Timmy T's is the WORST sandwich shop EVER. Honestly, they're getting one star only because I can't give them a zero. Ordered a turkey sandwich, which comes with sprouts, lettuce, tomato and mayo and asked for the sprouts and tomato on the side, and was told that they're not allowed to do that. First he gave me the excuse that they don't have portion cups so I asked for them to just wrap it in paper and he refused because that's one of their founding rules. He literally told me "you can either have it in the sandwich or not at all" even though I'm paying for the ingredients. He then added on that if I wanted to pay extra for the premium add-ons ($2 for a slice of cheese), I could get THOSE on the side. To make the sandwich worth even LESS than the $10 for turkey and lettuce, I watched as he cut the bread in half and DUG OUT the insides of the bread and threw it away before putting the turkey and lettuce into what was left of a very skinny baguette shell. So much for trying to support a new business to the area. Never again! read more

Their wrapper reads fast, fresh, and friendly and I'd have to agree with all 3. We stopped by to pick up dinner after grocery shopping at Safeway. It's a decent sized menu and it was our first time. The workers were friendly and joking and patient. They suggested a giant pickle and oh boy I'm so glad we got it. Super crunchy and delicious - a good pickle on the side makes a sandwich complete. The bread was Hawaiian sweet roll and so good and surprisingly never got soggy, unusual esp since I was having tuna. The shop itself is clean and bright. The sandwiches were ready in no time. I love Timmy T's. We usually go to the Kailua location since we live on the Windward side however we were in kaimuki and made a stop at the kapahulu location where parking is plentiful. Timmy T is clean, specious and great friendly service but very disappointed that my sub sandwich had only 1 layer of ham. Really? And very little lettuce. Had a coupon for a free sandwich that was about to expire (had another one that did expire)) so I decided to use it rather than lose it. Maybe because I had a coupon the meat wasn't visible (#1 Stumpy) only the cheese, lettuce and tomato. A really very thin slice of meat was found when I opened the sandwich. It was almost a vegetarian sandwich. The #12 (Kailua) was a bit better (slices of meat was easily seen). Parking was okay but crowded (maybe the upstairs might have been better). There were three employees who were friendly and the place was bright, airy and clean. Tomatoes, lettuce and cucumbers were fresh. But I think it will be a while before I go back. read more

We've eaten here 3 times.. twice at the Kapahulu location and once at the Kailua location. The service here is really super because they are friendly and they make your sand which quick! The prices are reasonable and they have tons of different options and combos. If you're getting one of the basic sandwiches, don't forget to ask for the specific vegetables because I made the mistake of expecting all the basic veggies and I just got lettuce. Also the Kapahulu location gave a little more meat than the Kailua location. The bread isn't exactly as good as Storto's but it wasn't bad either. Very soft and fresh. I went to timmy ts in Kailua a long time ago and got some sort of italian sub that was really good. I was excited for them to come to kapahulu since I live nearby. I went here twice in the last 30 days. I ordered a goodfella, and It was good. However I noticed they don't put a lot of protein. It kinda feels like youre being ripped off for a $15 sandwich. The flavors were good though, so I wanted to come back. I ordered a tuna deluxe on wheat bread. The sandwich overall is maybe a 4/10. The tuna doesnt have flavor, and they barely put any tuna anyway.. im kind of upset about my sandwich, cus it looks really good. But sadly isn't. By far the worse sub I've ever had although deli is quite tasty the portion to bun ratio I thought was very sad. Service was great and atmosphere was cool as well as they had a lot of pretty cool things on their wall and artwork. However I was not pleased with their sub. As you can see in my picture it was very small and sad. Luckily it was a complimentary classic sub on them that I got to try for free to no loss for me however I do want people to be aware of this if they do spend their hard earned money here. Located in Moanalua shopping center this sandwich shop has lots of options to choose from. There is lots of parking. The staff were friendly, and service was quick. I opted for one of the classic grinders ("Braddah"- roast beef, lettuce, tomato, and mayo) on their signature 8 inch Hawaiian style bread. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and delicious. The roast beef was tender and pretty juicy. The bread was the star of the show, soft and slightly sweet. Overall the sandwich was good but I would have liked a little more meat, maybe next time I'll pay the extra $ for more. If you need to use the restroom, go inside Safeway. It's at the far end of the store... Timmy T's has locations in Kailua and Salt Lake. I've been to both. Kailua has challenging parking, and Salt Lake was on the busy side and didn't have much personality. That's why this Kapahulu location is the best! It's clean, bright, spacious and nicely air-conditioned! There's counter seating around the perimeter of the shop. Check out the signs on the walls... some are hilarious! Timmy T has been on my go to list for quite some time now since I saw that they allowed dogs at their other locations. One finally opened up in my neighborhood so it's now walkable distance from me! It's located in the Safeway complex on the corner where the boba shop used to be. There was a lot of businesses that come and go in that spot but hopefully this one gets to stick around. There is lots of parking available (sometimes) probably not on $5 Fridays. But you can always park upstairs and take the elevator or stairs. It is a bright store with lots of cool artwork on the walls. Service was fast and attentive. There was a bunch of sandwiches. I got #11 which had turkey and ham I believe the farmers special? For about $11. It was a 8" sub sandwich and i got my order pretty quick. It wasn't too busy but they had a steady flow of people coming in. They have a few bar seats along the glass wall or you can eat outside where Safeway is. There is a bunch of tables out there which is where I headed to snap a few photos before going home. Still consistently delicious. The team members at the establishment was on point. Even offered to cut in half for us. We also got the Lutz oiginal potato chips to share. Very delicious. Love that Timmy T's has a location conveniently right in the hear of Kapahulu right beside Safeway so you know there's a lot of free parking though it can get quite busy there's always the second level as well. Walking in it's not as big but with their menu that's very easy to read to see exactly what's in each sandwich makes the decision easier. I did order the one of the classic grinders..."Stumpy Pete" which has smoked ham, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo is your basic filling and as I ordered my sandwich I'm not thrilled that they don't confirm you option of Hawaiian Style or 9-Grain Wheat Bread as they basically started my sandwich as soon as I ordered it and though it clearly says what's in it that to confirm that as well all they asked if I wanted any sides which I didn't, paid and felt like I needed to tip when I had to ask for the wheat bread is not exactly great...moreso they also had the "free add-ons" as well which I noticed later made me even sad as I would love some of the items. Although it clearly states it I feel like I left with the basic and no wow factor like the competitor does right before your eyes and as the sandwich was made it was just handed over without a thank you which is something that's not said regularly is quite disappointing. I came here because I got a mailer for a free classic grinder. I had been curious about this little sandwich shop. I got the bird of paradise grinder, which is a turkey sandwich. The bread was so soft and the mayo was so tasty. You could tell that the meat and the vegetables were also really fresh and good quality. It's a simple sandwich but really well done. This was my first time at this location, I have been wanting a sub sandwich lately and want to support other businesses besides Subway. I remember when you first opened a store in Kailua. I ordered online. I had a hard time choosing because all the sandwiches sound great-- It was a choice between a roast beef, Italian, or turkey. I chose the Bird of Paradise because I love a turkey sandwich with sprouts. The Bird of Paradise says it comes with roasted turkey, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and sprouts. Simple, right? I added cheese and cucumbers, and asked for it to be cut in half. I tipped $1.80, even though this was just an online pickup order. When my boyfriend got home with my order I was excited, but after I bit into it I noticed it seemed to be missing something. I opened it up and there were no sprouts! And it also wasn't even cut in half. The prices are really fair for their sandwiches, so I'm not too upset, but it is upsetting and surprising that they forgot to add a main ingredient that is supposed to come with the sandwich, (sprouts) and that they couldn't even bother to cut it in half. I know I can cut it in half myself, but come on.. why couldn't they? My boyfriend said the restaurant was basically empty when he picked up my order. It was two hours before closing. What was the issue? I do want to add that the sandwich tastes okay. The bread is nice and soft, and the vegetables are fresh and crisp. The meat and cheese are also great. It just would have been even better with sprouts... thank you for not forgetting my cucumbers and cheese. Really bad first experience, I'm sorry to say! I did get it with all the condiments - I personally did not like their mayonnaise. Not sure if they put too much or not but definitely would ask for light mayo if anything. A genuine question for the business: Did you do community research before opening? Whenever I am in the mood for a sub or sandwich, the Safeway Kapahulu has been my go-to. I was excited when I saw Timmy T's moving in! I had never heard of them before, so I did some more research into what they offer. Timmy T's prides itself in offering premium meats from Boars head....... Who else sells custom, made to order subs with Boars Head? Oh.... safeway.... It's unfortunate to move in right next to your biggest competitor, especially if they undercut you on price and offer to toast your sandwiches (Unfortunately, Timmy T's does not toast your sandwich) I understand supporting local, but when eating out is a luxury in our current economy, getting the best Bang for your Buck may be the choice we make. The location itself is super small, and it reminds me of Harry Potters' room under the stairs. I have been in a few times, and the staff are just standing around staring at you, hoping you'll order something.
