Pho, of course because it hits the spot every rainy day! I believe this place has been here for years - since my college days - and it's always been reliable, but this is my first time reviewing it. On this night in particular, I tried the pho ga (chicken pho) because I saw it in a video and I've been craving it ever since. I swear, I am so glad I waited to post this review because I grabbed chicken pho at another location and the difference is leagues!!! The broth, chicken, and noodles were just right, and there was a depth of flavor, which is very hard to do with chicken! You could really taste the comfort and chicken in every bite and slurp. Ambiance: let's face it, nobody cares about ambiance in an Asian restaurant. Wait, I can't say that because ambiance DOES matter to an extent. If the restaurant looks very aesthetic, then you know the food might not be good. This place did the bare minimum with decorations and is a mix of random stuff on the walls...so you know the food is fire! Service was great, especially considering the fact that we came in 45 minutes before closing. Food was served quick and this was not our waiters first time handling the late night crowd. He handled the whole restaurant which was our table of six, plus four, plus a party of 10. 10/10 would come here again - no question. read more

I have walked past this restaurant many times and finally decided to give it a try. With so many pho eateries around, this one unfortunately didn't stand out. The pho broth lacked depth of flavor, and the ingredients felt minimal for the premium price, not mentioning one tiny slice of lemon for the soup. The spring rolls also didn't quite hit the mark. Service was practically nonexistent; even water refills never came, yet the suggested tips started at 15%... No kidding? Well, that needs to be earned! This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I can see why it's so empty now. We ordered a rice plate and a Bun Bo Hue soup to go. Then my mom got food poisoning, had a sore stomach, and threw up after eating it. This was even after we properly reheated the already-hot soup at home for extra precaution. Their food was not fresh and was old and expired. Health inspector needs to come check this place out. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. My partner and I wasn't feeling the best and felt that a hearty vietnamese meal would help to recover us so we came by. The sprint rolls came first and fairly quickly, they were good, perfectly hot and crispy. The pho and banh xeo took a bit longer to arrive. Their pho isn't the best I've had but it's always been good enough to hit the spot. I tried their banh xeo (crepe) for the first time as well. Since it is my first time trying banh xeo, i'm unsure if every place would have similar flavors and results but their banh xeo was very sweet. The crepe was also a bit "crumbly". Overall it was fun to try but not something I would personally order again. The experience again, wasn't very notable but it was good enough to suffice. read more

Our friend invited us to lunch here today. Its the first time to eat here and I'm glad I did! Had the summer rolls, spring rolls, beef salad, fried rice, stir fried beef, some kind of crepe dish, sweet bean drink, and black iced coffee. Everything tasted great and fresh! Variety of condiments to add to your fish sauce and dish. We had a lot of leftovers to pack. The quality of their takeout containers is the best I've seen. It's paper of course, but has a special coating so that it doesn't leak or break. Also noticed the chopsticks are good quality. No splinters and easy to hold unlike those cheap chopsticks. Parking available downstairs in the covered parking garage and its free. Overall great experience here! The food was served quickly and the restaurant was very clean. read more

My friend and I came on a rainy day and got seated right away with menus already at the table. Service was very quick in taking our order and our food came out shortly after. We got the Egg Wonton Noodles and Vermicelli noodles with egg rolls/grilled pork. Both dishes were soooo tasty. The egg rolls are a must get here. The noodles were nice and comforting with a good amount of toppings. Vermicelli came with picked veg and good about of meat. Portion sizes here are huge which is awesome! The restaurant is pretty big, the space used to be Salerno back in the 80s. I ordered #11 beef pho and my friend ordered #35 bbq pork and shrimp over noodles. Both dishes were good, my pho was ok, not as tasty as other places. They bring the standard basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño peppers and lemon. The waitress came to check on us once. Located in the Mccully Shopping center on the 2nd floor Diamond head side of the building towards Fuk Yoon Chinese restaurant. They have parking lot on the street level and more below with an elevator. I had the rice and pork plate which was tasty and the meat was okay with some vegetables. Could have been more spicy and flavorful, but you can added spiciness with the condiments on the table. My wife tried the soft instead of the crispy seafood noodles which she enjoyed, but mentioned it was a little on the salty side. The table area where the basket of condiments were as we moved it closer to reach, you could see it hasn't been cleaned in a while and was pretty dirty and could attract roaches if not cleaned. I've been coming to this restaurant since high school and I absolutely recommend Pho777!! The parking may be a little crazy because it is in McCully Shopping Center, but there is usually parking on the bottom lot of you can't find any on top. My favorites are the Thai Tea, Rare Steak Pho, Summer or Spring Rolls (Either way you can't go wrong). The broth is always so delicious and flavorful! The staff is friendly and welcoming! It is usually open seating so you can choose where you want to sit; there are many booths and tables to choose from. I love Pho777 because the price is unbeatable for the quality! read more

It has been quite some time since I last visited, now that I don't travel to McCully side as often as before. The restaurant was so nostalgic, everything looked the same! I believe there is a public restroom within the center that you can use, but you may need a key. [Food & Drink] I've tried the Vietnamese iced coffee, Thai iced tea, beef pho and spring rolls at this location. The spring rolls are pretty good, though I don't order this too often. The iced coffee is nice and strong. The Thai iced tea is pretty good. But the biggest star of the show is the pho. The pho is flavorful, well-portioned and fairly priced. I also love the plentiful aromatic herbs that come with the pho (culantro, Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño, lemons). [Service] The customer service is consistent. The staff is nice, even when it's busy. But you have to be patient when there are a lot of customers. One male employee is especially friendly. He is fast, hardworking and kind. He has a good memory too! [Ambiance] The restaurant is nice for a big get together. Lots of seating. Depending on the day, it can be loud--though I argue this adds to the ambiance. We came here for lunch. It was not busy at all only 2 other occupied tables beside us. We ordered bun rieu, grilled chicken vermicelli and ice coffee. The spoons and small fishes for your condiments were filthy. We used water and napkins to clean them ourselves. They forgot my ice coffee. The bun rieu soup was disgusting with sour spoiled tasted to it. The vermicelli noodles was cold like it's been in the fridge. The grill chicken was room temperature. Although I like to support small local business this business need some food safety handling training. We inform our service of the spoiled bun rieu soup. She got the owner/cook. Instead of attempting to make things right she blame it on the shrimps paste. I explained to her the soup tasted really spoiled, sour, like it's old. She just walked away. We tasted the broth before eating the noodles or meat. No apologies or offer something else. We didn't want to make a big deal because we know we'll never come back. We went to eat in Pho 777 last week, the service is good, since the service is nice, he making sure everything is good, we order broken rice special plate but sadly they run out broken rice so they ask me if I still want they replace to normal rice, their meat is good still favoring, no dry the meat, caused some place the meat they cook is so dry. We come here whenever we are near by. The floor is almost always slippery to me. It's like there a film on it that makes it slippery. In recent years, the back of the restaurant has become cluttered with boxes and used for storage which does not look good aesthetically. The seats and tables need updating and a remodel. The food is decent. I use to get the Combo pho but this time I tried the seafood pho with vegetarian broth. The broth was very salty to my taste. I asked my husband to taste it also to confirm it was salty as I don't personally use a lot of salt. There was about 2-3 pieces of shrimp, shrimp balls, and calamari in the soup. The mochi and egg dish is different from what I remember but this is the only place we have found that does this dish. This time it was crunchier than the last few time we came here and the flavor wasn't the same. My husband got another soup and the meat in it was tender. I did like that they had vegetarian and vegan options available. The server checked on us frequently and was pleasant. My husband's soup came before the appetizer. Authentic Vietnamese restaurant ran by a small family that serves later than most Vietnamese stores (until 11pm) on the island. Everything about this restaurant reminds me of my family's old restaurant on the mainland which was very nostalgic to me. The service was slower when we went just because they had a lot of customers but understaffed. I totally understand that they did the best they could. The pho was decent. The broth was clear and it satisfied my cravings late at night but I think I will try something else next time if I want a noodle soup dish. I think the proportion was good for its price. But if you're anything like me, I thought the ratio between noodles and meat was off. I had tons of noodles and maybe 6-8 pieces of brisket. The bot chien was excellent though!!! 10/10. It honestly reminds me of my grandmas bot chien in Vietnam. Bot chien is a fried mochi w egg dish. It's usually made w rich flour or taro but I think this is made w. Rice flour. It was soo yummy. Haven't been to Pho 777 in years. We ordered take out which was perfect for this rainy weather we've been having. The parking lot is still so crowded as always and the parking stalls are so tight. Even the covered parking is not the best because it's a dead end once you get to the end of the lot. If you're just picking up food, I recommend you go with someone like we did so that one person can jump down while the other person waits in the car. I got the vermicelli bowl with pork and spring rolls. I would've preferred chicken more but they didn't have a combo like that with the spring rolls. I love their noodles because they use the thin noodles. And they give a decent portion that I was able to take half for my home lunch the next day. The male server that's usually in, wasn't there today. He's very nice & accommodating. Instead, I'm not sure if he's not owner but older viet male was our server... suppose to be our server. There was a good amount of other customers dining. But we noticed only Asians were getting good service? We ordered Thai tea. Didn't get it till we were almost done eating. The table next to us that had a group of Asians were constantly getting their water filled & checked up on. We weren't checked up on once. The food this time was disgusting . Our pho tasted like chemicals. Or cleaning products. & I wish i got a picture of their chili oil. We asked if it was chili oil & the worker wasn't sure! It was green & brown. Odd... I think this place deserves an "honorable mention" in my opinion. One of the key strengths besides their tried and true pho menu is that they stay open later than most dine-in Asian restaurants. Back in my early 20s era, this was a go-to reliable spot for me and my friends' pre-party & clubbing eats, especially when we didn't want to just eat fast food, regular plate lunches, or at other restaurants. It's very distinct when you're craving Asian food and especially pho! Lol. They're open till about 11pm! It's also an awesome hangover cure because they open so early especially for a pho restaurant, at about 9:30am. There's a nostalgic feel coming here and it's very much a mom & pop shop. It feels like you're eating at a relative's house, and I mean that in all positive ways. The dine-in area is also pretty clean. Like I mentioned, they have all your go-to pho options such as beef ball, steak, seafood, and chicken with all the vegetables, lemon, and sauces you need. They also have solid plate lunch and ala carte dishes available like bbq chicken, shrimp, pork, or fried rice. I believe they also have different options for things like spring rolls and summer rolls, not to mention they also got Thai Iced Tea! All of which is very tasty and fulfilling. I'm actually glad this place has stayed open even through the pandemic. Anybody who knows town knows that McCully Shopping Center is pretty much always busy but it's not too hard to get parking and it's an easy walk upstairs to Pho777. In recent visits they have been understaffed but the food & service is still good, quick, and easy. Good for dine in or take out, and one the only easily accessible pho spots in that particular area.
