read more

Silvia was quite good. It's new American cuisine that's made very well. They take pride in their menu. Sat next to the door and had a blast. The servers were super nice and attentive. They had amazing drinks. The vibe was upscale but still casual. Would be back for more. The pasta was so so good. Absolutely loved it. Each part of the meal was honestly so good. The salad was fresh and the steak was super juicy and well aged. Would definitely come back read more

OMG! This was seriously some of the best pasta I've ever had! The mushroom sauce was absolutely delicious--rich, creamy, and full of flavor. My wine paired perfectly with the pasta and made the whole meal even better. My daughter ordered the scallop dish, which she enjoyed, but I have to say, my pasta was definitely the winner! The restaurant itself is really nice, with both a dining area and a bar. Both spaces are cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy your meal. read more

High prices, underwhelming food, nice ambience. Friendly service is hit or miss. We go occasionally because we like the ambience and the bartenders. read more

Great little neighborhood restaurant with a romantic dinner vibe. Parking is not fantastic, even though it's about 20 minutes away, this small town seeems to be EXTREMELY busy during the Rhinebeck sheep and wool festival. For dinner we ordered the soup of the day, I think it was butternut squash the chicken schnitzel & double pork chop for dinner. The pork chop was a LOT of protein. But it was delicious, I had to pick up the bone and make sure I gnawed on it and got every last morsel. The schnitzel was ok, nothing fancy or remarkable. The serve staff was friendly and helpful but I could have used a couple more visits to my table for drink refills. read more

The experience met the Yelp ratings and hype. Waked in on a Tuesday evening at 730pm and snagged a patio table for 2. I suspect you'll need reservations most other nights. Cozy and romantic. The patio was quieter than inside. The diners were a mix of families, vacationers, dressed up and casual types. Now, to the food. As vegetarians, it was a surprise to see 11 of 21 menu items without meat! We tried 3. The smoky beets were smoky, and the mushroom lentil pate was more lentil than mushroom. The pasta with local mushrooms was an umami bomb, and rich. Three items were plenty for two people. The Cremant was a good accompaniment, but the NA bitter spritzer was just ok. No room for dessert; next time. Service was efficient and pleasant. If you're a vegetarian looking for a fine dining experience in the area, I'd highly recommend a visit. read more

i would love to give this place 5 stars but i didnt like the lamb whatsoever. everything else though? FANTASTIC. the brussels sprouts were unreal, so flavorful with the perfect amount of smokiness. pita with the honey was great, i'd recommend having less butter and drizzling more honey but that's just me being nitpicky. the honey was so good and the butter was nice and airy. pita itself was cooked perfectly and was fluffy, but will note the person next to us had a completely burnt pita and sent it back. but working with an open flame like this you have to understand. the mushroom pasta was to die for, so rich and flavorful. the pasta itself was perfectly al dente as well. interior ambiance was great, i loved the open kitchen and the outdoor patio was adorable. the bar area is refined and classy, overall just beautiful establishment. service was quick, friendly and kind. we wanted to sit on the same side and they made sure we were comfortable and able to do that. unfortunately i took a star off because i did not enjoy the lamb. i prefer my lamb to taste not super gamey but have at least that signature soft gamey lamb flavor. this lamb didn't taste like lamb at all, it almost was remisncent of pork. 0 gamey flavor at all and to me completely missed the mark on what im looking for when eating lamb. i also wasn't a fan of the hummus completely on the bottom, it didn't really pair well with anything and just seemed unnecessary. maybe replacing it with potatoes or more veggies would've been a much better route. the carrots were my favorite part of the dish, tender and tasty. in the end i enjoyed my dinner here a lot but would not recommend ordering the lamb if you're a lamb enthusiast. if you don't like the taste of lamb normally though you might enjoy it. read more

Probably one of the best restaurants in the area! Ambiance is great, food is good not great, and service is really pleasantly fast. Here is what we ordered for a group of 4 - Wood Fire Pita (5/5): pita bread was amazing, and the whipped butter with honey was surprisingly light. We had to order 2 more pitas though so everyone could get there own, and at $6/pita, the price is a bit outrageous - Whipped feta and heirloom tomato (5/5): also a hit. really light and refreshing, and also tastes good with the pita - Mushroom pate (3/5): this was just okay for me. the flavor was a bit one-dimensional and did not taste like much - Five leaves salad (4/5): pretty good, but not amazing. - Chicken schnitzel (4.5/5): probably one of the lightest chicken schnitzels I ever had. the breading had a nice crisp, the chicken was not dry, and I loved the green beans that accompanied it - so flavorful - Brussel sprouts (2/5): $15 for 8 brussel sprouts it a bit absurd. also not too tasty Would definitely make a res if you have a weekend trip upstate, but don't have your expectations too high! read more

Wonderful food (the smoked beetroot is top-notch) with a pleasant atmosphere, music, and highly professional staff.

SILVIA's ambience and décor is simply beautiful--especially at night, making it the perfect date spot. My husband and I started with the wood-fired pita served with whipped butter and honey, which was such a treat. The chicken schnitzel was crispy and delicious, and the green beans it came with didn't disappoint. My husband's steak was decent but a bit lacking in flavor--if not for the side of mushrooms and broccoli rabe, it wouldn't have stood out. read more

I came here after I tried to come a couple of months without a reservation (big mistake!). Silvia is popular for a reason. Snag a reservation as soon as you can! Upscale Woodstock fine dining with large outdoor deck with tables and nice ambiance. Emphasis on natural foods, gluten free, as well as the standard items one would expect at a $$$$ type restaurant. Food was tasty and well prepared with some unusual dishes not usually found at more conventional places. Nice jazzy music at low volume contributes to the vibe. Dinner for three was around $200, so be prepared to shell out for a nice dining experience. read more

Honestly Silvia might be the best restaurant in the area. No, it is not the cheapest, but as far as the consistent quality is concerned, it is worth every penny. I can not recommend Silvias enough. read more

My husband and I came to Silvia for our anniversary dinner, and we left feeling incredibly disappointed. The decor and ambiance are beautiful, and the food was genuinely very good. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed what should have been a special evening. We had an 8:30 reservation, but when we arrived we were told to wait by the bar. After 30 minutes, we had to ask about our table before we were finally seated. Our waiter was dismissive from the start. When we ordered a pita to go with the whipped feta, he seemed annoyed by the request. The pita never arrived. We asked about it later and were told it was coming, but after another 20 minutes we'd already finished the appetizer and told him not to bother. Then we waited nearly an hour for our entrees. During that time, we watched multiple tables around us be seated, eat, and leave before our food ever arrived. My husband finally spoke with the manager, who apologized and gave a speech about how they wanted us to stay and "let them feed us," which made it seem like they intended to do something to make the experience right--especially given that it was our anniversary. Instead, our entrees finally arrived, our waiter remained rude and largely unavailable, and the only thing removed from the bill was our drinks, which we had only ordered because of the extended wait. What was most disappointing wasn't even the delays--it was how the situation was handled. The apology felt performative rather than sincere, and no real effort was made to salvage what was supposed to be a meaningful anniversary dinner. I almost never write negative reviews because I know restaurants have off nights, and I genuinely dislike complaining. But this experience was upsetting enough that I felt compelled to share it. The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing, and the bartender was excellent. Unfortunately, the waitstaff and management turned what should have been a memorable celebration into a frustrating and disappointing evening. read more

Food was good! We got a couple apps to share. The portions were a little small (especially for the pork chops). I really enjoyed the mushroom pasta. Very flavorful. The service was okay. Not the baby friendliest place. No changing table in the bathroom but it's big enough that you can figure it out. Espresso martini was okay. Very cute vibe/ambiance. read more

From the start, this restaurant excelled in food, service, and ambience in a casual and roomy dining area. Our waitress was excellent and described everything in great detail as we ordered. Service is top-notch as well as the delectable food. I had the Chicken Schnitzel entree that was tasty and satisfyingly crispy. The Pita appetizer was a creamy dreamy delight. Our dessert was the Citrus Olive Oil Cake baked with almond flour and garnished with slivered almonds. Portions are hefty and nice presented. I can't wait to go back to try more menu selections. read more

The restaurant is elevated in both cuisine and atmosphere, but not at all stuffy--perfect for dinner before going to a show. We had an delicious meal in a cozy, well-decorated atmosphere with great service. As others have mentioned, the pita with whipped butter drizzled with honey as a starter is a must. There was a nice selection of mocktails for me, a non-drinker who still wants something festive. My trout was delicious as was my spouse's pork chop. Our salad was not particularly memorable, but was fresh. For dessert we shared a turkish delight panna cotta--it turned out to be heavenly. Fresh, milky panna cotta topped with a layer of soft, rosewater flavored turkish delight (not solid, just right) with some toasted pistachios. We'll definitely return. read more

Wow! SILVIA is hands down the best restaurant in Woodstock. We got the East Coast Oysters and Wood Fired Pita to start. Both were sooo good and fresh! Loved the touch of honey in the butter. For the entrees we had the grass-fed steak, rack of lamb and our toddler had the homemade pasta. Pineapple Margarita was great! Everything was fresh, top notch quality and so tasty! Great service too! Loved the open kitchen concept. We've also been to Good Night, but I personally think SILVIA has the better menu and vibes! Don't skip this one!! read more

Wonderful restaurant in town, Woodstock, not far from Woodstock playhouse. Nice dining rooms with open kitchen, and has a nice outside deck which I'm sure they use in warmer weather. Food was excellent and nicely plated. Waitstaff was exceptional. Unfortunately I didn't get her name, but she was very well informed, knew all ingredients of dishes, was pleasant and helpful. Only negative, was it was a little too dimly lit. I know it's often good for ambiance, but a little bit lighter would have been nice. Would highly recommend , and nice for a special occasion. We were celebrating our anniversary as was the couple next to us. Parking on the street, can be a little challenging. read more

SILVIA was THE place everyone who had visited or lived in Woodstock raved about; it was clearly the spot to dine around town. Once I walked into the warm, welcoming, and modern farmhouse, I saw why people were enamored with it. There was a pristine open kitchen, a stylish bar with nearby seating, and an upscale dining area overseeing it all. In addition, the service was patient, delicate, and efficient. I started by trying the Mushroom Lentil Pate with walnuts. The creamy, rich, and earthy spread was a delicious addition to the top of a slice of the accompanying charred toast. The platter also included some pickled onions, radishes, and cornichons, as well as a small pool of horseradish mustard. It was a great start to the meal. My main dish was the Seafood Bouillabaisse, which contained mussels, monkfish, scallops, shrimp, squid, and fresh fennel. While I really liked the tomato-saffron sofrito broth, I thought the fish itself was rather bland. There was just some sort of seasoning missing from the stew...perhaps black pepper. SILVIA provided a lovely experience, but I would try a different entree next time. read more

Whoa... From start to finish an excellent experience. We brought a group of 23 colleagues for a team dinner, and Silvia completely exceeded expectations. The planning process was seamless -- Charlie and James were incredibly communicative and accommodating, making sure we had the right menu and seating setup well in advance. The food? Outstanding. Every dish that came out was both beautiful and delicious, with flavors that sparked conversation at every table. The family-style service was perfect for a group our size, and we had a fantastic variety of dishes without anyone having to stress over individual orders. Several members of our team commented that this was the best meal we've had across any of our quarterly offsites (and we've dined in a lot of great cities!). Service was just as memorable. James and the entire staff were attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Even when he had to step away to handle a building issue, everything ran smoothly -- a testament to how well the team operates. If you're planning a group dinner in the Woodstock area, I can't recommend Silvia highly enough. The combination of thoughtful planning, warm hospitality, and truly exceptional food made this a night to remember.. read more

We had a lovely dinner at Silvia's. Service was very good. The only thing I think they should consider is when a guest had informed the staff in advance that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary they should of sent a dessert with Happy Anniversary written on the plate or sent 2 glasses of prosecco. It's called hospitality. Just saying Happy Anniversary when we arrived seemed just wasn't what I'd expect from a beautiful restaurant. read more

I wanted to love this place. A wedding planner recommended. Things did not start well. We reserved an indoor table and one was not available. We requested 3 checks for 3 couples and the manager said it was "too complicated". Our food was good as were the portions but not stellar. The salads and entrees were good although some diners claimed the lamb was too spicy. Service was abysmally slow. We were ignored when we requested simple things - a wedge of lemon, more water and salt/pepper. The server had quite an attitude. Not for us. read more

Silvia is a perfect blend of moser and upscale while still providing you with the Woodstock nature feel. The service was phenomenal friendly and careful. We got a seat outside and it was the perfect date night scene(Also it's pup friendly). We got the spicy margarita and rhubarb basil sour. The sour was a little better. For starters we got the manilla clam & wild ramp. It was zesty and buttery and the clams were cleaned nicely. For mains we got the spring seafood chowder and the local grass fed and finished steak. I love soup, this was a little disappointing for me. The amount of seafood was fair for the price, but the broth was bland. I also expect a bit of a creamier broth when I think chowder. It was very light which wasn't a bad thing just surprising and I thought the veggies were chopped a little too large for a soup. The steak on the other hand phenomenal. It had the sear you could scrape with a knife. Also a nice portion and it was salty and perfect cooked at a medium rare. It came with broccoli rabe and mushrooms. The broccoli rabe and mushrooms held their integrity and still had a good bite. The mustard that came with the steak was tbe nice spicy cut to the buttery steak. If ever in the area again I would go back or visit their sister restaurant read more

Very disappointed with the service. The waiter was rude and treated us differently compared to other customers. The behavior felt discriminatory and made us extremely uncomfortable. The service was poor, and the waiter's behavior toward us was noticeably different from how other guests were treated. The tone, comments, and lack of respect felt discriminatory. This ruined the entire dining experience. Until staff are properly trained to treat all customers equally, I cannot recommend this restaurant. We came to enjoy a meal, not to feel judged or disrespected. Management really needs to address how their staff treats customers. I will not be returning read more

We had made reservations for the five of us on a relatively quiet Friday evening in Woodstock, and the town was quiet because everyone had lined up or were waiting to be seated at Silvia's! Reservations highly recommended though, as we still had to wait a few minutes before being seated in our extremely comfortable booth seating which was perfect for our toddler! We started off a few cocktails which included a nice mezcal drink and old fashioned, and also a rather disappointing Szechuan mule. The Szechuan mule lacked the peppercorn taste and was very mediocre. The other two drinks were absolutely amazing though. For appetizers, we ordered a few things which included Mushroom Lentin Pate ($17), Lamb Merguez and Wild Shrimp ($24), Smoked Beet ($15), Patatas Bravas ($15), and some toast. The Mushroom Pâté was absolutely delicious and was the best appetizer, followed by Smoked Beet and the lamb. Patatas bravas were good too, while they were warm but as soon as they got a little cold, they became very dry to eat. Decent portion sizes, enough to fill us up, but we also ended up ordering the Local Mushroom & Pasta Rags ($32) which was packed with a lot of flavor. Highly recommend that plate to anyone out there is a vegetarian. The most delicious Pasta I've had in recent times! Special shoutout to Aaron, our server who took really good care of us. Very friendly and welcoming, and ensured we had a pleasant evening. Service overall was excellent and food came within 20 mins of ordering. Noise level were on the average end and the menu overall was definitely on the expensive side of things. We will visit again, specifically for their Local Mushroom & Pasta Rags! read more

Highly Recommend! Service, food and ambiance were impeccable. Food: For appetizers, we got the lamb and shrimp pita and a kale and brussels salad. Both were very tasty and great choices. I got the blueberry sour and espresso martini to drink and they were great. For entrees, we got the chicken schnitzel (not something I would usually order, but saw recommendations online) and lamb chops. So happy we decided to eat at Silvia's tonight! Everything was delicious and the service and atmosphere was excellent. We weren't sure what to expect bringing our 18 month old but the staff were so friendly and accommodating and our son loved watching what was going on in the open kitchen. It's hard to pick a favorite dish but I really enjoyed my pork chop entree which was charred perfectly yet maintained its juiciness - the grits delicious and not overly heavy. We also LOVED the house made pita and whipped feta with honey and maldon. The artichoke soup was yummy and cozy as well. Nothing bad to say about any of the dishes, everything was amazing and the portions are a nice size, so you really feel like you get your money's worth!
