Chef Bo and her husband, Jeffrey, started her business called Bo's Ktichen, with passion for cooking at the Ohana Hale Marketplace in Honolulu on Oct. 2018 with a tiny booth and small menu, making Cantonese =comfort food, handmade dumplings, and noodle soups. In May 2021, a 2nd location was started at Pearlridge Shopping Center, but both locations closed due to building contracts. In May 2022, Bo found a spot on So. Beretania St, which is its current location, and with time and experience, its menu was expanded. Family-owned Bo's Kitchen's popular dishes include beef chow fun, Hainanese chicken rice, dumplings, and won ton noodle soups. It makes its chicken noodle broth from scratch, and its beef brisket is braised for five hours. We've tried these and agree that Chef Bo has done her best in offering her best dishes, and many are exactly how my mother used to make her won ton dumplings and variations. Until one day, I asked Chef Bo what she recommended as another dish that I try. She mentioned dumplings with a "peanut sauce" that had a sweet peanut, satah, hoi sin sauce blend on won tons and noodles. Yes, I tried it, and nope, could not finish it. Peanut butter sauce on won tons? Nope, you can't convince me that I'm missing out on something, because I'm not. Yes, something different, but not for me. The peanut sauce is sweet, rich, and savory. Chef Bo and Jeremy are very friendly owners who are willing to please. They will take time out to talk to you to get feedback. The small cozy restaura nt is bright and clean. Hours of operation are Mon to Sat 8:30a to 10:30p and Sun 10a to 9p. Free parking available in private lot that is shared with other businesses. We wish Chef Bo and Jeremy continued success in their family restaurant! We will return to try the many dishes of their menu. Support local!
We've ordered take out from Bo's many times, but it's usually been their noodles and soup dishes. After babysitting my granddaughter, we were too tired (lazy) to cook, so my daughter ordered delivery. I opted to try the Beef Brisket with rice plate, while my daughter ordered her usual noodle soup with side orders of chicken dumplings and garlic beans. The food arrived fairly quickly and it was all still hot. The flavor of the brisket was very similar to pork kau yuk, with the slight star anise flavor. It was meaty and delicious, but I wished it was a bit more saucy. The green beans were cooked perfectly and the garlic flavor was fairly mild, and not overpowering. The dumplings were most and tender inside, with a slight chew to the wrapper; very delicious. Good, tasty Chinese food at reasonable prices.
This place surprised me when I got the won ton mein to go. Huge won tons, and great amount of noodles, that were still crunchy like the traditional version. Add some chili and you are good to go! They have an assortment of Chinese dishes to try, and I can't wait to go back. Maybe braised beef next time!
Our 2nd trip to Bo's kitchen Here for a quick early dinner so parking wasn't a problem! Lots of seating available too. Ordered the beef brisket with rice- really tasty and beef really tender. We loved this dish - at 1st seeing the dish served with lettuce was a bit off put but it really was a nice addition. Will order it again Fried beef noodles- good but a bit too much sauce but the large pieces of beef was tasty and tender. Servers are really nice and we enjoyed our meal. We'll return soon to try more menu items. Their dumplings are excellent and can't wait to have it again!
Today, 04/20/26, I wanted to eat at Bo's Kitchen. This isn't my first visit. I have been here on several occasions and I enjoy the chicken jook. I even ordered take out of a small chicken jook to bring to my hospitalized family member. For our lunch, we ordered spring rolls, black bean beef chow fun and sesame balls. The chow fun came out first. It was hot and covered with too much black bean sauce, hence it was salty. The beef was tender but the sauce over powered the dish. 3/5 stars Then came the spring rolls and the sesame balls. The sesame balls were very hot but not fresh. Maybe it was previously frozen? The dough was oddly dry and not chewy. The black bean filling was alright. 3/5 stars Now onto the terrible spring rolls! Look at the photo and you decide what I nearly bit into! Ugh. 0/5 stars. An employee in the back of the kitchen area came forward when I approached our server with the dish. The employee (not our server) attempted to persuade me that it was either a bean or a piece of chili. She even squished it between her fingers to say it was soft. Yuck! No thank you. I had already taken a picture of the spring roll and asked Google what it was. I included Google's finding. She was concerned that I had a picture of it. I even let her take a screenshot of the picture and I showed her the Google results. Still she said it wasn't a bug. I leave the decision to our readers. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Restaurant seating area ambiance is pretty clean ( I did not see the kitchen) and interestingly the restaurant has jewelry for sale. Simple tables and chairs for patrons. Service was great until the spring rolls incident. And it didn't help that the employee kept denying that it was a bug. At least the restaurant did not charge us for the spring rolls. But now, I'm not sure I'll return again. I think if the restaurant had immediately acknowledged the situation, I would've been able to maybe accept this as a one time thing. But the employee's attitude and continued denial of anything wrong took this to another level. Service 1/5 stars. Limited free parking.
Unpretentious, bordering on "hole-in-the-wall" vibes but oh man the food is seriously DELICIOUS!! . Been three times this week and I'm still just getting started with their range of noodle and dumpling soups. Portions are generous, and every dish is hearty with depth of flavor. They clearly do a strong takeout business, too. People were constantly coming in to pick up food. Prices are fair for what you get. Parking is limited up front, but there's plenty of street parking nearby. Happy Eating!! 41

I miss being able to eat their noodles since they moved out of Pearlridge several years ago. We were in town and I was craving their skinny noodles so we stopped by for lunch on a Friday. There is a small lot of about 6 stalls on Beretania and unfortunately for us, they were all full. We drove to the back and there is a much bigger lot off of Kinau St. They have so many choices of noodles and rice dishes and I had a hard time deciding between soupy noodles or dry noodles. I went with the tossed noodles with won ton. It came out pretty quick and it was delicious! I like spicy food, so I added some of their chili oil and that made it so much better for me. My husband got the chicken with black bean tossed noodles. There were alot of chicken pieces in it along with some slivers of round onion. I didn't taste it, but he said some of the chicken pieces were hard. They left a pitcher of iced water on our table. Once our food came, they never came to check on us at all, which was fine since we didn't need anything. It would've been a different story if we needed something. We finished our lunch and went to pay at the counter. The egg tarts looked good so we got 2 of them: OMG they were so good! It wasn't the usual bready pie crust. The egg custard was on a super flaky, buttery crust. It was 10/10. I would definitely return when I have a craving for their yummy skinny noodles.
Bo's kitchen is conveniently located on S. Beretania street across of the Honolulu police station. Parking is limited in front of the restaurant but there's more parking in the back on the 2nd floor but you would have to drive around the block to get to it. We frequent this place often and today we just came here for a quick bite and got the garlic fried chicken wings, pork hash, and egg tarts... they were all so good! Staff and service are always great!
Tried Bo's Kitchen after hearing many good reviews. Tried them when they were at Ohana Marketplace and wasnt too impressed, as I witnessed their cooking was via microwave. I was happy that their restaurant had late hours. Service was great, even though there was only 1 lady working; we went late so it was fine. Food came out fast. Prices were reasonable but dishes were on the saltier side (use of saltier sauces) and simplistic. Funn with mixed sauce and wonton - interesting combo with the peanut and hoisin (?l) sauce. Decent wonton. Could use less hoisin sauce. Fried buns with condensed milk - always yummy. Needs more condensed milk though. Green onion pancakes - decent but slightly greasy and not enough flavor. Sauce was a little odd. Cucumber salad with jellyfish - sauce was salty. Actually good if you shake off the excess (black) sauce. Garlic green bean - super salty sauce. Nice crunch though. Tofu salad - yummy! Love that the tofu is seasoned. Will be back if looking for late night, simple eats.
Stormy rainy days call for won ton soup, and their won tons and dumplings are handmade! Friends had the mapo tofu noodles, won ton with mixed noodles, and the funn with peanut sauce. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the staff gave us the mini Jin dui for dessert. Sadly, they had sold out of the egg tarts already! Brightly lit, with clean, spacious tables, loved my frequent water refills (thank you!), (and they provide keys to the restrooms upstairs), plus handmade shrimp chips, and even jewelry for sale! They also have laksa specials. Condiments are self serve along the service desk. Lots of walk ins and take out orders, the phone was ringing non stop!
I never dined in here, but I did order delivery twice in less than a week through doordash. Both times the food came nicely packed, well organized, and hot. The first time I've ordered almost a week ago was the pork hash, garlic green beans, mabo tofu with noodles, rice noodle and dumplings, and a pork belly dish with rice (can't remember the name). My favorite has to be the rice noodle cake with dumplings. It had peanut sauce and even reheating it on the stove made it satisfying to eat as leftovers. Each dish had between 6-8 pork and shrimp dumplings. The portions are generous which is enough for two meals. The pork hash came in 3s with the hot mustard and shoyu. Again these were good as well and not as oily and greasy. The pork belly was stringy and the rice was meh. It tries way too hard to copy Tom Khem which is a Laos dish. My mom had the tofu dish and after a while she did mention that the noodles got mushy and had no flavor. Then again she had to take a blood test so she had to watch her salt intake. I also tried the tofu and it was soft and not overly salty. The second time I ordered which was today, I replaced the rice dish with the char siu noodle soup and it was so good. It was the right portion size and the hot broth that's separate from the contents help soften the noodles. I also ordered coconut pudding and even though I have yet to try it, my mom said it was really good so I'm looking forward to it. Edit: I have now tried the coconut pudding and it was a generous portion. A nice refreshing and cold treat especially since we are now in the summer season. There is just a hint of coconut flavor though and shredded coconut flakes don't exist but it's still worth eating as a dessert or a snack. On both orders, I've ordered garlic green beans and it was the best tasting garlicky green beans I have ever tried. Overall, this place does serve good food but I'll probably skip the rice dishes and focus more on the noodle dishes and their sides.
Bo's Kitchen is a mom-and-pop Cantonese restaurant with other Asian favorites like laksa, jajangmyeon, and Japanese curry, to name a few. This is my first time trying their food, and I have a lot of positive thoughts regarding their dishes. Their beef brisket noodle was one of my all-time favorites compared to other locations, because they are generous with the amount of brisket they give you and they use egg noodles by default. Their soup was okay, but the braised and marinated meat was definitely the highlight of this dish. Overall, a great late night evening option in town for Cantonese comfort food, even among those coming from China; I think that speaks volumes about the authenticity of their food and quality. Highly recommend and would love to return to try their laksa in the future. read more
I hadn't been here in three years. The first time here I did not like it at all. I decided to Uber Eat it to my job. I got the wonton noodles with brisket. I'm not sure of the price, because Uber has different pricing from the establishment. This time around I really liked it. The broth was flavored and the wontons didn't have big chunks of pork in it. It was actually minced. The brisket was tasty and tender. If you don't know what to get from here, get this. The wonton noodles with brisket. I appreciate that they separated the broth from the noodles. Who wants to eat soggy noodles? read more

Bo's kitchen offers Chinese comfort food at affordable prices and generous portions. I have been here a handful of times and have yet to be disappointed by their food. I ordered 5 items off their menu and they arranged for pick up time to be 30 minutes. Talk about fast! I got two beef brisket wonton noodle soups, a choi sum tofu noodle soup, their choi sum with oyster sauce, and the green beans with tofu. I also listed these in order of best to worst tasting, with the beans/tofu still being a satisfactory 8/10 (could be better with more sauce and if the garlic were more toasted.) The beef in the brisket soup was a bit lean (great if you're not looking for the fatty meat cuts), but I am one who loves pork belly, so just a tan bit lean. Overall, food was great and still hot by the time I got home with the take out order. Will definitely be back! FYI: there are limited parking stalls on the King street side, but if swing around back; there's a much bigger lot. read more

Parking is just right next to the building (ignore the reserved sign but look at the Bo's sign) and to the left (where the handicap stalls are). The other side is reserved Black bean chow fun was just ok. Chow fun noodles w sauce dumped on it. Vege chow fun didn't have much vege either. Hainese chicken was not as good as before read more

We got a little confused on the map, I've drove past before but coming from the windward side I punched in the location and it took us to the back side parking. Regardless it was still easy to fine, parking is small and limited. Inside has about 8 (4 seater tables) they can connect for larger parties. First time here but was loving the menu, I went with the mapu tofu with noodles and spring rolls. We also got the crispy chicken wonton, and garlic chicken on noodles. Everything was tasty and good flavor. Definitely a place I would come again if in the area. read more
Happened upon this place as a recommendation from Yelp of course. We really want to try some Chinese food while visiting Hawaii and had a great meal at Bo's. I recall getting a good amount of food to the point where we brought it back to the AirBnB and had it for breakfast. We had the noodles, which were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The staff there were very nice but the elephant in the room. That parking is rough but it's not like I have not seen it before in HI. Never easy and absolutely a shock to visitors just trying to stop in. Overall pretty good place to hang out, I would come back next time, thanks Bo's! read more
This is the 4th time I've been here. I keep trying to like this place but I don't think I love it. I don't think I order the right things because everyone else's meals always looks better. This time I got the fried chicken noodle soup. The soup was alright. I liked the type of noodles served in it. The entire dish was just a little plain but that's exactly what is shown on the picture. I also found a little bug in the soup which might have been from the vegetable. Our server was nice. The restaurant itself is a hole in the wall type of vibe. read more

Bo's kitchen is located on Beretania, close to the police station and furniture stores. There are limited spots in their lot, reserved for customers. Make sure to read the signage carefully! I believe there are additional parking options for this location, though I'm not 100% sure where. I did not see a restroom inside the restaurant, though I did not ask staff. The restaurant is well-kept and clean. There are limited tables and seats for eating in, though I noticed many people ordering to-go. I appreciated the self-serve station with napkins, chili oil, utensils, etc. My boyfriend enjoyed his beef noodle soup. He added pork dumplings for an additional cost. I liked my chicken laska. I needed a hot soup to remedy my cold. The tamarind and spice helped clear my congestion. The only thing my boyfriend and I would have changed are the noodles. The egg noodles are very thin and clump together easily. Closer to instant ramen noodles. Overall, flavors are good. The spicy wontons were our favorite. Delicious! The staff works really hard. The server that helped us managed the whole front of the store by herself. I will come back again! read more
Across the Beretania Police Station in a small complex ground floor is Bo's Kitchen, and if you're looking for a late night restaurant they open most days until 10:30 pm. Family run busy with friendly service and really nice . I ordered the won ton min and they use the Chinese style egg noodles with a light chicken broth with was different and good, the won ton was one of the best I had, very tasty and great flavor and texture. My wife ordered the char siu noodles soup, which she enjoyed. We been trying to check out this place, due to all the Yelpers good reviews, but the parking in front has only 4-5 stalls and I didn't know that they have parking behind which you have to enter from Kinau street. read more
Added the beef chow funn to our usual order and were not disappointed. Lots of beef, well seasoned, and great wok hei - actually one of the better versions of this dish I've had in awhile. We also tried the mixed sauce wontons (as well as the mandatory spicy). It was sweet peanut satay sauce and a teriyaki/unagi type sweet glaze. I love dumplings so had to try here. We came for dinner and were a little confused initially. We got seated with menus but we didn't know you had to go up to the window to order. After a while, we figured it out though. They were very nice, we were just confused. The place initially didn't have too many people but then it got crowded. It's not a super large place so it can't hold too many but a party of about 8 came and they got seated next to us. I got the brisket noodle soup. I thought it was ok. But my friend got the steamed rice noodle with wonton and I liked that much more! The sauce was so good. The noodles were the perfect texture. I liked the wontons in that one better than in the soup as well. I didn't love mine but k would come back again to try other dishes as well. Their menu is very large so we didn't really know what to get. But I would get the steamed noodle with wonton again for sure. read more

I had heard so many good things about this place that I had to pick up some lunch before I returned my carshare. I had no idea what to get and I only had half an hour so I quickly looked at the menu and found something I hoped to enjoy when I got home. I saw a macha drink on the counter and asked if I could have one. The nice lady who took my order corrected me and said its was green tea and gave it to me as the person who ordered it hadn't come to pick it up yet. When I got home and opened the container, I mixed up the broccoli, beef and noodles together (I was really in the mood for noodles and broccoli) and dove in. I was happy for the Hong Kong noodles (much more substantive than regular noodles) but there wasn't much taste to it and when I reached the bottom of the dish, there was water left behind, which may have been condensation from the food being covered. I do want to try them again, but next time I'll check for Yelp recommendations first. read more

Damn the laksa noodle soup lowkey hit the spot harder than expected. Saucy wontons and fried rice was also a mood. This is the type of no frills spot that mean business. The younger guy with nice style served us and he was a vibe!!! Super friendly, helpful and funny. read more
Great late night spot that serves solid food. The wonton noodles are bomb and they're one of the few spots that have the rice noodle rolls. The laksa was also a crowd favorite with my group. The flavors give me 'home cooking' vibes and I'm all for it. read more

The sauce that came on the side was so good. Very flavorful with the bits of I believe finely chopped fried garlic pieces. The egg custard tarts had the best buttery, flaky crust n' perfect custard center. One pork hash was mushy on the bottom where the dumpling wrapper sort of steamed off, but aside from that they were monstah size. Loved the Thai green milk tea, tasty n' refreshing. Comfort food! I love coming on a cold day to eat their noodle soups and dumplings. Decent portions and reasonably priced food. Love the variety of Cantonese foods and custard tarts. Small lot in front but more parking on the top lot. Friendly service and quick! read more

The absolute best dumplings I have ever had in my life. These are not stuffed with 100% whatever meat/rice. They have lots of lovely seasoned greens ... just up my alley, just heavenly. And I was in the neighborhood only to look at an apartment... had some extra time so got one of the three parking spots at Bo's at 11:30 AM on a Sunday... what a delicious surprise!! Omg so delicious full of flavor!!!! Eat in area small and serves its purpose. Parking lot is limited. Very limited. Copped me a table next to the window with some sun and enjoyed my lunch . Service seems to move right along. I ordered ahead then decided to stay glad I did. I was able to have hot food. Best noodles I've had in awhile !!! Tasted the fried chicken wasn't a fan. It was what I was gonna order but happy with my beef noodles. read more
