Morgan's in the restaurant in the Interlaken Hotel in Lakeville, CT. We were staying at the Interlaken so it was convenient to just pop down the hallway to eat. The decor is pretty sparse; White walls without any decorative touches at all. The menu was pretty sparse as well! Do not come here if you want a ton of choices. I have to admit though, that everything we ordered was very good: Lobster Roll Salmon - cooked medium rare per our direction House Salad - loved the lemony dressing Tempura Asparagus There are not too many Chou Ed for dining in Lakeville, but Morgan's is solid. read more

We ate at the Interlaken twice recently. On one visit, my "medium rare" hamburger spent too long on the grill and was black charred on one side, and was told that the kitchen was busy. On the previous visit, my Caesar salad had virtually no dressing on it, and my friend's chicken burger was tasteless. However the server was very good. Better luck next time. read more

The food was amazing the waiter was dry and maybe said all of three words but the food made up for it ... steak was cooked perfectly the potatoes where also just as good as he steak .. this place has better food in the hotel then most of the places around .. the meatballs and garlic bread was also delicious we would definitely come back read more

Went to dinner for what was ostensibly 'fiesta night'. There was minimally supposedly great guacamole, per the website. When we ordered the guacamole, we were at first told there wasn't any. OK - stuff happens. Shortly after, a plate with 2 small dishes appears - one with guacamole that is simply a cut up plum tomato and some avocado, and the other with some jarred salsa, plus a few tortilla chips. Terrible. For entrée's, we're offered a duck rice bowl and a duck quesadilla. OK? My wife orders the rice bowl and I have the quesadilla. Both are completely flavorless. Frankly the worst meal we've ever had out. $12 for the guacamole (!!??), and $16 each for miniature portions of greasy quesadilla and dried out rice. Not the server's fault, but this was over the top bad. We've been to Morgan's more than a few times in the past - never again. read more

"Light, fresh, seasonal, exceptional" We were in Manhattan earlier this week and had fantastic meals at The Standard Grill, Santina, Spice Market and Balthazar. But none of those meals was as wonderful as the meal we had last night at Morgan's Restaurant at the Interlaken Inn. We had Farro Risotto as our appetizer, followed by the chicken in preserved lemon broth. The meal was light, the right sized portions and every taste was exceptional. The only disappointment was that they ran out of bread by the time we sat down to dinner at 8pm. I can only imagine it would have been wonderful as well. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. The food was delicious from the fried pickled onion appetizer to the brown butter cake dessert. Our waitress Abbey was so attentive and we couldn't have asked for a better night. The live music was a nice touch as well read more

Dined here twice, during my stay in resort, which I also enjoyed quite a bit. Decor is simple yet elegant. Menu is creative, yet relatively small, without hot appetizers. Everything we tried had soul, and style. Our favorite were octopus and proscuito salad and filet of monk fish. The food is great. Very modern menu and very well prepared and thoughtful. The lack of more stars is for the crazy bad decor. Honestly, just paint the room white (wood trim too) and lose the dated glass partitions and that would be a 100% improvement. read more

Stayed at Interlaken with my boyfriend for Valentine's Day and ate at Morgan's for our Valentine's dinner. We had the "aphrodisiac menu" and we're surprised at how awesome the food was. First of all, this restaurant is hard to find unless you know it's within the Interlaken Resort. The name Morgan's was nowhere. I stood waiting to be greeted for what seemed like a long time. When finally seated our waiter was attentive, though he doubled as a bartender at a busy bar as well. He was good though. From the reviews I thought that this would be a casual restaurant which to me implied some choices that would be considered casual food - perhaps entrees of salads with chicken, sandwiches, etc. The menu was all high end, high priced food but for a burger - which was very good - that we both had. We went with literally 50 minutes to spare before a movie. The burgers were good and we had appetizers of salads. Kale salad was great. The field green salad - eh. Oh and the food took nearly a half hour to come out. Even the salad. The rolls were amazing though. Although they finally brought them out when the salads arrived.The wine was a very decent pour. read more

Without a doubt the most impressive meal I've had in the area. Food was fresh, creative, gorgeous and most importantly absolutely delicious. Service was perfect - attentive but not hovering, knowledgeable but not snotty. Cocktails were great, portion sizes were spot on and it was the perfect spot for a date with my husband. Stylishly small appitisers. Read tiny. Small entries and high prices may make this trendy. Good quality. Less is more does not really compute here. Breakfast is shameful. Uninspired menu, nothing you would wouldn't find at at a Holiday Inn. Pricing at the high end for a one egg omlet with very very limited ingredients. Shameful, the dinner menu is imanigabe, breakfast is bleak. Major disappointment. $17 for a marginal breakfast is unfortunate I pity those trapped at the hotel for breakfast. Disappointing. Order placed online. Ordered a house salad which should have contained "Mixed Greens, vegetables, honey toasted pecans, local apples, balsamic onions, and goat cheese. Topped with a housemade lemon-herb dressing" did not include the pecans or local apples for $12. The Fish and Chips were even more of a disappointment. Should have been called French Fries and Tiny Fish Bites. While the "chips" were ok, the "fish" was terrible. The menu indicates that it was "Beer battered Cod with Seth's house-made tartar sauce. Served with crispy fries." for $19, if it was cod (didn't taste or look like it) it was over cooked and had a vinegar flavor to it. And the quantity was poor, maybe three bites of fish. Ordered an extra side of fries for a total of about $44 including tip. Will not order again. The order was placed online indicating about a 45-50 minute wait. Not unreasonable on a Friday evening. Never received a confirmation of the order and the connectivity at the location is almost nonexistent so I walked in to be sure that they actually received my order, they did, but I had to wait another 12 minutes to actually receive my order. There were only 7 people in the dining room so not a crowd to compete with for orders. Staff was pleasant and helpful. read more

This is a brunch review. Last Sunday my wife and I stopped by to sample Morgan's brunch menu. We both selected the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. It was served with grilled asparagus. It was really good. We loved it. We also had two of their special "brunch size" Bloody Mary's which were also good. I did feel sorry for the poor bartender/mai·tre d'/waiter. We walked in at 12 Noon and were a bit puzzled in finding one guy running around trying his best to keep up with the number of customers arriving. Even more curious was the fact that there was a wedding at the Inn the night before. Didn't it occur to anyone that at least some of these guests might want to eat Breakfast the next day? Oh well, it was an enjoyable brunch anyway and we did leave an above average TIP for our sweaty friend. read more

Totally not what I was expecting, but the chefs took on an interesting and creative menu, and they delivered! We loved everything we had, from salads and soups, to the fish and brick chicken. The interior could use some work (e.g. turn off those high hats), but definitely a delicious meal prepared by attentive and talented chefs. read more

This place has the best bread. It's not just served warm before your meal but is nutty and flavorful and YUMMY. I got a strange margarita (strained into a tumbler) - v alcoholic and not sweet, so that part was nice. We splurged because it was a birthday dinner, so got 2 apps and 2 entrees and a dessert. The clam chowder was decent (but a very small portion), and the caesar salad was ordinary with like one anchovy, and also a very tiny portion. The scallops were my favourite part of the meal - they were humongous and served with a delicious orange sauce and yummy creamy grits like carbs and grilled asparagus. The sea bass was a tad overcooked, and served with potatoes and sugar snap peas. Not v interesting. The dessert - chocolate ganache with vanilla ice cream - was also not v special. The decor is a bit corporate-hotel like, but the service is very friendly and the bread alone is a reason to go back. read more

We only went to the restaurant because we arrived late at the hotel and this was a hotel at the hotel.however, we were very surprised by the quality of the food here. The menu was inventive, the ingredients were fresh and the food was very meticulously cooked. The octopus starter we had was cooked to perfection, the lamb was falling off the bone, squid appetizer had a delicate taste to it. We have lived in Europe and also have traveled internationally extensively; and this restaurant can stand the competition of many of those cosmopolitan restaurant. Even if you don't stay at the hotel, you should try this place. Service was also not overbearing, but very attentive, which are not often found around here. We'll definitely come back for the food. read more
