The bartender here is in her zone, she definitely knows what shes doing&runs her space like a boss!!!! We sat at the bar for a few drinks before being seated. The young lady (hostess) who we encountered for seating was the only who rubbed me the wrong way..no smiles, all business.."do u have a reservation " NO, & she just wasnt on her game I guess(Olivia?) But in comes Dan, our server, what a gem! Our food was great, my friend really enjoys his short ribs cavatelli, my husband ordered the half jerk chicken & didnt even leave a crumb! I had the maple glazed Salmon, and it delivered mouth watering goodness with just enough sweetness from the maple but not overpowering. I have mixed reviews about this place! First I want to say every time I come the staff is super friendly! It's a great place for a date or to bring a big group. They have a lot of seating and a good menu price range. My favorite thing about the menu is that they have duck fat fries! If you never had your French fries fried in duck fat then you are missing out!!! Now I wish I could give them 3.5 stars. I highly raved about this place but the last time I came it was such a disappointment. Our waitress though very friendly was not very attentive. We couldn't find her when we needed things and when we asked for things she didn't bring them. Now I'm sure she was busy and we never complained but that mixed with the fact that our food was just alright made me drop it a few stars. Also the cleanliness of the restaurant wasn't the best, including the glassware. Now to be fair every other time I have come the food was fantastic. I typically always get the general tso fried chicken sandwich and I love it. So maybe it was an off day we all have those. I will go back again and see if they redeem themselves! Their drinks could be stronger for the price tho... It's nice inside; u can sit at the bar, tables by the bar or the dining room. The kitchen is out in the open too which is nice to see. Stopped in on a Friday night for dinner with little kids. The complimentary duck fat fries with aioli is a great way to start the meal. This was my second time coming here. The service was top notch! Atmosphere was perfect. I loved the theme and back story of the restaurant's decor. The back area was decorated for the season. Although I only had a burger and fries this time, we all had different entree items. And there were no complaints! Fantastic spot on a super cute street in Kingston. The restaurant is very modern and nicely decorated, the food is delicious, the drinks are perfectly poured, and the prices are reasonable. This was my second time coming here and I had a beautifully presented (strong) espresso martini and grilled shrimp tacos that were bursting with flavor. I was there with six other people and everyone was very happy with their meals. One person even said it was one of the best sandwiches she has ever had. Service was quick and our waitress was very attentive. This will definitely be a go to spot when I'm in the area and I'm excited to try out more of their menu. read more

The place is hopping on a Friday night and we're so glad we have reservations. The drinks are delicious and did I mention that instead of a free bread basket, we got free fries. That is a win and delicious. Everyone loved their meal. I got the fried chicken with the corn Brulé and it was piping hot and delicious. I would definitely get it again. The braised ribs with cavatelli also looked delicious and maybe next time I'll get that. The waitstaff was great and accommodating. They checked on us enough but not too much. They also were able to turn down the music which was great because we couldn't hear each other talk. Stopped in Kingston to look around the town and wandered by Brickmen Kitchen. It was a cool little place with half of the establishment being the bar and half the restaurant. They had a strong drinks menu and a diverse food menu. Started with a Cloudy Peach drink from the bar and then ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich at the recommendation of our server. There was an initial kick to the sandwich but not overwhelming. It also came with their fries. The fries were great, a bit of a dark cook on them, which is fantastic for me. My wife got the Mediterranean Salad. The dressing was flavorful and the salad was great without any added protein. read more

They drew us in with Stevie Wonder's 'As' and at the end of our Brunch, we got Taylor Swift with a hodgepodge mix of teeny-bopper tunes at this spot on Front St in Kingston. But we were also here because after noticing the dreadful line at our newfound bakery a few doors down, this, seemed like a good fit. The interior (bar area where we sat) strives to wow you: it's new, walls done in greyish tones, bar counter is done in a marble granite(?) that seems endless and a striking, exposed brick wall. Our Bellinis were a major letdown- instead of more bubbly, that sucker packed more peach purée than anything else. My shashuka was another failure- edges were dried and the eggs, lacked juiciness, a runny yolk and Middle Eastern flavors the dish is known for. The entire dish was a dried mess of Tex-mex flavors. Hubs liked his waffle and I did too; the whipped cream slathered on it, was a bit different instead of just a dollop. Hubs expected "thick bacon"- but what he got were like 4 pieces of the regular kind at $5. Kudos for bringing a nice-on-the-eyes restaurant with warm service. The hostess was pleasant and so was our server, Noemi. I'm not sure I can regard Brickmen as a culinary paradise. Between flavor combinations, presentation and quality, we were stunned. read more

Amazing food, wonderful service, and an interesting layout - this place is a great value for your money in Kingston. They have unique menu items that you won't find elsewhere. Duck fat fries, General Tso's crispy chicken sandwich, sushi tacos, and fun mocktails, to name a few. At the core it is a tradition American fare menu with Brickmen's added creative flair. Angry Bee Chicken was good, but also a touch overcooked. Overall, food was a solid 3-star. However, service started out well, but went south quickly and by the time my dinner came out (dish handed to me with his thumb in my bowl, inner edge only partially wiped off). They were sweeping the floor and spraying cleaners on the table and in the air. It's hard to live up to Boitson's (the restaurant formerly in this location). Boitson's was cozy and intimate. This restaurant broke into the other side to make a larger location. I don't think it really serves the restaurant as it feels like a lot of other places in the HV. The food was excellent...the choices were a little all over the place. First time visit and this is a review of their Brunch as I have not had dinner at this place yet. Lively vibe on Easter with crowded house, smaller space in all three dining rooms giving it a cozy quaint feel. So they have an extensive drink menu but it was brunch so wife and I tag teamed the Bloody Mary board (see photo). Two tasty bloodies, thinly sliced prosciutto, cheese, shrimp, olives, pickle, toast, fruit, and other deliciousness. Also ordered the breaks and pastry plate for the table. Our son housed three delicious bagels while the rest of us shared danish, cheese cake, crumb cake (all from Deisings down the street) mmm. The three adults all got the lobster benny. Two Bennie's served with plenty of lobster were tasty and filling. Two notes: lobster doesn't have inherent saltiness so maybe add a dash of salt and pepper to taste. My only negative on the whole visit was one of my poached eggs was a bit overdone without the runny gooey-ness. All the others were perfect so 5 out of 6 is pretty solid with poached eggs. Still delicious. Attentive waitress added to experience. They also have PBR in a can so that's a solid win for me, breakfast lunch or dinner. Tips: Public parking less than a block away. The pastry platter would probably suffice for most appetites for a light brunch. A tad pricey if you're eclectics breakfast/brunch range but for these elevated ingredients and menu, prices were fair for what you get. Kid friendly but the brunch didn't have a kids menu (although we saw one for their lunch/dinner menu). If your kid likes bagels or pastry, get the pastry platter and there were also waffles and French toast on menu. The mimosas looked pretty nice as well. Honestly, I'm so disappointed with this place. It's definitely well crowded, to the point I'm watching the servers try and squeeze between customers to get through, as well the servers are spread so thin that it takes a while to even get service (which, even when you do get service, is lacking). The food was mid, the pad Thai was more like sweet and sour chicken and less like Pad Thai. The Brickman roll was okay but it was chewy, the chicken wasn't great and the only thing that saved it was the sauce it came with. Luckily the ribs were decent enough, the honey glaze was only honey and it came with plain white rice and steamed lumps of broccoli, what was very disappointing for the price point that everything is set at. We got a price of carrot cake which was alright, the cake part itself was okay but the "cream cheese" frosting just takes like a basic American buttercream with maybe a hint of cheese cream flavoring and way too much powdered sugar. I could go on for a while on how disappointing the entire meal and service was but honestly I'm just left tired and hungry. read more

We made a reservation for two and got this great table in a nook away from everyone else. Service was friendly and efficient. I had the bramble and my date had an old fashion- both were delicious! For dinner I ordered the curry and my date had the steak. He said it was more medium-well than medium-rare, but that it was still good- we were impressed by the butter melted at the table! Fun touch! I'm not sure how I hadn't heard of Brickmen before now, but here we are. We had an early reservation on a Saturday night, and it was PACKED. Have to say, the layout of the place isn't my favorite, but work with what you've got! You have to walk through the bar area to the host stand, the bathrooms are behind that, and there's a kitchen visible in both the bar area and the dining room area. Again - PACKED, and we had to wait a couple minutes, awkwardly by the hostess/bathrooms/practically in a bar diner's lap. Appetizers - lollipop wings....meh. Big, but the sauce wasn't anything impressive and they weren't crispy enough for my liking. The short rib dumplings, however.... I didn't taste Thai basil, but I'd go back for the dumplings alone. SO. GOOD. Entrees - my husband got the fried chicken, and it was fine. The best part of his plate was the corn soufflé - good heavens, that's a delight. I got the short rib cavatelli, which took me a long time to decide on because I am not a mushroom fan. Thankfully, our FANTASTIC waitress told me she doesn't love mushrooms either and I can get it without. It was amazing. Large portion also! This was far and away the most staffed food establishment I've seen since before Covid - and every staff member we interacted with were professional and fantastic. Enjoyed the cranberry apple walnut salad, the candied sweet potatoes, and the truffle mac and cheese. Also tasted a bit of my bf's mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts (crunchy), and turkey. I opted for the crunch spicy tuna roll, which was excellent. It was surprising to see sushi on the menu. I guess they have a pretty focused sushi menu of special rolls that they do very well. Glad they have two storefronts now since we had a reservation for 4 at 5pm and by the time we left at 7pm the place was packed. Beautiful restaurant and big bar. I heard they left the patio out back as well but it was too cold for outdoor seating this time. It was girls date night so we mainly ordered apps and things to share but everything we ate was delicious! The complimentary fries with garlic aioli with its lemony zest is a nice touch instead of a bread basket that typically goes untouched with my crowd. -Short rib and Thai basil dumplings were packed with tender meat and served with a sweet garlic dipping sauce. -Fig, Burrata & Prosciutto Flatbread with Truffle Honey Drizzle. Not my favorite but it's not the breads fault, it's just not a menu item that's typically at the top of my list. Was exactly what it's described as, with arugula on top. -Mini Mac Kobe Sliders with Special Sauce, Lettuce, American Cheese, Pickles, Onions. Three burgers all cooked perfectly, juicy and just over medium. -Prime Meatballs with Gorgonzola Cream, Black Garlic Balsamic were one of everyone's favorite. The balsamic was sweet and tangy and the meatballs were super flavorful and moist. The cream sauce was good but definitely left us all searching for the Gorgonzola flavor. -Brickmen roll and Shrimp roll were both fantastic. -Kale & Shaved Brussel Sprouts Caesar Salad went hard and miso garlic broccoli I were a nice light addition to our smorgasbord. We made a reservation for 7:30 for inside and like most restaurants there was a 15 min grace period. we arrived at 7:35 they said our table would be ready in a few minutes. we ended up waiting 25 mins to be seated. the hostess didn't check back with us while we were standing right there waiting. we had to ask what was going on. finally we got seated and it was in the outside patio, not even the room we booked. they gave us a round of free drinks and some free fries and the drinks and food were very good and our waitress was nice but it was disappointing. why make a reservation when that was the experience? read more

I had such a fantastic experience at Brickmen. The service was so efficient, helpful, and quick. The food was amazing and honestly the complementary duck fat fries got me from the beginning. What a perfect way to start out a meal. Not pictured, I got the Mocktail with the seltzer and the berries, and it was just delicious! Not syrupy, but the perfect amount of fruit for a drink. Delicious..oh my I had the Brickmen burger. Cooked perfectly and so delicious. I had their house bourbon bbq instead of ketchup. DO THIS I promise, it's fabulous. My husband had the Miso glazed salmon. The salmon was cooked well and delicious. He also had an old fashion which is smoked. So delicious. All in all...come here. We'll be back.
