This seems to be the place to go for dim sum on Oahu. My cousin's took me here 3 times on this trip (once for dinner) . The dim sum here is pretty good, the place is huge and the food is good and pretty good service as well. It's pretty busy, especially on weekends, if you don't get here early you're gonna have to wait for sure. We ordered the usual dishes, har gow, daikon cakes, seafood dumplings, chicken feet etc. Everything is pretty good. We came for dinner once as well too, it was a set menu and was pretty good though I think their dim sum is better. It's in Ala Moana Center so lots of parking as well. I'm sure I'll be back again on my next visit..........

I haven't been here in a few YEARS after an okay experience my first time. However, friends invited us here for a late dim sum a few weeks ago and we absolutely loved it. First off, no wait bc it was close to 1:30. Everything came out piping hot and fresh Out of all the dim sum places on the island, and I've tried them all, this is my new favorite Siu Mai 5/5 was my DD favorite Beef Ball had good flavor and texture Fried Pork Dumpling (ham siu gok) had water chestnut in it which was a first for me. But it worked! Egg tart 5/5 had a great crust and the bite with the filling was actually really good Ngl Pan fried Chives and Shrimp dumpling was tasty Definitely be back when I am back in town We also came here for dinner a few nights later. Note: they don't serve dim sum during dinner. There wasn't many seafood selection let alone fresh seafood. Clams were even out. Fresh Ong Choy and bbq pork was the highlights. Definitely more of a dim sum restaurant

Second time here and definitely had more tables than last time I went. You order from a paper menu that is on the table (sorry didn't take a picture of it) and you can order off the regular menu as well. You also get hot tea ( loose leaf green tea) as soon as you sit down. Everything was delicious and my favorite would be the char siu snow buns as it was a sweet coating on the buns which was my first time to try that. Never seen stuffed fried tofu with shrimp and that was interesting to see. The tofu was on the bottom and the shrimp on the top. The char siu stuffed in a look fun noodle was really tasty as well. The star of the show was the mango mochi! It was real mango with coconut bits in the outside. Overall I would definitely come back to try something different.

Dim Sum here is better than many restaurants on the mainland. Wonderful service and you order from a paper menu -- which you write how many of which items you want Food is prepared fresh and hot! See what we ordered in my photo -- plus we had pan-fried turnip cake (always a favorite) and fried spring rolls. The turnip cakes were perfect -- which is an indicator of a really good dim sum restaurant.

Two weeks ago, I went to this place for dim sum. I ordered the steamed char siu buns and shrimp and pork siu mai. The dim sum was made to order and came out piping hot. The steamed buns were kind of falling apart when I was holding one to eat it. The pork siu mai only had 3 pieces unlike other restaurants. They were still good. The big seafood restaurant was situated in Ala Moana Center but they didn't have any air conditioning at all. I was sweating while eating the hot dim sum.

I would say this is one of the best dim sums on island! Long standing in Ala Moana, this staple makes you feel like you are in Asia with the hustle and bustle, and flavors it provides. Service is prompt and the dim sum comes out quick. Great spot outside of Chinatown for dim sum. Will have to come for dinner next!

This place does have really good dim sum but be ready for a lot of noise and always crowded. You might get bumped here and there and I noticed service is not that great you got to be very aggressive to get there attention. But we go for the food and the food is really good very satisfying it hits every time. It's less noisy if you sit up on the little balcony area.

Q: Why don't dumplings ever share secrets? A: Because they're afraid of spilling the fillings! I have been told by multiple people on Oahu, people I trust, that Oahu Chinese food just ain't it. So what do I do on my first morning on Oahu? I ask a friend to join me for dim sum. And you know what? No regrets. Because what can I say? I'm ABC and it's the weekend! We stopped by the massive Ala Moana Center, the world's largest open-air shopping center, and strolled into Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant for dim sum. We got the "test sheet" for ordering and we ordered, arguably, way too much and we finished every bite. I enjoyed myself! There were some really tasty bites and I had no complaints. I went in with the lowest of expectations and I'm pleasantly surprised. It was a great meal.

The last 2 times we have been here- we had -Pei- as our server. Very friendly and helpful with their menu. So many choices. This time we had the roast duck, salt & pepper shrimp, ham har chicken wings, crispy noodles with a mix of seafood and meats and the Wagyu black pepper short ribs Casual dining- round and square tables. The location, private dining.- or for big parties

Majestic, frontal view of the restaurant.

Live this eatery, but it is almost like hit & miss. Still, it is a worthy dim sum place to eat. Besides free and easy parking, it is easy place to get to. Overall prices wise, they are comparable to other dim sum places.

Jade has always been the place where my boyfriend and I would go to eat dim sum. We went early on Sunday for lunch with his younger brother and got there around 10:15am. There was a huge line out the door for people who had no reservations. We waited in that line and was sat around 10:45am, which is great considering they open and 10:30am and that we didn't have a res. Dim sum there is always fire, but we also decided to try something new and ordered the salt and pepper lobster. They mentioned that the lobster was $40/lb, but my boyfriend wanted to ball out and said okay. They showed us the lobster before they cooked it to see if it was okay for our liking. It was delicious! Idk about $40/lb delicious, but a great experience and great flavor. Safe to say, we will be back! follow my foodie adventures on ig: smolgirlfatass

Hubby and I decide to have Chinese for dinner. The food was delicious. Staffs and service were excellent! We got here around 5:30 pm. There were plenty of tables. Great place to have a party. By the time we left almost all there tables were occupied. I would recommend to come here if you want some good Chinese food.

Jade Dynasty is a dim sum restaurant conveniently located on the 4th floor level of Ala Moana. They serve dim sum daily until 5pm which is a lot later than most restaurants because typically these dishes are considered brunch/lunch. I do like their dim sum dishes as they don't seem as oily. However, Jade tends to be more expensive than Chinatown options due to their location in the shopping center. Despite this, I absolutely love their snowy mountain char siu bun. 10/10 and a must order since not all places carry this item. Jade Dynasty continues to provide delicious dim sum in Ala Moana Center. Highly recommend if you want Chinese food!

Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Jade Dynasty Seafood Restaurant

How can I get information for a banquet wedding of 100 people?

Calling in and speaking to the manager would be best.

Though website says reservations taken, personnel says they don't take reservations for a Monday at 2 PM for 16 ppl; only at 1 PM. Wondering how busy this place gets on Mondays. Wanted to book ahead after a service so maybe not a good idea?

Is Jade Dynasty BYOB?

No, they have a corkage fee and they have beer and cocktails for purchase.

What is the buy local discount?

Thank you for reaching out! The Buy Local Discount Program, in partnership with American Savings Bank, offers exclusive savings when you pay with an American Savings Bank debit card. Discounts apply to the subtotal before tax and tip:…

Is it an issue if a single person comes in to eat lunch or dinner?

No problem at all.

Do you have Kamaaina discount?

Sorry, We do not have a Kamaaina Discount. But we do have a Buy Local discount going on.

What is the minimum number of people in the party to make a reservation?

2 people.

How many does one order of noodles feed? Can I get an order for 12 people?

Can feed probably 80-90 people , one noodle per person.

Is there MSG in all there foods or only select ones? What should peeps who are allergic to MSG avoid? Help wanna try there!

We ordered 4 different dishes and none of them had msg (I'm allergic so I'd be able to tell). We also asked the waitstaff to advise us if any of our ordered dishes had msg as an ingredient.

Do we need reservations?

I don't know if you need reservations but I just arrived with my wife and were seated for lunch (dim sum), immediately.

What time do you have dim sum until?

Usually stops at 4:30, by experience it better to order by 4:00 or earlier. It will depend on what they have available.

Is there a gluten free menu?

Let your waiter know your special needs. Yes, there are a few selections that are Gluten free.

Do we need reservations for Christmas Day?

No, but I would highly recommend it.

What days do you serve buffet?

I think it's only on special occasions such as Father's/Mother's day.

Can we order takeout for dim sum?

Yes, but... We were told that we couldn't get takeout dim sum until noon. Very odd since they open at 10 am, I think.

Does this restaurant has private rooms for large parties for about 30 people?

They have a private room section on the right side of the dining room that can handle maybe 2-3 big round tables of 10. They can also partition off the left side of the dining room for larger parties with large sliding wall panels to create a…

Is there a menu for kids?

No kids menu. It's a Chinese restaurant so the menu is suitable for families. There are lots of dishes that children will enjoy.

Do they use MSG?

Yes, but not a lot like some other restaurants.

Do they serve dim sum on carts they roll around or you have to order off of a menu?

They have a menu to order dim sum. No cart.

Do they take reservations for lunch on Saturdays for a party of 4?

Yes

The new location is only about a block away, with a much nicer, newer interior. Unfortunately, the food seems to have changed much more than the address We ordered four dishes: mochi rice, pork buns, siu mai, and chicken feet. Almost everything arrived cooler than it should have. The chicken feet and siu mai were warm rather than hot, while the pork buns were closer to cold. More importantly, it wasn't just a temperature problem. The chicken feet in particular tasted noticeably worse than before, lacking the flavors and spices we remembered. The mochi rice was the most normal of the four, but even that felt fairly unremarkable There was a table next to us that came in excited to have dimsum. And watching their reaction, they came to the same conclusion as us -- food was cold, and flavors were off. We went on a weekday, so it's possible the kitchen was different that day, but the drop in quality was hard to ignore. The restaurant wasn't busy, service was good, and prices seemed unchanged from our previous visits. The new space is a clear improvement, but based on this meal, the food unfortunately went in the opposite direction. We likely won't be coming back

Better late than never, but come too late and missed out on the good stuff?…read more Honolulu Seafood Restaurant is a sister restaurant to Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. Located in Downtown in the same space where Yong Sing, Mandalay, and the short-lived Bourbon Street used to be. Inside feels and looks essentially the same as the prior restaurants. Huge, open, two levels. Would you believe there was once a time where the second floor was an option to sit because it was just that busy? Hours is basically 10am everyday till 3pm, then 5-930pm. Seems like the hours are geared towards Downtown workers. Where to park? 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, park in the Ali'i Place Parking garage. Entrance is right past the restaurant. Only 75 cents per half hour and restaurant validates one dollar. After 5pm on weekdays, and 8-1am on weekends, park at Bishop Square Parking. Entrance is across from the restaurant, entrance from the left lane of Alakea. Cost is $1.50 with validation. The regular menu is exactly the same as Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. However, the dim sum is not the case. It's much, much less. There's only 16 total, and 7 more on weekends only. It's essentially the bare basics (but no beef ball!). All the dim sum looks exactly the same as Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant, but everything was on the bland side and just felt like it was missing something. Steamed Spareribs was one note and meat was not as tender. Beef Look Funn was good. The look funn had perfect thinness and texture. If have this dish, how come cannot have steamed beef balls? Chicken Feet was good. Soft, tasty, and meaty. But just ate and felt one note. Pan Fried Shrimp and Chives Dumplings was pretty good. Pan fried very well. Generous amount of filling. Just on the bland side. Chicken Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf was pretty good! Soft, moist mochi rice with a good amount of tasty filling. The Bean Curd Roll with Pork was probably the most flavorful dim sum of the meal. Jam-packed with tasty and flavorful filling. Overall, the dim sum was decent and almost similar to Kapiolani Seafood, but it was a touch on the bland side and a slight step below. Service was good. Friendly and attentive. Food came out pretty quick. Inside was cool, spacious, and comfortable. I want to come back on my lunch break! I don't mind dim sum'ing solo! Hopefully there'll be more dim sum choices. I remember seeing on social media they had some unique items only at this location. But I guess I'm too late! **I heard some news, maybe rumors, but the Kapiolani Seafood location might be forced to move due to that and the next lot being torn down for..... you guessed it, more condos! It might have an effect on the Honolulu location. We'll see.

Some four decades later, I still love their baked manapuas, call it a childhood love and remembrance :) If you don't eat pork, no worries, they have a delicious curry chicken filling. If you're vegetarian, no worries either, they have an incredible sweet potato filling, among other options. Conveniently stamped on the bun and printed on the box so you know what is what. Another childhood favorite from Royal Kitchen is their rice cakes, bittermelon stirfry, and sweet and sour pigs feet. Don't forget, they have tasty jai at Chinese New Year and gau! I wanted to get the half roast duck $28, but it was sold out. The cheung fun was good. It came with sesame seeds on top. They brought over the peanut sauce.
