A thousand stars out of five. I will be talking about their bowls for years. We tried their traditional acai bowl. It was so scrumptious, sweet and tart and crunchy, just melts in your mouth delicious. I had never really had an acai bowl before, but it was on my list to try and I knew this was the place to start. All of the ingredients were so fresh. One child had an I Lava You bowl, and really like the crunch from the cacao nibs. We also had the Monkey Bowl, and it was life changing. I am a huge chocolate peanut butter fan and it hit all of the spots! I cannot even describe how good it was but I will crave it for the rest of my life. It was so smooth and creamy and delicious, we will never be able to find one this good at home, I just know it. This was a popular location, which is a good sign and something we look for on a vacation. There is some seating outside and also a lot of people just walk around with their bowls. This one was just a few steps from our hotel. One child even bought an adorable tank top. I really hope I can come back again soon.

Okay, okay-- now that I realized there isn't just ONE Sunrise Shack on the Northshore, I started to see them pop-up all over the place. Silly me. Anyway, as I said in my Kailua Sunrise Shack review, this was my favorite acai bowl on Oahu, and Kauai. Came back, a 2nd time, and even bought a hat! I'm not a souvenir guy, but this trip I made sure to get a few items from the places I loved most.
I loved how crunchy the bread was and the large pieces of tomato top and bottom. So yum Service was fast even tho the line was kinda long. I adored the ambience. So bright and cheery They had a wall of just bright, rainbow type things and it totally gave it a positivity vibe.
The smoothie bowls are great, vibes are good and we didn't eat at the location because at the time there was a homeless person sitting face down on the table. I know that's not totally in their control but there's lots of places to eat beyond the seating they provide, such as the beach. Just eat it quick! My I lava you bowl was really runny. Service is fast I'm taking a star away because it's expensive. A 3$ up charge on macadamia nut butter when you get maybe a tablespoon worth and it's locally grown on the island (despite everything else) is pretty crazy. It's about 30$ for two bowls. It's vacation though on the Waikiki strip! So expect those prices. Good smoothie bowls.
A tasty acai bowl however a bit pricey for very little fruit toppings. Also the base is blended with bananas and dates only so it has a pretty strong banana flavor, more like an acai smoothie base than other acai bowls.
I absolutely love the smoothies and açaí bowls here. Expensive? Yes. But it's in the beach in Waikiki so what were you expecting? Pro tip: do not leave food unattended or on the edge of the table or the birds WILL come for it.

I did add a few of the add-on's like protein, which added to the price, making my smoothie close to $16/$17+ which is steep for a smoothie that isn't the biggest. Overall, great option for a quick and healthy start to the day/mid-day meal. It's pricey, but what isn't in Waikiki!?

This was my first time visiting sunrise shack and it did not disappoint. Line was pretty long since we went around 9-10. We maybe waited about 15 mins before we got our açaí bowl and smoothie. There are some tables outside for you to enjoy. You can also go across the street to the beach The açaí bowl was delicious! One note is that there isn't much fruit and a lot of granola. But flavor is there!! The blue dream smoothie is 10000/10. Wish we went back before we left and got it again!! So delicious. Overall, this is a solid place to visit!! read more

I have been craving a papaya bowl the entire time and finally got to get one. The ingredients in it were spectacular. Gluten free granola, dried goji berries were amazing, blueberries and bananas with chia seeds. Everything was so fresh. I deducted a star because my papaya bowl had two spoons full of fruit. I felt that they could have picked better papayas for this item if the main focus is on the papaya. I have seen other places with bigger and meatier papayas for their bowls, but it had yogurt in it and I didn't want that so I tried this place instead for the around the same price, $15 almost after tax. Lots of seating outside. Customer service was okay. All the employees seem so busy they didn't have time to smile. read more

Sunrise Shack became my favorite go-to smoothie in Hawaii! This location was near my hotel, so I got to try a few things. -The Tropical Smoothie was my favorite! It is not only very pretty but it tastes fresh and delicious! -Blue Dream Smoothie was not too sweet, but the flavor was good. I still liked the tropical one best. -Monkey Bowl has a good amount of peanut butter. The bowl is delicious and flavorful. I thought it had a lot of different fruits. Overall I loved the smoothies and drinks here. They are not as sweet and more on the healthier side which I loved! read more

The açaí bowl with blueberry and strawberry topping add ons was about $19 which I think is crazy expensive for mid açaí bowl. I probably wouldn't pay that much again for an acai bowl. Customer service wasn't very welcoming nor very friendly. read more

I ordered the Tropical smoothie. The workers are very polite and ordering was quick and easy. The smoothie was average nothing standout about it. The straw provided crumbled and we could no longer use it. Having been to the original sunrise shack, it's nice walking in and it brings you right back to the side of the road off Kam Highway with all the colorful walls and bright yellow stand. read more

This is where paradise can be tasted! This Sunrise Shack was located right below our hotel at the Twin Fin, making it the perfect breakfast spot for us. Sunrise Shack, a vibrant grab-and-go cafe facing Waikiki Beach, specializes in delicious smoothie bowls. I went there twice. The first time, my girlfriend and I got the Acai Bowl, Tropical Bowl, and Almond Coconut Bowl. The second time I got the Blue Dream Bowl and Papaya Bowl. The Tropical Bowl was my personal favorite but everything else was also amazing. Would highly recommend if you're visiting Hawaii! read more

I first came here because the place that I usually get my avocado toast closed without any notice. I decided to walk around to see what was open at 6 AM and discovered Sunrise Shack. I was surprised at the size of the bread they use. It was huge! It is very tasty and filling. So I've returned 2 more times and always satisfied. The ladies working there are cheerful and friendly, always smiling. They have açaí bowls and smoothies as well as coffee. It is clean and oh- it's the Waikīkī location, across from the beach. They have outdoor seating. I hope they don't close. It's hard to find places open early to eat. read more

Okay so you need to know Sunrise Shack has two locations on both ends of the Waikiki strip. This one is located on the southern part of the strip. I was thankful for this place because instead of walking 15 minutes to the other side it was only a 5 minute walk from my hotel. The space and decor is well decorated and the cashiers are all very pleasant. There are a few tables in the front if you get there early enough, but if you don't the beach is just right across the street. Let's talk about food. Strangely their açaí bowl was the most disappointing part of this review and even then it was still really good. Their acai is perfectly sweetened and they give a nice amount of granola. I was very happy about that. My only feedback was please add more fruits to your açaí! I only got a banana and was so disappointed that there weren't blueberries and strawberries. BUT their tropical bowl definitely makes up for that. With a mango instead of an acai base, its the perfect level of sweetness to fruit ratio. Its topped off with pineapples as well. Highly recommend this one. LAST but not least DO NOT SLEEP ON THEIR TOAST. Probably one of the best smoked salmons Ive had. Whatever spread they put on their toast it was basically perfection and the toppings were well thought out. Overall definitely recommend for your acai fix with fast service and clean space to eat. read more

Loved the sunrise shack down the street, so we thought why not? Coffee was so good and açaí bowl hit the spot every time. Visiting sunrise shack became a staple in our trip. This particular location was nice because it had a lot more options for outdoor seating, it's right across from the beach, and if you finish the marathon it's literally walking distance from the finish so you can grab a yummy bowl to treat yourself. I stopped by the Sunrise Shack on a walk to get a coffee to go. The store is really cute and a fun aesthetic, which is what drew me in. I ordered the Mac nut bullet iced, they are mainly a smoothie and bowl shop but I was just feeling a coffee. The store was pretty busy but my coffee came out quick. Sadly, I was really disappointed with the Mac Nut Bullet drink. I didn't think it had a much flavor but the main thing I disliked was the gritty texture, and I couldn't taste any coffee. Id suggest that they incorporate more coffee (for flavor) and blend for a while longer. Additionally, I hate when places upcharge for an iced drink.
