Pho Time is our go-to pho spot in Central Oahu when we're craving pho and don't want to drive into town. We tried the BBQ pork summer rolls. They only come with two, but they're huge. I'm usually more of a spring roll person, but these were so good and something I'd definitely order again. I had the brisket pho, and my boyfriend got the beef and flank pho. Both were delicious, and the broth was flavorful and comforting. I'm pretty particular about Thai tea, but theirs is always really good. The restaurant is small and fills up quickly. My husband and I were really craving some Pho/Banh Mi and thought that we would try something other than our usual and Pho Time seemed like the perfect fit based on photos we saw on their online ordering system. While the servers were nice, we did order ahead of time and showed up when the Beluga app (where we ordered off of) told us to show up, but I ended up waiting 15 minutes at the restaurant later than I was supposed to get my food. Additionally, the staff seemed to forget I was sitting/waiting for my food. My suspicion is that the online ordering service isn't actively monitored and our order wasn't started until I actually showed up to the restaurant to pick up our food at the designated time. The food was okay for us. I'm a big Banh Mi fan and was looking forward to eating their Combination Banh Mi, but unfortunately the Banh Mi seemed a little rushed in preparation and lacked flavor. My husband on the other hand, ordered their Combination Pho and it absolutely did not disappoint. Although their Banh Mi was not as delicious and flavorful as I expected, their Pho was the exact opposite of that. They give you a generous amount of broth and their portions of greens was beyond enough (maybe a little bit too much for one serving). The last food item to talk about are their Spring Rolls. It wasn't anything too special compared to your usual Spring Rolls, but I will say that their dipping sauce and everything else that comes with it (rice noodles, cucumbers, cabbage, carrots) made it so that you could easily make it a meal vice an appetizer. If you're looking for a cozy place to have dinner, their space was a bit crowded but if you're okay with then this place is good. This place has terrible service. I ordered a chicken salad and sandwich with soup, to go. My order took well over 20 min; as I waited there, multiple notification tones rang throughout the restaurant, it's annoying. When I placed my order, I told the woman, "no cilantro" on anything. When I received my order, the soup was missing. When the woman brought the soup, I said again, "no cilantro." She said, yes. I paid and left. When I got home, I opened the salad and noticed a pile of basil and what appeared to be cilantro. It tasted like cilantro, too. So, I went back to the restaurant to return my order, as I no longer wanted any of it. When I got there, the woman told me that isn't cilantro, it's "culantro." She said she would refund my salad, but not the sandwich and proceeded to argue with me that she was doing me a favor because the salad did not have cilantro, even though she very well knows they taste the same. Been coming here for a few years, mostly for a quick lunch with co-workers. I love the lemon grass chicken banh mi with a side of broth to dip it into. The bread has a nice mouth feel to it against the softer and pickled elements in the sandwich. I also like their vermicelli dish #44. The meat is well seasoned and has a nice charred flavor. Service is quick and attentive for sit down. If you're in a rush, I would recommend calling ahead to place an order. Will be back to try more flavors from here. read more

Again, super fresh veggies, a generous portion of fish sauce (they also add chili flakes in it), and they always give 2 spring rolls & quite a bit of bbq pork. My usual pho restaurant was sadly closed today. Based off the reviews, I decided to have lunch here with my sister. We came during lunch time 12-1ish. It was extremely busy & packed. Which usually means that the food must be very good. I was set on getting pho but because I saw a star next to bun bo hue & im such a fan, I decided to get bun Bo hue instead. The bun Bo hue broth was a mix of umami and spicy. But not too spicy. I loved how they were generous with the meat portion. I would say definitely in my top 3 of favorite bun bo hue's on the island. My sister got the combination pho and I got to taste their broth. I loved how their broth wasn't too light or too heavy. It was rich and super flavorful. Service was also really good. Got the: - wafu steak - lemongrass chicken & spring roll vermicelli - shrimp summer roll I haven't tasted the wafu steak but it must be good if my friend orders it all the time. Shrimp summer roll is the most basic summer roll - all the inside consists of is iceberg lettuce and rice noodles. Where are the other veggies like bean sprouts and thai basil?! Such a let down. The peanut sauce is all right, kind of watery but still does the job. Lemongrass chicken & spring roll vermicelli - this is good. The spring rolls and lemongrass chicken are both tasty. It was our first time and we called an hour ahead to reserve a table for 5 at 6:30pm on a Wednesday. The service was exceptional. Staff serving and checking on you with a smile. I was craving pho and didn't want to drive all the way to Kapolei or Chinatown for good pho. My friends and I found this restaurant in Aiea, and at first, we were kind of skeptical as I've never really had a fantastic experience with the phos around the area. But we decided to check it out as a really good smoothie store was in the same area. It's located on the upper side closer to Moanalua Rd next to Tea Cafe in Aiea Town Square on Kauhale St. There's a big parking lot that used to be free for hours at a time. However, the entire parking lot is now managed by a parking company (can't remember the name). The first two hours are free but each hour after is about $2? We had to register our car on their app via QR code which could be difficult for the older folks to navigate through. So hopefully not registering for the two hours are okay for these folks. I got their small Eye Round Steak & Meatballs pho while my boyfriend got their large combination pho. It worked out because he gave me the tendons which I loooove. The small bowl was quite big! They gave a lot of proteins even for the two meats I got. The round eye steak was also very tender - a big plus. The flavor of the broth was soooo good. It wasn't the clear, clean ones which isn't a favorite of mine. I was quite impressed by it and couldn't stop eating it! My friend got their Bun Bo Hue, and I'm usually very suspicious on whether it'll be good or not if I've never had it previously.... But this was VERY good. There was a generous amount of protein, and the brisket was veryyy tender. Winner winner! The broth, mmmm, so good as well. Lots of umami! Great place to come with the family. I highly recommend the Curry Oxtail Ramen which is probably one of the best that I have ever had! Very meaty and the portions were great. So many things to order here as we usually get appetizers to share. The service is quick and friendly as it seems like it is family operated. This a great neighborhood eatery that you can come in and enjoy yourself in a casual environment without having to pay an arm and a leg with very good portions. The lemongrass chicken was very curry like and packed full of flavor, the pickled carrots and daikon were nice and crunchy, and the summer roll was nice and filling. First time eating Vietnamese food other than Pho or some kind of Bbq meat. My friend recommended I try Bun Rieu (crab soup) and she had Mi Vit Tiem (duck noodle). The Bun Rieu had crab, pork, tofu, vegetables and noodles in a delicious broth. I'm glad I tried something different. Next time I'll try the Mi Vit Tiem which is one of her favorites. Came here a few times and have had consistently delicious pho in a relaxed atmosphere. My most recent visit was late, 30 minutes before close. There were 4 groups (2-5 people) seated and enjoying their meals. We sat at the middle table, which I normally don't like, but it was okay. There was enough room to breathe and I didn't feel claustrophobic. The service is always excellent and I didn't feel rushed even though it was near closing. I asked what was the little green leaves in the broth and the owner explained it was Vietnamese coriander leaves. He tells me that they use a lot of spices in the soup. They even have pineapple too. So much meat, too. It's a must try. You might be asked if you want "blood". Don't be shocked. If you say "yes", you'll get a big cube of pig's blood. It's an acquired taste for some. I used to love going to Pho Time II in Niu Valley, but sadly they've closed. Stopped by the original Pho Time in Aiea and shared a banh mi & spring rolls. We were served by one guy who was friendly/efficient. The place was decently crowded for a late lunch. The spring rolls were good, but I still think they were way over priced. The lemongrass tofu was just ok? I needed more lemongrass flavor or just flavor. The pho broth that we ordered with it was good, but not my favorite. Nothing was bad at all, but nothing was great. Visited this restaurant many times with my family. Suddenly, was there recently to my surprise and without notification, my bill had a 20% gratuity added for large party. FIRST OF ALL, we are family. It would have been fine if they told me or had some sign posted but they didn't and I felt they just stole my money, that I was going to tip with anyway. Don't take customer's money without notifying them or having it posted like you have it posted on the wall for the up charge on credit cards! If you are going to charge additional gratuity, it needs to be posted or customers need to be notified. Not surprised at checkout! Then the service is not even great, drinks are never refilled! Max's Filipino off of Dillingham has far better food, far better customer service, with far more space inside rather than a stuffed match box with cramp seating like in Pho Time! Since it was for a Mother's Day delivery by my niece and her boyfriend, it was a recommended choice of food from my mom's usual Chinese food. They packed the food so it was able to be served with no issues. Can't comment on the ambiance because of the order take out for Mother's Day. Based on the flavor of the food I would have it again. I walked in and was greeted right away. I was told I could sit at any available table. As I sat down, I was given a menu. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue. The soup was so flavorful it didn't need all the extra sauces. They were super generous with the meat too! I think this has got to be my new favorite place for a Bun Bo Hue. I ordered an iced coffee but it didn't come until I was almost done with my meal. It was nice and strong and the perfect amount of sweetness to it with the condensed milk. Such a nice balance. It was amazing how it stayed pretty steady with customers but they kept up really well with great service and making sure everyone was taken care of right away. I started coming here when they first opened and been coming here as my go to spot for consistently good Vietnamese food, super friendly staff that recognize you and greet you warmly every time and a nice comfortable dining area. Which is a hearty traditional Vietnamese savory crab and pork meat soup with noodles. All the flavors are well balanced and it's a hefty bowl. It also comes with fresh veggies and they give about 2-3 good size crab meat balls. Everything tastes really good, clean, and fresh as if they take their time to cook it. It's conveniently located in Aiea so when I'm too lazy to drive into town I op for this place since it's close to my hood and parking is easy. It's a small restaurant with a few tables but a steady flow of people dining and taking out. But I do love the times it is empty. The workers are really hard working and friendly here. read more

Small hole in the wall place that serves Vietnamese and Japanese food. I'd say go there for the Vietnamese food rather than the Japanese food since the owners are Vietnamese. The pho was flavorful, the meatballs are tender but the meat was a bit tough. I added their garlic chili sauce to my pho and it gave it an extra kick. So good. I also ordered the combo banh mi but I forgot to take a picture of it. I really enjoyed their banh mi- it was soft w a slight bit of crunch to it, the flavors were good. Pho Time is located in the middle building at Aiea Town Square, across the street, makai of gas station, where the old library was. They serve both vietnamese and some japanese dishes, so lots to choices. Overall, it's a 3.5 to me. Crab Rangoon Appetizer - 4 stars - for $11.25, the wonton was very crispy, and appetizing. However, I could only taste the cream cheese, and none of the crab, but I'd order this again. Gyoza - 4 stars - we got free gyoza since we ate here between 3p - 5p. The gyoza was crispy and better than some restaurants, but not the best. It's only one free serving of gyoza per table, not per order. Combo Pho - 3 stars - for $17.75 it was ok, but the broth didn't have much bone broth flavor, the noodles were a little hard and the meats were dry and tough. It's ok, but I don't think I'll order pho from here again. Maybe I'll give it another try and order the BBH instead since it had better reviews. BBQ pork and Spring rolls - 4 stars - for $16.75, tried a piece of my son's pork and spring rolls. It had great flavor, and he liked it. He'd order this again. We did get take out though and I noticed that this place put their raw meats into the broth container rather than wrapping it up separately so you can "cook" it yourself.
