I have come to the conclusion that Pho is a remedy. Whether you're hanging, starving or heart broken, pho will be there for you to warm your crying soul. I tried pho 777 for the first time last night and I was surprised to see what a big menu they have. For a pho place, they have quite a variety! I've always heard good things about this place and I can see why. Their portions are pretty decent as well as their prices. So clearly, I usually eat pho but yesterday I wanted to be brave. I tried their vermacelli with pork bruche. It was like vietnamese meatballs! it was a mixture of vermacelli, bean sprouts, basil, and the meatball and then you mix everything with their fish oil sauce and then VOILA, magic appears and its ready to be eaten. I liked it. my boyfriend is the very one to encourage me on writing this review because he ABSOLUTELY LOVES this place. He loves their pho. It makes him cry with tears of joy. The food here is hands down one of the best I have ever tried at a Vietnamese restaurant. There pho, salads, vermicelli, and rolls ARE AMAZING! Gotta try em all and gotta love em all! One of my favorite noodle dishes is Pho!! I absolutely love it! Usually I go to china town because It's the cheapest place to get Pho. I don't like going in to china town so i like to discover new places. . Pho 777 is by far one of my favorite places to eat Pho for a number of reasons. First off, I like the broth, its really tasty. Usually restaurants put A LOT of MSG in their broth which isn't the best for you. Whenever I eat foods that are heavy in MSG, i tend to get really thirsty and dehydrated and need to drink A LOT of water. At this place, I don't drink as much water and it's so flavorful that it tastes like the broth took hours to make. Secondly, the price is pretty reasonable for Pho. Lastly, the food comes nice and quick and still HOT. One of my favorite types of PHO is PHO with rare steak. I like to get the steak raw outside so that it doesn't overcook the meat. Their portions are pretty good too so if I'm not starving, the small portion will do. if your not into PHO, I recommend the beef salad. It is a light salad with beef,onions, and cilantro on top garnished with peanuts. It has a tangy vinaigrette dressing that goes well with it. Also, if your looking for something refreshing to drink, I highly recommend the lemonade. It's not too tart and not too sweet and it is fresh squeezed!! Unfortunately, the only reason for the missing star in my rating is the service and the parking! Usually when I dine here, the waiter pretty much gives me a menu, comes back to take my order, and then when I am done I HAVE to go to the cashier to get the bill because if not I will be waiting forever. The service isn't that bad but it isn't that great either. The good thing is that the food comes quick so I don't mind. Then there is the parking!! I LOVE PHO. I was pretty excited to try a new pho place. Sad to say, it was a disappointment. I usually order steak, beef balls, and tripe. Personally, I don't prefer fatty beef ball or beef balls with the cartilage or whatever it is. Just the sight of it makes feel icky. That is just me. When I entered the restaurant, it looked and feel clean but when we started preparing our utensils and looking at our sauce dish, that was another story. The little sauce dishes were a sticky. Maybe Pho 777 was experiencing a bad night, one of the waitresses ran into the bus boy & spilled pho all over their customers & no one came to clean up the mess for awhile. After we finished our meal, we didn't know if someone was gonna drop off the check or if we needed to pay at the register; we waited 10 minutes & finally paid at the register before leaving the restaurant. I wanted to try this place out and luckily my brother was craving pho. We came here after our hike at Manoa Falls. Parking took a while. Our parents didn't want to eat pho so they chose the Chinese Restaurant. Once inside workers pointed to a table for my brother and I to sit at. The broth is flavorful, and judging from the dry mouth and headache we got later on we're pretty sure they use plenty of MSG. The noodles don't taste right to me, but they gave plenty of rare beef with our rare beef pho. They are generous with the accompaniments like the mint leaves, bean sprouts, lime, etc. Other items: Combination rice plate - grilled pork chops were really delicious and the fried egg was nice and crispy. The egg/pork cake/meatloaf was tough and not so flavorful. Shredded pork was one of the better I've had. Wonton egg noodle soup - Wontons are not bad, broth is fine, but the noodles taste weird. My family went here for dinner because it was a rainy night and they were open. I wasn't really craving for pho so I ordered their pork chop and shredded pork plate. The plate also comes with rice, 2 pieces of cucumber and tomatoes, a lettuce leaf, a soup broth? and sauce. The pork chop and rice were delicious when it was piping hot but after that, it tasted bland. As for the shredded pork, I took one taste of it and never touched it afterwards. The medium was huge so she shared her pho with me. She got the combination which included beef balls, briskets, beef and tripe. There could've been more stuff though. My first sip of broth tasted not too good but as I got to sip more, it began tasting alright. It had a meaty taste to it. We also ordered a 4 piece spring roll which was good. CONS: -The parking is free but the McCully parking lot gets full really fast. Don't go around popular dinner hours if you can. I got the large pho which comes with a lot of noodles, but I would say that if you get an appetizer it would better to go with the medium size. The rare steak was a decent quality that didn't really stand out, but was tasty. The pho also comes with the usual lemon, sprouts, peppers, and variety of herbs. Mochi with eggs: This dish is pan fried mochi with hard fried eggs, which means no runny eggs. It comes with a vinegary dipping sauce that comes with pickled carrots and white radish. The mochi itself is very soft on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside creating very nice mouth feel with the contrast in textures. The dipping sauce is slightly sweet, sour and salty creating a nice combination in flavors. Service: They came with water and took our orders pretty quickly. The food came out pretty quickly, but there weren't a lot people there so can't say how they are when they get busy. I would say go on the weekend if don't want to see a crowd. Ambiance: It's clean with a lot of windows bringing in a lot of natural light. They always have some type of variety Vietnamese singing show playing in the background, which some people may like but I usually just tune it out. Overall very nice place to get a quick bit of pho. Been here a few times and it's become a go-to for late nights due to its hours and convenient location. 3/5, Location: Pho 777 is located on the second story at McCully Shopping Center. There's parking for the shopping center though it is difficult to park due to it's limited size and (very) tight parking stalls. I recommend to carpool into the smallest vehicle available! 4/5, Service: Service from the staff is great. They're pretty attentive when it's slow but things take a bit longer than usual when it gets busy (duh, of course). Not sure about food speed as it seems to take longer when comparing to other pho restaurants. But hey, you're drunk, with friends, and having a good time that you probably won't notice! 5/5, Food: Not much to say, the price for portion size is reasonable and the pho itself tastes good.
