I ordered through DoorDash. I do a lot. Because I love their sandwiches. But what a disappointment when I saw that my island veggie sandwich looked like this and no sprouts. I thought it was weird that I had just ordered and a few minutes after the driver already picked up weird.

    Hardly any meat

I love Timmy T's. We usually go to the Kailua location since we live on the Windward side however we were in kaimuki and made a stop at the kapahulu location where parking is plentiful. Timmy T is clean, specious and great friendly service but very disappointed that my sub sandwich had only 1 layer of ham. Really? And very little lettuce. I'm not sure if I'll be returning to this location. Am sad.

Great, fast service. Sandwiches were decent. Could use more guts (meats and veges). However they're a nice size if you want to eat while driving, as nothing will fall out. Might be nice of them to ask if we'd like any of the free add ins, because I almost forgot to add sprouts.

Timmy T's Gourmet Grinders. Kapahulu location. Shared free parking. Located next to Safeway. Sign up online for rewards program. For birthday rewards $10 off. Tables and chairs available, inside and outside of business. First time trying. Went on Sunday lunchtime. 3 workers. One taking order. Ordered 3 Pacific Pastrami. Since this was my first time ordering, was not aware of the different bread options, either lettuce wrap, Hawaiian sweet bread, whole wheat bread. Worker didn't ask or verify. Was given the Hawaiian sweet bread for all 3 Pacific Pastrami. Also, was not aware of the list of FREE ADD-ONS. Worker never asked or inquired if the toppings included were okay or if we wanted the additional FREE ADD-ONS. For 3 Pacific Pastrami. 3 Stars. For business. Customer service. Also, the Hawaiian bread, was soft, but didn't care for it. Pastrami was okay, quarter pound, but kinda pricey $14.99. 8 inch. 3 Pacific Pastrami made fast, But Worker should have Verified order. Reminder: Provide phone number at register for rewards. Can also order online.

Tuna deluxe. But barely any tuna..

I went to timmy ts in Kailua a long time ago and got some sort of italian sub that was really good. I was excited for them to come to kapahulu since I live nearby. I went here twice in the last 30 days. I ordered a goodfella, and It was good. However I noticed they don't put a lot of protein. It kinda feels like youre being ripped off for a $15 sandwich. The flavors were good though, so I wanted to come back. I ordered a tuna deluxe on wheat bread. The sandwich overall is maybe a 4/10. The tuna doesnt have flavor, and they barely put any tuna anyway.. im kind of upset about my sandwich, cus it looks really good. But sadly isn't. And there's nothing worse about being excited for food to only be put down by it.. 5 stars for service though.

By far the worse sub I've ever had although deli is quite tasty the portion to bun ratio I thought was very sad. Service was great and atmosphere was cool as well as they had a lot of pretty cool things on their wall and artwork. However I was not pleased with their sub. As you can see in my picture it was very small and sad. Luckily it was a complimentary classic sub on them that I got to try for free to no loss for me however I do want people to be aware of this if they do spend their hard earned money here. All in all it was okay and nothing really special that would make me go to them then your normal places that people know on island.

First time trying this place. Easy to order as all the sandwiches are pretty standard. All your favorite meats and toppings are represented. I ordered the Stumpy Pete and it came out with very soft bread, crisp vegetables and nice smoked ham. There's quite a bit of choices on the menu and I will probably come back to try different ones. Nice catering options too for meetings and get togethers.

Located in Moanalua shopping center this sandwich shop has lots of options to choose from. There is lots of parking. The staff were friendly, and service was quick. I opted for one of the classic grinders ("Braddah"- roast beef, lettuce, tomato, and mayo) on their signature 8 inch Hawaiian style bread. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and delicious. The roast beef was tender and pretty juicy. The bread was the star of the show, soft and slightly sweet. Overall the sandwich was good but I would have liked a little more meat, maybe next time I'll pay the extra $ for more. I will be back if I'm in the area because that bread was *chef's kiss* good!

Lunch in Kapahulu, Honolulu, Hawaii... A Hot New Business took the place of S7 Icy Bubble next to Safeway. The shared, free parking is much appreciated! If you need to use the restroom, go inside Safeway. It's at the far end of the store... Timmy T's has locations in Kailua and Salt Lake. I've been to both. Kailua has challenging parking, and Salt Lake was on the busy side and didn't have much personality. That's why this Kapahulu location is the best! It's clean, bright, spacious and nicely air-conditioned! There's counter seating around the perimeter of the shop. Check out the signs on the walls... some are hilarious! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. They're so efficient that my sandwich was ready by the time I paid! Whoa! I got the #6: Island Veggie. The cheese gave the sandwich a lot of flavor! The bread was nice and soft! Veggies were fresh and crunchy! It was delicious and healthy! I didn't feel stuffed nor guilty! LOL! I'd go back for other sandwiches!

Placed an online order, but they make it when you arrive. + #6 Island Veggie ($9.99 + $2.99 extra beef + $2.49 extra chicken): take bread out, cucumber, sprouts, tomato lettuce were the default, remove mayo, add Dijon, add onion, add Italian herbs, cut in half. Love all the customizations, makes a great savory and crunchy sando. Bread was so soft and was slightly sweet, reminded me of Hawaiian rolls (8.6/10)

Second time trying Timmy T's and they did not disappoint. The delicious chicken sandwich is indeed delicious--super soft bread and perfect amount of sauce and toppings. Service was super quick--my sandwich was done by the time I finished paying.

So Stoked that Timmy T's opened a new location in Waikiki . Do you call them Grinders? Or Subs? Either way, they can be called delicious... I went in and they help me decide what to get... I got a couple of their most popular sandwiches and a super unique walking salad You can eat it there in there retro beach feel dinning area or like me got it to go to enjoy the outdoors. Oh and Pro Tip: LOTS IF FREE PARKING! On the lot right above the store.. Located at 888 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, our new sandwich shop is just a mile from Waikiki Beach, Kuhio Beach Park, and Kapiolani Park Beach. They are right next to Safeway in the Kapahulu Shopping Center. Timmy T's makes it easy and convenient to grab a delicious sandwich . We offer unique flavors and options - perfect choice for a quick meal or to enjoy a the park or the beach

Timmy T has been on my go to list for quite some time now since I saw that they allowed dogs at their other locations. One finally opened up in my neighborhood so it's now walkable distance from me! It's located in the Safeway complex on the corner where the boba shop used to be. There was a lot of businesses that come and go in that spot but hopefully this one gets to stick around. There is lots of parking available (sometimes) probably not on $5 Fridays. But you can always park upstairs and take the elevator or stairs. It is a bright store with lots of cool artwork on the walls. Service was fast and attentive. There was a bunch of sandwiches. I got #11 which had turkey and ham I believe the farmers special? For about $11. It was a 8" sub sandwich and i got my order pretty quick. It wasn't too busy but they had a steady flow of people coming in. They have a few bar seats along the glass wall or you can eat outside where Safeway is. There is a bunch of tables out there which is where I headed to snap a few photos before going home. Can't wait to dig in!

This place was just two blocks away, so we braved the November misty rain and consistent wind through the buildings to make it over here. To be fair, this seemed more like a Vietnamese coffee joint and a Banh Mi place... so maybe coming here for pho wasn't our best idea. They had two kinds available that night-- beef and chicken. Since chicken pho is not something I'm willing to try, we both ordered up the dac biet. The broth was bland with a thin and unpleasant veil of grease along the top that congealed quickly on the rim of the bowl. It wasn't hot enough, or maybe the pre-cooked and chilled noodle block they poured it over cooled it off. Meat was chewy and low quality. The sprouts and basil were soggy and wilted. Honestly, it was a get up and leave kind of thing. The whole place was just dingy and didn't feel great. I've eaten at some very modest places in my native San Gabriel Valley in Southern California, so it's not a snobbery thing. It's a "someone get a Swiffer wet jet and some paper towels and give this whole place a once-over. Speaking of once, that's the sum total of times we'll ever eat here. Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. If I give this place a second chance, I'll definitely need to say 'lite lettuce'--or maybe just 'no lettuce, please'--unless I want another salad disguised as a sandwich!

I had visited their sister location the night before in Waikīkī and had such a great experience that I told my wife, "If this place is anything like last night, we're in for something good." She agreed--and we decided to give it a shot. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by Colby, a tall, friendly guy with a great attitude. I mentioned my experience from the night before, and he immediately said he wanted to live up to that standard. That kind of response set a really positive tone. We ordered two Aroma Specials: Dolce & Banana (me) Nutella Latte (my wife) For food, we went with: P.B. Delight açaí bowl Turkey pesto panini Bacon & egg bagel Total came out to about $62, which we expected given the location near the beach. We grabbed a seat inside by the window (outside seating was full--no surprise on such a beautiful morning). Our drinks came out quickly--but unfortunately, this is where things started a little rough. We both noticed right away that something was off. My wife's Nutella latte didn't have that rich hazelnut flavor you'd expect, and my Dolce & Banana was missing the banana entirely. Honestly, they tasted almost identical. When I politely mentioned it to a staff member who brought out our food, the response felt dismissive and didn't really address the concern--which was disappointing and definitely not the experience we were hoping for. At that point, we decided to just enjoy the food and move forward--and I'm glad we did, because the food was fantastic. The turkey pesto panini was loaded with flavor, perfectly crispy on the outside, and packed with melty cheese. The bacon & egg bagel was hearty, well-balanced, and super satisfying. The P.B. Delight açaí bowl was the surprise standout--perfectly blended, fresh, and the peanut butter added an awesome richness that made it feel like a treat. Everything on the food side absolutely delivered. A few minutes later, Colby came by to check on us--and this is where the entire experience turned around. I let him know honestly: "The food is amazing, but the coffee missed the mark." Without hesitation, without attitude, and without making excuses, he said, "Hang on, let me fix that." I even told him not to worry about it--we were enjoying ourselves regardless--but he insisted. "Rick, I got you," he said. Within minutes, he came back with two freshly made drinks and a sincere apology. We took a sip and immediately--night and day difference. The Nutella latte had that rich, distinct hazelnut flavor. The Dolce & Banana finally had that smooth, balanced banana note Exactly what we were hoping for the first time. Colby is the MVP Colby completely turned this experience around. His attitude never changed--he was smiling, positive, kind, and genuinely cared about making things right. No defensiveness, no excuses--just great customer service and follow-through. That kind of service is rare, and it matters. It's evident that not all the workers have that same dedication to customer service but Colby does! What could have been a disappointing visit ended up being a great one because of him. Hawaiian Aroma Caffè--take care of this young man! He represents your business incredibly well. He needs to be leading your team on what customer service looks like and they need to follow his lead. From naming customers by their first name, to holding that perfect smile the entire time, to checking in with guests after receiving their meals and really caring about their experience. Colby naturally has it and should be showing every one how to do it as well! The Future Looks Bright for Colby and if you don't take of him, someone smart will! Final Thoughts Great food, great location, and a really cool atmosphere--but what stood out most was the service recovery. Mistakes happen anywhere. What matters is how they're handled--and Colby handled it perfectly. Because of him, we'll absolutely be back. Thank you again, Colby--keep doing your thing. You made our day. - Dr. Rick

This was our last night here in Oahu. I wanted to do something special, we had gone twice to Duke's…read morerestaurant and enjoyed it but wanted to do something different. Chat gpt recommended this place and I have to say the AI was right! The place is really fun. You can park downstairs and they valet Park you and they will stamp you for free parking. The atmosphere is a fun vibe. They had live music. It's a indoor outdoor place. One thing to note, they don't serve their lunch menu after 4:00 so we went there expecting burgers and they don't serve them. So we kind of stayed reluctantly. I ended up ordering the guava ribs and my wife got them too. Those had to be the best ribs I think I have ever had! They literally fall off the bone as you're trying to pick up the meat. One of the reasons we wanted to go here was we wanted the options of seafood but one of our adults doesn't like seafood and they said that they had all kinds of stuff, which they do. Our server Maka, was incredible. He brings us out a free appetizer and said that was from the chef. I don't know if it was the chef or him but I was impressed and it was good. It was some kind of little fried dumpling. It was awesome! One of the people in our party had thought he was not going to order something and I gave him one of my ribs and after he tasted it, suddenly he wanted some too. I grabbed Maka and asked him If he could get those ribs fast because the rest of us were already halfway through our meals. He got right on it and had that order in. The ribs came out just in time and everybody was happy. It ended up being one of the nicest meals that we had the whole week. We were here and it was a great way to end our vacation here in Hawaii.

Now, we make it a point to stop for drinks and apps every time we visit. This time we had the Truffled Edamame and the Kalbi Venison Gyoza. Now to the funny part. I went to leave a review because our experience was great again, but was surprised when I opened yelp to find one already typed out. At first I thought it was an AI suggestion. All this to say, Tiki's is a must if you're walking down Waikiki! There's also FREE 3-hour parking downstairs when you visit. Tom told us of the daily happy hour from 2-5 and late night, and occasionally live music! Original visit (2021): We left the beach in search of a cool place to grab a bite and enjoy some beers! Tiki was the perfect spot! Our wait was short and our food came out quick! Our bartenders Marteen (sp?) and Kama not only provided excellent service, but were a pleasure to talk to! We had the Ahi Poke, the French Dip Sandwich and the Kalua Pig BBQ Sandwich. The BBQ sandwich came out on a taro bun and smothered in guava BBQ! It was our favorite! Forgot to snap a pic before devouring our food, but if you find yourself in the area it's a must stop!
