We started with the gambas with garlic oil I could literally put on everything, the home made pierogis that were outrageous m, and the scallops that were like butter. I was so happy with the chicken breast in the porcini- tarragon cream sauce and my boyfriend loved the steak. It was cooked perfectly medium rare. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The restaurant is super cozy in a farmhouse setting. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back!

We also asked for a side of bread, worth the $2 and I ripped chunks to dip & soak up the rich mussel broth. Mmm!!!! Before ordering I wasn't sure what I was going to eat so I couldn't pick between a red or white wine. Orange is usually my go-to if it's on a menu and that night they had one option--slightly tangy and tart while still very smooth... My husband's calf's liver was cooked perfectly medium rare, a nice thick cut too and it came with a tall creamy dollop of whipped potatoes. My jumbo scallops were tender and surrounded by what seemed like rings of flavor...the center was creamy local corn, then leek & bacon ragout, and lastly a perimeter of basil pesto. I loved the little pile of sautéed chanterelle mushrooms on the side as well--They paired well dipped into the calf's liver demi glace reduction. Dessert was a bitter chocolate pot de crème that I finished off with the last bit of my 2nd glass of wine. Perfect. If I'm in the area again I will definitely be back!

We were not disappointed. We were seated promptly by our lovely hostess, and Shaun immediately came over to recite specials and to take our orders. He was attentive and we knew we were in good hands! We started with the Dr. Fox Cocktail: Angostura bitters, Bulleit Rye, Apple Liqueur, Dry Curacao, and Sweet Vermouth, which was perfect. It was accompanied by a hummus trio to spread on the bread. There was also a delicious foccacio. Next we were served a perfect salad, delicately dressed, and what made the salad so delightful was that the lettuce was torn into manageable pieces. A pet peeve of mine is large lettuce leaves that are difficult to wrangle, and this was not the case here. There were also tiny bits of cauliflower that gave the salad a nice texture and crunch.  I had the Stuffed Artichoke and my husband had Shrimp Gamberi on an Arugula salad. Both were substantial and beautifully seasoned. We had two glasses of an Argentine Tomero Malbec. It was a generous pour. For the main course, I had Polla al Limone (Lemon Chicken) over spinach. A simple dish done well. My husband had the Halibut special, a classic Mediterranean baked halibut with tomatoes, capers, and olives. So good that he finished it all...a rarity for him. (The halibut was pricey and it would be appreciated if the price was mentioned when the specials were gone over. Perhaps we should have asked.) We finished with a Sorbetto al Lampone, a tart raspberry sorbet in a dark chocolate shell and sliced.  And as we left, our sweet hostess brought over Lucianno, the most adorable puppy, to send us off with puppy kisses! We definitely will be back...especially for the wild boar ragu over pappadelles. One nitpicking observation. The entrance to the restaurant was a tad shabby. We mistook it for the service entrance. It needs to be spruced up to match the superb food inside!

Usually I like to pick what dishes are considered popular on Beli but I really wanted to try them, they're just too hot and not very satisfying to kick off your palate. The bread was okay, a little (very) messy and the hummus trio was cute but not necessary or particularly tasty. The pollo al limone and gamberoni e fagioli were good, a little dry but not a deal breaker. Service was nice, the place is pretty casual so I would recommend for a regular casual date night, it's not fine dining--the experience was nice but not luxurious. What I mean is it's cozy and inviting, not elegant and stuffy. Cheers!

Even though it is a classy setting with views of the dam in the outdoor seating area, they are also very family friendly. They have a kids menu and their drinks came with cute plastic cartoon straw cups. The $17 option comes with ice cream for the kids too. This place could have easily gotten 5 stars if the food wasn't all overly salty (even my kids didn't even eat their fries). It's a pity because everything was plated so beautifully. Their octopus appetizer was not fresh and their ahi tuna was overcooked. When our waiter took our order he didn't ask what our kids wanted to drink even though a drink came with the kids, and we were charged $4 for each when we ordered them drinks. They quickly corrected it when we pointed it out but we also had to remind them about the kids' ice cream (which they mixed up the kids' order too). They did waive the cake cutting fee as we had a party of 10. The only dish that was enjoyable was their roast chicken with black rice. Nevertheless, it is still a nice place to visit if you want a place to relax with a beautiful atmosphere and welcoming to families. The staff were all very friendly and kind.

When the manager had them to remake, the bartender DID NOT only added more bitters that made it worse. I would NOT recommend this location to anyone who wants to celebrate a special moment with someone. I would also recommend this location come to the city to shadow the staff of the NOMAD location to learn what dinning experiences should look like!

We've yet to run into an issue finding a seat, the food is delicious, the portions are monstrous, and the prices are utterly reasonable in this economy. Their menu offerings veer toward Tex-Mex, and I'd suggest playing in that sandbox, especially for first-timers. In my limited experience, that's where their kitchen truly shines. Special mention for the birria tacos platter, which is plenty of food for two people, unless you're both ravenous. The venue seems to get some reliable lunch traffic, and staff are constantly bustling. On our first visit, we were served by one of the co-owners, who was wonderfully personable and attentive, even when she was very clearly hustling around making sure things were running smoothly. During our most recent visit, she wasn't present, and I felt like we spent a good bit of time trying to flag down a server--both to put in an order, and again when we were ready to pay our bill. I've certainly heard from multiple proprietors in the region that staffing is a bit of a headache, so it stands to reason that Main Street Restaurant isn't immune. This is a lovely representation of the charming local gems you can find in Saugerties. Considering its small geographical footprint, this hamlet punches way about its weight class in terms of character and quality.

Great food and friendly service…read more My boyfriend (has celiacs) and I went there last week after Main St was too packed. He remembered there was a newer Mexican spot next to a gas station so we went there. They didn't have any eat in guest but did have several pick-up and take out orders while we were waiting. The vibe is a typical chill mexican spot. A few booths, a few tables, open kitchen behind the counser and a TV facing the kitchen playing the news in Spanish. I got 2 tacos ( Tue/Thur chicken, beef, al pastor and chorizo tacos are $2.50 each) and he got enchiladas which come with rice and beans. Everything came out to less than $20. My boyfriend enjoyed the enchiladas and my tacos were good. I got an al pastor and a chorizo. The chorizo was a bit dry but flavorful. The al pastor was juicy and delicious. Both came with double corn tortillas, onion, cilantro and a radish slice and a chipotle sauce. When we asked if the flan had any flour or wheat the cashier asked the chef and confirmed it didn't but the chocflan did (chocolate cake on the bottom and flan on top). When we got home and unpacked the take out we saw that the woman at the counter added a note to his food confirming that the enchilada sauce and extra chipotle sauce didn't have wheat. It was such a sweet thing to do and showed that they care about their customers. Definitely will be ordering from there again.
