Spinach bagel
Dilyara S.

I came here on my way to the airport. Tourist area, hotel building - I wasn't expecting much from this place. I was so wrong! My husband and I had a spinach bagel and breakfast burrito. So delicious! French ingredients, freshly made. Place was clean, friendly staff. Strongly recommend this place!

Surfer's Soufflé French Toast

I first stopped in here earlier on my vacation to grab a coffee after my morning workout and fell in love with the coffee it was delicious and affordable. Today we came in to try their breakfast and it was so worth it. The service is super friendly (except for not giving me the French Toast Recipe ). I love the casual vibe of taking it easy. I'm going to miss this small slice of heaven tucked downstairs from the Double Tree).

Came here for breakfast before heading out of town. Very welcoming staff. Helpful with choosing menu items. Decor is pleasant. Food was delicious!

We've explored so many spots in HNL over the decades of loving the area. One particular restaurant that we have come back to year after year is Hiking Hawaii Cafe. Its close walking distance proximity to the Hilton Hawaiian Village is so convenient for a great meal away from the resort. One of the big reasons we have loved Hiking Hawaii is its wide variety of offerings for all tastes and appetites. From bowls to pizza to wraps and salads, HH has got you covered. Every single item that we've tried has been so reliably delicious. My kids particularly love the bagel sandwiches and other breakfast offerings. And one of the most amazing breakfast items is the Surfer's Souffle. This is like french toast on steroids! It is simply amazing and a must try. And let's not forget that HH also excels at smoothies and a whole variety of hot & cold drinks. I personally love the Mexican Hot Choco Latte! All of the tasty goodness offered by HH is further complemented by truly amazing hospitality from the owner Matt down to all of his staff. We simply feel so welcomed at Hiking Hawaii Cafe. And because of this, we will always be coming back here!

Green bowl and Summit bowl

My fellow Vegan Yelpers... UPDATE!!! Whomever said there are Vegan options, probably meant Vegetarian, because other than the acai bowls and smothies, there was nothing offered or suggestions given for vegan offerings. They can definitely help you with hiking information... but we we really wanted some ono vegan food... at least the refreshing vegan-friendly acai bows and great granola were available... on the pricy side though! Afterwards, we went looking for something warm and savory!

Street corn burrito and tropical smoothie

I got the street corn burrito and the tropical smoothie and both were FIRE!!! So good and the customer service was really great. I love this place and highly recommend it.

Hand comparison of the generous amount of granola they give with the acai bowl!

Well, I'm back in town for a conference, and came back to one of our favorite places to eat-- Hiking hawaii cafe! I have been here 3x on this visit 2025, and have ordered their Napa panini, summit acai bowl, coco mocha coffee, and smoothies. This time I ordered their Napa panini, and acai with the granola on the side. I really love the flavor of the granola and just the purity of the acai when eaten separately. They are all very friendly, and the food waiting time was fine. (They have a sign saying if you are in a hurry, you might want to look elsewhere because they prepare their food as they are ordered.) I love this place and love coming back for more! Ambiance is cute, and DJ music is great. (Today I heard Drift Away in a reggae beat. Loved it!) Oh and lastly, the acai bowls are generous in size (see photos with my hand for comparison) and although the paninis might look small, they are quite filling!

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt like pure aloha -- warm smiles, island charm and good vibes. Whatever you are in the mood for (coffee, muffins, wraps, pizza, smoothies, fresh fruit, quick snacks)...it's all here. The staff made the experience even better -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they serve. I loved that they use fresh, local ingredients, which makes every bite taste like Hawaii itself. If you're in the area, don't miss this gem. It's the kind of place you want to come back to.

Souffléd French toast
Sage B.

This souffléd French toast was absolutely incredible. Light, airy, and just sweet enough, with a subtle orange flavor that made it feel fresh and unique. Every bite had that perfect balance of richness and brightness, like breakfast and dessert had a very classy baby. I added the bacon on the side, and honestly, it felt like it belonged there all along. It was crisp in all the right places and still juicy inside. Not too salty, not too greasy. Just really well done. You can tell the kitchen cares about the details. The texture of the toast was perfect, and the orange hint didn't overpower anything. It just worked. If you're on the fence, don't be. This is the kind of breakfast that turns your whole morning around. I will 100% be re-visiting Hawaii, exclusively because of this French toast lol. 10/10. Bravo, Chef Matt!

Centrally located in the same building with Doubletree hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fun and relaxed atmosphere. Great coffee, comfy seating, really enjoyed the music. Menu looked interesting and good, but didn't try anything, I will next time.

Sausage pizza

This place is a hidden gem! We were staying in The Hilton Hawaiian village and sadly it took until our last day to find this! The food far exceeds several of the places we ate at for lunch in the Hawaiian Village. I think the cashier was the owner and walked us through the menu. I had one of the items off the daily special menu with ham, eggs, feta cheese and more amazingness that he recommended and it was outstanding with several meat options if u wish not to have ham and my hubby had the sausage pizza which was way better than the pizza at the Hawaiian village pizza place. The service and hospitality was outstanding as the cashier came out from behind the register to walk us through all the options and recommendations. After a bite of the wrap/burrito we placed an order for the next day for our pre airplane trip as we were leaving early. Amazing find... u must step out of the Hawaiian village just a very short walk across the street in the bottom of the Double tree. Enjoy!!

Had a glass of wine and baby had watered down lemonade. Her drinks were put in plastic cups with covers and those horrible paper straws. Eyes always bigger than my stomach, we ordered: - Cornbread - when i grabbed it I thought would be super dense but really wasn't. I thought it was very corny and tasty. Lightly toasted. Honey drizzle which wasn't too sweet...or maybe I just ate the parts that didn't have. Baby ate almost 1.5 pieces and even liked the Jalapeno Butter that I just dabbed on her bread. She said wasn't spicy but think she just didn't have enough. - Bone Marrow - lit it on fire to burn off the alcohol. Pretty sure it ddin't get it all so I cut baby off once I realized it. Other than needing some salt, really good. Choke mushrooms on top. One half was scrawny, but hubs had the other half for leftovers and choke marrow. YUM. - Sunchoke and Brussels - YUM. Baby ate some but was not really thrilled about it. I loved it. - Scallop and Mushroom Risotto - YUM. Delish. Baby liked it too. So much leftovers of everything. Realized when we ate it for leftovers it was all pretty oily and needed a pinch of salt. But otherwise great. Staff really nice and helpful. Love that the place is spread out and open. Bathrooms are not assigned which I'm sure can get gross, but is great to not have to wait for just the women's. There is a big stall which was perf since baby is potty training and had to go #1 and #2! Only thing missing was a hook to hang my purse and her bag. We came around 4PM and were surprised it was almost empty (but slowly it did get busier). Our food came with complimentary bread with guava sauce. It was really good! The bread is toasted, crispy, and buttery. Everyone in my party enjoyed it. We did not expect our food items to come in really large portions. I loved the chicken karaage! The batter was light and crispy with great flavors and had a yummy sauce drizzled on top. It also came with a scoop of rice, buttered corn, and Mac salad. Mac salad was delicious! Prime rib sandwich came with salad and au jus sauce and a side of salad. It's good but also very filling. I didn't try the burger or teriyaki chicken but was told both were delicious. After dinner, we ordered a few items from the bakery to eat on the plane. You have to take a number and wait for them to call it. I got 2 kouign Amannn, 2 Dubai coco puff, and half dozen green tea puff. The kouign amann is a circular croissant. I liked that it was soft and flaky and had a sweet, crispy glaze over it. The Dubai coco puff had a strong pistachio crunchy flavor but I thought it was way too sweet for me personally. The Star of the show are the green tea cream puffs! I would come back to just order that! The top filling tasted like a thick creamy brown butter green tea-flavored icing. The filling inside doesn't taste like brown butter and less thick but still really good. Overall, they had really good food and items from the bakery. Highly recommend the infamous green tea cream and chicken karaage dish! Customer service was quick and professional though I felt like our server wasn't that friendly lol.
