My wife and I went here years ago and had a great time. But be warned, unless things have changed Moe's doesn't serve food. I think they will sell you a bag of chips. On the good side they let you bring in your own food, so grab a pizza down the road bring it in to Moe's and have fun !! read more

Found this place after having nothing much to do in the Lee, Mass area in winter. I'm not an avid skiier so yeah, I drink. This place was really eclectic with the decor and the beer tap selection was great too--about 8 different kinds. I tried the hard cider and it was very cloudy, bartender informed it was bottom of the barrel and definitely looked like mud...but still tasted awesome!! It was like real mashed cider from a farm and I drank it anyway. My girl had the honey mead which was a nice peachy color, slightly bubbly and just enough tart. Atmosphere was friendly and few customers at 3pm on a Saturday. Hue selection of bourbons to sip as well as some other choice libations. No Coors here!! Loved Moe's Tavern! My husband and I came to the Berkshires when we needed a break from wedding planning last year and Moe's was a great no frills bar away from the city, and also walking distance from the bed and breakfast we were staying in. The bartender on the two nights we came in was incredible friendly and the vibe here was very relaxed. Great selection of IPAs (we discovered Melvin's 2x4 DIPA here for the first time-- a new household favorite), but they also have a great selection of bourbon/whiskey. I love going to Moe's! The atmosphere is local and the tap beer and whiskey selection hand picked by the owner are top notch! The staff, including the owner are friendly and easy to talk to.. So happy we stumbled upon Moe's while visiting the Berkshires. The craft beer selection (on tap) was excellent, as was the bourbon selection. The bartender was so friendly and very knowledgable, discussing all the options with us. The atmosphere was fun and low-key, with sports games on the TVs and great music playing in the background. If it were just a review of the beer selection this would be a 5-star review... however, from the second we walked in it was clear that we were treated differently than the regulars. They had plenty of beer options, from your domestics to the local IPAs. We went here with high expectations and excited to check it out, but we made an early exit after it was clear the regulars didn't want us there. No real complaints, just the fact that we felt the need to leave due to the uncomfortable feeling we got from everyone else in the bar. This place is awesome. The beer selection is out of this world. They carry my favorite brand (Abita) as well as a bunch of other cool, funky, hard to find brews. They also carry GreenFlash which was also a favorite of one of my companions. The clientele is cool, local, and down to earth. This place is a little bit off the beaten path, which prevents the touristy, yuppie crowd from taking over. There isn't a ton of seating and I imagine that this place can get pretty crowded. My mother & sister and I found Moe's by accident after shopping nearby on Saturday. I was impressed with the good beers they had advertised in the windows, so how could I not go in? I was jonesing for a beer as soon as I saw the place. When we walked in I was surprised that NO ONE but the owner was there. We decided to sit at the bar. I love how the place is decorated with Simpsons stuff and all the cool beer signs! My sister and I ordered a Smuttynose Summer Ale, and it was citrusy and wonderful. My mom can't drink, so she just had a seltzer w/ lemon, and she got some yummy mini hotdogs too. We shared the dogs, which were DELISH. I also got a big basket of popcorn (which was only $3). I was hoping to go back before I came back to Boston on Sunday, but I didn't get the chance. I hope Moe's stays for a long time, because I want to go here whenever I go visit my family in the Berkshires. The owner chatted with us, and he was very nice. I can't wait to go back! read more

I just went here last night for the first time and I have to say I enjoyed it, even though I couldn't stay long. The choices of beer where not necessarily the common ones, but that is what makes it great. You can get a Coors Light/Bud Light anywhere but some of the other choices aren't that easy to find. The bar itself isn't huge but with god lighting and a good L shape bar, there seems to be a god amount of seating. It seems like a good place just to meet up with some old friends and drink some victory. read more

Very cool beer spot in the Berkshires -- easily one of the best places for craft/rare beers in the area. The bar is sizable with lots of places to sit and a few TVs. They don't have a food menu but have some snacks you can buy (necessary when you're downing 18% ABV beers!) Trader Moe's (the takeaway store next door) was closed when we were at the bar, but the owner offered to bring us in there whenever we wanted. Although we didn't take him up on it, we definitely appreciated the gesture. If you're not a local, know that the printed out beer list is likely not up to date. Big fan. Polished dive bar. Above average beer selection. Very impressive whiskey selection, including a single barrel Moe's only selection from Jefferson. Well worth a snort. Staff is top notch, even including the owner who is no stranger to working the taps. Ample TV's, and a pretty cool collection of tin and neon advertising. We are staying in Lenox so my wife and I stopped by here on the way back from the Norman Rockwell Museum this afternoon, honestly mainly due to the name and being a big Simpson's fan. No real connection to the show, besides the name, but was impressed with the beer list, I had the Timberhitch, a red beer (I usually like reds and it was solid). My wife was driving so she had a seltzer. We only stayed for a beer (and seltzer), but seemed like a nice bar, good seats, a few TVs, the bathroom was spotless (men's room), bartender seemed nice. Not sure why this is listed as a dive bar on certain apps, it really isn't a dive (I like dive bars, but this isn't one) . Bucky's basically across the street looked like a dive. read more

Lee used to be sort of a run down gritty center that was basically a place to load up groceries and provisions for the summer places. These days there are Peruvian, Mexican, and even a French joint along with the packys, Greek pizza, and other things you more commonly see. Moe's Tavern a great addition... I don't drink whiskey but their selection is about as good as I've seen. Not some NYC transplant attempting to be "cool" in the Berks...Moe is a Umass grad and promotes Western MA beers. On our way to Ohio, we stopped in at Moe's for a couple of pints before getting back on the road. (not as bad as it sounds; I was doing most of the drinking, and my wife was doing most of the driving). Walking into Moe's, it was an obvious beer geek bar - a great selection of local taps and a great bottle selection. My wife had a Flower Power IPA. I had a big beer from Element brewing. In addition to the beer, they have an amazing whiskey collection - mostly bourbons and American whiskeys, but also some great scotches. I wish I'd had time to sample some. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. We ended up chatting with half the people in the bar, and, as it turns out, one of them was the owner. He and I talked about his whiskey collection (he was suitably proud), and how we wished there was a bar like Moe's nearer to us. He invited us to drop in anytime. As we were leaving, he thanked us. Out loud. With words. We did stop in again (on the way back), and were met with the same great treatment, and a few new beers! read more

Damn good beer selection, and it's about time Lee had a destination. You'll find Dogfish Head, Troeg's, Stoudt's and Allagash regularly, plus an enormous amount of craft bottles. Hot dogs and fries are the only eats (not sure if this is still true), but I hope it stays a while. My only complaint: they need to lower the music volume. It's always so high you have to speak loudly to overcome it. read more

We're locals and can attest: if you like craft beer, this bar is the coolest & best. Not much food available (Moe's encourages delivery/takeout), and no wine offered (damn), but the selection of craft and local beer is fabulous. Lots on tap. Also offering whiskey, cider, and gluten-free beers. Plus televisions galore, a fireplace handy for chilly days, beer-themed decor, friendly bartenders, and an equally friendly owner.
