Omg these sandwiches!!! Wowsers. Fresh and delicious!! Hidden little spot. Worth looking for.
Got lunch at this hotel juice bar and deli. It certainly is more affordable than Duke's and other places in the Outrigger. Pai's is located over by the pool. Basically it's just a window to order at. There's a lot of interesting smoothies and sandwiches. Came in to look for it and couldn't find it at first. It's located before getting to the pool. There's not really any dining area around it as it's just a window. Actually affordable. It's about $6 for a smoothie. Also these are made with pure fruit. I got the Mango Pineapple. As for the food there's plenty that's affordable. It's about $5 for the Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich. Basic, but there's a choice of creamy or crunchy. This proves there's no need for good food to be expensive. Hard to find at first but worth it because it's cheap. It's located in the Outrigger on Kalakaua. There's options for both meat eaters and vegetarians.
The food is great - if you want something quick and healthful at a reasonable price, this is a good place to know. The mom-and-pop running it are oddly not smooth at customer service: we experienced a slight issue and watched someone else having a big one. Also, we had a (small) mystery charge added to our bill when we put it on our room. There really isn't anywhere good to eat your meal - you take it and go somewhere else - or to wait while they make it (not terribly long, but not fast, either) - you just sort of stand around in the stream of people going to and from the pool. Anyhow, this is like a sandwich you'd have gotten in Berkley in the Seventies, made fresh for you when you order. A good place to know about.
Best sandwich I've had in a loooong time. Just make sure you're willing to wait for it. I think it took about 30 minutes? As long as you plan for it (plenty to walk around and see nearby) or order before you're starving, you'll be very happy. This place is a gem that I hope will be able to reopen in a bigger location with additional help & support.
If you're not eating here, you're seriously missing out! I don't know about you but when I've spent hours in the sun and swimming in the ocean - I'm craving something fresh and delicious. Everyone we come to Hawaii this is our lunch spot. It's located in the Outrigger on the way to the pool. I highly recommend getting yourself a smoothie! They are the best smoothies I've ever had. My go to favorite is the banana, peanut butter protein. I just discovered a new favorite as well- it's a. Green smoothie with vegetables and fruit. So so so good! The prices here are very affordable and the portions are large! We've always split and it's still too much to finish.
I found this restaurant well attending a conference in Waikiki. I was on the hunt for something healthy in Waikiki that didn't break the bank and this spot was perfect. Conveniently located in the outrigger Waikiki, this spot works out of a small space where you can grab and go because why wouldn't you wanna enjoy the beautiful views of Waikiki Beach? I ordered the egg salad and chicken salad sandwich. I thought I might get half-and-half, but it actually came together on the bread. I really liked the taste of the chicken salad egg salad with all the vegetables. And the entire sandwich is only $13 which is a great price considering Waikiki prices. The service was great and they were really respectful and nice. I would definitely go back to this place and try some more of their sandwiches. They're locally made and fresh, so definitely hit them up if you're in the area.
Got the turkey and avocado with two kinds of cheese and the Happy Green smoothie. The wait to order was very short; the wait for the food was long. It's a popular place. Only one person making the food while the other took orders and payment. Highly recommend this gem.
Fresh, Delicious, and Always Made with Aloha! Pai's Deli is hands down one of our favorite spots in Waikiki -- we visit every single day whenever we're staying at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort! The food is always fresh, high-quality, and absolutely delicious. You honestly can't go wrong with anything you order -- everything on the menu is amazing! What truly makes Pai's Deli so special, though, is the incredible team. Ivy, Shelly, Andrew, Novia, Sandra, and Kiki are some of the most kind, hardworking, and passionate people you'll ever meet. They put their hearts into everything they do, and it shows in both the food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're grabbing a sandwich, smoothie, or salad, you can always count on Pai's Deli for something healthy, flavorful, and made with love. It's a must-visit for anyone staying nearby -- and once you've been, you'll definitely find yourself coming back again and again!
Make it 26 years! My husband LOVES the turkey sandwich. My daughter LOVES the tuna sandwich. We love the Hawaiian papaya and the smoothies! Ivy is the best and remembers me every time I visit.
Turkey avo was my choice and it hot the spot! Decent size and quick to get my order although the lines can get longer depending on the time. Total cost was $14 and I could have split but was on the hungry side. Pineapple on the side was delicious!
It was a 30 minute wait for the food but it tasted fresh! I liked the topping options. I got a turkey sandwich with provolone. There was only one table nearby so it's a grab-and-go situation.
If you're looking for a good place to eat while I'm downtown Waikiki. This place has great sandwiches and very affordable.
Best Of The Best!! We stayed at the outrigger hotel in September and ate a Pai's Deli twice. 2 Words "Fabulous & Fresh" :D The husband & wife team here are best of the best they give you that ohana feel when you order here, they use the utmost fresh ingredients, you can see the love & care they put into their service and food. Adorable Couple Fabulous Sandwiches!! We had the sandwiches the "Pais" way it was delicious you can have a choice of breat white, wheat or croissant regular or toasted. I tried the white-regular & croissant-toasted LOVED THEM!! YUM YUMM! Mahalo Pai's Deli We Love You Aloha We Will See You Again :D
As mentioned by other reviewers, if you're looking for an inexpensive, decent sandwich on Waikiki beach, look no further. Conveniently located near Duke's, there's one outdoor table nearby, but really, just pick up a sandwich and take it to the beach! Staff was very friendly. Plenty of options for sandwiches and salads (and maybe more options, just what I noticed). I got the tuna sandwich and added a slice of pepper jack. I said no mayo or mustard, though I'd probably recommend mayo. There are so many veggies that it needs a little sauce. The veggies make you feel like you're eating something super healthy! There wasn't a ton of tuna in the sandwich, but half was filling enough for me. I'll save the rest for tomorrow. read more
I'm going to start by saying you won't find a sandwich shop in Waikiki like Pai's Deli. Their sandwiches are packed with fresh ingredients and tons of flavor. Skipping this place would be a crime. And prices are very reasonable for what you get. It's a hidden gem, tucked inside the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort just to the right of Duke's. I've been here many times and have ordered both smoothies and sandwiches. Let me tell you, the bread is incredibly soft, the greens are crisp and fresh, and the protein is ALWAYS tasty. The team works hard to craft your sandwich every time, and I always get a warm "thank you" when I pick mine up (I swear I got into a thank-you battle once, and of course, they won). I highly recommend the tuna sandwich. It's seasoned perfectly and generously filled with tuna. The greens are always piled high. Shredded carrots, spinach leaves, and more sprouts than you'd think possible. It's healthy and DELICIOUS. I usually add avocado, and the sandwich with avocado comes out to $13.75, which is a great deal for Waikiki. Oh! and you get a little skewer of two pineapple slices! It's cute, refreshing, and perfectly ripe every time. The last smoothie I ordered was the Avocado Green Island. It's made with mango, avocado, spinach, banana, greek yogurt, and coconut milk. It's creamy, slightly tangy, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. I've also tried their chicken salad sandwich (money!) and my favorite, the Captain Salad. I recommend getting it with Caesar dressing. The brand of ranch they use isn't really my thing. They also have a homemade balsamic vinagarette that sounds amazing. The salad is huge, topped with turkey and generous crumbles of bacon. I'm telling you, they're serving hit after hit after hit at this spot. Go and enjoy ASAP! read more

Now for the bright spot in our stay, in our search for food at the outrigger we ended up finding Pai's deli. This looks to be a family run deli and they take pride in their product. I ordered the egg salad sandwich which she made fresh right there. On a croissant, the topping were also market fresh and this was the best food this hotel has to offer in my opinion. Please patronize this establishment, it is absolutely delicious. read more
This place is great for clean eating while on vacation. I came here multiple days in a row for lunch and got the green smoothie and the turkey avocado or chicken salad sandwich. All of the above were fresh and satisfying with real attention to detail. The staff were friendly and the location is super convenient to the hotels on Waikiki beach. You just have to know about this place because it's tucked inside a hotel lobby of sorts, so you won't pass it on the street. Highly recommend for quick to-go lunch. read more
$8 for a Chicken Salad Sandwich isn't bad! Pai's Deli is a hidden gem in Waikiki. It was so hidden I don't even know what building it was located in. All I know is that I walked down a long hallway with the word Duke's at the end, and you wouldn't know it existed unless you turned right at the Duke's sign on the wall til you see Pai's Deli tucked away in a tiny wall. Is it the best sandwich I've ever had? Definitely not, but for $8 and for being in Waikiki where everything is overpriced, you bet this amazing! The bread was a bit like your knock off grocery brand Orowheat bread. And the chicken could have used a bit more salt. However, it it was packed full of fresh veggies and somehow everything worked really well! Did I mention that it was only $8?! If you're looking to grab a quick bite to eat while not spending a ton of money, this is a great spot! read more
This was a great find kinda of hiding in the Royal Hawaiian Center in the general area of Dukes. We wanted something other than resort/hotel food, this was most definitely it. It is a very small deli that serves it up right. You will need to walk to it, it is off the beach and off of the main rode of Waikiki. The produce is extremely fresh, it is a large sandwich that could easily be shared. It was very reasonably priced, even with the Very Berry Berry smoothie it was just $30.00 for everything we ordered. It is primarily for take out orders, there is a single table with 5 seats located near it but really, just grab and go back to the beach, hotel or wherever. I highly recommend getting out and trying this place. read more

Pai's is still our go to for sandwiches in Waikiki after all these years of discovering the shop back in 2016. It's still in the same location near Dukes inside the outrigger next to the laundry area. They take credit now for purchases over $5 and they're still serving deliciously crafted sandwiches that are beautifully presented. My favorite is the chicken salad on a croissant with mustard added but the sprouts removed. Sandwiches always come with a couple of pieces of fresh pineapple on the side to end the meal with something g sweet. My hubby always get the turkey avocado on wheat with cheese and mustard added. Make sure to get a smoothie which are made with fresh fruit. My go to is the pineapple, mango and papaya but the hubby always get a pineapple mango, no papaya. And if you're like me, you'll be a repeat visitor each time you visit Waikiki and go several times during your stay while laying out on the beach. read more
This IMO is a hidden gem as it's tucked away by dukes. If you're needing a light lunch to eat on the beach this is it!!!! So many choices and shaving chicken salad. I had mine on a croissant and it was delicious. Perfect light lunch on a day you're at the beach where you don't want to get too full. Such nice withers as well. Definitely a must try!!! *we wanted light sandwiches to bring back to the beach again and on a Saturday they ONLY serve smoothies. It was very odd to me as you'd think that'd be their busiest day during spring break but okay. Still getting 5 stars but very disappointed in that! read more

Love Pai's Deli, the Tuna and/or Chicken Salad with Avocado on a Croissant (with everything) is my daily driver whenever we're in Waikiki.. Super healthy, clean snd tasty sandwiches & salads, a hidden gem, tucked away in the back corner on the right side of Dukes.. If you're looking for a quick bite or something to grub on at the beach that won't weigh you down, Pai's is the spot, and always a great option that you will not regret! read more
