    I really wanted to like this Dim Sum place and live so close but unfortunately their selection for Dim Sum is all meat, nothing for a vegetarian except Spring Rolls. So odd to me how limiting the menu is. Whenever I travel to other states and countries I can easily find Veggie Dim Sum. So, anyway, I ordered from the meal menu, Mushrooms w/veggies and that was also not great either, see the pic. So if you're a meat eater you may enjoy.

    Went there for lunch and the restaurant was not as busy as before with lots of tables open We haven't been there in a while and decided to go there since we were in town. The Shrimp pork hash shumai was not the same it lacked the flavor and texture was different. The Steamed Char Sui bun was good the bun was soft and lots of filling. The Chicken feet was not very good it had a sour taste and not like the flavor it use to be. The Scallops dim sum was very good and tasty! The half moon the wrap was dry and hard not moist and chewy, it was one of the worst half moon I ever had. The dry char siu chow fun was on the bland side, not like before. Some friends told me that they were closing, but told them they are still open for business? I wonder if they sold to someone else but kept the name? Because the food is not the same as before! Or maybe different cook? Either way was not happy with the dishes. No parking you have to park in the public parking close by or find street parking. Service was good, food came out fast.

    Mei Sum is where you go for your average, comfort dim sum food. It consists of that small mom-and-pop vibes where although you do have to wait sometimes for a table to be cleaned or your order to be taken, you can see they're understaffed and working hard. The dim sum itself can be a bit pricey with items ranging from $5.75 to $7.50, but hey, that's just Oahu prices nowadays. Note: you do get free tea and they take credit card!

    This dim sum spot is the definition of unpretentious -- simple setting, no gimmicks, just plate after plate of steaming, delicious comfort food. The har gow and siu mai were packed and flavorful, cakes had the perfect crisp edges, and the buns were soft with just the right hint of sweetness. Service was quick and unfussy, and I loved how each round made me want to order "just one more" before leaving. Not a place for atmosphere, but absolutely one for flavor. I left full, happy, and already planning my return. 呢間點心舖真係樸實無華嘅代表----環境簡單,冇花巧,淨係一碟又一碟熱辣辣、美味嘅家常滋味。蝦餃同燒賣飽滿又夠味,糕點煎到外脆內軟,包子鬆軟,帶少少甜味,啱啱好。服務爽快直接,冇多餘嘢。每一輪上枱,我都忍唔住想再加多籠,臨走之前都唔想停。唔係嚟睇氣氛嘅地方,但味道真係一流。我食到又飽又開心,已經諗緊幾時再嚟。

    10/10 would recommend . Service was fast and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Very convenient spot for anyone in the downtown area. It wasnt very busy for being a Sunday evening.

    Mei Sum was wonderful 20 years ago. Not. Anymore. Most of their fried options like Taro Scallop come out super oily like they've been fried multiple times. Pretty gross actually. Most of the steamed dim sum is average at least. We ordered vegetables and it's served basically with pure oyster sauce on the side. Then after a friend paid the bill for a pretty large tab, one of the older ladies rudely said "tip no included" and recommend she pay $36 or 20% I mean, OMFG!

    I haven't seen any curbside. To begin with they are so busy so I honestly don't think they have curbside assistance with your dim sum. If anything just park nearby and run in and grab your food!

    yes and its really yummy i totally recommend it..

Lastly, the char siu & duck platter was very good. They do a good job of putting some char on the bbq pork. The duck was tasty, but there were a couple of bony pieces. Regarding the ambiance, its big in here. Although they don't use carts, the aisles are wide. The servers were friendly & warm. I would def return for dim sum, but I also want to come for dinner. The food is very good, and the prices are reasonable.

    Better late than never, but come too late and missed out on the good stuff?…read more Honolulu Seafood Restaurant is a sister restaurant to Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. Located in Downtown in the same space where Yong Sing, Mandalay, and the short-lived Bourbon Street used to be. Inside feels and looks essentially the same as the prior restaurants. Huge, open, two levels. Would you believe there was once a time where the second floor was an option to sit because it was just that busy? Hours is basically 10am everyday till 3pm, then 5-930pm. Seems like the hours are geared towards Downtown workers. Where to park? 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday, park in the Ali'i Place Parking garage. Entrance is right past the restaurant. Only 75 cents per half hour and restaurant validates one dollar. After 5pm on weekdays, and 8-1am on weekends, park at Bishop Square Parking. Entrance is across from the restaurant, entrance from the left lane of Alakea. Cost is $1.50 with validation. The regular menu is exactly the same as Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. However, the dim sum is not the case. It's much, much less. There's only 16 total, and 7 more on weekends only. It's essentially the bare basics (but no beef ball!). All the dim sum looks exactly the same as Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant, but everything was on the bland side and just felt like it was missing something. Steamed Spareribs was one note and meat was not as tender. Beef Look Funn was good. The look funn had perfect thinness and texture. If have this dish, how come cannot have steamed beef balls? Chicken Feet was good. Soft, tasty, and meaty. But just ate and felt one note. Pan Fried Shrimp and Chives Dumplings was pretty good. Pan fried very well. Generous amount of filling. Just on the bland side. Chicken Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf was pretty good! Soft, moist mochi rice with a good amount of tasty filling. The Bean Curd Roll with Pork was probably the most flavorful dim sum of the meal. Jam-packed with tasty and flavorful filling. Overall, the dim sum was decent and almost similar to Kapiolani Seafood, but it was a touch on the bland side and a slight step below. Service was good. Friendly and attentive. Food came out pretty quick. Inside was cool, spacious, and comfortable. I want to come back on my lunch break! I don't mind dim sum'ing solo! Hopefully there'll be more dim sum choices. I remember seeing on social media they had some unique items only at this location. But I guess I'm too late! **I heard some news, maybe rumors, but the Kapiolani Seafood location might be forced to move due to that and the next lot being torn down for..... you guessed it, more condos! I addition to dim sum, they have a pretty varied menu. Noodles, duck, chicken... you name it, they got it! Parking is pretty easy in the chinese cultural plaza structure. Get a ticket, then pay at the kiosk.

Generous chunks of hardened and seemingly old char siu filled the look fun, making it difficult to eat and with a lack of tender flavored char siu. Loved that the sweet sauce is served separately in a squeeze bottle so that you can use as much as you want. * Dong Po Pork. This Hangzhou dish is pork belly braised in soy sauce, Shaoxiang wine, and rock sugar until it's tender and melts in your mouth. The pork bell is tied with a string to hold its shape, and staff will use a scissors to remove it. This dish is savory, sweet and has a rich caramelization; served with broccoli to balance the richness of the sauce. Eaten with rice, I really enjoyed this dish! Well plated and executed! Portions are generous, but price point may be contentious, as some dishes appear to be over-priced, like the char siu look fun. We arrived mid-morning on a weekday, and it was not very crowded. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and bilingual, which made communication easy. Service was quick and efficient. No moving carts, as you're given a sheet of listed dim sum to check off the ones you want to order. The large interior is spacious and clean. Its banquet hall can hold a max of 30+ tables for a private party. There are also smaller private rooms. Extensive renovations were made after the previous restaurant closed. Hours of operation are Thurs to Tues 8a to 9p and Wed 8a to 3p. Regular entrees are not prepared until 10a when the cooks arrive for work. Private parking available in back of the restaurant, municipal parking lots are nearby, and metered street parking are available. Extensive delicious menu offerings, generous portions, and efficient and friendly customer service will likely result in return visits to try other items on the menu. We happened to get a good parking spot so heck, why not go check it out. I read a Yelper's review later that it has parking in the back. Ok, now we know! It's located on King St. near the red dragon pillars. Dining area is pretty big- lots of tables. There are no roving dimsum carts- you order on a sheet the item you want and quantity. What surprised me right off were the prices. I know things are rough for businesses and price hikes are necessary for the bottom line but $5.95/ $7.35 for dim sum? If you want steamed look fun, it'll cost you $10-11. Yikes! Our usual dim sum place is about $1-3 less. But to be fair, the size of the dimsum is huge. The chicken feet we had was sooo plump and the other dim sum looked like overstuffed balls. So okay, maybe the price is fair? Each plate came with 3. The food was tasty too except the chao zhou dumplings with peanut was salty for our taste. Service was okay-the place was hopping so the servers are too busy to check on your tea, order more food, etc. Go up and pay your bill.

But...the interior is something else. Super clean, bright, inviting and bustling with activity. We waited only a few minutes before being seated. We were given a menu and ordered quickly. We ordered beef chow fun and the stewed meat dish. The food came out hot and quickly. The first bite proved the hype is to be believed. Soup dish had lotsa of meat and noodles. Soup was flavorful and very thinner but great with the meat and noodles. The beef chow fun...definitely had the essence of the wok. Absolutely worth coming.
