This weekend- yes, this is the last day - you can get a $5 Gelati from EARL Kaimuki. A dense Italian Ice topped with a creamy frozen custard soft serve. If you're local; you may be thinking just like a slush float. No, it is richer and creamier. And, yes, I suffered a brain freeze or two. Three choices are available: mango, cherry,and blue raspberry. Mango is my favorite...but all three are excellent...refreshing with the heat and humidity of June. Happy National Burger Day! I've been to the other Earl locations, but this was the first time at the OG one. Glad we came, we ended up getting the Infinity Burger special, with add ons like crispy bacon and pastrami, tomato, lettuce, which made the burger extra delicious and juicy. Sooo good! We stopped by for dinner after surfing and it did not disappoint. We got a couple of sandwiches and the earl fries. Portion sizes are HUGE! We got the caprese sandwich, the turkey club, a burger. All were super good, very generous fillings, fresh, and flavorful. Work lunch Wednesday was delivered to us via DoorDash from Earl kaimuki. I ordered the Reuben (not on rye) with added cherry peppers. Finally writing a review for EARL at this Market City location. For how l-a-r-g-e these sandwiches are, and the quality of ingredients, you really can't go wrong. Sure, the cheesesteak is great, but what really impressed me this recent visit, was The Italian. It was giant (expected), but the sandwich itself was exactly what I wanted. The meats, veggies, and the spicy peppers in it were perfection. I ate it while driving in traffic, so it was messy af, but that didn't stop me. Toppings and sauces dripping out galore, it was amazing. And the spiciness of the peppers (there were a few kinds, some sweet) just went so well with this sandwich! I was getting so tired of being disappointed at every other boring Italian sandwich, so I'm very excited to finally have one that I love. I also tried going for the golden ticket week, but sadly did not win. BUT the sandwich was a WINNER in it of itself, so thank you, EARL. This review is only based on my late-night visit for a gelati! I called ahead to make certain that the Marketcity location had the gelati available before heading in. I was in luck! The staff that answered the phone and helped me in-store was very friendly. I ordered the mango Italian ice with custard. I grew up on Rita's gelati, so I was really excited to have a taste of nostalgia! The gelati was pre-prepared in the freezer, but it didn't necessarily affect the quality--just the texture slightly. The Italian ice had a good mango flavor, the custard was decadent and rich. The custard was the main star for me! I'd order it on its own--I'll ask if that's a possibility next time! The store was clean even an hour before close, and the merch was so cute! T-shirts were wrapped in sandwich paper, looked like little hoagies! Tonight was my first time trying this location. While it wasn't perfect, good service brings high points for me. I came to try to use a coupon I received in my email. It didn't originally work on the self service kiosk, and at the cashier it also didn't work. She had a workaround and found out how to input the code and was very friendly. We got the waffle fries and the special sandwich today which was chicken parm. My mom, who is pretty critical, said it was messy, but she'd order it again. She loved the toasted bread and said it didn't even need the chicken! It would've been good as just a cheese pizza sandwich! I didn't care for how the fries were cooked. Finally had a chance to try EARL Kaimuki. I wish I could say I had a better experience, but maybe next time? I ordered 2 subs: Chicken Vodka Parm and the Cheesesteak. I was debating on the Chicken Vodka Parm but after seeing it on Instagram, I was sold (pic included here for reference). I asked if it was spicy, to which the reply was "no". First off, I attached my own picture here and you can see it looks nothing like the IG pic, which I totally get since everything looks better on social media. Second, when I actually ate the sandwich, it was so damn spicy. After eating half of the half sandwich, my mouth was on fire. It made it really hard to taste anything else. I was totally disappointed. After going back to look at what was in it, I noticed it said it has a pepper relish, so my fault I guess, but I don't know how anyone can say it isn't spicy. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the Cheesesteak was tasty. I'll probably try here again, but sorry to say, there are definitely better sub places. read more

I used to eat here a lot when they used to be further up Kaimuki. Boy the menu changed a lot! I miss the avocado toast. Got an email about an incredible looking fish burger so had to check it out. Super easy to order online and pick up (when there's ample parking in market city). Customer service could've been more smiley but that's okay. The fish burger was a good size for $14. Great crispy batter. But lacked salt. Needed pickles or something to enhance the flavor. Good that they packed it partially open so it stayed crispy and easy to hold. Also ordered the turkey club for $14.95. It was decent. Size was smaller than I thought but good enough. At first I couldn't see any "guts" but after cutting it in half, it looked better. Had way too much Pesto though. Needed avocado and tomato to balance the mayo and salt. Also tried the 2 piece chicken box for $13.95. Sorry but not worth it. The chicken pieces were great sized and cooked well. But the waffle fries were not good at all--no taste, no crisp, we actually threw them away. Delightful! I got the original philly cheesesteak and substituted the cheese whiz for provolone. A great decision indeed--The bread had a great crunch without tearing up the roof of your mouth, and it was filled to the brim with meat, cheese, and veggies. My only wish would be something different to dip the fries in, their ketchup isn't bad but I'm not that big of a fan of ketchup in general. Some sort of homemade fry sauce would have leveled it up! The price is a little steep, $35 for everything, no drinks included, but I know that if you sign up with your phone number and gather up 100 points you can earn $5 towards your next purchase. Had to go to Market City. Like this location better than the old one...closer to home/work. Saw they were gonna do the Krabby Patty Sammy...whatever it's called...so heck yeah, i'm there! People park like crap in that lot, so be careful, but otherwise can typically find parking fairly easily at least during the slower times. Got 2 of them krabbies...one for me, one for my mom. Felt heavy so thought to weigh one after I already took a few big ol bites. Buggah was 11oz. 2 crab patties, sauce, pickles, tomato, lettuce on a toasted bun. This is located at Market City. Parking can be tight because there are a number of restaurants there as well as Foodland. Earl is a small shop mostly meant for pick up. Call in your order or you'll be waiting a while for your sandwich. I ordered and was given an estimated time of 25 minutes, but it was ok because I just went over to Foodland to browse. My food was ready just a few minutes before promised so that was nice. I ordered the cheesesteak and the turkey club. Both were really delicious, but I personally preferred the cheesesteak. So good! First rule of a good sandwich shop, have great bread. 1 star loss, the bread on my po boy was over toasted and crunchy hard. I had the spicy chicken po boy and it was mid. It was a chicken katsu tossed in hot sauce. The best part of the sandwich was the pickle. Lastly I ordered this one sandwich, staff pressed 1 button, then turned the iPad to me so I could tip. It was such a deal I had to get it. I ordered online morning of and got a confirmation email that it should be ready around 1025. I get there and there was a very short line. That very short line turned into a very long line within an hour. My order was not ready and I think they weren't prepared for the rush with walk ins, phone order and online orders.
