We (4 of us) came around 3:30pm on a Sunday. At first I wasn't sure if they were open and serving food. When we walked in it looked like just an Inn, and the dining room was dark. We continued inside and found the bar area. We saw that there was a group at a table. So, we continued inside and sat down. The staff is very nice, but very slow. The menu is very interesting. We ordered the spicy sausage with fig appetizer (This was the star of the show! we got another order!) 2 orders of butternut squash soup and grilled octopus for apps to share. We also requested more bread and were served fresh baked rolls that were so good! We ordered the pistachio crusted pork chop and shrimp risotto for entrees. The 2 people that ordered butternut squash soup were a split decision on it. One loved it the other hated it. I tried it. I thought it tasted really good but i don't think i could eat a whole bowl of it. It was too sweet. The Octopus was excellent! The Spicy sausage with fig was amazing. This is a definite thing to order. The pistachio crusted pork chop was very good. I didn't love the risotto. If i'm ever in the area and have a lot of time to sit and eat, I would definitely come back. read more

We and our families couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Millerton Inn for our courthouse wedding in town. The rooms are each unique and comfortable and the toiletries fantastic! The restaurant is not to be missed either--food is excellent, portions good especially for the price, and the service friendly and accomodating. It's cozy without being too dated or chintzy, a tricky balance for many inns. Every room has a fridge, which may not show up in the room descriptions online. Above all, it's the rare hotel where you really feel like the stay was a great value for your money. My only suggestions would be brighter lighting in the rooms, more varied coffees with breakfast (hard to suggest when Irving Farm is steps away, though!), and maybe extra blankets in each room during the colder months. Above all, it's a great place for people of all ages and needs to stay and enjoy the region! read more

Very nice location in scenic town of Middleton. Food needs a little more attention to presentation. Traditional eggs Benedict had undercooked watery eggs smothered in runny sour tasting sauce. Sausage and eggs dish came with dry toast and no jam on the side. Beef mousaka had overpowering taste of beef instead of balanced flavor of eggplant and potatoes. Although dish was served with a spoon, no bread or rolls were offered to complement and soak up the gravy. Service was sparse at best. We frequently had to look for the server. read more

Honestly this was so disappointing. We were hoping for much more. We had to keep flagging down the server. The appetizer of fried calamari was much smaller than we expected for $16. Calamari is in expensive. The food was not great. They split our steak entree and charged us $6 more but did not increase the vegetables as promised so we had to ask .... the steak was cooked well. Went to the Millerton Inn about a week ago. Awesome building. The drinks and food were great. But the service was to be desired. We met friends here for brunch and, overall, had a wonderful experience. Great ambience and pleasant service. Most of the food was great - one steak and eggs, 2 eggs Benedict, all garnished with salad and home fries and toast for the steak and eggs. My frittata was delicious but was accompanied by nothing.It could have used at least one of the aforementioned garnishes.I was still hungry so ordered what turned out to be the worst "scone" ever. It was served beautifully with homemade jam and a rosette of whipped cream but was either nuked to reheat or nuked to bake and had the texture of raw dough.What were they thinking? Staff was so nice that I did not send it back but probably should have.Also, there seemed to be a problem in providing water that was hot enough to brew our teabags but all attempts proved lukewarm. We would return again and just be more careful about ordering (and more vocal about scones etc.) as it;s such a nice place. read more

Clam chowder that didn't have pork had bacon and tasted floury, blue moon beer on tap tasted off. Both menus were stained and had one strikeouts in unavailable foods and wines. Looking for a nice place for a celebration, we chose the Millerton Inn - which was absolutely perfect. The setting, on the front porch - set back from the traffic - was beautiful. The layout was great; we could dine without feeling that we were on top of others. The staff were super friendly. The drinks and everything were well-priced, below what we've paid in most places. We ordered the crispy brussel sprouts appetizer - which was AWESOME and the star of the evening! The honey brought out the flavor without overpowering it. For our entree, we shared the beef moussaka (delicious!) and then the tiramisu and Greek yogurt cheesecake. Everything was superb and well-presented. Service was impressively friendly and quick. Food price / quality (value) rating 8.5. I'd give it a higher rating if the entrees included a little bread or something. The atmosphere is a beautifully restored antique Victorian inn. I had the Pistachio Crusted Pork Chop, which was a very large double cut chop, big enough to tip over the Flintstone mobile. It was cooked perfectly, and included mashed potatoes and a steamed vegetable medley of broccoli, carrots, and squash. The pork chop was great. The wife had the Shrimp Risotto and said it was very good. They have a limited, but well chosen draught beer selection. For dessert we split the house made Tiramisu that was certainly big enough for two and was very reasonably priced. I also had a cappuccino that was the epitome of a properly made cappuccino, creamy and textured throughout, with a beautifully executed drip design. Also on the dessert menu was a very reasonably priced Chocolate Souffle. They're open everyday but Tuesday. I liked the place a lot, even though it's a little costly. We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at the Millerton Inn and Eleni and the team made the night beyond perfect! While planning, Eleni was flexible in setting up a prix fixe menu with something for everyone. The food was fresh, flavorful and perfect for the night before the big day. We offered a choice between scallops, steak or stuffed chicken with an incredible salad and Banoffee dessert. We rented the main dining room and the ambiance was cozy and comfortable - fitting 40 for a seated dinner. They even printed lovely custom menus for us! After dinner, for welcome drinks we moved to the bar and outdoor area under the pergola with 50-60 guests and the bartenders were fabulous. I would recommend The Millerton Inn for any couple looking for an elevated and comfortable rehearsal dinner, a fun welcome party, or anyone looking for a place to celebrate a special event! read more

We wanted to like this place, we really did. The decor is lovely but that is about the only good thing about it. The service was all young ladies and was quite slow. We ordered Eggs Benedict and were both disappointed. The size of the eggs were the smallest that we have ever seen and while the overall presentation was good it didn't make up for the lack of food on the plate. These were bite-sized eggs. Also, the hollandaise sauce was tasteless. Some hollandaise has a mustard flavor, some has a lemon flavor, this one had NO flavor. The menu listed a cherry cider. I ordered it, but it turned out to be black cherry beer! Not even close. I hate black cherry flavor and this was bad. Wouldn't you think that they could make up a menu properly? We thought that it was quite expensive for what we actually got, which was not very good. Too bad. It was an attempt to do something quaint and charming but fell quite short of the mark. read more

Enjoyed a delicious meal at The Millerton Inn today! The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance with several pleasant rooms. We ate in the back room where the bar was; there was no one there but the staff was still very COVID safe, wearing masks and staying at a safe distance. My friend enjoyed a moussaka and I a simple, but delicious, cheeseburger. We also had a couple appetizers (feta and meatballs): both were delicious. A great place and reasonably priced! Sat on the porch and had a lovely time. Waitress was very young and got busy so service dwindled a lot a lot . Risotto was like none other I have ever had before and a big disappointment as instead of having tomato's and peppers with the shrimp the rice was actually served in a tomato sauce. Chocolate Soufflé was not a soufflé, but looked like a prepackaged lava cake that wasn't even served warm. Specialty Muse cocktail tasted like it was missing some ingredients as you could only taste Gin. But all in a good time was had and next time will ask A LOT A LOT more questions on the menu so won't be disappointed again. read more

Went here with my folks for New Years Eve dinner. Will NOT be back. Got the steak au poivre and the dressing was bland. The steak was all grizzle. My parents both had French onion soup which was dull as could be. For vegetable all they had were Brussel sprouts. Luckily they had a little bit of asparagus left to change out (only thing so far that tastes good). My father's fish was small and not much flavor for the amount of money. The only thing that was good was the cheese plate as the appetizer. I would not go back again, not worth the money. read more

When you pull up to this old inn it's nothing but impressive. There is a very nice al fresco area, but we chose to eat inside seeking the comforts of air conditioning. The service was great and it was very nice to hear about so many specials on a Tuesday. We have two young children and luckily they also had many kid options. The kids loved their food and we did as well. Every course was great, and it was a very nice environment to hang out in. The food took a little long to arrive to the table, but it's because it was freaking delicious and that kind of cooking takes time! Thanks for a great dinner! read more

Wow! A stunning inn with beautiful grounds. The large and inviting front porch is the perfect place to dine. We eat brunch here almost every Sunday! Delicious homemade scones!! So happy to have discovered The Millerton Inn. It's a great venue for parties of all sizes. We've had dinner in the past for 20 guests in the Tea Room and most recently hosted a party for 50 guests in one of the two larger main dining rooms. The dining rooms are gorgeously appointed and have the feel of cozy living rooms, complete with fireplace, piano, and warm decor. Eleni was absolutely wonderful to work with and was incredibly responsive throughout the planning process. The wait staff and bartender were warm and welcoming. Our meals were delicious (I ordered the salmon - highly recommend!). We will definitely be back! read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner tonight at the Millerton Inn. The service was efficient, thoughtful and attentive. Food was so good and fresh. You could tell that the chefs didn't cut any corners in their preparations. For instance, the Caesar salad dressing was homemade, lobster bisque had fresh pieces of lobster in it and even the table bread was freshly baked. On top of having amazing food and a nice waitress, the overall ambiance was so comforting. The restaurant is uniquely set in an authentic Victorian nestled on a hill. The fire place in the dining room gives the main eating area an exquisite aura. Looking forward to returning and trying more things off the menu. read more

Came here for a date with my husband on a Thursday night. Had to move our reservation a bit later, which they cheerfully accommodated. Asked to sit on the porch and got a lovely table with Nick as our waitperson. Got drinks quickly and heard the specials. Orders were put in and appetizers came out pretty quickly- nice because we were starving! I had the grilled calamari special and my husband the lamb lollipops. Both were pretty much devoured...very tasty. Got the "market steak" and my husband got the pork chop. I actually expected a piece of meat on a bit of arugula and potatoes- it was more like a steak salad. That being said, I would mention that is what it is...however, the ingredients were fresh and very good, and likewise my husband's pork chop. No room for dessert, but the menu looked good. Not cheap at $170 with tip all in, but a lovely date night meal. We'll be back. read more

Holy smokes what a find! We were passing through town on our way to Tanglewood from NYC, looking for somewhere to eat lunch. It'a Greek-inspired menu and everything we had was delicious, including some awesome Assyrtiko. We sat on the porch with a great view on a beautiful day, had impeccable service, and terrific food. My spinach fennel citrus salad was composed in a measuring cup. Looked lovely as a small side but $14? Was there even fennel? Ordered with a side of salmon , cooked medium $12. Chef did the best she/he could to cook to my order but couldn't. The piece of salmon was the smallest tail scrap (maybe 2-3oz, honestly the skin was 1/3 of the weight) that they likely had carved off for a dinner portion. The Millerton Inn is an absolutely beautiful space, inside and out. Very warm & inviting with a unique farm-to-table menu (tons of local produce), delicious cocktails and super attentive staff. Highly recommend the squash risotto or the New York strip (and creme brûlée for dessert). There's an adorable porch area for outdoor dining, but I sat at the bar (which is huge and beautiful); try their "Rose Walk" cocktail - so yummy! Good meal, but a missed opportunity! I just loved my meal (pistachio crusted pork chop), until I learned that the pork was flown in from New Zealand. In the heart of the Hudson Valley, and situated adjacent to the site of the Millerton Farm Market, this restaurant is sourcing their pork from the other side of the planet. Very disheartening, considering we drove past 4 or 5 struggling small farms to arrive at the restaurant. I realize this isn't possible for every menu item, but for this meal it was. I would be happier to patronize the restaurant knowing it was supporting farmers in our community. read more

We had to try the Millerton Inn, mostly to determine whether it's a worthy successor to the departed No. 9, and partly to find out how it fits into the local options for dining. The decor, classical Victorian, is appropriate for the setting, and it's pretty well done - the room we dined in was different than any we were in when No. 9 was here, so I don't know whether it's been redone recently or is from an earlier redecoration. The service was polite and a bit earnest, and that's OK. The dinner options are pretty straightforward, Greek-influenced, since the place is now run by the Four Brothers; the choices are pretty standard. We had a Greek salad (no surprises) and a Ceasar Salad, notable for its blandness and complete absence of garlic. Lamb loin chops and the pork chop were also pretty standard, though the accompanying vegetables (a little bit of carrot, some bright green broccoli, and some cauliflower) were indistinguishable from what it's in the freezer section of a supermarket. What REALLY need work are the menu itself, and the wine list. While presented as a 'seasonal' menu, the salad option that we both wanted was a grilled peach salad. When we ordered it, the server informed us that it wasn't available, "because peaches have been out of season for quite a while". We knew that peaches were out of season, but why not revise the 'seasonal' menu when the seasons change? The wine list is a story of its own - the errors are numerous. As one example, the wine list has a category titled, "French Sauvignon Blanc" that contains wines that are neither French (a Bisson Bianchetta Genovese, and a selection from Round Pond Winery, in Napa) nor made from sauvignon blanc grapes (the Bisson, a Chateau Simone blanc, and a Domaine du Bagnol cassis blanc). Funnily enough, in the category titled, "Other French Whites" is a Crochet Sancerre (a French sauvignon blanc classic). Clearly the wine list is not taken seriously here - that's not a problem for someone that is familiar with wines, but pity the couple on a first date that are just learning to sort things out - the last thing they should worry about is being misinformed by a clumsy and inaccurate wine list. Overall, a disappointment - nice setting, but don't go for the food. If you go for the wine, prepare to be amused by the wine list. read more
