I'm shocked by the inconsistent reviews and the overall low rating. Union + Post was one of the few restaurants in the area that's actually opened on Wednesdays and it happened to be right next door to Eastwind where we were staying so this was a convenient spot for drinks and dinner. The restaurant is spacious and gorgeous. It was pretty empty but not shocking given it was a Wednesday night. The staff was super pleasant, especially the bartender! The drinks and the food were all excellent and came out in a timely manner. I had the ski bum cocktail (basically a pomegranate margarita) and my fiancé had the smoked old fashioned. We shared the whipped ricotta app and the white flatbread. Both were super flavorful, creative dishes, and a decent portion that left us both satisfied. I would highly recommend Union + Post, even if it's just to relax by their fireplace with cocktails.

Wow ! What a great find ! We had been up here for the weekend. Friends recommended union and post. Glad they did. First of all they make excellent cocktails. One of the best old fashioned's I have had. Yes they use Luxardo cherries . On to the food. We started off with the spinach artichoke dip and Brussels sprouts as well as the honey ricotta and also an order of meatballs. All the appetizers where outstanding. I had the ricotta cavatelli with duck Ragu which was amazing. My other half had the chicken pot pie which she she really liked. Highly recommend union and post of

We enjoyed the brunch after staying for one night with family at Union + Post : hotel + restaurant. The brunch was very good. Everyone seem to enjoyed their dishes. I ordered the burger (medium rare) it was juicy and the salad was fresh. I also enjoyed the view from the window.

Very nice environment and service was good too, saw a lot of reviews said, service was sucks, but be honest, the time when we were here Sunday night around 6:00pm service was pretty good, food wasn't take that long, about 25mins our appetites are came up on the table. And all Flavor was very good. Pasta and fish &chips were good, But not the NY strips, came out was very dry. Not recommended to order this. But definitely should try out the meatloaf. Yummy

Where do I begin?! My boyfriend and I had a romantic and loving weekend at U+P and we could not have been more happy with our stay. The hotel is located in such a convenient place, so close to all the Catskills has to offer. The hotel itself is chic, hip, and unique - it has everything you need to enjoy a nice weekend in the mountains. The room was clean, stylish, and super comfortable! The restaurant served delicious food and cocktails and had a lovely ambiance. The owners made themselves available and checked-in with us- they seemed lovely. Thanks, U+P!!!

    How they treat musicians...
    Rebecca N.

The service was great, staff was friendly, but the food was meh. And management treated my partner's band like a bunch of hobos that didn't deserve to be paid for an hour of work, even though 7 humans took literally an entire 12 hours of their weekend to dedicate to providing music for their 4th of July extravaganza. They still haven't been paid for their time.

We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, and while most things were enjoyable, the star of the meal--the 42 oz porterhouse--left us a bit underwhelmed. It had decent flavor, but it was served cold, which took away from the overall experience. We also asked for it to be sliced, but it came out only partially cut, which felt a bit odd and made it harder to share. While it's not on par with high-end steakhouses in Manhattan or Long Island, for what it is, Lily holds its own as a decent local spot. I'd definitely consider returning to give it another shot--there's potential here with a few tweaks.

Our meal here was a bit disappointing. Their menu is different from what was posted online. We came wanting to try the brussel sprouts. Online, they were described as crispy, but turned out to be roasted with pancetta. I was also eager to try the soft pretzel. Online, it mentioned it came with a three cheese sauce, but at the restaurant it was served with beer cheese, which I can't eat. The name of the restaurant literally has "cocktails" in it, but they were out of nearly all of their fall cocktails. That being said, we tried to redeem the experience. Our waitress was friendly and kindly let us know that the sulphur in the tap water might be irritating, so we ordered bottled. The house salad was nice and fresh, and I loved the tanginess of the lemon vinaigrette. The mac and cheese was a generous portion size. It was a bit bland and could've used a sharper cheese, but it was very creamy with a nice baked top layer. The broccoli side was tasty and well seasoned with garlic. The onion rings were very crispy and also a good portion. My husband had the New York steak and enjoyed how buttery it was. However, they initially forgot to bring him a steak knife and it was hard to flag down a waitress to get one. Overall, we left full, but our expectations were not quite met.

I would like to go back but they have so few options it's not fun or interesting. Yes the food is good. I wish I could get the "full" menu at the bar. I like the fact that you see food you don't see anywhere else up here and it is quality and well prepared. What really bothers us is that you must order everything up front. This is really unacceptable. My wife and I like to order appetizers with appropriate wine and then see which way we are going. Yes I understand it's easier on the kitchen but comm on: you only have three entrees!!!!! The bartending couple that work there are knowledgeable and professional. The wine is not kept behind the bar bit strangely kept on a table outside the kitchen. Really awkward. That being said we would like to go back but will not due to the aforementioned reasons. It's a shame this place could be great.

We tried the prefixe menu and added on bread and tuna compote which were not a part of the prefixe. The bread was great and the tuna compote was lacking - I feel like it was just two crackers with tuna overpriced. The whiskey business was my favorite drink- it reminded me of the secret menu item, whiskey business from dear Irving, an amazing bar in nyc. They had interesting wines and they didn't have any open bottles for us to try so when we did buy a bottle it was much said that we would need to pay for it even if it would be bad so we just bought the bottle without having an option to try. Usually in fine dining restaurants you'd be able to try it regardless and see if you want the whole bottle. Prefixe time A few of us ordered the Wagyu steak and the Amish chicken (recommended by the staff). The only pescatarian who was also the birthday girl got the fish! The fish wasn't bad but had bones and was cold. One of our friends also had a cold chicken dish when mine was hot. We had a very interesting mix of temperatures going on as there was only one chef that night so some of our food turned out really cold which we did not expect. We brought it up to the waiter but nothing was done after we mentioned it so I feel like this definitely is not fine dining at all. We ended up heating up our Amish chicken over the candle and I feel like nobody really paid attention or cared that the food was cold. The Wagyu steak was over salted but I definitely think the Amish chicken was the best thing we got but it was not like worth the price point we paid. We also ordered dessert and I think that part tasted pretty good. Overall it's just ok. I feel like they could do better on service and their food temperatures. Their cocktails are great!

Where "Old School" is the Only School…read more Jimmy O'Connor's isn't trying to be a trendy gastropub; it's a family-owned authentic Irish bar that has been a Windham staple for over 50 years. It's the kind of place where the floorboards have stories and the Guinness is poured with the respect it deserves. One of the coolest things about Jimmy's is the family legacy. The bar is a pillar of the local community, and if you're a fan of snowboarding, you've likely heard of John (Johnny) O'Connor. John grew up right here in Windham and went on to become a famous professional snowboarder (riding for brands like CAPiTA). His roots in the mountain culture are baked into the atmosphere of the pub, making it a "must-visit" for anyone who respects East Coast riding history. The Burgers: While the menu covers all the pub classics, the Jimmy O's Burger is the go-to. It's a no-nonsense, juicy mountain burger that hits the spot after a day of freezing temperatures. Pair it with a basket of "Jimmy Fries" and a pint of Murphy's Irish Stout. The Vibe: It feels like a true public house. You'll find a mix of muddy hiking boots, snow pants, and local regulars all sharing the same space. Entertainment: Jukebox & Felt The back of the pub is where the real fun happens: The Pool Table: It's almost always in use, serving as the center of gravity for the room. The Jukebox: It provides the perfect soundtrack to a night of "just one more drink." Whether it's classic rock or Irish folk, the music keeps the energy high without drowning out the conversation. Note: Just a heads-up that Jimmy O'Connor's was recently listed for sale to find its "next chapter" after 50 years of family ownership, so now is the perfect time to visit and experience its classic legacy!

Service throughout the meal was painfully slow. There were only two waitresses working the entire restaurant, including an outdoor patio area. They were doing their absolute best, but it was just too much for two people. One of the waitresses didn't seem too familiar with the table identification system. Whenever a dish came out from the kitchen, she'd ask several different tables if the dish was what they ordered, seemingly having no idea which food belonged to which party. This was pretty bizarre and inefficient. They apparently forgot about our order. We ordered nachos as an appetizer, but they didn't come out until after our entrees arrived so we didn't end up keeping them. They did provide complimentary chips and black bean dip, so we at least had something to munch on during the long wait. We saw several tables that received no service at all, and folks had to get up to ask for their check and pay, because the waitresses were just too busy to stop by the tables. For an entree, I had the veggie tacos. The veggies included squash, zucchini, and onions. An order came with three tacos, as well as red and green salsa, black bean dip, and rice. The rice was mushy and the black bean dip wasn't super flavorful. The tacos were okay, but made better by a dousing of habanero hot sauce. My husband also got a horchata beverage and enjoyed it. I felt bad for the waitresses, as there was only so much they could do. In addition to serving, they bussed the tables, prepared the drinks, and served as hostesses.
