This review is for the restaurant. Went here with a few friends for dinner and everything was delicious. Had the fire cider drink which was refreshing, had the Brussel sprouts which were delicious and then the eggplant parm with pesto pasta. Everything was cooked perfectly. We've been going here for several years now, and continue to be thrilled that we have such a great restaurant practically in our own backyard. When people hear "restaurant at a golf club," they may think a stodgy menu of steak and potatoes. But this is a whole different proposition. The menu, which changes seasonally is creative, diverse, and full of surprises, like the tempura squash blossom, bang bang tacos, and lobster bucatini. The staff, including Lenny and Bria, always make us feel at home. And whether you sit outside or in, the views are stunning. read more

Ate at the The Green restaurant at the Copake Country Club. They seemed to have done a little renovation and opened up the reception area. We got seated on the side room and plenty of good spacing. It was October and they had s special Oktoberfest menu with Schnitzel, bratwurst and pats to salad and kraut sampler. The beer was light and refreshing. We had a filet mignon and tomato bisque. Somebody ordered the French Dip sandwich. And I ordered the Duck Ragout. We shared a dessert of Chocolate Torte with pumpkin ice cream. The waiter was very nice and helpful. Service was delightful. This is not my first time here but I wanted to make sure I got a review in and will certainly visit again. read more

Love the Greens. The food is usually quite good with a range of choices. We love the crab cakes and burgers. But it has been a bit inconsistent in quality. Pasta was very over cooked one time a delicious and well prepared the next. The service is quite good. Sometimes we sit at the bar and order food and watch the game. It has a fun vibe. read more

I don't usually post reviews after a meal out. And I am only posting this in the hope that management will take notice and "improve the experience" of dining out @ The Greens. I am not a newcomer to the Greens since having my second home here in Copake for almost 20 years. I've been there aplenty through the 20. The service was fine though scarce for an almost empty restaurant. Living near Astoria Queens with an abundance of Greek restaurants, I never pass up grilled octopus. Sadly, the grilled octopus I was served was overcooked and rendered tasteless. The lentil/andouille presentation was "pretty", but for the price, a very skimpy serving of octopus, perhaps a blessing in disguise since it had no real taste anyway. The burger was fine even with the soggy bread. I will visit again since I believe in supporting our local venues. But I hope they get the octopus right...next time. read more

If you want to enjoy a nice view and ambience the Greens is it-- but the dining experience is, well, awful. Very poor service, overpriced and a major disappointment. My wife and I ordered "Seafood fra diavalo" ($34 each) described as shrimp, clams, calamari and mussels" with black ink linguine. What arrived, after waiting an hour, was six mussels and one shrimp...that's not a typo ONE shrimp with a bit of soggy linguine. No clams, no calamari and, again, ONE lonely shrimp. Shameful! Overall, a solid 4 stars and I'm very grateful to have such a fine dining experience at Copake Lake. The restaurant itself is beautiful - brand new renovation, modern, clean, comfortable. Outside dining is wonderful, shaded and bug free. The views are fantastic. Mostly the golf course hills, a peak at the lake and beautiful trees. The menu offers great options for everyone - including vegetarian. We started with a grilled peach and burrata salad (nice to share) with orange and grapefruit sections and pistachio. It was DeLiCiOuS!! Very light and refreshing and full of great flowers. I had a Turkey burger with side salad - excellent and my husband had a Turkey BLT club with fries - his only complaint was it was light on the turkey. Fries were great. The service was very friendly but took a loooong time for food to come out of kitchen. Very long. 50 minutes from time we ordered til sandwiches came out. And service didn't check if we needed anything while we were waiting. We were not asked if we wanted anything to drink (bottled tap water is provided at table which was fine), nor did our waitress share the specials - we overhead another waitress sharing the specials. But if you're not in a rush and want to enjoy your company and the view, the food is certainly worth waiting for. read more

Great service & great food. Enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere but inside looked nice also. Our group had the following entrees: smash burger with fries, crab cakes (an appetizer on the menu but plentiful enough as an entree) and sauteed scallop, plus a couple of kids meals. The only thing that was not up to par was the Mac & cheese. needed more real cheese, thicker richer sauce & more of a crusty top. All of the adult entrees were superb and food came out quickly with superb service. read more

We had a fabulous dinner at The Greens last night. To start I had the fried Brussel sprouts, which had an incredibly delicious glaze. And the portion was huge. Then I had the Moroccan pork chop, which was the best pork chop I'd ever had (and I'm 62!). It was extremely juicy, well seasoned and accompanied by delicious apple slaw and mashed sweet potatoes. My friend had the salmon over celeriac and sautéed spinach. I had a bite. The salmon was perfectly cooked, which again meant juicy and perfectly seasoned. The service was excellent (all the more noticeable because we kept asking for stuff at different times rather than all at once). While not cheap, we felt we got a good value because the portions were huge, the service terrific, and the ambiance lovely. read more

The Greens Restaurant at the Copake Country Club is a Columbia County gem! You do not have to be a member to dine at this outstanding farm-to-table restaurant. Nestled just off the beaten path (Golf Course Rd.) adjacent to Copake Lake, the grounds are stunning and if you are a golfer I'm certain you would be in golfer's paradise. The way the sunset reflected on the entire scene, as I indulged in an order of the Country Style Duck Pâté with Cranberries and Pistachios, was so peaceful and relaxing. Our group of 13 dined on the deck overlooking the golf course and a small stage where they offer live music on Thursday evenings in the summer. The food was delicious, the staff was superb and if I lived 40 miles closer I would be here AT LEAST once a week! Yes, The Greens perfectly embodies all of the elements of a place that I would be happy to call "my spot". read more

We held our Rehearsal Dinner in August 2021 at The Greens at Copake Country Club and they did the MOST PHENOMENAL job! We highly recommend them for your next private event - birthday, anniversary, wedding, etc. We had dinner on the golf course, on the hill above the 17th hole, at a beautiful long table. The location has gorgeous views and feels very private and intimate. Kyleigh helped with the coordination of a seasonal menu, floral, candles, rentals, and set-up to ensure perfection! Kyleigh and team were extremely attentive with service - no one's glass was empty, and the food was delicious! We brought small speaker outside for some music and enjoyed the sunset while we ate. Midday lunch was amazing. Views were great, service was spot on. Maine lobster salad on a brioche bun with pea shoots, avocado and bacon was scrumptious. Didn't need the bacon but it satisfied my annual bacon allotment. The veuve vernay champagne was mild and quenching. The 'pigasso' burger had such great beef flavor. Loved that they used all local purveyors. The French fries were crunchy goodness. Don't pass on their homemade desserts. Yep, they make them all except the ice cream, but that came from great Barrington. The warm Apple blueberry crisp was insane. Decent portion size, not ginormous and not too sweet with vanilla bean a la mode. read more

The Greens is a real treasure. They have an excellent menu, tonight I had a cup of Rhode Island chowder and an entrée of seared scallops. There are three dining areas, an outdoor deck where we ate, a very nice screened porch and an indoor dining room. These venues adapt to the seasons and there might be no better experience than being on the deck on a soft summer evening or in the dining room with a roaring fire going on a cold winters night. Kyleigh is a an incredibly gracious host and manager and through her efforts and the work of a superb kitchen staff the Greens creates a wonderful dining experience. read more

Views never fail to delight and I like the new placement of the maitre de desk. Had the night's special duck; duck crisp and flavorful but would have liked if the peaches had been grilled and hot. Green beans tasted fresh and crisp but mashed potatoes were pasty and lumpy. Wish they would update the dessert menu. They have been serving the same desserts since they opened years ago. All in all still a lovely place to go for a meal; many menu items are a go-to staple! read more

The atmosphere was beautiful, which is why I'm giving this venue three stars. I ordered the wings, the calamari, and the summer salad with the grilled chicken. The wings were undercooked and I could tell before I even took a bite. The carrot sticks and blue cheese were the best part. The calamari was decent but very salty. The menu has something for everyone and all dishes are prepared with care. In winter it's so nice to sit near the 360 degree fireplace. Went for lunch on 7/1/23! awful experience! Server could not answer questions about the food, it took forever to get the food in the almost empty restaurant! I got the lobster tempura for $25, which was a tiny tail with greasy coating that was gone in 4 bites! Another got the crab cake sandwich and clam chowder, (waitress forgot to bring the soup until the rest of the meal). The soup was brown and tasteless and nothing like clam chowder! The crab cake tasted like a cheap frozen piece of cardboard! Another person got the steak, which was good, but so small for $25! The lobster and steak came with nothing else on the plate. We had to order French fries for $6 which again was very small and came out warm an not hot. All and all the service was terrible, the food was small, bland and overpriced. The bill with two drinks was over $100! I will never eat here again! Now I know why the place was empty!!! read more

My partner and had dinner here after a day of hiking. We were very excited about the menu. Unfortunately it was a bit lack luster. Service was lovely and I had a great Sancerre. The tuna appetizer was boring..tuna was cooked more than I typically enjoy as well. The Brussels sprouts, which I was looking most forward to, was over dressed, way too saucy and overwhelmingly sweet. The mushroom pasta was the highlight of the meal..very good..short ribs were once again boring. Finished was a delicious flourless chocolate cake. read more

First time going here was Easter Sunday and it was for their Buffet brunch. There were 12 of us and not one of us left unhappy or hungry. Before we even sat down they had us wowing the cutest napkin presentation(see picture) I've ever seen. Each egg contained a small toy. The food was amazing. When it comes to breakfast for me I like simple not fancy and they did it perfectly !!! I loved how they put danishes , cookies, coffee cakes and yogurt parfaits on a small table to the side presented very nicely and then the large table had all the breakfast goodies (French toast, eggs, bacon and a selection of traditional Easter foods . There isn't one negative thing I could say about this restaurant!! Our waitress was great too. I really wish I got her name because she gave us the best service we could ask for and compliments to the bar staff for the delicious drinks. Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion and we will definitely be back for Easter 2023!!!! read more

The atmosphere is totally great. Sat outside overlooking the golf course at sunset which was very nice. I will say half way through our meal my wife and I were so distracted by Shelob building the biggest spider web I've ever seen right next to us. Needless to say a bit discomforting. To the point this place is expensive and extremely mediocre. I got the spare ribs and my wife got the chicken and black beans. Nothing special at all. Chicken was cooked well and had a decent rub flavor but my god at the end of it all we spent $70 with no desert and one glass of house wine. Do you really want to drop that kind of coin on a "eh, that was ok" kind of meal? read more

A awesome setting, overlooking Lake Copake, that is a great find. I am fortunate to have spent many summers water-skiing on the lake. This is the finest place in the area and has great outdoor seating as well as an upscale menu that does not feel golf club stuffy. There is a upscale style menu, that is somewhat pricey but you can also order from their tavern menu, which serves up tasty items like deluxe burgers and stuffed burritos. They also do a great brunch. There are great views of the course with a limited view of the lake. If your in the area, you cant do any better. read more
