Homey, comforting, delicious Chinese food. On a Saturday night there was ample parking at the front of the eatery. This place would be classified as a hole in wall with good fresh foods. There are so many offerings from bubble tea, egg tart, dumplings and noodles. We were seated quickly and noted most patrons did take out. Once seated there is a server that takes your order. We ordered beef chow fun, green onion pancake, fried rice, salad, green beans and dumplings. Everything came out so fast! The food was fresh with that familiar wok essence from the noodles and rice. I never dined in here, but I did order delivery twice in less than a week through doordash. Both times the food came nicely packed, well organized, and hot. The first time I've ordered almost a week ago was the pork hash, garlic green beans, mabo tofu with noodles, rice noodle and dumplings, and a pork belly dish with rice (can't remember the name). My favorite has to be the rice noodle cake with dumplings. It had peanut sauce and even reheating it on the stove made it satisfying to eat as leftovers. Each dish had between 6-8 pork and shrimp dumplings. The portions are generous which is enough for two meals. The pork hash came in 3s with the hot mustard and shoyu. Again these were good as well and not as oily and greasy. The pork belly was stringy and the rice was meh. It tries way too hard to copy Tom Khem which is a Laos dish. My mom had the tofu dish and after a while she did mention that the noodles got mushy and had no flavor. Then again she had to take a blood test so she had to watch her salt intake. I also tried the tofu and it was soft and not overly salty. The second time I ordered which was today, I replaced the rice dish with the char siu noodle soup and it was so good. It was the right portion size and the hot broth that's separate from the contents help soften the noodles. I also ordered coconut pudding and even though I have yet to try it, my mom said it was really good so I'm looking forward to it. Edit: I have now tried the coconut pudding and it was a generous portion. A nice refreshing and cold treat especially since we are now in the summer season. There is just a hint of coconut flavor though and shredded coconut flakes don't exist but it's still worth eating as a dessert or a snack. On both orders, I've ordered garlic green beans and it was the best tasting garlicky green beans I have ever tried. This place surprised me when I got the won ton mein to go. Huge won tons, and great amount of noodles, that were still crunchy like the traditional version. Add some chili and you are good to go! The food arrived fairly quickly and it was all still hot. The flavor of the brisket was very similar to pork kau yuk, with the slight star anise flavor. It was meaty and delicious, but I wished it was a bit more saucy. The green beans were cooked perfectly and the garlic flavor was fairly mild, and not overpowering. Chef Bo and her husband, Jeffrey, started her business called Bo's Ktichen, with passion for cooking at the Ohana Hale Marketplace in Honolulu on Oct. 2018 with a tiny booth and small menu, making Cantonese =comfort food, handmade dumplings, and noodle soups. In May 2021, a 2nd location was started at Pearlridge Shopping Center, but both locations closed due to building contracts. In May 2022, Bo found a spot on So. Beretania St, which is its current location, and with time and experience, its menu was expanded. Family-owned Bo's Kitchen's popular dishes include beef chow fun, Hainanese chicken rice, dumplings, and won ton noodle soups. It makes its chicken noodle broth from scratch, and its beef brisket is braised for five hours. We've tried these and agree that Chef Bo has done her best in offering her best dishes, and many are exactly how my mother used to make her won ton dumplings and variations. Until one day, I asked Chef Bo what she recommended as another dish that I try. She mentioned dumplings with a "peanut sauce" that had a sweet peanut, satah, hoi sin sauce blend on won tons and noodles. Yes, I tried it, and nope, could not finish it. Peanut butter sauce on won tons? Nope, you can't convince me that I'm missing out on something, because I'm not. Yes, something different, but not for me. The peanut sauce is sweet, rich, and savory. Our 2nd trip to Bo's kitchen Here for a quick early dinner so parking wasn't a problem! Lots of seating available too. Ordered the beef brisket with rice- really tasty and beef really tender. We loved this dish - at 1st seeing the dish served with lettuce was a bit off put but it really was a nice addition. Will order it again Fried beef noodles- good but a bit too much sauce but the large pieces of beef was tasty and tender. Servers are really nice and we enjoyed our meal. Unpretentious, bordering on "hole-in-the-wall" vibes but oh man the food is seriously DELICIOUS!! . Been three times this week and I'm still just getting started with their range of noodle and dumpling soups. Portions are generous, and every dish is hearty with depth of flavor. Today, 04/20/26, I wanted to eat at Bo's Kitchen. This isn't my first visit. I have been here on several occasions and I enjoy the chicken jook. I even ordered take out of a small chicken jook to bring to my hospitalized family member. For our lunch, we ordered spring rolls, black bean beef chow fun and sesame balls. The chow fun came out first. It was hot and covered with too much black bean sauce, hence it was salty. The beef was tender but the sauce over powered the dish. 3/5 stars Then came the spring rolls and the sesame balls. The sesame balls were very hot but not fresh. Maybe it was previously frozen? The dough was oddly dry and not chewy. The black bean filling was alright. 3/5 stars Now onto the terrible spring rolls! Look at the photo and you decide what I nearly bit into! Ugh. 0/5 stars. An employee in the back of the kitchen area came forward when I approached our server with the dish. The employee (not our server) attempted to persuade me that it was either a bean or a piece of chili. She even squished it between her fingers to say it was soft. Yuck! No thank you. I had already taken a picture of the spring roll and asked Google what it was. I included Google's finding. She was concerned that I had a picture of it. I even let her take a screenshot of the picture and I showed her the Google results. Still she said it wasn't a bug. I leave the decision to our readers. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Restaurant seating area ambiance is pretty clean ( I did not see the kitchen) and interestingly the restaurant has jewelry for sale. Simple tables and chairs for patrons. Service was great until the spring rolls incident. And it didn't help that the employee kept denying that it was a bug. At least the restaurant did not charge us for the spring rolls. But now, I'm not sure I'll return again. I think if the restaurant had immediately acknowledged the situation, I would've been able to maybe accept this as a one time thing. I was happy that their restaurant had late hours. Service was great, even though there was only 1 lady working; we went late so it was fine. Food came out fast. Prices were reasonable but dishes were on the saltier side (use of saltier sauces) and simplistic. Funn with mixed sauce and wonton - interesting combo with the peanut and hoisin (?l) sauce. Decent wonton. Could use less hoisin sauce. Fried buns with condensed milk - always yummy. Needs more condensed milk though. Green onion pancakes - decent but slightly greasy and not enough flavor. Stormy rainy days call for won ton soup, and their won tons and dumplings are handmade! Friends had the mapo tofu noodles, won ton with mixed noodles, and the funn with peanut sauce. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the staff gave us the mini Jin dui for dessert. Sadly, they had sold out of the egg tarts already! Met my family for dinner at Bo's Kitchen. It was the first for most of us. Nearly all of us got the laksa soup and the others got the braised beef noodles. We ordered the spicy won tons to share. The laksa soup was pretty tasty (3.5/5) and my only criticism was the rice noodles were not what I was expecting. I thought it would be flat look fun noodles or the thin pho noodles. But it was the round fat rice noodles. I didn't hear how my cousin liked his braised beef noodle soup. But he seemed to be happy and ate most of it so I'm guessing it was pretty good. The spicy won tons were pretty good (3.5/5). It was nothing amazing but tasty nonetheless. The restaurant is no frills. It's kind of dingy if you ask me and could use a good scrub down. But hey it's Hawaii and I kind of like the homey feel. Service was very friendly and accommodating, I found out after the fact that the restaurant tries their best to make any adjustments to suit diner tastes. That's definitely a plus in my book. We got a little confused on the map, I've drove past before but coming from the windward side I punched in the location and it took us to the back side parking. Regardless it was still easy to fine, parking is small and limited. Inside has about 8 (4 seater tables) they can connect for larger parties. Family run busy with friendly service and really nice . I love dumplings so had to try here. We came for dinner and were a little confused initially. We got seated with menus but we didn't know you had to go up to the window to order. After a while, we figured it out though. They were very nice, we were just confused. The place initially didn't have too many people but then it got crowded. It's not a super large place so it can't hold too many but a party of about 8 came and they got seated next to us. I got the brisket noodle soup. I thought it was ok. But my friend got the steamed rice noodle with wonton and I liked that much more! The sauce was so good. The noodles were the perfect texture. I had heard so many good things about this place that I had to pick up some lunch before I returned my carshare. I had no idea what to get and I only had half an hour so I quickly looked at the menu and found something I hoped to enjoy when I got home. I saw a macha drink on the counter and asked if I could have one. The nice lady who took my order corrected me and said its was green tea and gave it to me as the person who ordered it hadn't come to pick it up yet. When I got home and opened the container, I mixed up the broccoli, beef and noodles together (I was really in the mood for noodles and broccoli) and dove in. I was happy for the Hong Kong noodles (much more substantive than regular noodles) but there wasn't much taste to it and when I reached the bottom of the dish, there was water left behind, which may have been condensation from the food being covered. Fast take out, which is great because parking is so sparse. They took over the old Tai Sei Ramen spot. I appreciate the huge variety of dishes they have on offer. Been ordering doordash and Uber eats at this spot for a while. Finally had a chance to swing by and try it out. I got the chicken rice and my partner got the mapo tofu. The rice dishes were okay, not crazy impress with it. However they wonton, beef look fun is legit. Their chow fun looks good too but I didnt get those today. Service was quick and nice. The place looks like Chinatown inside, didnt bother me but it ain't for any fancy dates. read more

This is the first place I think of when I'm not feeling well. Like last night I was in desperate need of soup. Luckily for me Bo's still had CHICKEN JOOK available. A warm bowl of simple delicious rice porridge with pieces of chicken floating in it was just what I needed. Their late night hours are a godsend. Plus their central location in town makes it not far from where I live. Also in addition to the parking in front of the building there is a huge additional lot located behind the building accessible on Kinau Street. read more

Located in the old CS Wo building on Beretania, our party of 4 was able to snag parking right in front - close to the restaurant. Walking inside, the place looks bright, clean and cheerful. Our server was good - filled our water several times and checked on our table to make sure everything was okay. As for the food - I am looking forward to eating here again! Our party of 4 shared the beef brisket noodle soup, green beans with garlic, house tofu salad, house dumplings (very delicious - made with pork), spicy wonton(I couldn't try because it had shrimp, but everyone on the table said the shrimp was cut in pieces and had a good texture), and chicken with black bean egg noodles. I'm glad we decided to eat here for our first Saturday into 2025. read more

Bo's Kitchen on Beretania Street offers Cantonese Style comfort food from noodles, dumplings and amazing soups. With not many late dining options for soup, we found Bo's Kitchen closes at 10:30pm. Located in a small plaza, Bo's Kitchen seats about 20 people with a couple of tables seating up to 6. A good steady flow of patrons were coming for late night dining as well as patrons picking up and ordering food to go. For this visit I went with the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. The brisket was generous and the noodles were fresh. I would order this again as the broth was tasty and not too salty. We also ordered the Green Onion Pancake as a starter and it was a great way to start the meal. Great experience at Bo's Kitchen as the food and service was great. Highly recommend if you are looking for late night dining. read more

Bo's Kitchen is another Ohana Market Place success story. I used to go to their little shop in the old Sport's Authority and I'm happy another small business from that place has made it. Cooking Cantonese comfort cuisine, Bo's Kitchen is open fairly late aka 10:30 pm, by Hawaii standards, giving people a good choice for late night eats, but prepare to go to Zippy's for those staying out to the morning light. My better half wanted noodles after a Waikiki comedy show and our parking was almost up, so off to Bo's it was. There's a fair number of stalls out front and the landlord never got around to changing the reserved sign from the old Tai Sei Ramen, who used to operate in that spot. We got the beef brisket noodle soup and the beef chow fun. I have to say, the prices and quantity here are amazing compared to what other places are charging. Eating out has gotten rough in the past four years and Bo's Kitchen is a blast of fresh air in terms of value. The beef brisket noodle soup at $14.75, was delicious to me with a surprisingly large amount of tender brisket. My better half prefers thinner slices, but I was down for these big chunks, and I rarely eat beef these days. There was plenty of noodles as well and the broth was well balanced without being salty. The beef chow fun was nostalgia on a plate. Slightly greasy, dry style, with tender beef, lots of cabbage and bean sprouts, and solid flavor. It's amazing how beef chow fun has gone from $6.5 to $20 in some places over the past two decades, with ever shrinking portions. So Bo's $14.95 for a big ol' plate of steaming tasty nostalgia is a solid deal these days. Delicious and comforting. The restaurant was busy at 8:30 pm on a Wednesday, with a constant stream of people dining in and doing take out and the demographics ranged from a group of old guys to college students and everyone in between. The restaurant itself is clean, well-lit with a polite, efficient staff. read more
