We have had two exceptional meals at Fern. Located in a converted firehouse, the atmosphere is high end, but still fairly casual. Most of the food was bursting with flavor (no extra salt or seasoning needed). Unlike many other restaurants, I thought the mains outshined the starters. The ribeye, pork chop, and pappardelle with seafood were outstanding. I highly recommend the caramel ice cream with popcorn, peanuts, and fudge for dessert. It's decadent but worth it. Service was outstanding. We had the same server on both visits and he went out of his way to make sure we were happy.

Great service. Food was delicious. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. Make reservations. The place filled up quickly and it was a Monday night.

Less than impressed. The place is beautiful, service was fine, but the food was just okay and the prices for what you get were very high.

Once there the vibe feels rustic, historic, little speakeasy vibes. Service was fantastic. Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable about all the different wines available. The charcuterie grazing board was every and any thing you could possibly want, at least we thought so. Sooooo good!! The dippy duet of the tapenade and pistachio cream dip thing (sorry forgot the name) delicious. We ordered an entree to share and everyone raved about the lamb chops. Safe to say we'll be back. There is a parking lot across the street. Hard to see any signs on where you have to pay but it's not free.

Such a good deal, $40 for 2 glasses from their signature wine list and a charcuterie board of your choice. The server was kind and informative, very friendly and open to conversation. She suggested the board with smoked mackerel, served with warm bread, avocado crema, juicy cherry tomatoes and gherkins. Beautifully presented and so delicious. We loved our Pinots and of course I indulged in a second glass. Peace, The Happy Hour Huntress

We waited for some time for our food and weren't offered any bread. Which at first I thought was kind of different compared to other Italian restaurants or steakhouses which is fine BUT At the end of the meal, we saw the server proactively giving bread to all the tables around us. When I asked why we weren't offered any, he just said it was 'by request only.' Which is inaccurate coz I heard him say --here's some bread and olive oil to eat while you guys are waiting. We were well-dressed, smiling, polite, respectful and noticed we were the only Asians in the room. It honestly felt were singled out or ignored, especially seeing everyone else get better service. It was an unwelcoming experience. Even when we first came in we weren't accompanied to our table the guys just pointed --there that's your table. We didn't sit yet because the table was plated for 4 people and there's 5 of us. So when he noticed we're still standing he approached us and I said sorry I wasn't sure if this is for us because there's 5 of us and he said unapologetically "well you didn't call to reserve". Well even if we didn't reserve it doesn't mean we cannot get a little customer service.. like " I apologize for the inconvenience it's the only table available " or is there anything else I can offer to make it a little more comfortable for you and your family. Overall is a 3 over 5. Steak was good. The bread itself wasn't really a big deal it's just the being treated differently.

We rarely build our own pizza because the different specials they have are always so good. (Luigi's Favorite just so happens to be our favorite) The salads are always fresh, consistent, and packed right to the top of the container. I feel like I'm actually getting my money's worth. We also get the bruschetta. Something about their bruschetta is SO good. It's perfectly chopped, it has peppers, onions, tomato, and a tangy dressing that is nicely balanced and goes so well as a side with a savory pizza. We usually just order online (who doesn't love a nice and easy ordering process?) and pickup is always a breeze. If I order extra dressing it's always in there, they are always on top of making sure the order is completely together which I appreciate. Whoever helps us is always kind and willing to help us if we need anything else. Always worth the 15 minute drive.

Had the linguine with clam sauce and was so surprised how good it was. Then tried the shrimp pizza; this was good too, crust was perfect, no flop, but it could've had more shrimp, and the garlic taste was lacking. Prices were unbelievably cheap compared to places like this in the greater Danbury area. I'd be here frequently if it were closer to me.
