First time dining here, and I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the restroom and the entire restaurant. The dining room is clean, modern, and beautifully decorated, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The spring rolls were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. The pho was rich and flavorful, loaded with a generous assortment of meats and plenty of fresh vegetables. The shaking beef was tender and flavorful, served with a delicious Maggi-based dipping sauce. I was especially impressed with the presentation of every dish. You can tell there's a lot of attention to detail in both the food and the overall dining experience. Overall, one of the best authentic Vietnamese restaurants on the island. Worth Trying the Second Location Being from Vietnam and having eaten Vietnamese food my entire life, I can be pretty particular when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine. The original Pho Que Huong draws lines, so we decided to give Pho Que Huong 2 a try. They did not disappoint. Decided to try and give this place another try since our favorite Vietnamese restaurant is currently closed and relocating. Came on a Monday, around 10. Not busy, maybe 6 tables of people. Seated right away, food came out fast. Then that was it. Not once did anyone come by to ask if we needed anything. AND AGAIN, no refill of water. At this point, just leave a pitcher at each table if you want to neglect your patrons. There were at least 3-4 people working the floor but literally walking around not paying attention to any of the customers. I watched one table wait 10 minutes to pay their check AFTER the man asked for the check. Watched the same waitress just stand at the front register play with napkins like she forgot they even asked. I could understand if it was busy but 3-4 people serving 6 tables should be a piece of cake. Service here really is sad. As for the food: came out hot and fresh. Ordered the combination pho. Tons of fresh veggies on the side and lots of meat. My only complaints are that for some reason my noodles were kind of hard and some of the cuts of meat were hard, which is so odd. Also one of the waitresses was refilling the chili oil containers but never put them back on the tables. Just left all of them open on one table that no one was at. It was there the entire service. Pho Que Huong 2 is a second location to a classic Viet spot. This location is on Kapiolani and offers limited lot parking for customers. Restrooms available for paying customers. The service is always friendly and fast. In my most recent visit, a cheerful gentleman made my experience extra memorable (wish I got his name). This location used to be another pho spot, but the ambiance is much nicer now! The restaurant is clean and welcoming. Plenty of seating. The food is undeniably good. Best pho on the island, in my opinion! My boyfriend loves the spring rolls. I am a sucker for the fresh sugarcane justice, viet coffee offerings and beef pho. My favorite pho place in Chinatown now has a location in the Ala Moana area. Within walking distance of my best friend's place? Yes please! There's a small parking lot, which is great because the Chinatown spot is street metered parking only. You can get all of the classics like a pho, bahn mi, spring rolls and summer rolls - which I love from here! But you can also get harder to find (in Hawai'i) Vietnamese dishes like bahn xeo, de xao lan and one of my favorite vietnamese soups: bun rieu. I love all the herbs and vegetables that really add a freshness to all their dishes and don't miss out on the chili oil- it's my absolute fav. You can really taste the love that this family-owned biz puts into all of the food. read more

Had a great experience at this new branch of Pho Que Huong where everything is shiny and new. It's has a great look and feel with bright lighting, neon signs and attractive Vietnamese decor, a nice change from the former restaurant. Except for the goat soup which increased quite a bit , prices were a dollar or so more from the Chinatown restaurant but we thought it was worth it for the location. Everything we had was good- pho, bahn mi, and especially the giant Banh Xeo (Vietnamese crepe) with substantial pieces of shrimp, pork belly, and Iots of fresh veggies. Messy to eat but a fun dish to share! Food and Service were both great! Servers are friendly, efficient and patient. Dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii... I was here at this Hot New Business last week and thought that my friends would like it, too. I called and made a reservation for 6 people... just in case. (There's a set tip price of 18 percent for groups of 6 or more.) We found free street parking because it was after 6:30pm and some of us parked in the restaurant's parking spaces right in front. Service by the owner, Kathy Pham, was excellent! She's so helpful, cheerful, and friendly! I ordered the vermicelli with Spring Rolls and Grilled pork. It was yummy! I took my leftovers home because the portion was generous! My friends enjoyed their meals, too: tofu veggie pho, combination broken rice plate, fish soup, and regular pho. I attended a Yelp event here and I LOVED the food so I came back today as a patron to have my dad try as well. Food was excellent as usual and my dad loved his experience as well. Service was very attentive and nice. Waters were always filled and they made sure to check on us periodically despite being busy in the morning! I really enjoy their Pho. Such a solid choice when you come here. The broth is very smooth and clean-tasting without feeling heavy. The noodles and meat are cooked perfectly and go perfect with the vegetables that they serve. I also love the chili oil. Chili oil goes perfect with the Pho. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was also great - super strong but it was a great way to end our meal for lunch. Will definitely be bringing my friends here and I'm so happy they are now in an accessible area near town for dine-in with lots of open seating! The interior is also great! Unfortunately Pho Que Huong 2 is nothing like their original Chinatown location. Service, food, and ambiance were all terrible. Even worse, everything on their menu is $1-$5 more expensive than their Chinatown menu. Food: - Bun Bo Hue: quintessential to bun bo hue is aromatic chili and lemongrass and beef flavor. There was none. Broth tastes like watered down pho broth with a sprinkle of bun bo hue powder. Portion was small. - Banh Mi Dac Biet: just ok. Bread was a little stale, pickles weren't all that pickled. And there wasn't much meat or pate. Also pretty dry. - Lamb Chops: best dish of the 3. Nice grill and flavor on the lamb, wish it came with broken rice though. Service: I went for Sunday lunch during their soft opening and waited about 45 minutes. It took another 15 minutes for someone to give us a menu and some water. We tried to order the Stir Fried Goat, lamb chops, and Egg Coffee since those items aren't at their Chinatown Menu. Lamb chops came first and we cleared it in about 20 minutes. The stir fried goat didn't come yet. A waiter asked what we were waiting for and so we told him we were still missing the stir fried goat and egg coffee. Only then did he inform us that they ran out. Why did no one tell us either when we ordered or shortly thereafter? So we then ordered the bun Bo hue and banh mi since we were still hungry. Also, trying to waive down a waiter during our meal was very difficult. Ambiance: it was incredibly loud in there, we basically had to shout to talk to other people. The hubby and I came for date night tonight. The Vietnamese food here is exceptional. It's their second location and also their grand opening week. From July 24th-30th, you'll receive 20% off your entire bill. On July 31st, the first 100 customers will receive a $5 gift card. We ordered the chicken wings $18, large chicken pho $20, oxtail pho $27, calamansi sugar cane juice $7 and Vietnamese iced coffee $7. The chicken wings are to die for. The eight piece flats were slightly breaded, crispy and drenched in caramelized fish sauce. This was so good. My oxtail pho was also delicious. I love the flavor of their broth. It's clean, but also savory. It came with one huge piece of oxtail and two medium pieces, which was a lot of meat. They also have a variety of condiments on the table. Don't pass up their chili oil. I like to mix it with the hoisin sauce. They also have fish sauce that I like to put in my pho. My Vietnamese iced coffee was good. I could taste the condensed milk. However, my husband's sugarcane juice was better. They have a sugarcane press machine in the restaurant. They were freshly pressing the sugarcane. Freshly pressed sugarcane juice is wonderful. There's nothing like it. I'm getting the sugarcane juice the next time. Service was on point and the food arrived swiftly. It was full house by the time we left and people were quoted a 15-20 minute wait. read more

Came here for our last dinner in Hawaii before heading home. We ate A LOT during this trip, but there's something about a hot bowl of noodle soup that just hits, especially after being out and about all day. We heard this was a newer location, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a few different things, including the BBH, combo, a customized bowl, and I got the hot stone pho. TBH, the hot stone pho is basically a glorified combo pho with the addition of a raw egg and the stone pot. I probably could've been good without the egg, but I really liked the stone pot because it kept my soup piping hot throughout the meal. That was actually a plus because everyone else at the table felt like their soups were more warm than hot, and they cooled down pretty quickly once we added all the herbs and fixings. The soup itself was a little bland for our taste compared to what we're used to getting in San Jose, but it was still good and definitely hit the spot. Since this is a newer location, the restaurant was spanking clean and everything felt fresh and new. You could also tell the ingredients were fresh. We got there around 7 PM and there was no line at all -- we walked right in. Overall, I'd still recommend giving it a try! The soup being a little bland could honestly just be our taste buds, so I'd say come try it for yourself and see what you think. read more

Congrats to Pho Que Hong for their second location! They took over Pho one's spot on the first floor of a residential building near Ala Moana. There is parking but its quite limited but there is a few. The restaurant itself is bright and clean and quite large. They also had an opening promo of 20% off. It looks like the prices are higher than the chinatown location, but it might be easier for most people to come to this one instead. i grew up eating vietnamese food so i can be a little picky. i normally order things other than pho, so i ordered the bun rieu, bun bo hue and cafe su da this visit to go. the order took about 20 minutes which is fine i wasn't in a rush. if you do a take out order you'll have to go to the far back to make the order since the register is there. while waiting i noticed that people kept opening the door wrong so it slammed often. I wouldnt be surprised if it breaks one day. It pushes in to go inside the restaurant, and then you have to pull the door when you leave. Overall i thought that it was average. The crab noodle soup could have used a little more crabby taste to it but it's not bad. The bun bo hue was also pretty average and came with some chili oil. I kinda put a lot in there so my first bowl was pretty spicy. I also did not receive any utensils or a straw with my take out order but its ok...luckily i was not going to work and was going home and i found a straw at home too for my drink - i was actually saving the drink for work the next day and asked for no ice. read more

The camera definitely did not eat first. As always Pho Que Huong never disappoints. My family and I have always been big fans of Pho Que Huong and to hear that they were opening another location near us was so exciting! As someone who was born in Vietnam, the food here is the closest thing to home. We ordered the Pho, Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup), Trang (sampler plate), Bun Rieu (crab noodle soup), and Com Suon (pork chop). There is so much depth in their flavors and I couldn't get enough of it! I even ordered takeout for later :p Their drinks are so yummy too! Waited a while with baby in stroller for the goods. Secured the sandwich. Walked to neighboring condo, put on my eating clothes and decided to dig in. Wait. What? No jalapeños. Like, what the FUDGE? Changed out of my eating clothes, threw the baby back in the stroller, down the elevator to get said jalapeños. Yes. Annoyed. I return and ask the same girl/ order taker for jalapeños. Told her it wasn't in my sandwich as the menu stated. She goes in the back and comes out with a bag of sliced jalapeños and slings it at me. No apology. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. It took a long time for someone to take our order, and we waited even longer for the food. After a long wait, we were finally told that one of the dishes we ordered was unavailable, which was frustrating. To make it worse, the table next to us arrived after we did, finished their meal, and even paid before our food was served. The pho was actually quite good, the broth was flavorful and comforting. However, the stir-fried ong choy was disappointing. It was cooked so dark that even the sauce was nearly black, the stems were very thick and tough, and the overall dish lacked freshness. There seems to be potential here because the pho was enjoyable, but the long wait and food quality made the overall experience disappointing. The guys up front forgot to ask about our takeout and kept on saying 5 more minutes. I live in Ala Moana Towers and will never eat at this shithole no matter how hungry I am.
