It's a bar/restaurant with a fairly simple menu. Burgers, salads and chicken wings mostly. Nice and cozy bar area that looked pretty well stocked. The wings were a real treat and much better than average. Burgers and fries were also pretty good as was the hummus appetizer. This place isn't going to knock your socks off, but you'll be sure to be satisfied with whatever you order. Prices are probably on par with other establishments in the area. The staff is great and they worked their butts off. Our waiter (who I believe was also the owner) was attentive and very pleasant. Surprisingly though, they're not open on the weekends........just Monday through Friday. I found this a little odd because the biggest crowds show up mostly on the weekend. Nevertheless, I'll be returning. I hope they keep up the fine work.

I found a seat and almost immediately was asked if I knew what I wanted to drink and was handed a menu. The penne alla vodka was amazing. The serving size was a lot bigger than what I was expecting and couldn't finish all of it. My meal included a side salad and some garlic bread, too. Once the initial bar crowd cleared out, it got much quieter, which was nice. I would definitely stop here again if I am ever in the area.

Really great experience at Terrapin. We met friends here for dinner and we were coming from a…read morevariety of locations so Rhinebeck was sort of equidistant for everyone. The place looks really cool and I saw people eating outside, which looks like it would have been enjoyable. Our party of four sat inside; I was afraid it would be very loud but the acoustics were really good and even though it was lively, we could hear each other and not the other tables, which was awesome. Our server was Patrick and he was amazing. He had recommendations for everything and he didn't miss. I don't even know the name of the cocktail I had (maybe a Manhattan Brooklyn or something like that?) because I told him what I liked and he brought his recommendation, which was perfect. He also warned us not to fill up on the delicious hot rolls they served because portions were big for the entrees and again, he was on target. He brought my husband a glass of wine that he absolutely loved as well. We shared artichoke dip to start and it was really delicious. I couldn't have eaten most of it myself. I had the NY Strip steak and it came with spinach and mashed potatoes. It was very good.....it's not the best steak I ever had but it was high quality and reasonably priced. For dessert, he recommended a few items and we liked them all. There was an orange cake which was awesome, and also some blueberry cake which was amazing. The Dubai chocolate cake was good and if we had only had that, I would say it's good but it was not match for the other two. What elevates this to five stars for me is the overall experience. I loved the atmosphere, the whole team there is really focused on delivering a memorable service experience and Patrick just took it over the top. I don't think it would be possible to have a bad meal if he was your server. He's just excellent and he's what tipped the scales from four stars to five stars.

4.5 rounded up. Loved the wine (got the Sancerre but the Sauvignon blanc I tasted wasn't bad…read moreeither) as well as the complimentary bread to start (warm, soft, and very fresh with soft butter). The starters were also pretty good - we got the mushroom bisque and the baby arugula salad with goat cheese wontons. For entrees, we got the lobster pasta which I liked a lot but my husband didn't (a bit too creamy and mushy for him I think - and admittedly the lobster was a bit overcooked and rubbery), and the Hudson valley duck Peking style (I wouldn't recommend this - it was sadly not that great). We ended with the tiramisu, which was decent. Overall, pretty good food relatively speaking and look forward to returning!

But I assume it's a lot of microwave and premade meals sitting out, because that's the food we got. Overpriced, bland and all around a waste. I love korean food and am used to certain flavors. This was just inauthentic and bland. Pork had no sauce, just a dry rub with no flavor and came out cold. Scallion pancakes were doughy and undercooked with no flavor. Wings were only edible part. It's a cool spot but if you go to an actual korean restaurant you will taste the difference. Won't be returning.

The evening I went they had a disco night, started to get crowded around 11:00 pm in their front dance area. There's a large upstairs space with a pool table you can use for free; sometimes if there is a wait, you can reserve it by putting your name with the bartender downstairs on a list. Overall it was a great spot and the people are friendly

I am a sucker for a good cocktail bar. The fact they offer bao buns was enough for us to stop in…read more The baos come in mushroom or duck, in a flight of 3. We ordered the duck. All you could taste was the hoisin. So sweet it buried the duck and the pickled vegetables. Why was it garnished with random lettuce? Who knows? The heavy-handed hoisin was bad, but the buns' lack of fluffiness was downright depressing. The cocktails were a blast. The one mocktail was a hit. The tiki-themed Portal, served in a poisoned-apple mug, was fun. The espresso martini was the highlight of the night. I could have used 40oz of it. Recommend the drinks. Skip the bao.

We were seated right away and had the option to choose from their brunch or lunch menu. There's something for just about everyone, including vegan options. I opted for a Spicy Luna cocktail, my partner selecting a draft beer. The cocktail was excellent with the perfect kick of spice. We opted to have Lenny B's Smoke Trout Salad, the French Onion soup and split the Smoked Duck Quesadilla. The food came out in a timely manner, made with fresh ingredients, and was very tasty. Between the food, the service and the ambiance, if we lived locally, we'd definitely come back.

While a few OG, meat-and-potatoes restaurants still linger along backroads near us, hubs and I- now permanent residents in the Catskills since '24, have noticed how much the surrounding towns have evolved. And the spots that have been popping up are those that have a chic/boho/chichi/slash this/slash that style. Foxfire, was a nice surprise: a stylish, modern-farmhouse getup serving a simple menu that works no matter what eating lifestyle you follow. Foxfire felt incredibly cozy and inviting when we came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a new beginning soon. I mean...this is the kind of place you want to linger a little longer. Our server was pleasant and took his time answering my questions about whether certain dishes had mustard, mustard seed, mustard powder or Dijon. The Japanese Caesar salad sounded great on paper, but something told me to ask. Since mustard is usually part of a Caesar dressing and theirs didn't list it on the menu, I figured it was worth double-checking. Sure enough when I asked, it called for it. Next. We started with olives and creamy- but offbeat crab cakes. The cocktails looked great on paper but missed on strength. When both the starter and the drinks strike out, you get ready for a 3rd. Thankfully, the main plates kind of saved the night. Hubs liked his deconstructed "Farmhouse Chicken," sliced in 3 pieces ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and my Branzino was delicious. Service was solid though, but let's talk pricing: $18 cocktails with zero punch and a $40+ Branzino portion that was kind of small....hmmm. Don't expect the drinks or portions to keep up with the price tag.
