Great food and service! We were traveling with 2 small dogs when our car died. We got a ride from the mechanic to a hotel and were thrilled to find this restaurant. They had nice outdoor seating were we actually were able to take the dogs off leash and they were able to roam while we ate in a fenced patio area. the waitress even provided water with ice for the dogs on a very hot day. great experience! read more

I chose Abby's Restaurant solely because it was only a 4 minute detour off of my route journeying from near Albany to back home in southcental Pennsylvania. It was certainly easy access to I-87, the timing was perfect for lunch, and with ample parking. I was pretty much ignored upon my grand entrance, there being no sign to see attendant for seating, or seat yourself, etc. After several minutes I was seated and handed a menu by a reasonably pleasant server. After approximately 10 minutes she took my order which was a mushroom cheese burger with fries (Photo included) My aforementioned burger was cooked to my preference (medium well) and the fries were hot with a small portion of cole slaw.The portion size was generous and certainly tasty. Several minutes after having been served, my waitress did come by to ensure that all was to my satisfaction, which it was. The restrooms require a key, no doubt to discourage use by non patrons driving past with the need for a biological break. Unfortunately, the men's room was out of order, thus inspection by me was impossible. There is a higher price differential when paying with a credit card which I suppose is a necessity in this high tax state. There appeared to be regulars here as a couple other patrons said things such as "good seeing you" and " see you later." I got what I wanted and the location in respect to the interstate was perfect. read more

Stopped by Abby's today for the first time. I happened to be in the area shooting (photographer) and it was POURING all day. I got hungry and was desperate to stop before it got too late. This was honestly the first place that I found and I'm not super picky. At first it was deserted, which was a little strange, but then it did start to fill up after I was seated. I'm sure the rain kept most people away. I got some mozzarella sticks and then a burger with fries. I must say it was all delicious and I was STUFFED when I left. Went for the taco buffet, awful wilted lettuce seemed like left over chicken I told the waitress to take it away. The manager told me she watched the video and saw my grandson eating his taco. He took 3 bites! I reduced to pay for any of it except our beverages she added $6 because I was going to use my card. Place seems to be shady!! Went here for my mothers birthday. She enjoyed her favorite meal; prime rib. Her bf enjoyed the chicken sandwich, and I absolutely loved the chicken fingers. Lovely food. Abby's opened quietly awhile back and I mostly missed it. Located by the old Howard Johnson hotel off the beaten path, I haven't actually visited the place, instead opting for take out to try it. The menu is very diner-like with a large range of options. Most of it is American and Italian. Portion sizes are very generous. I got the chicken francese with pasta with garlic and oil. The francese was heavy on the egg batter and needed more lemon. Pasta was a solid rendition of one of my favorites; plenty of garlic without it being too much. This came with a Cesar side salad which was solid as well as bread. Was able to carve out lunch for the next day. They also have prime rib which we got too (didn't try) and was more pricey which is interesting. That got a good review as did the veal Marsala and potato skins. A lot of those dishes don't go together but whatever. Will probably give this another shot and try something different. Definitely has potential as I don't think I got their best. read more

I went here for Father's Day with my father and service was very slow. There was no silverware on the table so we waited for a waitress but nobody came so my dad got up to get it. When he asked for it, the waitress seemed bothered. I asked for a straw and the server never came back. I finally got one from another waitress. My dad got the breakfast buffet for $22.99 along with a coffee and OJ. When the bill came we were charged for OJ so I questioned it and the cashier/waitress said that only one was included. I explained that the menu says "tea, coffee AND juice" was included with the buffet. She insisted that it meant only one was. Last time I checked, "and" means all are included, not just one." She refused to remove it so the buffet ended up costing $26.99. Definitely not worth the price. I got avocado toast with egg whites on top. I got charged an extra $4.00. Seems a little high but okay. Tomatoes weren't cut up or mixed in even though I asked about this and was told yes. Super thin bread. Overall, bad dining experience and will not be going back. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The Young kid that called himself the manager, was the rudest, nastiest employee I've ever dealt with. I was one of two tables, when I walked in. Waited over 30 minutes for my food. When I asked, I was attacked with F Bombs from the "manager". He called me every name in the book. I don't believe he was really the manager. I've tried several breakfast options on separate visits. Pancakes are hot buttermilks, the eggs are huge and farm fresh and the cup of fruit is ripe and varied. Hurray! We tried to eat here as it had pretty good reviews. Parking lot was empty (not a good sign, but it was a bit early for dinner at 4pm). But when we arrived, both bathrooms were out of service, and the hostess/server didn't seem too upset by that. I don't think the health department would allow a sit down restaurant to have no working bathrooms. We left pretty quick. read more

Our server was very pleasant. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was not only very tasty , the portion was huge. The sauce definitely tasted homemade, and the cutlets were not frozen. The dinner came with a nice salad and warm bread. I enjoyed the salad and bread so much I couldn't even eat half my dinner.
