Eggscelent waffle (waffle, scrambled eggs, bacon, oranges ~$17) + coconut mocha coffee

Great service and the food was fast! The coffee was also amazing and it was a great value for what you get. Love that you can sit and overlook the beach and it's an affordable place.

Yummy coffee. Regular latte was so smooth, not acidic or bitter. Service was kind. Love the beach vibe!

We stopped by Hawaiian Aroma Caffe for breakfast because Vintage Island Coffee was ridiculously packed and we needed a place to grab food quickly before walking over to the zoo. Overall, it was pretty underwhelming. The acai bowl was very average and the fruit didn't taste fresh (honestly it felt like canned fruits). Coffee was also subpar and nothing memorable. If anything, the pesto sandwich my wife got was the best dish here. The space itself is very pretty and the service was okay, but overall this felt like a very standard cafe you'd find anywhere in Huntington or Newport Beach (for the SoCal peeps). If you're in Waikiki with limited breakfast options, it does its job.

Stopped by here for breakfast and tried the waffles with fresh fruit and an acai bowl. The waffles were delicious and perfectly crisp, topped with nicely fresh fruit--definitely a highlight. The acai bowl was just okay, not particularly memorable, but still decent. The spot has a nice vibe and friendly service, making it a comfortable place for a casual breakfast.

I love this place. The Dolce Banana coffee is a favorite of mine and I found a review I posted here from 2016 for one of their previous locations, that is how long I have been a fan. This visit for brekky was great. An early Saturday in Waikiki, we stopped in for acai bowls and coffee, picked a table outside, and had a really relaxing visit. Located at the end of the busy Kalakaua strip where it settles down, just before you reach the Honolulu Zoo, this is a great location to sit and relax. Nice music was playing, not a familiar Playlist which was nice to hear something new yet trendy. Views of the ocean and sounds of the waves if you sit outside, or indoor seating is available. If you are not staying in Waikiki, you can find nearby parking at the zoo lot or side streets (a lot less expensive than in the hotel lots). They have more than one location in the area so if this is not close to you, look online to see if another spot may be. Their coffee is worth it.

Colby coming through and making our coffee order right!

My wife and I stopped by Hawaiian Aroma Caffè after Easter Sunday service at a nearby church, excited to try it together. I had visited their sister location the night before in Waikīkī and had such a great experience that I told my wife, "If this place is anything like last night, we're in for something good." She agreed--and we decided to give it a shot. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by Colby, a tall, friendly guy with a great attitude. I mentioned my experience from the night before, and he immediately said he wanted to live up to that standard. That kind of response set a really positive tone. We ordered two Aroma Specials: Dolce & Banana (me) Nutella Latte (my wife) For food, we went with: P.B. Delight açaí bowl Turkey pesto panini Bacon & egg bagel Total came out to about $62, which we expected given the location near the beach. We grabbed a seat inside by the window (outside seating was full--no surprise on such a beautiful morning). Our drinks came out quickly--but unfortunately, this is where things started a little rough. We both noticed right away that something was off. My wife's Nutella latte didn't have that rich hazelnut flavor you'd expect, and my Dolce & Banana was missing the banana entirely. Honestly, they tasted almost identical. When I politely mentioned it to a staff member who brought out our food, the response felt dismissive and didn't really address the concern--which was disappointing and definitely not the experience we were hoping for. At that point, we decided to just enjoy the food and move forward--and I'm glad we did, because the food was fantastic. The turkey pesto panini was loaded with flavor, perfectly crispy on the outside, and packed with melty cheese. The bacon & egg bagel was hearty, well-balanced, and super satisfying. The P.B. Delight açaí bowl was the surprise standout--perfectly blended, fresh, and the peanut butter added an awesome richness that made it feel like a treat. Everything on the food side absolutely delivered. A few minutes later, Colby came by to check on us--and this is where the entire experience turned around. I let him know honestly: "The food is amazing, but the coffee missed the mark." Without hesitation, without attitude, and without making excuses, he said, "Hang on, let me fix that." I even told him not to worry about it--we were enjoying ourselves regardless--but he insisted. "Rick, I got you," he said. Within minutes, he came back with two freshly made drinks and a sincere apology. We took a sip and immediately--night and day difference. The Nutella latte had that rich, distinct hazelnut flavor. The Dolce & Banana finally had that smooth, balanced banana note Exactly what we were hoping for the first time. Colby is the MVP Colby completely turned this experience around. His attitude never changed--he was smiling, positive, kind, and genuinely cared about making things right. No defensiveness, no excuses--just great customer service and follow-through. That kind of service is rare, and it matters. It's evident that not all the workers have that same dedication to customer service but Colby does! What could have been a disappointing visit ended up being a great one because of him. Hawaiian Aroma Caffè--take care of this young man! He represents your business incredibly well. He needs to be leading your team on what customer service looks like and they need to follow his lead. From naming customers by their first name, to holding that perfect smile the entire time, to checking in with guests after receiving their meals and really caring about their experience. Colby naturally has it and should be showing every one how to do it as well! The Future Looks Bright for Colby and if you don't take of him, someone smart will! Final Thoughts Great food, great location, and a really cool atmosphere--but what stood out most was the service recovery. Mistakes happen anywhere. What matters is how they're handled--and Colby handled it perfectly. Because of him, we'll absolutely be back. Thank you again, Colby--keep doing your thing. You made our day. - Dr. Rick

Great spot for coffeee and food They have a super spot to chill with bfast and lunch choices

We happened to stumble upon this caffe and were enticed in by their amazing pizza deals. They had a pizza and beer for $12 or pizza and cocktail combo for $15. I oped for the pizza and a frozen strawberry margarita. Both the food and the beverages were crafted to perfection . The pizza came out quickly -it's a personal pan size - about the size of an 8x4 flatbread. Service was fantastic and friendly. They have great daily happy hour. If you are looking for a quick lunch spot this is a place to check out for sure in between shopping or as a break from the beach !

The Hawaiian aroma Café is so convenient from where we're staying. All the servers here are all kind and friendly with each other. It's nice to come into an establishment where everyone can have fun. Brings out some positive vibes. Very cool that there's seating inside or you can sit near the pool. The breakfast here is good and for reasonable price. The last time we had breakfast here we ordered the traditional waffle, two side of eggs and side of bacon. Of course we had to grab a hot latte for our coffee. The latte was good but more on the creamier side. Our breakfast came out nice and hot! Really liked that, even though this place was pretty busy! I would definitely come back here.

Good place for happy hour , place is nice and clean and has really good lighting food is good and so are the drinks I liked the food an drinks , I wish there was softer seating that would have been nice but the service is fast and the staff was pleasant

I popped into the Waikiki Walls location looking to grab a quick breakfast to start my day. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that it was very clean, bright, very open space with a modern touch. It was nice to people watch and enjoy breakfast while sitting outside. We got the Berry Acai Bowl with granola, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, chocolate chips, bee pollen & honey. We also ordered the Bacon Bagel with sweet & spicy mustard, crispy bacon, egg patty and cheddar cheese. We received fast, friendly service at a great price!

Medium Mocha
J S.

I ate breakfast here every day for a week and was never disappointed. It can get busy so coffees can take a few minutes but it's worth the wait. Servers are friendly. Environment is cool and they have good music playing. They have sandwiches and waffles and fruit bowls.

During this time span, we saw her come out and take orders for other tables, bring them their drinks, and even come back for a second round for them. It was very unfortunate, especially considering we were some of the only POC there.

They were full of depth, well-balanced, smooth, and just delicious, even for a non-whisky drinker like me! The prices were also not outrageous given the drinks' presentation and the bar's reputation. They're pretty comparable to what you'd pay for drinks at a mid-upscale restaurant, but at BLA, you're getting a whole different level of taste and craft. We were a party of 4, and we each ordered different drinks so we could all sample them. We ended up ordering quite a few haha. That's a shame because it has the potential to be very good. When you start with a cocktail concept that is deliberately kept low key with no signage, and a drink menu that rotates and evolves, you have a pretty good floor to start. Having a cozy place to settle in and being able to enjoy food from Chris Kajioka should give 430 Pkwy a high ceiling. If you like an espresso martini try something a little different. Their Espressing My Love batches espresso with Averna, black walnut bitters, and a unique monkeypod syrup. Unfortunately, there is no espresso machine so you cannot get fresh drawn espresso to make a Carajillo the way Cafe Miro use to. The ahi brioche is a carry over from all Chris Kajioka places. The grilled cheese is excellent. Hotdogs are kicked up - it used to be a black truffled miso chicken sausage but the current one is a little different. The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Fix that problem and this place would rock.

Apparently you're normally supposed to put a coin in to open the secret door, but it's broken right now, so the whole vending machine just swings right open. Slightly less secret, but still very cool. Inside is where this place really shines. Moody lighting, a giant orange tree in the middle of the room, Japanese hip hop playing in the background (I want to steal this entire playlist), and extremely cool and friendly servers and bartenders. I've been to a few other attempted "speakeasies" in Honolulu, but most are basically just dark bars with a fun door or code word. Wild Orange actually has the VIBES to make the whole concept work. Definitely worth coming just to hang out and chill. They have a full bar and an extensive specialty cocktail menu. Tried the Purple Dragon, made with ube liqueur and coconut cream. Very sweet--a little TOO sweet for my taste--but tasty and pretty. Probably should have listened to the menu and kept it as a shot, but I wanted something I could sip on for a while and chill. The Umeshu Highball was also very pretty and tasty. My friend who works as a sake distributor was impressed with their selection of good sake, so of course we had to order a bottle. Our server brought it out in an ice bucket, kept it off to the side, and completely served it for us throughout. Very classy. The food menu is fun and creative, but unfortunately not really for me because it's entirely vegan. Most times, but ESPECIALLY when I'm drinking, I want MEAT. Tried the Wild Musubi, a vegan Spam musubi. I'm not actually sure what the "meat" was. Possibly fried tofu? Whatever it was, it was definitely a passable alternative, but would have been 100x better if it were just plain old Spam. It also falls victim to what I find is a common problem with vegan attempts at Japanese food: anything teriyaki ends up being way too treacly sweet without actual meat or seafood to ground it in reality. Also tried the Char Siu Tofu Bao, fried tofu in a red Chinese-style char siu sauce on fluffy white buns. Again, fun and certainly not bad, but these would be 1000x better with actual pork. If Wild Orange had this exact same creative food menu but carnivore edition, this place would probably be 7/5 stars for me. That being said, I know being vegan will actually be a huge draw for some people, and I appreciate that the food is creative rather than just the usual sad vegan afterthoughts. Parking is pretty easy by Honolulu standards. It's inside Hawaiian Brian's, so there's a large shared parking lot. That being said, you might still have trouble finding a spot during peak gym hours since you're competing with all the 24 Hour Fitness customers. All in all, I LOVE this place. Definitely a fun stop--first, middle, only, or nightcap--on a chill night out. Will absolutely be adding Wild Orange into the rotation of places to bring out-of-town guests when I want to impress them with something cool and different. The vegan menu probably means it'll be a couple-times-a-year place for me rather than a regular haunt. But for drinks, service, atmosphere, and pure VIBES? 20/10.
