Friday night prime rib special $32
    Sherry C.

We are big fans of the Beatles so of course when we heard about this place, it was a MUST to check it out. The place did not disappoint! It's located next to a gas station which seemed a little strange. It has a pub side and a dinning room; separate entrance. Since we had our kids with us, we went to the dinning room. Strange they weren't playing Beatles music inside, but the decor and menu items are all very much Beatle centric. Plenty of seatings inside, casual setting. We were seated right away and our waitress was fabulous. I had the cranberry orange mule (drink special) and it was yummy! We ordered the calamari app (my husband suggested them to change the name to Octopus' garden - so if they do, thank us!), which was very good (crispy, well-seasoned) but wished the portion was bigger for $14. All the main courses come with a nice bowl of salad and they had warm bread for the table. I had the prime rib, which came with string beans, mashed potatoes. It hit all the marks! Everything cooked to perfection. Sooooo good! Hubby had the eggplant Rollatini (Rocky Raccoon) came with pesto pasta, so good too. All You Need is Love and Beer fish and chips were delicious. They batter was light and fluffy. Nicely cooked thick fries, nice portion too. We had to ask for 3 to-go boxes! The main dishes definitely made up the shortcomings of the calamari app. We ordered the Mac n cheese on the children's menu and it was NOT the Craft box kind, this was so much better. I couldn't stop eating it. It was cheesy goodness in a bowl. All in all, awesome meal, awesome service. I would rate it 4.5 Stars. We'll be back for more!! P.S. looks like they have outdoor seating in the warmer seasons. They also have a different price for cash vs card payment.

So accommodating to our large group! Our server, the chef's wife was so patient & helpful with our party of nine. Such a varied menu & delicious food! Very cute outside & in. Definite Beatles themed menu names, very fun! Delicious drink & meal specials. 10 stars!!!

We've now been here about seven times, and I've been adding a "consistency" rating to places that we've enjoyed more than three times. I'll give Blackbird Bistro a rating of 9 for consistency. This place is very consistent, food is prepared with quality ingredients, presented nicely, hot when required, and large portions. The only change I saw was the Shrimp Santiago had six shrimp instead of the seven I previously received, which is probably more of a means of dealing with inflation, as the price did not go up. UPDATE: We came here TWICE today as we spent our afternoon in the area. We figured we'd have dessert and coffee as we headed home. We split a "Peanut Butter Blast" cake a la mode, and had a couple ya' knows. The cake was excellent and the ya' knows were fantastic and priced right. Service has always been excellent here. Good enough to come TWICE in ONE DAY!!!

I have been to Blackbird Bistro a few times since they opened and all of the food is great, but the wings are amazing! The owners are always there to oversee everything and all of the servers are friendly and attentive. The Bistro is centered around the family's love for music, that is shown in the decor as well as the names of the items on the menu.

Good food and service. Good drinks too. Only one complaint. I had a pasta dish that had peas in it and they were hard as a rock.

We were seated away from the fireplace next to the window. It's usually nice to be sitting near a window. But when it's dark and on a cold evening, all we enjoyed was the cold air coming through the window. Oh well. Our server came promptly and described the specials for the night. We received very nice bread and my preference-olive oil as we made our selections. My wife chose the cucumber martini and I went with the IPA. Both were satisfying. In my experience, when ordering a drink, it is considered a 'course' and we're able to enjoy the drinks before receiving the appetizers. Not tonight. I took 2 sips from my beer and the appetizers were served. This would be the rhythm of our meal-we were rushed. The poached and roasted carrots were absolutely wonderful. The sauce was spicy, perfect for me, a bit too much for my wife. The soup was absolutely delicious. I love hot soup on a cold night and this hit the spot. Our entrees were the baked duck in basmati rice. My wife liked the rice a lot, she prefers duck on the bone rather than as 'pulled', but it was flavorful. The scallop dish was absolutely superb. The scallops were sweet, tender and cooked to perfection. Our desert was the Armenian Coffee cake. This dessert is not too sweet, the pastry is made with pistachio nuts and the blueberries were fresh and delicious. A great choice. The food was 5*. The ambience was 3* because we were so cold that we needed to wear our coats during dinner. The service was 3* because we truly felt rushed. The value was 4*, dinner was more than $100/person.

I had dined there many times before and to visit the owner and head chef, Serge Madikians. Each and every time, I was treated like family by the entire staff. As a vegan, Serge made sure to accommodate me with wonderful plant-based dishes; the kitchen is always ready to provide a vegan friendly meal and will accommodate all dietary requirements. Dishes are inventive and exotic, along with being plated like artwork. As for the ambiance, Serevan is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been to. Both my partner and I are in the art field, painter and art historian respectively, and we appreciate the high aesthetics that are found in both Serevan's decor and dishes. We cannot say enough great things about this gem, tucked away in the Hudson River Valley. A must go-to destination!

It was founded by husband and wife Mikael and Alicia Moller. Mikael started out as a restaurant apprentice in Sweden when he was just 13. He immigrated to New York City in 1981 and worked at several high-profile restaurants. Mikael met Charlotte when he began working as a chef for Charlotte's Catering where she was also working. After marrying in 1989, they bought the catering business. After a trip to Millbrook, they fell in love with the area and wanted to open a restaurant in town. They purchased the building that housed Allyn's Restaurant in 2006 and renamed it "Charlotte's Restaurant". The location was built in the 19th century as a church before being converted into a theater and finally a restaurant space. My wife and I recently dined at Charlotte's while we were visiting Millbrook. We were celebrating our sixth anniversary with a stay at Wing's Castle nearby. Charlotte's came highly recommended. We really liked all of the Autumn decor adorning the dining room. We started things off with some Autumn-inspired cocktails: I had the "Apple Pie Martini" while my wife had the "Warm Cider with Spiced Rum". They both really hit the spot. For entrees, I had the "Cornish Game Hen (with quinoa, butternut squash, pickled sweet peppers and rosemary sauce) while my wife had the "Creamy Lobster Mac & Cheese" (Maine lobster, bacon bits, herbed bread crumb with mixed greens and citrus vinaigrette). We both really enjoyed our food! After the dessert menu came around, we decided to share a delicious "Apple Galette" (local Granny Smith apple, sweet pastry crust, vanilla ice cream). It was a perfect way to end an excellent meal. We really enjoyed our experience at Charlotte's and highly recommend them for anyone visiting Millbrook!

There were a few tables inside, and more outside. Reservations are recommended for outdoor seating. The ambiance is bright and cozy, like you've stepped into someone's very clean home kitchen. Our server was very nice, explained their specials and menu, as well as baked goods they had available to sell. (The bagels are large but delicious!) They have cold drinks available in a cooler, and of course coffee. For brunch, I had the steak and eggs. The steak was tender and well seasoned, as was the egg. The potatoes were seasoned as opposed to home fries, and they were sooooo good! I would buy them frozen to cook at my residence if I could. The bread was also made in house (but check because not all are) and was fluffy perfection. Great food, menu and service! I'm not sure how they make that magic from what looks like a small kitchen, but they do!

We reached out to Sophie's ahead of time because we had a few vegans in our party (myself included), and were looking for somewhere with a few options for them. They were super pleasant and responsive to our questions, and told us they could make us a custom cake for the occasion (we ordered a coffee cake, which was already vegan). They gave us a private room for our party, and allowed us to bring champagne for mimosas. Not only did they have vegan options, but they had a special menu with several additional vegan specials made up and printed out for us! We got the vegan blueberry French toast (awesome), the vegan harissa toast (wow), and the vegan tofu sunrise wrap (honestly so good- so many non-vegan places don't know how to actually use spices to make the tofu TASTE like something, but Sophie's knows their stuff!) they also had a house-made vegan ranch dressing that was the best dressing I've ever had?? The non vegans got pancakes, eggs Benedict etc (all the classics) and we had rave reviews all around. Our servers were wonderful. Everyone LOVED the coffee cake, including the non vegans, who couldn't tell the difference. It was so moist and decadent. Coffee was really good. They had some rad looking pastries in the case (several vegan!). Also, not sure if I'm just traumatized by living in NYC, but the prices were GREAT- super affordable. We will definitely go out of our way to make a stop back in the area soon to head back to Sophie's. Can't recommend them enough, it was the perfect end to our weekend.
