Great find by the husband. He wanted rice soup, congee, jook to settle his stomach, and something not greasy and oily. The rice soup is a big bowl, a hearty portion. The pork liver with chives was extremely tender and very tasty. I want to come back to try other items. Also, inside is nice and clean, spacious, and air conditioned.

Food is amazing as always! I've been going here since childhood and it never fails me. So glad they remodeled, there is much more tables now. The aunties here are super nice and friendly!

I'm so happy that they renovated and now there's tons of space to sit. This place is HOPPIN' on weekends. We've been here like 3-4x since their reopening and everything's been fantastic, service is super quick and nice, love the big mugs of hot tea, and we rarely wait more than 15 minutes for a table (they get 'em out quick!). We've had: Chow fun beef Beef tendon on rice - You gotta get this, just get this! Lams specializes in look fun noodles as well as egg noodle dishes, theyre known for their slow braised beef with tendon and it is fall apart tender. The noodles seem to be homemade and go perfectly with their homemade broth. The flavors are simple and homey and I always leave satisfied. But I always manage to grab some roast pork from the shop across the street. They usually get real busy around lunch time and usually always oh the weekends, but service is usually fast and you get your food quick to keep business moving. They just moved into a newly renovated spot so the there's much more space than their previous location, you jus feel like your in an authentic noodles house to say the least. If you have some time and are in the area stop on by.

Food: quite on the cheaper side for Chinese food in town. one of the best dishes here is their look fun roll aka cheung fun! It is warm and soft and goes so well with hoisin sauce and peanut butter sauce! I also like to add a little of their homemade chili oil to add a slight kick. But today we ordered beef chow fun, boiled pork liver, and Chinese donut stick. The beef chow fun was okay, could use a bit more wokhay and flavor. I enjoyed boiled pork liver a lot since it was very soft and not chewy at all. There was a generous amount of green onions! Can't go wrong with the donut, but we have a feeling that it's not made from scratch and it's probably frozen. Service: it was alright, they're always busy so the staff are doing the best they can to serve you. We went on a weekend and we had waitlist for a bit despite the expanded renovated place. Atmosphere: it is a lot more spacious than their original size. Feels more clean and the bathroom is not too dirty.

I had Singapore rice noodles from here in Honolulu's Chinatown, and the portion size for the cost of $14.50 was really good. It had a pleasant flavor from the curry powder. I was hungry and finished everything on my plate. I also got hot tea, but it didn't have any flavor for some reason; it tasted just like hot water. Most of their dry noodle dishes are variants of chow fun. I noticed that nearly all the tables seemed to have a plate of chow fun. There was a wait, but it didn't last long. It's a fairly dense restaurant that can get busy during peak lunch hours. The staff can combine tables to accommodate groups with more than two people. Underground parking here was also affordable.

We finally got to eat at Lam's Kitchen today. Our timing at 11:30 on Tuesday was good because after we sat down , the place was packed with people waiting for a table. I found out that they recently renovated and doubled in size. It is very nice, clean and modern inside. We ordered beef and tendon noodles and my daughter ordered fish filet with look fun and also got a side order of won ton. There are many condiments on the table so you don't have to ask for anything. There was shoyu, chili oil, salt, pepper, mustard, vinegar, hoisin sauce, Sriracha, and maybe more. The noodles were really good and it was full of beef and tendon. My daughter's fish look fun was good too. I would definitely go back.

First time back since the remodel. Arrived at around 11am and seated quickly. However, a waitlist started shortly after. Hubs loves the braised beef and tendon egg noodle soup. The look fun was fresh and so good when it arrived piping hot.

I had read about Lam's on the FB food page and had bookmarked it to try. I recognized the space that once housed a Thai restaurant. Apparently they remodeled and it looks great! They are really busy during lunch so get here early. We waited for about 15 minutes. My friends did all the ordering. The Look Fun rolls were very good! I had the beef tendon look fun. Really good broth and tender meat. They also ordered the beef liver. I'm not a fan but this one was very tender and served with ginger and green onions like cold ginger chicken. It was very good. One of my friends had the fish fillet noodle soup and said it was really good. Nice tender fish. The service is fast, friendly, and efficient. They are very polite but honestly, eat and get out because people are waiting. It's not a place to sit and talk story. I should've went back for the pho. Mahalo Lam!

They renovated the interior and it's a lot more spacious with more seating -2 or 4 top picnic like bench tables. Looks really nice. Lots of people waiting to be seated so go inside and get your name down ASAP! Chow fun was great as usual- we had the beef and choy sum chow fun. So flavorful with that smoky wok hei flavor. Noodles were bouncy with the right amount of chew. The beef was very tender! One order definitely enough for 2. We also got the beef and tendon soup mein. Noodles were just right and the beef and tendon was so tender. The staff was jamming! So busy but they managed to stay cheerful and friendly! Shout out to the staff! Take note of the table number you're seated at. It's on the table edge. When done, you go up and tell the cashier your table number (or either point it out to her ) and pay

We had to order one of their sig crab dishes, and we rounded out the meal w/ beef and long beans, sweet & sour pork belly, eggplant and fried rice. The crab was amazing! I added rice to the head (in Ilocano this is called "labay", adding rice to soup or broth to extend the meal). I was in heaven. The other dishes were all big portions and very good. The meat was tender, and the veggies were fresh and crunchy. I believe all the other dishes were ~ $20/each. The staff was super nice. We didn't have a res, but luckily we were seated in 20 min on a busy Sun night. Regarding the dining area, its tight but comfy. You have to wash your hands after, and the bathrooms are clean. Cake Noodle Fact: Cake noodles aren't "cake" in the dessert sense (tragic, I know). "Cake" refers…read moreto the noodle being pressed into a round, compact disk before it's pan-fried, which is exactly how you get that crispy-meets-soft texture moment. And yes, now I will absolutely be thinking about them often. If you think you know cake noodles because you've had Cantonese noodles before, Lee Ho Fook in Honolulu's Chinatown is here to humble you. I was definitely humbled. Tucked along the canal in Chinatown, Lee Ho Fook Restaurant is one of those cozy little neighborhood spots where the tables are close, the room is snug, and the noodles do all the talking. My Honolulu homies, twinsie "Auntie" Nadine C. and Cycle Buddy Randy S., brought me here for noodles and I'm eternally grateful they did. We ordered the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles, tossed noodles with choi sum and won ton, plus a side of ong choy. Every plate understood the assignment. As an Arizona girl, I had never had minute chicken or cake noodles before and fully assumed they'd be in the same lane as Cantonese noodles. Yelpers, I was wrong. Delightfully wrong. Cake noodles are a Cantonese classic but the magic is all in the texture: pan-fried until golden and crisp on the outside, while the center stays soft enough to soak up all that glossy savory sauce. It's the best of both noodle worlds - crispy and chewy. A true textural delight. The Minute Chicken Cake Noodles were the star for me. That contrast between the crispy edges and soft middle was wildly satisfying, and the chicken was silky, savory, and exactly the kind of comfort food that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate what's happening. The tossed noodles with choi sum and won ton were equally comforting in a more classic, no-fuss way, and the ong choy was the perfect green side dish that was garlicky, fresh, and necessary. Lee Ho Fook is small, comforting, and exactly the kind of place you want when what you really need is a bowl of something delicious and humble. Come hungry, bring a few friends, and order the cake noodles.

My buddy really likes siao mai, and he said KSR has the best ones out of the places I have brought him to in HNL. On the other hand, the manapua was just okay: The ratio of meat to bao was low. I took char siu fr the platter and added it to the bao. We might have been better off skipping the baos and ordering a rice or noodle plate. The har gow and spring rolls were pretty good. The rolls arrived piping hot, and the har gow had a nice texture in the wrapper. Fourthly, the cucumber was fresh & crunchy, and had lots of garlic. I ate some with the char siu to cut thru the fat. Lastly, the char siu & duck platter was very good. They do a good job of putting some char on the bbq pork. The duck was tasty, but there were a couple of bony pieces.
