Nana's a little café right on Mill Hill Road in Woodstock, NY and honestly, it kind of has (almost)everything. It's one of those places where you walk in thinking you're just grabbing a tea/coffee and a quick bite and suddenly you're deciding between getting a quinoa bowl, bagel sandwich, oatmeal, salad or falafel. Somehow, they pull off the menu for every eating lifestyle without feeling cramp. It works for everybody. They have your breakfast basics covered: eggs, rolls, wraps, toast or whatever carb you're in the mood for. If you have a sweet tooth, they have pastries, if you're on a 'healthy' kick, they have bowls. I had The Lox Works and it actually lived up to the name. Plenty of salmon, red onions, a sliver of creamy cream cheese how I like it (I skipped the capers, personal choice). The bagel itself was fresh and had that perfect crisp on the outside and a chewy inside. Except, it's little on the doughy side, and the tomato slices were also thick- but still, the sandwich was tasty. Service was great and considering Nana's is literally on the main strip in Woodstock, the prices are surprisingly chill. A better name for this place would be "Nana's Regular Old Cafe". We were hangry, and our initial destination (in the same strip of shops) was unexpectedly closed, so we stopped in here for a late lunch. The food was... fine. Oh boy. I saw the great review and stopped by last Saturday. I ordered one americano and regular coffee. The one who worked there didn't know how to make the coffee. She made an espresso and handed to me. She told me to put the coffee which is already prepared on the counter. I asked her why she didnt put the hot water with espresso. This place opened up within the past few months and I was looking forward to having breakfast here when I arrived to town. It was just a short walk from the Woodstock Lodge where my friends and I were staying. The Lodge isn't open for breakfast so this place was perfect. In fact it's the first Café on the walk into town. The place has it's own charm, it's not huge but there were several tables both inside and out. The bathroom was clean and the employees were very nice and helpful. In fact when I ordered my bacon, egg and cheese the guy at the counter asked me if I wanted my eggs over-medium. You sir are a mind reader because that is EXACTLY how I take my eggs! The bacon was crisp and the cheese was melty. Honestly Bread Alone a bit down the block may be a little bigger and have more of a selection but this breakfast sandwich I got at Nana's beats it with a baseball bat! The fact that I didn't have to wait in line for 20 minutes to get it only to find out that it didn't come out the way I wanted it was a major plus. (See my Bread Alone Review for details on what happened there.) Don't get me wrong Bread Alone is decent but when they are busy quality can suffer a bit. We decided to eat in and they even brought our food to us which I wasn't really expecting. The iced coffee was also delish. My son had a bagel and it was super fresh. My roll was warm and sooo soft it felt like it had literally just come out of the oven. The bottom line is, don't look past Nana's just because the space is a bit more intimate. They make up for it in service and quality. The prices are also very affordable on any budget. We grabbed breakfast here before a hike and everything was spot on. Easy to get in and out and the prices were pretty good.

This was my first time eating here but i was very impressed. There were multiple menus to choose from when you order at the counter. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. After ordering we sat and they brought the food out to us. Very cute and quaint dining room. I had the Crazy egg sandwich. It was delicious. I have never had a breakfast sandwich with lettuce, onion and tomato on it. So good, but might be a little messy if you are wearing nice clothes. I cant wait to go back. read more

This is the "wish we'd tried this place first" kind of café. We got the crazy egg sandwich w sausage, a couple of the personalized sandwiches, and a couple of coffees. The coffee was very very tasty. Which I took as a good sign. The sandwiches were off the hook. The crazy egg had everything you can imagine on it... a party in your mouth!! The two other sandwiches, which were for my husband, also received rave reviews. Yes, we wish that we'd tried this place earlier! The chicken cutlet panini with mozzarella and basil on baguette is one of my favorites. The blueberry muffins are always delicious and the corn muffins with the raspberry jam center are even better.
