Mostly we go as a takeout spot, although there was a bench outside. Their sandwich menu has variety but is not overwhelming. The people working have also been quite nice! We decided to get the No Comply toasted. While it is a pricier sandwich, as it was about $14, the sandwich came packed with chicken, lettuce, and more. It served as a meal and a half! I love that Sprout has vegetable-forward options even in their meat-based sandwiches. The pesto chicken salad was loaded with beautiful green goodies which made this treat as aesthetically pleasing as it was delectable. They're also slapping down some of the best local Hawaiian ingredients into these here sanguines. The pesto itself was mac-nut based, which was intriguing. I'll be honest, I couldn't taste the difference between that and a pine nut pesto, but it was friggin delish pesto either way. The only downside I can think of is that the bread here lands somewhere between "ok" and "good". I've never had a bread quite like it, but it reminds me of a mix between an artisanal white bread, and a painini bread that you would find in Italy. It got the job done, but I feel like it could be upgraded. Sprout is worth a visit before or after your beach trip. In my opinion, a really great sandwich excels because you can taste the quality, freshness, and flavor of its individual ingredients. In my sandwich, the turkey was flavorless and it felt like they used a strong, heavy sauce to give it flavor, which to me does not make for a foodie destination, $15+ sandwich. I had heard about this place but had never tried it before. I love a good sandwich, so I was excited to give it a shot. Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. If I give this place a second chance, I'll definitely need to say 'lite lettuce'--or maybe just 'no lettuce, please'--unless I want another salad disguised as a sandwich! read more

The menu is descriptive, easy to read but SUPER hard to choose from as they all make your mouth water. One of my favorite places to grab a quick sandwich on the way to the beach! I would definitely recommend ordering online in advance so that you know exactly when your order is ready & so you can walk straight in, grab your food, and go. Parking can be tricky if it's busy in the area, but if you're lucky you can get a street stall right in front of the store. It's grab and go so you can't eat inside. The store itself is super small. My boyfriend sent me there with hopes that it would be just as good as before but it was a horrible experience for me as my first time and him as his second time. For those of you that don't know, they are located on Koko Hear Ave, close to the corner of Waialae Ave. Right next to the crack seed store (that has also been there forever). But of course, over the years the prices have gone up, so I have found myself coming here less and less. My husband and I usually order two different sandwiches and trade halfsies. This way we get best of both worlds :D At our most recent visit, we got: The No Comply ($12.50) Macadamia nut pesto chicken salad, Maui butter lettuce, local tomato & garlic mayo. There were times that I've stopped the work flow whenever someone sees me with this work of art with just a glance they were instantly in a trance wanting to know where to find it and it's right up in Kaimuki right next to the Crack Seed Store and there's no seating like they used to have a few years back but they do have that system to wrapping your sandwich perfectly to transport it without any shifty shift holding its own beautifully.
