Had to try their burgers, it did not disappoint. It was juicy and moist and just delicious. My cousin ordered the Italian sub, his fav and it was as expected amazing. The waffle fries always has my attention, it doesn't get too soggy by the time you take home to eat (I'm about 10 min away from market city location). The only glitch I have is I can't order on line all the time and end up calling in our order. Which works too, they take your cc over the phone. First time trying EARL today, and I'll start off by saying I would definitely go back. My meal wasn't a 100% "knock outta the park," but it was still good. I'd like to first point out that I really appreciate having the option to make a phone order. I've noticed some businesses converting over to 100% online ordering if you're not ordering there in person. Not the most efficient process, in my opinion, especially if you're driving lol. To add to the list of 'Positives', the guy who took my order was very friendly and concise, and this continued until we left with our food in hand. Definitely earned an extra star for that! For the food - it was a hard decision since there were several items on the menu that caught my eye, but today, we opted for the Pastrami Single Cheeseburger, Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, and an order of waffle fries. Unfortunately... both sandwiches had COLD buns, which was a bit off-putting since I thought they would be grilled as they appear in some yelp pics, not to mention, a cold bun is just a little 'different' for a hot sandwich. Also, the menu (as well as the yelp pics), do not show chopped lettuce in the pastrami single, so that was also an odd surprise and it added to the coldness of my burger. The burger lacked flavor and salt, overall, to be completely honest. Last complaint about the pastrami single!!... I'd also request mustard and mayo or honey mustard with my grilled bun should I ever order the pastrami single again. Ketchup on a cold, dry bun just didn't work for me. My son ordered the chicken sand and he was quite satisfied. I had a couple bites tho, and this thing was very very seasoned.. right at the verge of too salty, and that made my bites into the pastrami single even more unpleasant. Sad face. Closing argument: I'd go back and modify the burger to my liking. I can see and taste the potential in what they are serving, was just hoping the drive from the westside would've been a hit on the first try. Also, for those who are interested in dining in, it seemed like there is table service, it's not just a take-out joint. The space is limited, as this is a small little hole in the wall, but the option is there (if you're with a small party of 4 people or so). Best thing I ate in Oahu is not a moco loco, malasada, guava pancakes, poke or spam musubi but rather EARL's Italian sandwich and a huge box of their salad. First off, huge shoutout to the staff here who kindly answered their phones a minute before closing to politely tell us that Yelp hours are wrong and they actually close their kitchen at 8 pm (not 9!) BUT was willing to wait for us and still make us whatever we wanted fresh. That is some serious aloha hospitality. Another fellow customer also went in after 8 and they welcomed him as well before running to flip their open sign. They made our food fresh and packaged it nicely for us to inhale quickly in our hotel rooms as our last meal in Oahu and there was absolutely no time for any pictures. Love at first bite on that super flavorful Italian sandwich with the taste of the charred bread and pickled sweet peppers and sauce and omg I drool as I write this. Literally just landed back in Cali and am actually really sad that there isn't anything close to their sandwiches here. I guess I'm a sandwich snob when it comes to Italian sandwiches and this is def #1 in my books followed by a close 2nd in Huntington Beach, CA. The salad we got was packed full of fresh romaine and a bunch of other generous toppings and a huge cup of delicious dressing. Salad was really flavorful and I'm usually weary that salads at sandwich shops are just bread less sammies in a box but this was an actual legit salad that I surprisingly also inhaled. AMAZING. That is all you need to know about this place. First, parking is easy to find and free. Second, staff was super friendly from the moment we walked into the door until the moment we left. Every single staff member, yes, including the kitchen staff. They were playing and laughing with our daughter, it was one of the sweetest things I'd ever witnessed. As far as the food goes, solid 10/10 across the board. Best Philly I've had, best fried chicken sandwich, best Chicago dip (that ajus is drool worthy, and best pastrami sandwich ever. Everything was super flavorful and just perfect. I really don't know how to describe it. Chicken was crispy, juicy, garlic sauce was to die for. The pastrami meat was tender, no huge pieces. Don't like when you bite a piece and the meat all comes out. I forgot to tell them to cook the burger a little bit more but it was still delicious. The French Fries was Waffle cut style, came out HOT and so fresh!! Ate all of the French Fries before eating the burger. They don't have a soda machine, only lemonade or tea drinks.
