We were visiting Woodstock with a large party, and an online search yielded Allison's as one of a few well-rated spots that would not only be open to large groups, but also welcoming to a pet who was traveling with us. The restaurant is homey and cottage-like, both inside and out. The menu has a diner-like variety and everyone from our youngest to our oldest eaters found something they wanted. Everything across the board was decent and well-seasoned. Feeling particularly peckish, I ordered their cheeseburger hero, which turned out like a classic chopped cheese sandwich. I really appreciated the warmth and flexibility of the service here. The members of our party were arriving at all different times, but our waitress was quick to drop by our table and collect orders from the newest arrivals. We have a few picky eaters in our group, but the kitchen was open and welcoming to their modifications. Other servers kept our water glasses filled, and sizable lollipops were doled out to all the kiddos in our groups at the end of our meal (to their great delight).

Delicious dinner on a Tuesday night, with no wait at 7pm. My dinner was a branzino dish with roasted potatoes, spinach, tomatoes, garlic, and a sauce they made to be gluten free and dairy free - lemon sauce with EVOO instead of butter. Seriously so good! Husband had a Rueben sandwich with sweet potato fries (extra $), and felt it was good but nothing spectacular. Hard to make this be a standout sandwich I suppose. One kid had a cheese ravioli parmigiana entree and it was so much cheese. The other kid had chipotle chicken BLT sandwich and really liked how spicy it was. Service was great, waitress was knowledgable and the staff was attentive with water refills. The inside is super cute with plants hanging throughout the ceiling. We took our daughter's service dog that she's raising and the waitress brought over a bowl of water for the dog.

Such a cute restaurant in Woodstock! I ordered the chicken marsala and my boyfriend ordered the chicken Francese, and both were absolutely delicious! I came with my boyfriend's family, which included a one-year-old baby and a small dog, as a group of 8. The restaurant allowed us to bring in the dog and had a seat for the baby, so they were very accommodating. The mixed food platter wasn't my favorite, but the mango pineapple smoothie was delicious! I also ordered the soup with my pasta and the chicken and rice soup was delicious as well. Despite having a big group, they were pretty good with keeping up with us and our big order during a busy time of day. I genuinely had a great experience here and would be so happy to come back. To be honest, my boyfriend's dish was even better than my chicken marsala, and the chicken marsala is so good!

From the moment we walked in to the second we left was magical. The food was amazing the cozy atmosphere on a nice fall evening was incredible. The staff here couldn't have been nicer, very welcoming clean and organized restaurant. I can't say enough good about Allison's restaurant. We will absolutely be back

The long-running and previous Joshua's will always be remembered as a Woodstock staple. But with their closure, Allison's Restaurant made their entrance. There are no shoes to be filled as Joshua's was global and Mediterranean with the Shashoukas, Israeli salads, shammatov, etc. Those were the days. The newest kid on the block, Allison's, also runs the gamut between a mix of wraps to quesadillas to fajitas, some Italian fare to souvlaki to Mexican street corn to a cordon Bleu- heck, there are even plantains offered here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Since hubs and I are spending almost every weekend in Woodstock, I have a better gage at comparing menus and who's offering what. The owner Isabel, is super pleasant and welcoming. The space is very minimalist and the dining room feels toasty good. She and her family are bringing a different spin to their restaurant- but they're also keeping in line and offering a Smoke Salmon sandwich for instance- which a lot of people enjoy (I do too) and other breakfast staples. Ventilation system is great and I didn't carry those food smells on me. These folks open at 9ish(?) and close at 9:30 I think and offer more than the 3 square meals. Again, the menu is all over the place, but options are almost endless. Despite the 'bland' or 'mediocre food' a few folks are complaining about, it was a simple breakfast pickup for me. The high-end prices in town are something hubs and I are familiar with- but it's also nice having a new eatery offering a menu that won't break your wallet.

One word... Wow. This place felt like HOME! We took a trip to the Catskills for a night, we come from about two hours away so I searched the internet long and hard for some good food!! I'm so glad I came across Allison's, everything was amazing!!! We were sat right away, menus drinks, etc all right away! Our waitress and waiter were absolutely attentive and such friendly welcoming people! Our drinks and food were exceptional. Chicken piccata and scallops, cooked perfectly! Flavors were authentic and delicious, it's hard to find a good Caesar salad and chicken and rice soup, as well as butternut squash soup, fresh guacamole... They had it all!!! Thank you Allison's for an awesome dinner and experience!!! Next time we're here we will definitely come back and visit! The real flowers on the table- so cute

Food was hearty and good but we waited FOREVER - an hour for pick up that supposedly would take 2 minutes. Was hard w a toddler but they were really nice. Got the salmon, a garlic chicken pasta w oil and garlic bread. Probably easier to dine in.

Spring white sangria. Yum.

Stumbled upon this gem while staying at a B&B a block away. So good we ate there 2 nights in a row. Unlikely spot for Italian but the ravioli and spaghetti with meatballs was great. Loved the special spring white wine sangria. Do yourself a favor and try it out. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Charming and cozy!

We had a great time here!! I grew up dining in this charming corner restaurant with all the beautiful twinkle lights. When it sold and Allison's opened, we hadn't been because they did not serve alcohol at the time and we like wine and drinks with dinner. Now they have their liquor license. The menu is big with a great selection, which is kind of rare in this town. The staff are all really friendly. They don't rush you, which is always nice. My son got a steak and likes it very rare - cold center. It was cooked perfectly. I got spaghetti, my daughter tried the falafel wrap, and my husband got the filet of sole. We all loved our food! The wine was good and my husband's Manhattan was made correctly. We will definitely be back!

My jumbo scallops were tender and surrounded by what seemed like rings of flavor...the center was creamy local corn, then leek & bacon ragout, and lastly a perimeter of basil pesto. I loved the little pile of sautéed chanterelle mushrooms on the side as well--They paired well dipped into the calf's liver demi glace reduction. I actually wanted the board head product( without paying sales tax on meat. ) I don't understand what they thought they were or think they're doing. It's illegal!!!! Best deli meat ever ,in my opinion ,is Boars Head & they have it. I've worked at numerous deli's (Adam's) and Supermarkets, ie: Waldbaums, where you had to actually Know what was taxable and not taxable . And I'm sure a bunch of other people can't agree that, meat , in this case,is not taxable. He knew he was wrong. He said he was in the middle of updating his system. But instead of fixing the problem, and taking off the sales tax so I could leave with the meat , I would have loved to have had & give them my money at $13.99 /lb (a bit high, but was willing to pay for it) He offered my money back so that the next unknowing, tourist, (tourist town, or regular person )in particular would go in there and actually pay him the extra bit of money he's getting that you don't have to claim on your tax forms because it's not a section on the form to pay tax on because MEAT IS NOT taxable. Including Band-Aids, aspirin, medicated shampoo. Just be careful consumers out there. I will let you know in about 60 days or so. Update btw need to say, I really don't want to be that person to "hurt " local businesses but someone needs to know and if it were a big corporation I'd post it too. I obviously didn't buy the meat nor have any thoughts of posting anything about the company.or I'd have had my phone out to screen shot it. Hope they have" fixed ". Their system. What a waste of a pound of turkey too. Rather than acknowledge the fact and sell it to me correctly.

We were pleasantly surprised to see how many people were there that night, which helped contribute to the atmosphere. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive. The flavors throughout this meal were well developed and delicious. The Tteok Bokki was so special and cheesy and delicious. Almost like a chewy rice noodle Asian Mac and cheese vibe. The wild shrimp dish was great. The components were all great, what was super surprising was how amazing the shishito peppers were. It was the best bite of that dish, which is saying a lot. The mains were equally as good. The flavors were all there. The steak was tender and delicious. The bibimbap was so good. We happily took home our leftovers. Overall, it was a great experience. We decided on Good Night because of the diverse menu, atmosphere, and we had eaten there while in town last year. We made reservations for the eight of us consisting of six adults and two children (both kids were my two year old grand babies). Upon arrival there were approximately four other tables eating there. Music played loudly in the background and people talked and laughed equally as loud. Our server came out and took our drink order. We had the babies seated in the center of the table next to each other with their parents on each side and grandparents across from them. They were extremely well behaved and quiet. We gave them each a book. Then, we put an iPad between them while playing a movie. Soon after, the assistant manager came over to our table and told my daughter "I'm going to need you to turn that down. Thank you"', and walked away. This was a kids iPad that even at max volume is not that loud. The sound of the iPad was in no way louder than noise level of the restaurant. The iPad was actually much lower than the voices at our own table. The babies were actually leaning in to hear. At that point I knew we weren't wanted as we were a family of minorities. We were the only table of black and brown people there. We shouldn't have to say that our table consisted of an anesthesiologist, a chemist, an engineer, executives, two babies, and a teacher. We shouldn't have to say that we are a very middle class family who dine in restaurants of similar caliber (often with the babies) probably weekly; yet, have never ever been asked such a thing. So we politely put on our coats and left. On the way out we did speak to the general manager who apologized and offered us a meal at a later time which we declined

Cheerfully greeted by a nice person who was thrilled someone was trying her restaurant for the first time. Seemed it would be a pleasure! Banter! Joy! The location is adorable - an historic inn with lovely interior stone walls a nice bar, a dining room hung with farm implements and your usual skinny staircase and sunny porch. Absolutely thrilled by the continental and sometimes quirky selections (sweet and sour schnitzel? Why not!) Ordered quickly, letting the waitress know of time constraints. Half an hour later she brought the salad course. An hour after that, the manager or maître d' -- she never said but she did clearly have some authority and was the boss of the waitress--stopped by to inform the table that the delay was potato pancakes. The chef had apparently felt compelled to make a whole new batch of potato pancakes from scratch. And therefore it was our fault the food was taking so long. This would make sense if the table next to us wasn't also waiting twenty minutes for buffalo wings. And if our waters had been refilled. And if there were apologies rather than resigned excuses. The explanation landed like a desperate attempt at humor as the Titanic made a turn directly for the iceberg. No offer of even a comped cup of coffee, not a glass of wine, or even a sincere wish that things would go faster. We could do nothing but feel sorry for her and her staff in this wonderful little local inn and wonder who the monster was who is running the kitchen -- my beef stroganoff was terrific but the plate that made us late held a couple of small sausages, a large scoop of red cabbage and three jam-lid sized mashed potato fritters which could just as easily have been replaced by literally any starch... it was ninety minutes start to finish in this bizarre mystery of a restaurant. Was the chef on strike? Having a bad day? His front of house worked so very hard to cover for him. I have only sadness for this glorious little place - my favorite kind, locally owned, delicious dishes, deep pours. But I will only go back when I don't have a long drive ahead of me -- or perhaps for a laugh with people from the City who don't know how to slow down.
