    Chicken Wrap with bbq sauce
    Ayse T.

The chicken Mac wrap was absolutely amazing! Looking at it was mouthwatering and it tasted even better once I took the first bite. It had a lot of great flavor with the chicken and mac & cheese, and I would definitely recommend adding barbecue sauce. It had a good sweet flavor to it that helped. It is been one of my favorite meals on this trip. Great ambience around with the other food trucks. It is very heavy, so I shared it with my boyfriend and it was the perfect amount. With the other trucks around, you can always get this with something a little lighter. But I would definitely recommend trying this. You won't regret it.

Service was fast and the food was high quality. It's located in a little park with other food trucks. If you're looking for something very American, this is the place to go. Great steak, great chicken, great bbq, and great Mac and cheese! The portions are good as well. I recommend this truck for a comfort meal!

It took a bit of time- but the wait was worth it! Best Mac and cheese ever -not even kidding.

We ordered a chicken wrap with buffalo sauce which came with Mac in it. We were expecting a cheesy Mac and cheese, but instead it tasted like plain noodles with no flavor. The chicken was the only saving grace, but the sauce was on one side of the wrap. Fries were crispy, but lacked seasoning. Disappointing considering their name.

$20.00 plate of dried out Mac with "cheese" sauce

Visited Thursday 8/1 with my family, there were 5 of us including 2 who are vegetarian. We got items from other trucks and were pleased. We also ordered a plain large Mac n cheese from Aloha Mac Shack. It took about 20 minutes to get our order. Once we opened it we were surprised, it was a small amount of dried out macaroni with a small amount of "cheese" sauce on it. I took it back to the truck to ask if this was their $20.00 plate, they confirmed it was. They were nice enough to take it back to "fix" it. After 5 minutes it was returned the same way just more. I didn't want to post this publicly but no one responded to my messages on IG. Please see the picture.

Just when you think it's imPASTAble they certainly did it!! Lucky to find this golden yummy at the What the truck Kaka'ako Makai held every second Fridays at the former Fisherman's Wharf location which is a stunning place. Aloha Mac Shack has transformed our classic Mac and Cheese into a bougie treat you'd been dreaming of into reality with menu items from their grab and go (Mac Shack Burger, Mac Shack Chicken Wrap and Mac Shack Dog) to plate lunch (Steak, Chicken or Kalua Pig) which of course include Mac and cheese as a side. Strolling around taking in the super chill vibe while enjoying the musical entertainment of the night I decided on a much more portable item like the Mac Shack Dog simply put hot dog all surrounded by golden Mac and cheese and fried to the most incredible crispiest masterpiece! Mind you it is all made to order of course so it does take some time which was about a ten minute wait but is it worth it...absolutely!! Being that I was warned to give it a moment to cool which I took full advantage of that time to finding a spot to chill, the outer coating is just super crispy and amazingly held all that yumminess in perfectly even as I bit into it each and every time and it gets even better dipping it all in that velvety cheese sauce that I couldn't get enough of lol! Follow them on Instagram @alohamacshack so you can find that gold at the end of the rainbow. Thank you!

Review Update!! I got to try Aloha Mac Shack again at the What The Truck event at Waikele. And I saw they got new items on the menu! You can now get mac and cheese on its own, fried mac and cheese bites and the mac shack dog. I'm glad we got to try some!! All so delicious. Mac and cheese bites -- it's deep fried mac and cheese. It's self explanatory but taste so amazing! 10/10!! And it also came with a side of cheese sauce!!! AMAZING!! Mac Shack dog -- it's similar to the korean hotdogs. But it's got mac and cheese and hotdog. I don't eat pork, so I had to ask them what kind of hotdog they use and they use kosher ones, so it's BEEF!! YAY! I'm really glad I got to try more of their items! Definitely will get some food from them again! Not only you get to have delicious food but also excellent customer service!! Give this place a try next time! Totally worth it!

Parking is super easy with the complimentary structure, and the café is located on the bottom floor alongside other vendors. One thing I immediately appreciated was how well air-conditioned the entire market is--it's nice and cool, which makes sitting and eating there really comfortable. The cashier recommended the turkey pesto croissant, but suggested swapping it onto ciabatta since it's one of her favorites--and I'm so glad I trusted her. It was phenomenal. The flavors were balanced, the bread held everything together perfectly, and it felt like a step above your typical sandwich. I also had what looked like a simple salad, but the vinaigrette and candied pistachios really elevated it and made it feel more thoughtful than expected. The staff across the board were friendly and welcoming, and there's plenty of seating--whether inside the café or out in the open market area. Honestly, the value surprised me the most. I paid under $13 for everything, which is hard to beat for the quality. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

Seating is limited so it may be difficult to find seating especially during high traffic meal times. May have better luck finding seating outside. I've been here multiple times for lunch and had multiple different items. The acai bowl are good. I like getting the Nalu salad which is always a decent serving and tastes fresh. The sandwiches are also pretty tasty. My main issue is the service. I'm not sure if part of their training is to ignore the customer as much as possible because that has been my experience on multiple occasions. The most recent visit, I had ordered online and was going to pick up m food for takeout. There were three workers at the front just talking. I walked to the counter and was ignored. I could see where the orders are placed and didn't see anything there so figured my order wasn't ready yet. I stood on the side for at least 5 minutes without any greeting or acknowledgement. Not a single person made eye contact with me. When I saw an order placed on the back counter one of them grabbed it and placed it on the takeout counter without calling out the name and went back to chatting. I had to actively try to get their attention at which point I was looked at like I was bothering them. Asked if my order was ready and was handed it without any further interaction. I don't expect happy go lucky people and conversation but at least basic customer service.

Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. If I give this place a second chance, I'll definitely need to say 'lite lettuce'--or maybe just 'no lettuce, please'--unless I want another salad disguised as a sandwich!

Their salads were just that good and it never felt like you were eating "healthy" food. We ordered the Ono Island Ahi and the Mandarin Ginger, and flavor wise the salads themselves still hold up. Portions felt fair and the prices were reasonable in my opinion. I also appreciated that it came with two pieces of pita bread. That said, the service really took away from the experience. When we ordered, the employee took our order but did not really start making the salad. His manager had to come out, at which point he jumped a bit and then started assembling the salad. He did not ask if we wanted it tossed, which they used to do, and instead just layered everything together. The biggest disappointment came when I got home and realized my Ono Island Ahi salad had no dressing at all, not on the side and not inside. That was frustrating and honestly a letdown, especially since the dressing is a big part of what makes these salads so good. The space itself looks clean and it is very convenient being inside Kahala Mall, with plenty of parking which is always a plus. Overall, the food concept is great and the salads are still tasty, but the service is lacking and needs improvement for me to fully enjoy coming back regularly.
