Cran noodle

Crab soup with tomatoes assorted seafood came out hot with lots of vegetables. Pigs feet was tender and noodles tasty. Lots of take out orders for lunch. Water filled on time . You have to park on the street..

Banh beo up close

We tried this place out and thought it was really yummy, clean, spacious and great service! Their bbq chicken banh mi was AMAZING! I know, I sound basic to rave about a sandwich but IYKYK a sammie can be a chef's kiss on the tastebuds. The bread was light and crispy, it did not cut the roof of my mouth. The chicken was so juicy and covered in an umami bbq sauce that was giving me unagi/ teriyaki sauce vibes even though I know that's probably not what they used. The veggies were plentiful and fresh. 11/10!! I did not get a photo but it's tasty memory lives on in my heart. We also got the citrus beef salad which was packed with tender rare beef and lots of fresh herbs and topped with crispy peanuts and shallots in a delish sweet citrus dressing that was oh so refreshing. Last up, and the reason why I wanted to try this spot was they make Banh beo which is hard to find so I was excited to try something new. Honestly, we didn't really care for it, but now we know! It is freshly steamed rice rice and tapioca flour that was still kind of soft like a custard pancake topped with dried shrimp, tofu and herbs. Overall it was awesome and we look forward to going back and trying more things.

Bun Bo Hue (good)
Kelly D.

You know what's crazy? I was never a Bun Bo Hue girly until earlier this year. I would eat it but no place really stuck with me until my parents were telling me how this is the best one in Chinatown (maybe on the island idk) so I was like alright let me try it again. Don't judge me but I don't care for the noodle type in BBH so I usually substitute it with glass noodles (top tier) or pho noodles if they don't have the first. One sip and I was wowed: it is spicy but the lemongrass flavor is so on point! I even saved the broth to eat it with rice later. I also like how they ask if you want all the toppings (ie. pigs feet, pigs blood) because I know it can be too adventurous for some people, so that reduces waste Another reason why I love this place is because they offer Banh Beo! For those who don't know, it's a Vietnamese style steam rice cake dish topped with mung bean, prawn floss, and some green onions with fish sauce on the side. This is one of my favorite dishes and Vietnamese restaurants here don't really make it so imagine my squealing when I saw it on their wall. They only open for the morning/afternoon which is a bummer because I would love to come here for dinner as well!

Came here for Bun Bo Hue, spicy beef noodle soup. Kieu is know as the best place for it and friends say it's the closest to what they could in Vietnam. I ordered it without the blood (cubes) it came with beef shank, tendon, pork sausage and pig feet. It was flavorful and came with a plate of veggies and fresh herbs to mix in; bean sprouts, basil, lime, and even banana flower which you don't normally find outside of Vietnam. I thought there was a deep flavor but was only mildly spicy. It's richer and more bold than pho broth. The noodles were different than pho noodles, they were white and round, maybe a rice noodle? I think I might order it with pho noodles next time. They are located in Chinatown so parking will have to be at one of the municipal lots or if you park on the street and walk. Service was friendly and prompt. I'd come back to try the pho or banh mi or the bun Bo hue with pho noodles.

Delicious bun rieu!!!
Rebecca T.

Wow the flavors are so good here. It might be the best Bun Bo Hue, bun rieu and pho on the island. We always frequent another more popular Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown and decided to switch it up and try something new. SO GLAD we did! Their Bun Bo Hue flavor was so bold and had a lot of depth and umami, quite lemongrassy too. Just a whole bowl of goodness. Their bun rieu tasted really flavorful, and toward the end maybe a little too salty. (Make sure drink a lot of tea that they offer.) most of all, after having gone to so many pho places for combo pho, the broth here was probably one of the best. The flavor was so well balanced. We packed the broth home and mixed it with pasta for the kid. I tried it and I loved it. He ate the whole bowl with the meatballs. The only thing I wish it would be different was that the spring rolls could be a bit more crispy. The clam appetizer could use a bit more herbs. Not sure if I'll get these dishes again. I also wanna try something new next time. But for sure I'll get their noodle soup again and again! Come check them out and you won't regret it!

We had the bun rieu and bun Bo hue. Things were good but a bit on the salty side. Not bad but ok. Overall service was really good. 20%+ tip for sure.

First time be here. We love their food. Good customer service. Nice and clean restaurant, but parking is a little but challenge. We will come back. Recommend Kieu restaurant with family & friends.

Seafood pho
Leang S.

I must say I've been to this place twice. 1st time I had their bun rieu. It was really good. Recently had their seafood pho. Broth has really good, deep Flavors. The shrimps are large. Their Vietnamese ice coffee is aromatic and strong. So if you love strong coffee. Strongly recommend their ice coffee. They have other drinks and soda available. They also serve ice jasmine tea when you ask for ice water. They have great menu selection. Service was pretty quick. Give a 4 star due to place could use a little cleaning, like dirty tables and mirror. Definitely recommended this place. Help support local business.

KIEU Vietnamese Cuisine is my momma, sister, & brother's favorite Spot for Vietnamese food, especially for the Bun Rieu! Its confirmed, and I can see why, when I finally gave Kieu a try with my momma, during our Sunday Fundays hanging out together. I really enjoyed the food, so good and authentic! I've been back few more times and on my list when I am in the area and wanting Vietnamese food! During the Summer, I wanted to go to Kieu badly, I assume they were open daily, but happen to go on the day that they were closed. Dissapointed, I went elsewhere and wish Kieu was opened. FYI., checking the Yelp hours, they are closed on Thursdays. Kieu is located at the old Saigon Cuisine restaurant on a North King St., they just opened this year 2022, the restaurant is nice and clean. Be careful when you enter, watch your steps as you will have to go up a few stairs. The service is great, the same cashier/waitress does it all, but sometimes she has help. I try to request for all items at one time ( steamed bean sprouts, tea water, fresh chili pepper, extra bowl) I usually get the bun rieu, banh mi to share. I love the bun rieu super tasty! I've recommend this business to few friends and they agree with me on the bun rieu. I got the recommendations from my siblings and mom so they can't thank me for it, I would not have known about Kieu. From glancing at the menu, Kieu has a variety of authentic unique cuisine, some I haven't heard of /tried. I always have the Mi Quang in mind, but ended up with my usual Bun Rieu. The very first time trying Mi Quang was in Cali., I have to make sure I get this dish next visit. I like that Kieu has all the veggie fixings for the Bun Rieu, banana blossoms, shredded ung choy stems, culantro and more. The Bun Rieu comes with all the right toppings, pig feet, blood cubes, tofu, crab loaf, shrimp, steamed pork. I heard the Bun Bo Hue is good too. I didn't get to try the pho or Hue Tieu Nam Vang yet, I need to have a checklist here! Kieu is where I realize, when does a bowl of noodle soup cost $16.00?! now, at least I know prices has really increase, not only here but at all businesses. I just hope it doesn't go any higher than this. Overall, I really love dining here, enjoying Momma time and enjoying one of my Momma's favorite business! I wish they open for dinner, I would bring my other half here for our Thursday night date night! Support local, check out KIEU!

My fifth and final stop of my Pho Quest (basically the whole block of Hotel/River/North King St), Kieu Vietnamese restaurant. Yes, I'm all healed up and feeling 100%! Kieu Vietnamese Restaurant is right next to Ahn Hong, and closer to Kekaulike St. This was another one of those places where I have a vivid image of coming here with my grandfather. What I remember well are the steps going up to the dining area right at the front door, and the visual of being higher than everyone who was walking by outside. I just don't remember the food! Today, the inside is quite spacious, bright, and clean. It was 12:30PM, and no one was inside. The servers were having their lunch break already! So soon? This was the only place with no other customers, and this was the time I always arrived. Yes, Combination Pho (Large) again. The menu here is quite different from the others. There are more unique and special dishes that you don't see at the other restaurants, such as Goat Curry, Quail Wrapped in Sticky Rice, Duck and Bamboo Noodle, Braised Catfish Sweet and Sour Soup, Fermented Fish Noodle, and etc. Of course, as the signs indicate, Kieu's specialty is the Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef Noodles). I'll try these next time. Pho first! First you get an okay amount of vegetables. Three leaves of culantro are a little tight. The size of the "large" bowl is a tad smaller than the other Vietnamese restaurants around the block. My first taste of the broth was quite strong with MSG, but after adding all the fresh vegetables in, squeezing some lemon, and mixing it a bit, the broth was just right. This combination pho is only limited to tendon, rare steak, brisket, and meatballs. The tendons were good. As well as the rare steak. A lot of the fat was still attached to the brisket, so I didn't end up with much meat. The meatball seemed to be dried out or boiled for too long. It was a little tough to chew, and didn't have any springiness. The noodles were good. Overall, the pho here resembles the one at Cuu Long II with its strong tasting, oily, and warmer than usual broth. The size is smaller. The meat and vegetables were ultra fresh. The tendons were my favorite. It was still a satisfying bowl of Pho. The service was excellent. Friendly and attentive. The Saté sauce here is a dryer version with a lot less oil, and more ginger taste. If I had to rank Kieu Vietnamese Restaurant out of the five on that block. I'd probably put it right in the middle. After this Pho quest, every Vietnamese restaurant has its pluses and minuses. It depends on your preference. They're all good! Much better than anywhere outside of Chinatown. Perhaps I'll start some side quests. How's that vegan Vietnamese Restaurant across the street? The one across Legend good? I'm a little curious about those lower rated places. Perhaps I can revisit a few places as well! Pho is endless!

The food is unbelievable! Sometimes there's a line out the door, but the team is efficient--so always wait! This location is in Chinatown on Maunakea. If you're lucky, you can snag a metered parking spot nearby. Pho Que Huong is super clean, and I love how they decorate for holidays. Family-owned, this local business is very welcoming. Plenty of tables. Clean restrooms for paying customers. The food and drink are made with utmost care. The produce is always fresh and clean. The pho broth is unmatched. Not too sweet, lovely and aromatic. Portions are generous for the price point. Vietnamese coffee is a must! Strong and sweet--yum! The spring rolls even taste "healthy" here in that they're not too oily, and made with fresh ingredients. The customer service is always on-point, whether eating in or taking out. Note: They do not offer XL size for takeout. I think it's sweet they don't advertise otherwise, since they don't have the proper containers for that amount of food. The service here is quick and efficient. And even though they can get really busy at times, they're still cranking out the food and beverages in a timely manner. As for the food, it's definitely comforting and delicious. The different pho broths (chicken, beef, etc) are all just right, not too oily, not too salty. I didn't even have to add in any condiments to enhance the flavor. The Banh Xeo is a huge portion, that can be shared amongst a party of 2-4. Street parking is located right out front, there's also a parking structure out back, with an entrance into the establishment directly from the parking structure. I will definitely be coming back here for more!

I heard they will keep this space for special events. The restaurant is quite busy and I'm glad we had reservations. Good thing I was there prior to lunch hour opening, otherwise we may lose our reservations since the person who made reservations tends to be habitual in arriving late. We dined in May, but it's been awhile since I first dined here. I preferred dining in Chinatown during lunch time than at dinner. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I forgot his name, but I remembered that his eyeglasses that he wore was cool/funny, since the frames for each eye didn't match the other eye! lol. Funny it wasn't me who first noticed it. One was square frame and the other was a round frame! The restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays except may write Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate that you purchase for the birthday person. Their desserts are unique and refreshing. I think there are some rotating desserts /flavors like their seasonal menu for their main menu. I guess you can always keep coming back without being bored of the menu! I was bummed to see a previous dish posted of a pasta that I wanted to try that wasn't on the current spring seasonal menu! When we dined for brunch over the weekend, I was able to get the Hainan chicken with the crispy roast pork combo. It was very filling , tasty and satisfying. I do love ginger sauce on the cold ginger chicken but sometimes the chicken is just okay. This Hainan chicken was really good and the chicken was really moist! I thought it was the best I've tried! It was good that I wanted to takeout one last time in August before they moved! No more the 50/50 combo with the crispy roast pork on the lunch menu during the weekday. It was on the spring menu. Of course it's best to eat it in the restaurant than for take out. Bathroom is a must for me when dining out and they had only one shared bathroom for everyone! There was a guy who tried to make several attempts but wasn't successful, since there was always someone in the restroom. I'm glad the waiter told me there was a bigger separate bathroom with several stalls for men and ladies upstairs. You go straight through the kitchen to catch the elevator and to another kitchen /storage area! Thank Goodness! Best wishes at your new location. You offer yummy and tasty food!

When we arrived, we were the first guests so got to pick our table. When we sat down at the pretty wooden booth, there was a happy hour menu on the table. What?!? And YAY!! There was a 2-for special on the cocktails and you could select from the full menu which featured an extravagant and eclectic selection. There were wine and beer specials too but we were here for the cocktails. From the happy hour menu, we ordered the vegan spring rolls, chicken wings, and the Bo Ne Steak--a Vietnamese breakfast with bone marrow, cubed steak, sunny side eggs and a baguette. I can vouch for the spring rolls, light and crunchy without being oily. I don't eat land animals but my friend said the wings were divine. And they give you gloves to eat them. So civilized (ha) and a nice touch! She loved the bone marrow and steak. There was so much food she didn't finish it so I took it home to the hubby who devoured it. No complaints and only smiles from him! I wanted to try a couple pescatarian dishes from the regular menu so ordered the lemongrass clams which was AH-mazing! Could have been my favorite dish of the night because the flavors were unexpected but undeniably good. And, the garlic salmon bun (vermicelli noodles) was fantastic. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was savory yet light. I've never seen this option at any other Vietnamese restaurant and it certainly elevates the traditional dish which usually comes with meat, tofu, or spring rolls. (You can still order the bun with these options and they let you choose your protein combos.) Finally, (I told you there was a lot of food) we ordered the banana blossom salad. I rarely see this offering at other Vietnamese restaurants. It's hard to describe but I refer to this dish as the red-carpet version of the green papaya salad. It's more dressed up and sophisticated. A real treat and a must-have if you're dining at An Di Dzo. Parking was easy since it's at Ward (by the theaters or you can park anywhere in the village). The restaurant is clean and modern. And the service was courteous and professional. Our server Alex was great and made the evening extra special. An Di Dzo is open for lunch and dinner. They also offer some vegan options so I'll be back. Hubby enjoyed the leftovers so much he wants to give it a dine-in try. You don't have to ask me twice! Highly recommend you give them a try, too.

Popped in to An Di Dzo randomly while walking around Ward on a random Wednesday night! The place…read morewas more than half full but we were able to be seated right away. They have very trendy seating styles. We were seated in a wooden booth. The booth chairs were so far away from the table, there was no way you'd be able to eat without sitting on the edge of the bench haha. But very spacious for 4 people! The waitress was prompt with bringing our water, taking our order and bringing our food out. They have a little lazy-Susan style sauce/condiment platter on each table which was nice for the pho. The food was actually very tasty! I enjoyed everything I ate. Which kind of shocked me, being that town is more of a touristy area and I wasn't expecting to get decent pho! Since they're located in the same building as ward theaters, there's an entire parking structure for you to park in, for free! So don't worry about parking. If you're in the area, I'd suggest trying this place out!

We came here on a rainy day. Right away, a woman greeted us and clarified that their restaurant is…read morevegan. She served us iced tea instead of water, a nice change. We ordered banh mi, rice noodle w bbq pork and spring roll, and banh bao. The food came out really fast and was beautiful and delicious. The vermicelli was the best - I could eat that every day. We were both stuffed when we left. We took the bus so I'm not sure about parking. The dining room is modest with just a few tables, nothing fancy. Those are usually the best places anyway.

You got plenty to choose from even with picky eaters so you're going to find something for everyone here IMO. We opted for the pho noodle soup and the dry hu tieu which is like a noodle dish with side soup. Flavors were amazing and were only enhanced with their house made lemongrass oil which you can self serve. The place is a bit small but we were lucky to get seated immediately on a Friday lunch. Would love to come back here over and over on my trip, but may have to make decisions since there's so much food to try! The restaurant is a peaceful serene like place and has that Chinatown like theme, showing maybe the age of the place so don't expect modern classy vibes. Also there may be a bit of a language barrier so if you can speak even a little Vietnamese, maybe try pulling it out. Otherwise, just point to the dish on the menu to order! They do accept card here btw. Parking is Chinatown so try the municipal lots for cheapest option, street parking is also possible.
