We came to Lobster King to celebrate my father's birthday and had a fantastic experience. We usually go to Fook Yuen for family celebrations, but decided to switch it up this time and I'm really glad we did. Parking was easy which is always a plus. There's a decent sized free shared parking lot with Splash, and if that's full there's also a paid lot nearby. Food wise, everything was excellent. We ordered our usual go to dishes along with their special golden crab, which was incredibly delicious and definitely a standout. Every dish was well seasoned and very tasty. The only slight letdown was the Peking duck it was a bit dry and the skin wasn't as crispy as we prefer, so we'll probably order something else next time. A nice surprise was that they brought out a complimentary plate of fried shrimp, which was a great touch and much appreciated. The restaurant itself is spacious, making it perfect for family gatherings, and the service was wonderful attentive without being overbearing, and they consistently checked in to make sure everything was good. They even provided everything needed to cut and serve our birthday cake. Price wise, it's about on par with Fook Yuen. After this visit, Lobster King might be our new spot for family celebrations. We'll definitely be back.

Sizzling scallops - amazing texture and flavor, and generous portion of scallops

Service is good here, but it does take patience sometimes. The inside is clean and the 4-seaters by the windows are perfect for two. The live lobster with specialty sauce is amazing. The lobster is so tender, flavorful, and fresh. Not sure what the sauce is, but it seemed simple as it didn't have any pepper or ginger. The presentation was nice, and the cuts helped so that we didn't need to use the shell cracker or scissors much. The steamed mandu is a decent size. The sauce is made perfectly, with just a little spice and zest to keep you wanting more. The golden shrimp was fried to perfection and very filling. It had a yellow, salty coating that was really good. The sizzling scallops in black bean sauce blows me away. You really can't go wrong with black bean sauce, especially here, but the scallops are huge, buttery soft... and the bell peppers complement the dish nicely. It's a huge portion so definitely a must try. The roast duck is tasty. Typical roast duck with a lot of bones and crispy skin, but the meat is moist. If you like some salt and grease (like I do), then you'll like it. The Szechuan eggplant is flavorful and cooked just right. We ordered fried sweet and sour sea bass and it was sooo good. Not overcooked. The fish inside was moist, steamed quality, and the sauce was perfect. Overall, seafood is the way to go here. Highly recommend this spot for a cooked seafood experience. Just choose your lobster dish wisely. The specialty sauce was perfect, but we might sample another one for variety next time.

For years we've driven past and always wondered, but never take the plunge, until now. We had an absolutely amazing dinner here. I made sure to call 24hrs in advance to order their specialty, roasted squab, since we were feeling adventurous. Da pigeon (aka squab) was mean! Just like a super tender, juicy, flavorful miniature Peking duck. They also gave us complimentary salted egg yolk stir fried prawns since we ordered several dishes. The service was friendly and it was packed inside. Lobster was of course pretty good but their specialty Chinese broccoli and Squab were our favorites. Would love to come back with a big group and try more! :)

My friend saw a commercial and wanted to try..... seafood noodles- pan fried crispy and toppings were decent but the corn starch slurry was still slurry - so not mixed well and still thick n gelatin like blanketing the toppings- lobster- was alright- I normally love lobster in ginger n onion but this time I just liked it- The pei pah tofu is usually my favorite as well supposed to be soft and silky but this time it was deep fried crunchy - place was crowded so maybe others have better experience with the food-

The tofu was spoiled and the shrimp was not fresh. I informed the owner and was very unhappy.

We came here for dinner a few weeks ago because we had a gift card. We must've driven past this restaurant so many times and never bothered coming in. I always thought the parking would be such a problem but actually it turns out that it really wasn't. There's parking on King Street if you come early. It's those crazy spots where the bike lane is. There aren't many. They also have a few spots in the back of their restaurant. We were lucky to get one of those. In addition to those spots they also have another lot which is much bigger in the back. The restaurant is pretty big when you enter. It was quite lively in there and many people were eating dinner at the time. There were a lot of parties there. We ordered char siu, eggplant, beef stir fry, and chow fun. I liked all of the dishes. We had to get the lobster since it we were at Lobster King. We got the black bean lobster. That was by far my most favorite dish of the night. It was so juicy and delicious. They also gave us free fried shrimp. My daughter loved that shrimp, that was her favorite. At first she didn't like that it still had the shell on but she just dealt with it and ate almost the whole plate. Thank goodness we got a gift card for this place or we wouldn't have even tried this place. We hope to come back again for my birthday. I can't wait!

Fried Rice & Chicken Chow Mein

This was our 1st time dining at Lobster King and we were excited about trying it after friends raved about the lobster. Although the food was tasty, the lobster & Dungeness crab were grossly overcooked, causing them to be extremely dry and difficult to deshell. The cake noodles in the chicken & shrimp chow mein were brick hard and required soaking in the sauce to tackle breaking apart. The green beans were overcooked, uncharacteristic of Chinese stir frying with the ground pork. Shrimp fried rice was minimally seasoned & bland. The only dish that was delicious was the sweet & sour pork. The service was fine and the ambiance was typical of an "old school" Chinese restaurant. Our expectations were so high but it's unfortunate that we were so disappointed with the food.

Roast Duck & Roast Pork lunch special. This holiday, I'm gonna be bringing Roast Duck from here to potlucks.

When the owner of Nam Fong retired, all the Chinese restaurants were vying for there "roasters." We have been trying different places where it was rumored that a "roaster" has gone. None of them were worth the time for me to write a review. Today's roast duck & roast pork lunch special definitely took me back to Nam Fong. Note the "Roaster" only works during the daytime. See the photo of the sign written in Chinese stating the name of the person that used to work at Nam Fong and the price of the Roast meats.

Delicious and generous portion. We always go for the fresh lobster. We usually order a rice, green beans, and one lobster each. That's it!

Came here for the first time! Service was very fast and servers were attentive! What we ate: Lobster with ginger onion - super yummy and tasty, tender, and fantastic! Tip dip the lobster in the lemon water for an even tastier bite! Crispy seafood noodles - very delicious, they cut the noodles into squares so it's easier to eat, the gravy and seafood were all cooked to perfection very tender and yummy! Fried salt and pepper squid legs - nothing short of amazing! The squid legs were long and big! Super ono! Highly recommend this place, they have bigger, which I love! Parking is to the side of building! Free parking! Will definitely come back !

We had to order one of their sig crab dishes, and we rounded out the meal w/ beef and long beans, sweet & sour pork belly, eggplant and fried rice. The crab was amazing! I added rice to the head (in Ilocano this is called "labay", adding rice to soup or broth to extend the meal). I was in heaven. The other dishes were all big portions and very good. Cake Noodle Fact: Cake noodles aren't "cake" in the dessert sense (tragic, I know). "Cake" refers…read moreto the noodle being pressed into a round, compact disk before it's pan-fried, which is exactly how you get that crispy-meets-soft texture moment. And yes, now I will absolutely be thinking about them often. If you think you know cake noodles because you've had Cantonese noodles before, Lee Ho Fook in Honolulu's Chinatown is here to humble you. I was definitely humbled. Tucked along the canal in Chinatown, Lee Ho Fook Restaurant is one of those cozy little neighborhood spots where the tables are close, the room is snug, and the noodles do all the talking. My Honolulu homies, twinsie "Auntie" Nadine C. and Cycle Buddy Randy S., brought me here for noodles and I'm eternally grateful they did. We ordered the Minute Chicken Cake Noodles, tossed noodles with choi sum and won ton, plus a side of ong choy. Every plate understood the assignment. As an Arizona girl, I had never had minute chicken or cake noodles before and fully assumed they'd be in the same lane as Cantonese noodles. Yelpers, I was wrong. Delightfully wrong. Cake noodles are a Cantonese classic but the magic is all in the texture: pan-fried until golden and crisp on the outside, while the center stays soft enough to soak up all that glossy savory sauce. It's the best of both noodle worlds - crispy and chewy. A true textural delight. The Minute Chicken Cake Noodles were the star for me. That contrast between the crispy edges and soft middle was wildly satisfying, and the chicken was silky, savory, and exactly the kind of comfort food that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate what's happening. The tossed noodles with choi sum and won ton were equally comforting in a more classic, no-fuss way, and the ong choy was the perfect green side dish that was garlicky, fresh, and necessary. Lee Ho Fook is small, comforting, and exactly the kind of place you want when what you really need is a bowl of something delicious and humble. Come hungry, bring a few friends, and order the cake noodles.

I took char siu fr the platter and added it to the bao. We might have been better off skipping the baos and ordering a rice or noodle plate. The har gow and spring rolls were pretty good. The rolls arrived piping hot, and the har gow had a nice texture in the wrapper. Fourthly, the cucumber was fresh & crunchy, and had lots of garlic. I ate some with the char siu to cut thru the fat.
