Have had several good brunches here; but yesterday was a bad one. Ordered the eggs and corned beef hash, which is served in a bowl over diced potatoes. Everything was very oily, and the eggs ordered over/medium were definitely over/hard. Strangest were the potatoes -- okay, I know they started life as the little purple ones, but they were dark throughout. No whiteness inside to speak of. The whole meal was heavy, greasy, and for the price disappointing. I'd go lower than 3 stars, but my companion's BLT was very good. I guess my advice is -- avoid midweek and go on the weekend. Awesome breakfast and lunch spot right on Tinker Street. Kind of in the middle and right by the public parking lot. They are only open for breakfast and lunch though they don't open super early. Make sure to check the times. There's a hallway you walk down to get into the restaurant. It's a nice space though not huge. There was also a patio area outside but down the block a little bit. When I went it was somewhat busy but there wasn't a wait to get a table though. Not sure if they were a little short handed but service was a little slow but besides that very good. This is our third morning here for breakfast and every morning it's been sensational. It opens a little bit late for Forrest. It opens at nine. We usually are up and around much earlier. Yesterday, my sweetheart had a goat cheese omelette, and she loved it. It was perfectly cooked the first morning. We were here. We had the granola bowl and that was amazing too. Today my sweetheart had the shrimp and grits, I had eggs, sausage and sour dough toast. All excellent. I highly recommend this delightful spot and you will enjoy! read more

We stopped here for brunch before driving out for a hike, and it was pretty packed - I felt lucky to grab a table without much of a wait, but there were quite a few groups behind us. At first glance the menu appears vaguely Mexican-inspired, but the cafe's decor and ambiance gives more of a New American feel. I was pretty excited to dive into my burrata sandwich. For me, the dressing is make-or-break for any salad, and I was pleasantly impressed by the side salad here. I was pretty ravenous and happily downed the entire sandwich. On the other hand, the fries were a little thick for my preferences (though that's probably best to slow me down!). It was a solid choice. Just be aware that it's not a quick grab-and-go type of meal (though they do offer takeout), nor is it light fare. We were wandering through Woodstock and needed a place to grab lunch. I happened to notice Oriole 9 and remembered hearing great things about it, so we decided to stop in there. The place was very crowded and resembled an upscale cafe with a small bar. The food was farm-to-table and reminded of something I might see in Los Angeles, as many of the menu items were healthy, hearty, and natural. I began with a Matcha Latte with almond milk, which was bold, earthy, and creamy. It was one of the better ones I had ever had. Similarly, I had an incredible Egg White Omelet with my additions of tomatoes, peppers, and mushrooms. It was super fresh, well-seasoned, and not at all greasy. It was served with a small salad of greens, carrots, and grape tomatoes. These tomatoes were a bit mushy, but I enjoyed the dressing on the salad. I also received Rye Toast, which seemed like it had come from a bakery, rather than a supermarket package. My companion had ordered a Pretzel Bun Burger with no cheese and a side of fries. However, since our server did not write down the order, we were a bit nervous. A few moments after, she had come back to the table asking if he wanted breakfast potatoes or fries, to which he repeated "fries". When the burger came, it looked amazing, but was also slathered with cheese, so he had to send it back. When the corrected version arrived, we were impressed with the thickness of the patty. He said the burger was excellent, and I loved the few fries I snagged. Aside from the ordering snafu, we had a great experience at Oriole 9! The menu was vast and offered something for everyone. My wife had a Benny with a side of corned beef hash. Not a traditional hash but some tasty chicks of beef made it enjoyable. We also snuck in an appetizer (yes it was brunch but who's judging). My favorite spot in Woodstock! Been coming since I'm a little kid, and appreciate its unique and cozy vibes even more each time I get to stop in. The service is always friendly and efficient. It can feel a little chaotic when they are super busy as people who are waiting tend to jam up the entrance. Hi, I am a frequent customer at Oriole 9. Have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Today when I received my grilled cheese, I noticed that half of the sandwich had a huge chunk of bacon (leftover from a previous order in the pan I assume) fried into the bread. At first I thought it was just burnt cheese. It was not. This is also the SECOND TIME this exact situation has happened within a few months. When I told the waitress she was very nice and even took the meal off my bill, I am very grateful for that. She also said "my boss said next time to specify that you're vegetarian so there's no cross contamination and so they wipe the pan in between." Even if I was not a vegetarian, I would not want the food from a previous order cooked into my food. That is just unacceptable. Not wiping the pan between meals is unacceptable. The correct answer should have been "We're so sorry. We will correct this. It shouldn't have happened and won't happen again." It is upsetting not because I'm a vegetarian (which yes it does bother me) but even more so it just shows carelessness on the kitchen staff for paying customers and what they order. Does every customer need to ask for the pan to be wiped down before their meal is cooked? That is just unreasonable. read more

Wonderful place, located in the heart of Woodstock, amidst shops and eateries. The size of the restaurant is deceiving from the entrance, it appears small but is very spacious inside. The staff are all very nice, great menu, lots of choices, especially for vegetarians. We just finished doing to Railroad Explorer and wanted to find a place to have a good lunch near Overlook Mountain. Saw this place on TripAdvisor and said it is Californian. So lucky we did come in and try. I had the Cajun trout tacos which came in 2 pieces and the fish was lightly fried and the cilantro crema was oozy. That was $10 and so worth it. My son got the homemade corn beef hash skillet and wow the corn beef hash was one of the best ones we had. So much that I ordered a side of that for $6. My wife got the lobster Benedict which she thought was just okay and wished there were more lobster. For drink, I got the Vietnamese ice coffee and that really hit the spot as well.
