I was set on Black garlic Tonkotsu. Served with thin ramen noods. I love thin noodles and they're not yellow. No need to dye the noodles. I like them as is. Rich broth and crunchy garlic. Their special is carmelized kimchee gyoza and Gochuchang, spicy ramen. Kimchee gyoza wasn't too spicy but spicy ramen is spicy as it should be. Best of all, music playlists were from 90s. 3 and a half stars really... Full disclosure, I ordered through Door Dash. My food was delivered with 20 minutes, which is incredibly speedy! The flavor of my creamy garlic shoyu ramen was fine. Nothing special, but good enough. However, it was cold (not room-temperature. Cold!) and there was very little of it. "Lazy tax" aside, I could've had a much tastier and more satisfying meal for way less if I had just added some veggies and (very) little meat to a pot of Sapporo noodles prepared at home. I understand times are hard, especially for small businesses, in this economy but pouring more broth would've made a big difference. Even if I had to po it in the microwave myself. read more

Everyone raves about the black garlic ramen but unfortunately I found the flavor of the broth lacking. It was more oily than deep/ rich. To be fair, it wasn't bad.. but it wasn't great either. Decent option if you want an average bowl of ramen but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. read more

A generous 4 stars because I was walking around the neighborhood and saw they sold Lumpia so I dropped in and placed an order. It was a bit pricey for 5 small Shanghai Lumpia for $7 which is the most I have ever paid for small lumpia. The lumpia were crunchy on the outside, slightly soft wrapper on the inside and meat had good flavor. I'm not sure if they make their own lumpia. It reminded me of the Shanghai Lumpia sold at Costco. On the lumpia alone I would give Nood's a 3.5 but rounded up to a generous 4.0 rating. read more

Upfront, the food was very good and tasty. They even have an all vegan menu option along with their regular menu! But the reason for my 3 out of 5 stars would be for the service... or lack of. As a party of 3 on a Monday night at 7:30pm, we were one of few tables. We had to wave our waitress down multiple times for service- to order, for water refill, had to ask twice for a take out container... the slow service seemed to entice a more laid back situation for the workers to talk story rather than serve tables. But she was very nice during interaction! They offer you a stamp card and after 9 ramens, you get the 10th for free. The store front faces waialae avenue, but there is a lot of street parking as well as a meter lot behind the building. I see the reviews and I really want to love Noods but is it wrong if I say it's just okay?To preface, Noods is currently doing a lunch special with $3 off until 2 on weekdays, so the cheaper price is incorporated into the rating as well. I ordered the spicy miso. The broth reminds me of red miso paste vs. the creamier broth you normally get with white miso. It wasn't what I was expecting but it was still umami and tasty. The aji-tama was perfect and the noodles were a good texture, however the cha-siu was tough and fatty. The server was very kind and polite, the restaurant overall was clean. I think the lunch menu price is a fantastic deal and I may be back to try their other menu offerings at that price point! read more

FANTASTIC vegan ramen was devoured here last night. They have an elaborate vegan menu which I really appreciate as it's hard to find veggie options especially in Ramen. We tried their vegan creamy garlic shoyu and their vegan black garlic miso ramen and they were both sooo flavourful and loaded with yummy toppings. A special mention to their kimchi fried dumplings and the excellent dipping sauce it comes with. I wish I could just drink the sauce, it was THAT good! I do not get the hype about this place.. I went when they first opened and thought average and probably won't be back. But years later I constantly see people recommending it. So I go back 2025 and try their classic tonkotsu. They actually have a buttload of different flavors and broths (april had a cool crawfish one). I wanted the classic let's see what kind of base they are working with. Lunch all the ramen was $2 off so that was a nice bonus. Also got the gyoza which was also recommended (pan fried). The tonkotsu ramen was mid. Noodles a bit over cooked, no chew to them. Broth was very light and lacking in thickness and flavor. Gyoza was nice but definitely not the best, could he way more crispy. The egg was actually my favorite - this was perfection! JAMMY and umammi! Hawaii is tough because we do have so many good ramen spots ! This unfortunately does not make my list. read more

And then about a minute later we got our ramen. Warm, squishy noods, and flavorful broth. There is also some red pepper powder on the table to add to your bowls to make as spicy as you want. While the Kimchi potstickers didn't really taste like Kimchi, it was still tasty. Will be back to try all the other broths. We absolutely love noods. My honey and I come here at least once a month, but were encouraged this visit to stray from our normal orders and were not disappointed!! I had their kabocha ramen and he, the tsukemen. Both were incredibly flavorful and generous in size. We also tried chicken karaage for the first time, which was hot and fresh, but not overly spiced or oily. The service here is also ways very good and the food comes out pretty quickly. Keep in mind, it is a small space with few tables that sit more than 4 people. We haven't tried their takeout yet, but always see people coming in to pickup orders, so I'm assuming the noodles sit well and are just as good enjoyed at home! read more

Noods is probably one of my favorite ramen shops to go to! It's a little cozy shop on Waialae Ave. I typically park at the metered parking lot behind the building so there's usually ample parking (if there's none you can always go to the metered parking lot next to that one). The service was solid, no complaints there! I got my usual, the creamy garlic shoyu ramen which was flavorful and creamy. My boyfriend got their special that's running through October-December which was the pork adobo ramen. His thoughts on it was that the flavor profile was interesting (it's a shoyu vinegar base broth) and it was good but he probably would order something else next time. For those of you who like ajitama, their ajitama is really good where you can actually taste the shoyu that they marinated the eggs in. Their corn tempura is also always very delicious, super crunchy! I got a mango peach lemonade which the mango and peach flavors weren't too strong but they allowed me to mix flavors and it was only $5 so what the hell LOL! Overall, I always have a great experience at Noods and will definitely be coming back (please bring back the quail egg appetizer guys )! read more

Don't know why I haven't written a review here but know it's about time I do so especially since I took mom here cause she loves the noodles here which I agree though for some reason it fell short a bit as we ordered two sides Gyoza and Corn Tempura (which was a hot mess as it was all in pieces) we weren't given side dishes and didn't really notice that as we both dug in spilling corn until the end of our meal but they did keep coming back to check on us and didn't bother with informing that by then, the gyoza came with a pre mixed sauce which was too spicy for mom which I didn't like as well we're both vinegar lover and love the experiment of creating our own sauce and wished they gave us that option. I ordered the Truffle Shoyu Ramen which had a nice hint of truffle using white truffle oil and powder the ramen is topped with half aji Tamago, menma, a giant piece of nori and a super thick cut of pork chashu. Really wished that the soup was a tad bit more hot which was something mom mentioned that I noticed later but at a price of $17 it should be on point. Love the artsy vibe on each wall along with the service as they kept checking on us but as a Ramen Bar you need to give some share plates when ordering sides and be mindful to have the gyoza sauce table side as mom ended up eating it plain. I took my daughter to Noods Ramen Bar for dinner and found a new favorite spot. My 10-year-old can eat noodles for every meal and never get tired of it... so needless to say, she's probably had more bowls of ramen in her life than I've had in mine. And she declared Noods' Shoyu ramen one of the best bowls she's ever had. We started out with garlic chili gyoza and ended up fighting over the final piece. My daughter hates anything spicy while I love chili oil. The restaurant was very accommodating to serve the garlic chili oil on the side so that we could both enjoy the gyoza. Then we moved on to our ramen, Shoyu for her and miso pesto for me (based on yelp reviews that did not steer me wrong). The bowls were delicious and everything was served really quickly. Visited a friend nearby and we decided to just try this place out. Little did we know that we'd be blown away by the food, and will make it a point to come back and try again soon! We ordered 3 different ramen dishes, myself getting the tsukumen dipping noodles. The broth was deliciously salty. Now when you ask for spicy, they provide you with Powdered chili spice, which is available on each table. That. Ish. Is. SPICY . Like burn your boots hole spicy. And I love it. Like it had great flavor and burn. My friends also enjoyed their own ramen dishes. We also got a few apps to share. The karaage chicken was okay, but I assume would be better if eaten fresh in house. The takoyaki was pretty good. But the winner - the winner was the ginger scallion gyoza. With we got 2 orders cause we were fighting over those. Like I said, all the food was delish so we're going to eat in house soon. The vibes seemed great, and the front of house were pretty friendly when I picked up my food. I've had two different experiences here but must say I do appreciate a menu that caters to different tastes. Am glad the second visit proved that the noodles can be silky and slurp-a-licious. Cause the first time it was a cold night and chewy noodles didn't hit the spot. The vegan tan tan had all the spicy notes I crave but could've been served at a hotter temperature. On a second visit, I tried the Thai style vegan ramen and it was the perfect blend of spice and creaminess. Funnily, that was the day there was only one waiter for the busy restaurant. My friends on both occasions devoured the kim chi gyozas. Tiny morsels deep fried golden served with a dipping sauce. Yum-o. The space was dark and smallish, and the wooden backless seats a bit slippery for peeps wearing spandex leggings. Remember to use your phone to scan the QR code to being up the menu... one for vegans and the other for the regular menu. Prices are about what you expect these days for ramen. Noods has become one of our favorite restaurants for "comfort food". We normally visit their Kaimuki restaurant, and it has never disappointed. We went last-night around 6pm, and were immediately seated and our polite host offered drinks. The atmosphere is perfect if you are looking for a clean, cozy place to chat and enjoy good food. I ordered Spicy Thai Curry Ramen, and my wife ordered Tsukemen, and we added side orders of pan fried gyoza, corn tempura, and karaage chicken. Every dish was perfectly prepared and the tastes were incredible. We highly recommend Noods if you are craving really good Ramen. I loved this ramen, different from the others but not in a bad way. The service was amazing and the worker took my niece and I in right before they were about to close. Very, very nice worker. We did not know they were about to close BTW (by the way). The ramen came out quickly and we were in and out! Parking came out to maybe a dollar or so. Great place. Will be back soon. read more

If you know me, I LOVE noodles. Anything noodle and soup based is always on my menu on what I would like to eat. Noods is hands down one the best ramen spots in honolulu! I literally just came back from hiking koko head crater and I was RAVENOUS. After seeing that this place had a Happy Cow Sticker on their door (fellow vegetarian/vegans if you know, you know ) I was excited! They have QR codes that you scan for their menus and I was so happy to see they had a separate menu code for vegetarian/vegan options. The flavor profile was just out of this world. I had the creamy vegetarian garlic ramen with spice level 4 and it was just WOAH, mind blowing. I was just surprised how not spicy it was and though my tolerance was out the door. I had my boyfriend taste it and he's very sensitive to spice and even he thought it was mellow! I thought all my hard work building his tolerance was paying off but it turns out they forgot to add the spice they came back and gave it to me to add it in and it was a game changer, definitely more spicy and my bf told me by finishing his water cup. We enjoyed this place so much we came back on our very last day before our flight and had their lunch special combo for an extra $5 and their corn tempura and baos. I say pass on the corn tempura, it's just corn kernels in tempura batter and it didn't have much taste We also had their kimchi potstockers and those were just so good, get those instead!
