Tap House Grille Windham premium burger
Sam Z.

Stopped intoTap House Grille after a day of hiking the Catskills. Spacious Bar setting with dinning seems to be a locals hangout.. I went with their signature Tap House Premium Burger ($17) with fries. The burger came out as I ordered Med-Rare, but was Charred and greasy. (My wife ordered the same and was also cooked the same). A signature dish should have me wanting to come back... Overall, I wouldn't order this again. The fries though !!! Were stellar ! Just how I like them, crispy outside and tender inside .... every bite was a crunch ! I complimented this dinner with a 9 Pin Cider Draft ($6) which was crisp and refreshing. Service was good, pretty attentive and helpful. Covid precautions were being followed.

Really enjoyed this cute spot right by Windham mountain. I went with a few friends on a Saturday evening without a reservation - but there were seats at the bar so we grabbed them right away. The bartender was super nice and she recommended some great beers for us for our tasting flight. We also enjoyed the Truffle Fries and the Buffalo Cauliflower - so good!

Very nice restaurant in Windham. Had dinner here on Tuesday early night so there was no wait and the staffs were very friend. We dined inside and the tables were spread out. Order sausage and pierogi , tater totes, cauliflower Buffalo and burger. Pierogi was good but blend which I guess is good balance for the sausage which was salty but good as well. Burger was ok, medium rare but the outside was burnt. Cauliflower was good. Standard tater totes. Overall I enjoyed it.

Excellent waitress Morgen kept coming back Constantly to see if there was anything we needed the whole time we were there. Their cauliflower appetizer was really good. I had the fish and chips also very good. The only thing is when you ask for a mix drink it comes in a baby cup. No literally he comes in this tiny Glass . I asked for the next one to be larger and she said oh you want a double and I'm like are you kidding me this is like a shot glass. But all in all everything's really good but quite expensive when I came to the drinks.

Definitely a local joint. Came here after a day of hiking up Black Mountain. Service is friendly and staff is wearing masks. Had the Tap House Burger which was nothing special and doesn't live up to a "signature" burger. I had a medium rare burger but the char on it overpowered the burger. It was stacked with fixings which dwarfed the burger. The fries on the other hand are a 5! Delicious and crispy! Huge selection of beers.

Octopus & seared ahi tuna salad special
Rebecca B.

Great atmosphere, clean & newly renovated. Staff is friendly & music/TV is subtle in the background. Food & beer was delish! We had 2 amber ales, the crab cake appetizer, the octopus & seared ahi tuna salad special of the day, the pork belly bao buns, & the Irish coffee for desert! A little too much dressing on the salad, and too much sauce on the bao buns, next time I would ask for it on the side everything was perfectly cooked & very tasty We'll definitely be back!

Jimmy O'Connor's Windham Mountain - Burger

Jimmy O'Connor's Windham Mountain

(34 reviews)

Where "Old School" is the Only School…read more Jimmy O'Connor's isn't trying to be a trendy gastropub; it's a family-owned authentic Irish bar that has been a Windham staple for over 50 years. It's the kind of place where the floorboards have stories and the Guinness is poured with the respect it deserves. One of the coolest things about Jimmy's is the family legacy. The bar is a pillar of the local community, and if you're a fan of snowboarding, you've likely heard of John (Johnny) O'Connor. John grew up right here in Windham and went on to become a famous professional snowboarder (riding for brands like CAPiTA). His roots in the mountain culture are baked into the atmosphere of the pub, making it a "must-visit" for anyone who respects East Coast riding history. The Burgers: While the menu covers all the pub classics, the Jimmy O's Burger is the go-to. It's a no-nonsense, juicy mountain burger that hits the spot after a day of freezing temperatures. Pair it with a basket of "Jimmy Fries" and a pint of Murphy's Irish Stout. The Vibe: It feels like a true public house. You'll find a mix of muddy hiking boots, snow pants, and local regulars all sharing the same space. Entertainment: Jukebox & Felt The back of the pub is where the real fun happens: The Pool Table: It's almost always in use, serving as the center of gravity for the room. The Jukebox: It provides the perfect soundtrack to a night of "just one more drink." Whether it's classic rock or Irish folk, the music keeps the energy high without drowning out the conversation. Note: Just a heads-up that Jimmy O'Connor's was recently listed for sale to find its "next chapter" after 50 years of family ownership, so now is the perfect time to visit and experience its classic legacy!

Service throughout the meal was painfully slow. There were only two waitresses working the entire restaurant, including an outdoor patio area. They were doing their absolute best, but it was just too much for two people. One of the waitresses didn't seem too familiar with the table identification system. Whenever a dish came out from the kitchen, she'd ask several different tables if the dish was what they ordered, seemingly having no idea which food belonged to which party. This was pretty bizarre and inefficient. They apparently forgot about our order. We ordered nachos as an appetizer, but they didn't come out until after our entrees arrived so we didn't end up keeping them. They did provide complimentary chips and black bean dip, so we at least had something to munch on during the long wait. We saw several tables that received no service at all, and folks had to get up to ask for their check and pay, because the waitresses were just too busy to stop by the tables. For an entree, I had the veggie tacos. The veggies included squash, zucchini, and onions. An order came with three tacos, as well as red and green salsa, black bean dip, and rice. The rice was mushy and the black bean dip wasn't super flavorful. The tacos were okay, but made better by a dousing of habanero hot sauce. My husband also got a horchata beverage and enjoyed it. I felt bad for the waitresses, as there was only so much they could do. In addition to serving, they bussed the tables, prepared the drinks, and served as hostesses. The food could've been better, but the service really tanked the experience.

My son had a burger and fries but it wasn't so great but I guess thats what you expect at a mexican place; its what he wanted. I had the shrimp fajitas and I loved the overall meal and taste but I was a little disappointed it only had 5 shrimp; 6 wouldve been better, 7 would've great for 20 bucks. In any case, again there are very limited options especially at this price point in the area so in all likelihood, i'll be back here when i'm in the area.

I would like to go back but they have so few options it's not fun or interesting. Yes the food is good. I wish I could get the "full" menu at the bar. I like the fact that you see food you don't see anywhere else up here and it is quality and well prepared. What really bothers us is that you must order everything up front. This is really unacceptable. My wife and I like to order appetizers with appropriate wine and then see which way we are going. Yes I understand it's easier on the kitchen but comm on: you only have three entrees!!!!! The bartending couple that work there are knowledgeable and professional. The wine is not kept behind the bar bit strangely kept on a table outside the kitchen. Really awkward. That being said we would like to go back but will not due to the aforementioned reasons. It's a shame this place could be great.

We tried the prefixe menu and added on bread and tuna compote which were not a part of the prefixe. The bread was great and the tuna compote was lacking - I feel like it was just two crackers with tuna overpriced. The whiskey business was my favorite drink- it reminded me of the secret menu item, whiskey business from dear Irving, an amazing bar in nyc. They had interesting wines and they didn't have any open bottles for us to try so when we did buy a bottle it was much said that we would need to pay for it even if it would be bad so we just bought the bottle without having an option to try. Usually in fine dining restaurants you'd be able to try it regardless and see if you want the whole bottle. Prefixe time A few of us ordered the Wagyu steak and the Amish chicken (recommended by the staff). The only pescatarian who was also the birthday girl got the fish! The fish wasn't bad but had bones and was cold. One of our friends also had a cold chicken dish when mine was hot. We had a very interesting mix of temperatures going on as there was only one chef that night so some of our food turned out really cold which we did not expect. We brought it up to the waiter but nothing was done after we mentioned it so I feel like this definitely is not fine dining at all. We ended up heating up our Amish chicken over the candle and I feel like nobody really paid attention or cared that the food was cold. The Wagyu steak was over salted but I definitely think the Amish chicken was the best thing we got but it was not like worth the price point we paid. We also ordered dessert and I think that part tasted pretty good. Overall it's just ok. I feel like they could do better on service and their food temperatures. Their cocktails are great!

There's table service and a bar with two of my favs, Sam Adams Winter Lager and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on tap! Although serving sort-of-the-same food as downstairs but fluffed up name-wise and price-wise, at least you get to sit down at your own table instead of being crammed in cafeteria rows. Plus you can relax and defrost a bit while looking at the gorgeous scenery. And the french fries are pretty darn good! The wait staff is friendly and we were not rushed out of our seats to turn over the table. The rest room lines are shorter upstairs too. The only bad thing is that searching for an outlet to recharge your phone is a chore. Rich skiers can just use the special recharging stations that charge you $2.99. So much for freebies at a ski resort. I hope airports don't catch on to this.

Windham mountain needs to het rid of this bartender. Ruins what windham is known for a fun and friendly place. After an hour of waiting our food never showed. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, and while most things were enjoyable, the star of the meal--the 42 oz porterhouse--left us a bit underwhelmed. It had decent flavor, but it was served cold, which took away from the overall experience. We also asked for it to be sliced, but it came out only partially cut, which felt a bit odd and made it harder to share. While it's not on par with high-end steakhouses in Manhattan or Long Island, for what it is, Lily holds its own as a decent local spot. I'd definitely consider returning to give it another shot--there's potential here with a few tweaks.

Our meal here was a bit disappointing. Their menu is different from what was posted online. We came wanting to try the brussel sprouts. Online, they were described as crispy, but turned out to be roasted with pancetta. I was also eager to try the soft pretzel. Online, it mentioned it came with a three cheese sauce, but at the restaurant it was served with beer cheese, which I can't eat. The name of the restaurant literally has "cocktails" in it, but they were out of nearly all of their fall cocktails. That being said, we tried to redeem the experience. Our waitress was friendly and kindly let us know that the sulphur in the tap water might be irritating, so we ordered bottled. The house salad was nice and fresh, and I loved the tanginess of the lemon vinaigrette. The mac and cheese was a generous portion size. It was a bit bland and could've used a sharper cheese, but it was very creamy with a nice baked top layer. The broccoli side was tasty and well seasoned with garlic. The onion rings were very crispy and also a good portion. My husband had the New York steak and enjoyed how buttery it was. However, they initially forgot to bring him a steak knife and it was hard to flag down a waitress to get one. Overall, we left full, but our expectations were not quite met.
