It was hard in the past to find places for all of us but now it's even more difficulty because we still have my extremely picky BIL who has stomach issues, GERD, and a multitude of other issues, and now we have a vegan-ish person who tries to stay vegan but eats cheese, dairy, and eggs. So finding places to satisfy everyone is more complicated. This place met our needs and can meet yours: dog friendly, vegetarian options, and has something for even the pickiest of people. Me and another person got the strip steak, my husband got the Philly cheesesteak, MIL got the wunderbar burger, FIL got salmon burger, the vegan-ish got a veggie burger and one of the salads, which he split with his wife the SIL, and my picky BIL got the chicken sandwich. He freaked out over the sandwich because he wanted to know why it was moist and not dry. His partner and I were like, "You can have fully-cooked, moist chicken. Dry chicken isn't the only cooked option." But he continued to have a meltdown over his perfectly cooked chicken. He did eat it though. Family can drive you nuts sometimes. Anyways, despite the meltdown, I think we were all satisfied with our food. I did find the mashed potato on the steak to be very creamy but everything else on the plate was very good. Steak was cooked medium-rare liked I asked. Overall, the place is very good, excellent food, excellent service, and it was a busy night.

Wedges were crispy and hit the spot. The burger was just ok not much flavor unfortunately. The chicken sandwich was similar. No sauce just seemed like baked chicken between buns--very dry. Fries were ok. It was busy, so a popular spot, perhaps we just didn't hit the jackpot on this night.

The interior is a nice balance between rustic and modern, creating a cozy/homelike atmosphere. The host and service staff were warm and welcoming, taking the time to explain both the menu and the nightly specials. We ordered the sea salt focaccia with whipped ricotta, the Maine mussels all'Amatriciana, the Argentinian red prawns, the heritage pork chop, and toffee pudding. The focaccia was baked perfectly, with just the right amount of seasoning. The biggest surprise, though, was the mussels. They arrived already removed from the shells, which I wasn't expecting, but they ended up being the standout dish of the meal. The prawns were good, while the pork chop had nice flavor, though I wish it had been a little juicier. The toffee pudding is highly recommended. Overall, it was a solid meal in a comfortable setting.

Then the server came back and said she was able to move us. This was not a great start - but we appreciated them accommodating us. Oysters were fresh. Delicious. On Mondays they have $1 oyster nights so we will come back for these Food took a really long time to come out after the oysters ... Frisée salad was ok. My husband ordered Mike frites and they were very good. Frites even came with some homemade aioli I had the fried chicken on a bed of mash. But they should serve mash in the side as the Chicken got soggy. It was all well prepared and tasty. We really wanted a side of cooked greens. But they do not offer vegetable sides...just the frisee salad. It's casual pub like feel. We like this place and will probably come back. And now we know - no side vegetables...

We started with the short ribs, and I could have eaten those all night! They had a large list of specials including the veal parm my husband ordered, he was very pleased with it. The bolognese I got was delicious and very flavorful. Our drinks were also very good. We were on our honeymoon and they gave us a free dessert which was so nice of them! We got the apple bread pudding. It was the perfect end to dinner with an espresso martini.

We had the octopus dish and wedge salad as our appetizers which were an absolute hit. The chorizo complimented the octopus perfectly and the bacon was perfectly tender and crispy on the wedge. For our mains, we had the chicken teriyaki and the wild boar bolognese. The chicken teriyaki could have used one more element like a chili oil/crisp but otherwise it was amazing. The wild boar bolognese needed a bit of salt but otherwise paired beautifully with the pasta. We ended with an espresso martini and the star of the night, the coconut bread pudding. When I tell you this may have been the best dessert I've ever had, I'm not kidding! Cute and cozy place and a great meal for a special occasion or a just because!

And I can continue to quote much chapter and verse of this posthumous writing as the writing is near and dear to my heart - the gallantry shown at Fort Christina and more, the true founders of New York and I wish the good Peter Styversant were here today to drop a heap of learning about America on you who don't understand not just NY history, but America! Love it or be gone. Arriving at 5:45, I hadn't inquired as to what time the first tee ball hits the air, turns out it's about 8:00am. So I practiced my sneaky bump and runs, flips and flops and Texas toe downs. And player worth his salt has to know a multitude of great escape shots. So I lead the field being put out as a single with twins and fours amassing behind me and being 2 years removed from the short grass (due to injuries) I was a bit nervy on the 1st tee, nobody knew who I was, everyone else knew each other. Fortunately I ripped a low 3 iron cut stinger and I was off, still walking and carrying my bag, adding layers and subtracting layers as it was nippy in the mountains. I love the classic shallow and square bunkering design originally popular with architecture from the 20's and 30's. The greens rolled true but I couldn't buy a putt, not much break out there and putting off the second collar is doable. The fairways were in the shape to be expected for early season golf, what I should have done was pay closer attention to the unseen creeks that protected some greens and ran out along the sides. But I was the first player and I needed to set a good pace out there. Overall, the course played extremely fair, I can't give the staff enough credit for such fine service for me, attentiveness and extremely friendly.

Rip Van Winkle holds a special place in my heart…read more Not only is it the closest golf course to my parents' home and as such the place where I've golfed the most in the past decade (not saying much), but it's also the first place my brother, my father and I played after my father went through some very serious medical issues. We weren't entirely sure if he would ever be able to play golf again, so it was an amazing feeling to get out and hit a few balls with him last year. My father is doing much better now (physically at least, not that much better at golf), and so we try and get out whenever possible. This adds up to a couple times a year here when I'm in town, and accordingly, I am very, very bad at golf. Please believe that no one is mistaking Rip Van Winkle for something that belongs on the PGA Tour. When Greene County hasn't gotten enough rain, you may see a few brown spots out there. It's only nine holes, and generally pretty flat. However, it's an accessible, family-run place that I feel lucky to be able to play. It's affordable (kids play free too), and has my kind of casual vibe. I love that if I forgot to pack a collared shirt, they don't hassle me. My dad says the owner John is a great guy, and I like that his teenage son is often riding around tidying up the course. It's a true family biz. They do a good job too; the greens are well-maintained, the mountain backdrop is gorgeous, and you can't be sad about any day you spend trying to knock a little white ball around a beautiful grassy area. I suppose I can be sad about how poorly I do it, but I'm pretty happy here overall.

This modern…read morerestaurant & bar is located on the top level 5th floor and is owned and operated by local restaurateur Dominick Purnomo. The place offers seating at the full service long bar with a great view of the Hudson River and the Town of Stuyvesant across the river, long high booth/high table . regular table seating. There will also be an outside deck with more seating overlooking the Hudson River. The food offers include a variety of raw bar seafood (oysters, littleneck clams, jonah crab claw, jumbo shrimp cocktail, shrimp ceviche), signature caviar, seafood entrees & appetizers, crab cakes, filet mignon, black angus burgers, lobster rolls, clam chowder, and salads. They also serve a weekend brunch menu with raw bar selections, caviar, salads, chowder, poached egg dishes, hash & eggs (caviar), burgers, lobster rolls, croissant French toast bake. The pricing is on the high side. I stopped by Day Line Oyster Bar + Kitchen for brunch recently. The place wasn't too busy and I could sit wherever I wanted. After I took a seat at a high long booth seat, the server arrived with menus and a bottle and cup of cold water. For a starter, the Citrus Ceviche ($14 plus tax) was nicely presented with a mole spread topped with the chopped shrimp, pico de gallo and a few thicker crisp tortilla chips. For a brunch entree, the Hash and Eggs ($32 plus tax) was served in plate bowl which had very firm roasted fingerling potatoes, shallot, bell peppers, baby spinach, Jonah crab, Maine lobster claw meat, Old Bay hollandaise, and signature caviar (eggs). This filling dish had an interesting mix of ingredients, but the overall taste was on the salty side. I did find a couple small crab shell in the crab meat, but otherwise the Hash & Eggs was a solid dish. After I finished my brunch, I had enough and got the check, which was $49.68 with tax and before tip. There was a QR code on the check, which allows for online payment through Toast. Overall, the food I ordered was pretty good and the server was efficient getting food to me promptly. I will have to come back when the weather is nicer, so I can eat outside on the deck looking at the Hudson River.

We did not visit the patio but other guests were using the space. This reviews is mixed with a 2 for service and a 5 for food. My favorite items were the crab cakes and nachos. The seafood tower was also a nice starter to the meal. Other have noted the nachos were stingy on caviar but we had plenty. So service, the restaurant was empty Friday night at 730. But the hostess sat us at a microscopic 2 person high top. We attempted to order two different bottles of white wine and neither were in stock. We settled on a third choice Sauv Blanc and did not receive bottle service. In fact the server was twisting off the wine cap while walking to the table and dumped the wine into both our glasses. We had to ask for share plates which we dropped loudly on the table not placed in front of each guest. I dont recall the server visiting the table after we ordered entrees. We had to request our bill, and wait to pay while we observed the server completing side work. During the wait to pay the bill we sat with three finished dinner plates in front of us. The plates were not cleared. I truly expected the steps of service to be higher considering this restaurant is associated with Yonos in Albany.
