It was the kind of dinner that kept everyone at the table reaching back for "just one more bite." We began with the seafood pho, a comforting bowl filled with a fragrant, deeply savory broth and a generous mix of tender seafood. Each spoonful was warm, aromatic, and satisfying. The chicken fried rice was another standout, with fluffy grains, savory seasoning, and a deliciously satisfying texture that felt hearty without being heavy. We also tried the beef noodles, featuring tender, flavorful beef and noodles that soaked up every bit of the rich, savory sauce. The atmosphere added to the experience. Charming Vietnamese-inspired decor and a beautiful mural bring plenty of character to the restaurant, creating a space that feels casual, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. It has the relaxed comfort of a neighborhood favorite while still offering special visual touches that make the meal feel memorable. Service was friendly, attentive, and warm throughout our visit. With flavorful food, inviting surroundings, and genuinely welcoming service, Pho Viet made for a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

The "Sriacha" tasted like an off brand or it was mixed with something else with a brownish tinge. The meatballs were hard as a rock, dry and flavorless. Sadly, the meat quality was some of the worst I ever got in a restaurant. The grilled pork hardly had any flavor and definitely no lemon grass was harmed in the making of the grilled pork. The sauce for the noodle bowl was really watered down and hardly had any flavor. I really don't know how this place has such a high rating since the sharp flavors of Vietnamese food are so muted. No lemon grass, no fish sauce, the daikon and carrots were not pickled. The experience left me feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. I was so hoping for an authentic food experience only to receive sub par quality meats and food lacking any sort of flavor. We also ordered Thai tea which was really weak. The wait staff was good.

I ordered the noodle salad bowl with grilled chicken, tofu, and fresh vegetables, while someone else in my party chose a salad bowl with grilled pork and chicken. First of all, ordered at the counter and chose our seat. Place had plentiful tables to choose from. Menu had a variety of sandwiches, vermicelli, and rice plates. So many choices, but my tummy stuck with the sandwich. When the nicely wrapped sandwiches came to our table, I we were pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches were more than generous and huge. I ordered #2 - grilled pork, pate, fried egg, and with all the trimmings. Absolutely delicious! Bread was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Protein fillings were not skimpy at all- the grilled pork was not overly salty, the pate was a nice thin creamy flavorful layer, and the fried egg was perfect and fluffy to top. The produce- pickled veggies with decent balance of cilantro and thinly sliced jalapeños! Omg soooo good. All fresh and flavorful! Can you pls open another eatery in San Antonio?!
