Food is consistently good. The waitstaff are always friendly and try to be as accommodating as possible. High ceilings, so poor acoustics. AC is very loud, so conversing can be challenging and loud kids become an amplified irritation. Dining room is very clean, from floor to table. Condiment dispensers are kept clean and tidy. No gunk!! Food is served hot and fresh. (Some places, one just knows when something is not fresh.)
The chicken Katsu curry plate is huge!!!!! Upgraded it with the fried rice! It's massive at least 2 meals in one plate! Probably one of the cleanest ramen restaurants out there, dining room, high chairs, bathroom always clean! Restaurant is always nice and cool to escape from the hot Hawaii heat, Service is always welcoming fast and quick! Our go to is the chicken Katsu curry plate and the ramen sets, you can get a mini ramen with two sides for a decent price! If you want one of the more popular ramen broths there's a little upgrade fee, Overall food is always great, service great, cleanliness awesome, quick service! Lots of parking at Ku'ono marketplace but it can get crowded and tight!
First time going to Daiichi Ramen for lunch. It was a very clean restaurant and the food was delicious! Service was also excellent. My daughter and I both had the special combo with 1 choice. I chose shoyu ramen+fried rice. She had miso ramen+chicken katsu. Both were tasty and filling. The broth for the ramen was light yet flavorful and the katsu was tender and crispy. Would definitely order that again. The only thing that wasn't exceptional was the pork in the ramen. It was slightly chewy, and wasn't as tender as I've had at other places. Another thing I appreciated was the labeled condiments on the table. Sometimes I don't know what's what, so it was nice to have it labeled. Overall, pleasantly surprised by Daiichi Ramen and will be back!
I was craving some soup and went to find this ramen place. I entered a place and I got seated immediately. I have ordered the tonkotsu ramen. The soup was good. There was enough meat. The food was a little salty, but overall really good, and I would love to come again.
Wednesday June 18, 2025. We decided to come here after the movie Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning at Consolidated Theaters Kahala. First time, we coming here. Parking is limited with all the other businesses here. It was 9:00pm. So, had plenty parking spaces available. I ordered the Miso Combo with Fried Rice and Gyoza. I only ate the ramen and 2 gyoza and I was full. I had to take home the 2 gyoza with the fried rice for another meal. Lol. Service was friendly and fast. The food came out in a short while. The miso broth was very hot and tasty. It was good! The gyoza was soft and the bottom was crispy. I tried 1 spoon of the fried rice and it was good too. Ambiance is casual and comfortable. We will be back another time to try the other food choices.

Daiichi Ramen is a family-owned restaurant that has been around since '99. Their menu is pretty extensive, offering soups, salads, ramen, udon, cold noodles, curry rice, fried rice, plates, combos, teishoku sets, and even kid options. I ordered a to-go order of the following: +Special Combo with 2 Sides - you can choose between a ramen or a udon, in which I opted for the ramen; for the soup base, I went with the Spicy Tonkotsu, asking for extra extra extra spicy; for the sides, I chose the Gyoza (which came with 4 pieces) and the Mini Pork Fried Rice +Kimchee Fried Rice - this was served with a side of miso soup The ramen noodles were packaged separated from the ramen broth; the broth itself was creamy and super spicy, which was just as requested! Both the fried rice were of generous sizes, considering the Pork Fried Rice was considered a 'mini'; the Kimchee Fried Rice was pretty ridiculous in terms of the amount, and one could split this into 2-3 meals, easily! The gyoza were pan-fried well, which I was slightly worried about, as previous pictures of this item seemed to not look as crispy. Ordering the items were a breeze. I ran in and grabbed dinner as the hubby ate at Capriotti's. Both eateries are located at the New Ku'ono Marketplace in Kahala. To my surprise there was actually a waitlist and people were lounging in the wait area. I maneuvered around people to order my takeout. I got the Ramen Black Garlic Special Combo No.2 with four piece gyoza and calamari $17.25. Everything was good. The char siu was tender with bits of fat in it. The broth was nicely seasoned even though it could have used more of the black garlic oil. The gyoza was stuffed with pork and veggie filling. The calamari rings were fried to a perfect crisp. They both paired well with their respective sauces that were put in my takeout bag, which I appreciate. They were busy, but the wait wasn't that long. I waited about 10-15 minutes for the food before I was out of there.

A few days ago my son picked up Daiichi Ramen and brought it home. I'd never had their food before but looked at the menu online and got the combo- ramen and gyoza and fried rice. It was a lot of food! And I loved the ramen, ate it all which is why my single photo is of an empty bowl. The gyoza were fine but not fried as crispy as I like them. But the fried rice was really delicious. Will definitely go back! read more
Update 8/10/26 craving for curry rice lately. My wife watches Korean dramas a lot and I seen the Korean shows eating lots of curry rice . So today I ordered their curry rice it was great and very filling. Lots of beef with equal amount of potatoes and carrots . Side order of gyoza and fried Calamari. My wife had their shrimp fried rice also big portion . The taste was ok was lacking something although. Very convenient place for a fast ramen or curry craving. Service was fast and friendly. Terrible service here. Ordered pickup through door dash and they said they didn't receive the order even though I was charged. The manager came out and refused to get the order ready and just told me to order and pay again and call door dash for the refund. read more

First time going to Daiichi Ramen for lunch. It was a very clean restaurant and the food was delicious! Service was also excellent. My daughter and I both had the special combo with 1 choice. I had this place bookmarked after seeing my Yelp buddy - Bruddah Brian M. write an awesome review about this place called - Daiichi Ramen in the Kahala neighborhood. I'll be honest, I'm not really a ramen eater and rarely eat ramen unless its on a cold day in da 808, but what I do like is Japanese curry, and Daiichi Ramen does do curry. Located at the Ku'ono Marketplace, you can find Daiichi Ramen just next door to the Lanikai Juice shop. The restaurant is well lighted, clean, and the restaurant itself has sorta of an "L" shape configuration, not a large sized restaurant, but not small either. We didn't have to make reservations to come here to dine, but I would recommend coming here early if you don't want to fight for parking in the Ku'ono Marketplace parking lot. As I entered the restaurant, we were greeted right away & got a table instantly. Menus and water were dropped after we were seated and after looking over the menu, I decided to get the Mochiko Chicken Curry on Rice. My homie ended up getting the Mapo Tofu on Fried Noodles. What can I say about the grub? I would say that my Mochiko Chicken Curry was pretty good, generous portions, but I wished they offered different levels of spiciness like the other curry places I've been to in the past. As for my homie, he said that his Mapo Tofu on Fried Noodles was good too. Nothing like local style comfort food, and the prices here were pretty reasonable and on point. I am glad I found this ramen spot located in the Kuono marketplace which I didn't realize was there. A great area across from Kahala mall which seemed to have a lot of good food places and other services. This isn't a fancy place but great for groups and people looking for fast service, good food and decent prices. I was surprised at how fast our food came out after ordering and the portion size was huge. Compared to other restaurants, I would say it was a couple dollars under average. A couple of the plates that we ordered included: Tonkatsu ramen, fried rice and chicken katsu curry. read more
Located next to Kahala MKT. This place provides fast, delicious, and consistent food. Every time I have come here has been the same which is why I keep coming back. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I also love that they have meals you can order that come with choice of noodles, rice, and gyoza. I ordered and within 5 minutes our food came out! Nothing to complain about and service is friendly. If you check in on Yelp you get a 15% off code for your bill. Came here for a quick dinner before a movie across the street. Me & my daughter wanted ramen, got that and a lot more! We got the side order of kimchi and a side of potato croquette. The kimchi was fresh, tangy and good. The croquettes had a good taste, crunchy on the outside and soft potato on the inside. For the croquette they use "local" katsu sauce (like the old Grace's Drive In) that's slightly more ketchupy and red, vice the Japanese katsu sauce that's more brown and has no ketchup. I prefer the latter, but I can see how they cater to local crowds with the local sauce. It's on the side so you can choose to dip or not. I got the spicy beef ramen with an extra egg for a small charge. I thought the egg would be semi-soft-boiled but it was hard-boiled. Slightly disappointed but undaunted, I finished almost all of it. It wasn't too spicy, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish my ramen especially since I'm a spice-wimp. We both enjoyed everything, and they are very efficient. They got us out of there in time for our movie, the two servers hustle around the place and are efficient. I like the large posters that entice you to try different things with large photos. Today my hubby, brother in law and I were looking for something to keep our bellies warm in a flash flood rainy day. We found parking right away close to the store front. We were promptly and warmly greeted and seated. The restaurant was a little empty but it was about 2 pm. I guess our timing was good to miss the lunch rush. We ordered 2 special combo 1 choice - Shio ramen with gyoza and Miso udon with chicken katsu. Hubby ordered the regular Tonkotsu ramen. We were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the kitchen turned our out orders. The test was to see if it would taste like it was sitting for a while or not prepared well. I'm a small eater so my mini udon was perfect for me, slightly salty for my taste but in all fairness, I don't add too much seasoning to my food regularly. There was a lot of wakame in my bowl. I loved it! My brother in law said his shio ramen was just enough. Hubby said the tonkotsu ramen was good too. We shared the sides. We all agreed that it was tasty! The gyoza was hot and plump. The chicken katsu was crispy and not greasy at all. Overall, it was a 4.5 star experience for me. The server checked on us enough but not too much to intrude on our lunch. Because the restaurant was quiet, the air conditioning temperature was a bit chilly for us. If you get cold easily, bring a sweater or jacket. Yes I freeze on rainy days, always. read more
Notice changed menus but their Black Garlic Ramen can't go wrong when Black Garlic first came out in Japan they were very expensive l still have bottle bought in Japan in Aomori where 80% of garlic are made but back to Daiichi Ramen Miso Combo comes with both fried rice and gyoza is a bargain comes with egg noodles and combo miso but you can't go wrong trying Black Garlic which is also very healthy and nutritious for you Here's added pictures read more
Came here since I was craving ramen and it was the closest 4-star ramen restaurant near my house, but I should've just drove 5 more miles to get some better ramen in Kapahulu. This place is located in the same shopping center as Kahala Mkt and Wholesale Unlimited, next to Dry Bar. I arrived for an early lunch and there was literally just one other customer in there. That should've been my que to leave. I got the Special Combo for $11.95. I chose the mini black garlic ramen (it's $1.50 extra) with 4 pc gyoza. I'm glad I got the mini because it wasn't that good. The noods were like Sun Noodles. The black garlic wasn't strong at all, and the soup was rather bland. The gyoza didn't arrive until 5 min after I finished my ramen, and they weren't worth waiting for. Each one of them fell apart when I picked them up. This is a place to come if you're nursing a hangover and need some noods to cure it. On a good note, the restaurant itself is clean and spacious with comfortable chairs. There's a big menu with many types of broth from shoyu to miso to tonkotsu and if you like carbs with your carbs you can do combos to get both rice and ramen. My daughter and I decided to eat dinner at this location. This location is a little bigger than the location in Pearl City. The waitress was really nice. When I ordered a diet coke, she just gave me a can but no cup of ice which I had to ask for. The location in Pearl City automatically gives it to you. The food tastes pretty much the same as the location in PC.. I believe the restroom was behind the curtain on the side. Food came out pretty quickly. I definitely love eating at Daichi Ramen anywhere because the food is delicious. Parking was available the time we got here which was around 5:30 pm. Parking sure does fill up fast. I guess it's better to come here on a weekday rather than on a weekend. It gets pretty busy but overall my daughter and I had a great experience here. She loved her milk tea. They offer it here but I don't think the location in PC offers this. Highly recommend. read more
Pleased to see another curry place in the neighborhood :) We went on a Saturday afternoon and ordered our food to go. Pleasantly surprised with how quick our food was ready! Other than the bag, most containers appeared eco friendly. The minute chicken rice plate with curry was good. Quite flavorful and well cooked. Really big chunks of chicken can be tricky to cook through without drying out. We are grateful they packed the curry on the side so nothing got soggy. The tan tan ramen was also packaged in two containers. Noodles and toppings were spot on. The broth had a tiny kick to it but otherwise it was tasty. The shrimp katsu was interesting...lots of batter so it was really crunchy. We didn't see a tail to identify it as shrimp and it seemed really really skinny?? Thank you for the Check In promotional. This shop located in Kahala is reasonably priced with some decent ramen. You get seated fairly quickly upon arrival and after ordering you meal comes within 10 minutes after. There are many options to choose from here on the menu and so far they all look appetizing. The ramen noodles are cooked perfectly and the broths are piping hot and packed with flavor. This isn't those fancy handcrafted ramen shop. But don't let that steer you away; it's still delicious and brings comfort to your soul. If you're looking for a quick serve, cheap ramen that packs a lot of flavor, this place is worth checking out. read more

Was craving noodles so decided to check this place out. I reserved a place on line via yelp which worked out pretty good. I checked in upon arrival. We had reservations for 5:15. Check in on yelp to receive 15% off your bill. The lady checking us in only looked at hubby's vaccination card/ID and never looked at mine lol. I ordered the two choice combo of Udon (shoyu) , fried calamari, and pork fried rice. I like a simple light broth so the shoyu worked for me. Hubby had the black garlic ramen, ckn katsu, and curry (no meat). It was a lot of food for only $14.25 a set, add $1.50 for the special soup like black garlic. We had to take home the leftovers. Overall, my meal was flavorful. Hubby said the black garlic ramen was "meh". I'd probably go there again if in the area, but not to make a special trip. read more

Take out. When we got there, were told not ready yet. Ordered: 3 miso ramen combos Fried rice & gyoza Shrimp katsu & takoyaki Fish katsu & takoyaki Actually took 20-30 mins Went straight home. Everything was cold. Fried foods overcooked. Spoke to owner. Told him maybe it the paper bowls for the ramen and soup, not keeping it hot. Everything was packed separately, which was good. Located across kahala mall. In new shopping mall, near Foodland. Lots of free parking. read more
If you're ever in Pearl city and need a really quick ramen fix, this is the place to go! This is my go to. Honestly quick and fast service. The food just flys out as soon as you place your order. Many menu options and I absolutely love the combos you can get. And I feel the prices are reasonable! If you haven't tried it, it is a must read more
