This is like a family restaurant. Honestly the food around this area has been iiiiittte. And this is honestly been the best food my wife and I have ate on our little weekend trip here since we staying nearby for an event. Get the papusas. The revueltas is bean, pork mixed: recommend that one. We did 2 of those and 1 spinach and it was perfect. We also got huevos y pancakes. The pancakes for some reason I feel like they make it similar to the papusas cuz it was like thinly sliced. Ain't nothing by wrong with that - just noticing. I liked it thin cuz it was filling enough to get our sweet kick. Service was on point. They got a small bar which was cool. Inside there is a few seating and you could probably bring a stroller but honestly just bring the car seat and put it in one of the chairs. Once I saw papusas on the menu compared to the typical benedict bs at other restaurants with the flower and string light, and cursive chalk board writing menus, I was like babe we gotta go here for breakfast lmao. Hella random but Google said this spot was busier than usual and there was like 2 tables seated when we got there. Not a knock on this spot at all - just don't trust everything your phone tells you besides what I write into the ether that is the internet for my Yelp reviews. Ok ADHD rant done. read more

Kind and welcoming staff. Great spot for dinner before heading to Bearsville. Pan seared Salmon was expertly prepared. Will be returning.

This place has a comfortable, homey feel. We were seated right away and the service was friendly. I opted for the papusas instead of the standard brunch options. I got one of the spinach and cheese and one bean and cheese. Both were just good. They definitely needed the cabbage for more flavor. I'd suggest asking for more cabbage since they only give you a tiny ramekin. I also tried my mom's croissant French toast which had strawberries and, if you're into sweets, it's a good choice. I liked it better than my own meal. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. read more

Alba's Kitchen - bean & cheese papusa, spinach papusa - Pizza Near Me - Woodstock, New York

I stopped here for breakfast while staying in the area. Awesome mom and pop's place. Like most of the stores here it's a house that's been converted to a restaurant. The parking lot is small and full when I was there but I was able to find parking right out front. It looked like they had outdoor seating but it was open when I was there. The inside is nicely decorated and it's a homely vibe which is awesome. I was here for breakfast and it was delicious. Presentation was on point as well. The eggs were very fluffy. I'll definitely be back and I'd like to try the dinner menu next time. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!... we also tried various dishes and nothing disappointed! read more

Alba's Kitchen - Cheese and bean pupusa! - Pizza Near Me - Woodstock, New York

We've lived in Woodstock for the past 6 months or so and have had a chance to hit most of the restaurants in town. Alba's is by far our favorite. We've been there several times and each time has been fantastic. The food is on point, serving sizes are large, and the prices are reasonable (good luck with those last two at some places in town). Our favorites are the papusas and the french toast! The staff makes you feel like family. After only a couple of visits, they recognized us and greeted us with such kindness. The dining room features art from local artists, which is a nice touch in an artsy place like Woodstock. If you're in town for a day or long weekend, you'll be remiss if you don't eat here. read more

Listen, Alba knows what she's doing back there. The pizza oven wasn't on the day I came but I had a fabulous little (big) lunch. I ordered the turkey club and it came with thick delicious slices of bacon, best bacon I've ever had. The tomato soup paired so well with my sandwich I almost licked the bowl. I also was curious about the pupusas--I LOVE pupusas, so much so that my mom learned how to make them from her Salvadoran friend. That's how much I would beg her for pupusas. I tried one revuelta which was beans, cheese, and pork and one zucchini. Delicious! Of course they both came with curtido (slaw) and salsa. I was burnt out on menus in the area all serving pretty much the same fare. The restaurant looks like a home, very cozy...with seating on one side and a bar on the other. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting. It's far enough away from the crowded touristy area and not a bad walk. read more

Perusing restaurant menus in Woodstock, and you notice trends. Same food, or types of food at most places. Kale Caesar seems to be on top of the hit parade; not by popular demand in my book. One thing we did see on Alba's menu, (and nowhere else), was "Pupusa". Caught my wife's eye, so she read up on this place. Fantastic story, and worth the read by the way ! We stopped in on Labor Day, for lunch. It's located down a ways, from the busy part of Tinker Street, and resembles a small home rather than a restaurant. It's small inside, with about 10 tables, but we had no problem getting seated. The lunch menu was ample, and we ordered a bunch of stuff. First off..."Pupusas" Both flavors (See picture for details) Tomato Soup, Pulled Pork Sandwich and Turkey Club. Everything was great. From the Soup, the great bread on The Club, the thick hot bacon that topped my Pulled Pork...But the MVP of lunch; Pupusas. We should have just ordered that {with the Soup} I noticed a huge pizza oven in the back. We'll have to go back when they fire up "Big Red" read more

This place was amazing just enough out of town you can actually park your car and get a table without waiting. There is a tiny pub/ bar area and a far size dining area. The wine was a nice size pour. We were waited on my the owner who could not have been any friendlier, she even shared some trade secrets with us to explain how the shrimp risotto was so deliciously creamy. By far the best I have ever had it came with grilled shrimp. We got the eggplant rotini stuffed with goat cheese and pesto these were so good and as an appetizer it was actually large enough to be a meal. We got a salad which was a very generous portion. The pepperoni pizza was so crispy and cooked perfectly. The! BLT was very good the bacon was just how we liked it crispy . Everyone was very efficient and welcoming read more

Homey vibe on every level (welcoming & personal service, house made everything, in an actual house lol). Located on the west most end of Tinker street, worth the 5 minute walk from the busier part of town (note - plenty of parking in their lot right out front) Reasonable prices and truly delicious food, much of it made in a wood fire oven you can see from your table. We were served by Alba herself, so you know it's real home cooking! As other reviews have mentioned- this is Italian cuisine with some Latin influence options (family is de Guatemala) A tad warm inside on these hotter days, but once you sit the temp balances and you're grateful for not being cold. 10/10! read more

We visit Alba's all the time and are due for a review. We just love it. First of all, the food is wonderful. Everything we have had is great. My personal favorite are the enchiladas, risotto and pizza. Had dessert for the first time tonight and it was absolutely delicious (flan). The service is impeccable and so friendly. We have mostly ordered take out but have also dined in. The decor is nothing fancy inside, but it feels like you're in someone's home which is so nice. Everyone we have sent here has had the same experience. Visit ASAP! read more

While this Guatemalan family isn't Italian, the owner herself, has acquired plenty experience and is now cooking her own version of Italian fare. Not for nothing, I felt a bit reluctant when hubs suggested we try Alba's for a Thursday dinner. And the slight whiff of corn masa smell in the air when we walked in, added more uneasiness and wished their Italian-inspired meals didn't have Latin flavors. Taking over the now closed, Woodstock Pizza Theater on Tinker St in Woodstock, Alba's slid right in. It has a smallish bar off to the left and their dining room on right running straight to the back with their pizza oven as a centerpiece. For now, these folks are serving beer and wine. I decided on a glass of Ruffino Pinot Grigio and hubs did a Guatemalan Famosa beer and said it has the quality of a regular beer. Each of our Caesar and Arugula salads were plentiful and could've been a meal by themselves because they were hefty. Hubs' was mixed well with enough croutons. Anchovies could've taken this simple Caesar to the 10th power. My Arugula had freshly sliced strawberries and fresh pecans and subbed regular balsamic+oil instead of the suggested Dijon dressing. Hubs' pasta primavera was a full meal in a bowl and nicely done with butter, garlic flavor and lots of veggies-then added grilled shrimp to his dish. My eggplant parmigiana was generous on top of linguine. The sauce these folks use is more on the seasony side and one I always tried to run away from as I love an only-tomato sauce sans herbs. It's more out of preference- but my dish was good as it was and the sauce held its own- thank goodness it wasn't runny! Service was pleasant and the dollar amount, fantastic. These folks aren't messing around and, they're somehow catering to the Woodstock energy in their own way. read more

I came for the avocado toast and woman-owned business. 6 months later, this is my regular go-to. Chicken Soup, Arugula Salad, Salmon. Nothing on the menu dissapoints. A locals lowkey favorite spot, in a house with full parking and a movie theatre next door. How we leave... every.single.time. Get you some! read more

I absolutely love this place, They are some of the nicest people I have met and the food is very delicious .

Definitely off the beaten path of downtown Woodstock, but absolutely worth the walk. Perfect black bean soup as a warmup, followed by a delicious huge hamburger My wife had the quesadilla and she completely stopped speaking while she enjoyed it. she couldn't make her up her mind which condiment was better: the pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream - just kept smiling while she finished it. Don't get up to Woodstock that often but next time we do, this looks a lot like our next lunch read more

We ate lunch again at Alba's on 11.18.24 and it was delicious. Alba is a very warm person and excellent cook! The prices are very reasonable. Her son is a very nice young man and does a good job as well. Alba's is such a cozy place. There is plenty of parking on site and is just a few blocks from town. We really enjoy the food and friendliness and look fw to our next opportunity to stop here as we are 2.5 hours away. Thanks again for a great lunch and visit! Carol & Dave read more

The food was pretty descent. Despite a sort of low-key coffeehouse atmosphere, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. My rating is not about the food, but about the billing system and thus the overall experience, which left a sour taste. We ordered a plain pizza, 1 salad, 2 apple juices and chicken parmigiana. I saw that apple juice was $7 for large and specifically asked for a small. Ok, so they brought 2 large juices which comes to $14, which I didn't realize until later. Then every single item listed on the bill had additional change in cents. For example, if something costs $15 on the menu, it now showed $15.68 etc. Then additional tax added to the total. It was explained to me that this was a 4% charge because I was using a credit card. Two others at the table paid with credit cards so I did the same. Just wish there had been more verbal communication about their policy since when people are in a group they are mostly talking and not reading the small print. I did have cash with me and wish I'd known. I accept everything so far, except my son saw one of the other people's bills and no additional cents/charges were written after each item even though she was also paying with a card, so wondered if I was singled out. I do know that charging the maximum of 4% to use a card is optional, not mandatory. I'm originally from CA where it's illegal for vendors to charge an additional fee for using a card, so for out-of-staters that could be off-putting. read more

I went to Alba's tonight with 4 people as the reviews seemed good and we were looking for a quick dinner before a show. The building in no way represents the place. At any other time I would have driven by and not stopped. That would be a big mistake. The staff was wonderful and helpful and the food was amazing. I had steak tacos where the steak was like butter and did not just come out in one piece like so many others. My wife had the turkey club and loved it. Our friends had the chicken enchiladas and ate everything. The place was charming and nice. I will be coming back regularly and recommend this place to everyone. read more
