Diem 99 Cafe is one of our favorite casual Vietnamese eateries to go to that is convenient. Their original location was in Ranch 99 (Moanalua) where Home Depot ended up taking over. Their business eventually moved to Pearlridge Mall with another smaller location near Sand Island. Today I went with lemon grass chicken with noodles (mini). It was satisfying, but honestly prefer their hot chicken pho with spring rolls. Service was mildly okay.

Another great spot in the Wai Makai food court. As a Vietnamese cuisine lover, the food has exceeded expectations. If you're not familiar with the dishes, there is a really tasty meat called Nem Nuong aka cooked pork patty. I say cooked cause the other version of it is Nem, cured pork (uncooked), which is one of Vietnam's favorite snack. After you order from the counter, they'll hand you a buzzer to let you know the food is ready. Which is helpful so you don't have to stand around. Definitely check this place out and I recommend to try the nem nuong banh mi. With the sauce and pickled veggies, you're in for a delicious bite. You can also order it as a rice/noodle dish with a side of nuoc mam aka fish sauce.

Smack dab in the middle of this little food court sat this quaint Vietnamese food stall. Service was kind and efficient and today I opted for a lemongrass chicken combo plate, which had braised chicken in lemongrass, seasoning and tasted a bit like curry paste? I don't know it was delicious. In this combo plate, comes a side of rice noodles as well as this beautiful shrimp salad and jasmine rice, oh yeah add in a spring roll too. This place gives you their delicious fish sauce dip, chili oil, sambal and the pickled daikon and carrots was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by this combo plate at a Vietnamese shop, but I am a believer. Enough food so that you're not hungry for the day and was under 20 bucks. I will be back to try the pho for sure.

Got lunch here and it was very good! I ordered the Super Roll, which combines a spring roll and summer roll in one. Such a genius idea and I haven't seen it done anywhere else. I also tried the pork plate, which was decent but the Super Roll definitely stole the show. I'd 100% come back just for that!

What a great place to be. It's right in the food court by the theaters. The staff is always friendly and attentive. At times, this place can get a very busy with so many things going on. It's a nice comfortable environment. We ordered couple of the Combo Pho and a Summer Roll. Their broth is always consistent and very flavorful. Although the bowl might look small but the content inside is a lot. We also added tendons for a little extra cost. We always leave there full or sometimes take home leftovers. Lemon Grass Chicken is another favorite dish that I order once in awhile. It's really good.

First time trying Diem Cafe and I like the many vegetarian options. I tried the Monk dish and it came with noodles, salad and the fried tofu topping which was the best part. The sauces came in little containers which were perfect for me because I like to control the amount of salt. The place is located in the food court on the theater side of the mall

I used to always eat here for lunch when they were located in Mapunapuna in 99 Ranch. They have some of my favorite spring rolls. I tried the Super Roll today and while it was good, it was not really my favorite. This is probably some of the best Vietnamese food you will find a food court. Their pho is also pretty good.

Diem 99 Cafe was a satisfying first experience. Their menu presents quite a wide variety of choices. It wasn't a quick decision at all. I showed the gal at the counter several photos on my phone from Yelp and asked what those dishes were. I asked if the lemongrass chicken was spicy. She described the ingredients then, to my surprise, she asked if I wanted to try. I took up her offer and she came back with two sample pieces of the chicken sitting in the lemongrass sauce. Flavor was nice but it was a little too hot for me. I wasn't used to having lemongrass chicken in a watery liquid either. I'm sure, once it all goes on the rice the meal would appear more appealing. They give you a round device that will buzz to notify you when your order is ready. The sound is quite loud, no chance of falling asleep while you wait for your food. (Lol) I ended up ordering the regular BBQ pork plate with Jasmine rice. Came with two containers of sauces. One had a very mild fish sauce taste I used for the pork. The other sauce had a slight Asian-dressing flavor for the salad. The taste of the salad wasn't strong, so I poured some of that sauce on. Besides the obvious pickled carrots and turnip, there was a nice size cucumber buried between the greens. Their salad was a delight to eat! The last Vietnamese takeout I bought somewhere else only gave lettuce. The pork had a good flavor. Texture was a little on the dry side. All in all, I enjoyed my meal and am glad I stopped by. What stands out was the exceptional customer service. Thank you (didn't get her name) for the patience, generosity and kindness today. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. If they had another location closer to where I live, I'd definitely be a regular customer.

8/12/25 Stopped here to pick up some lunch and dinner. First time here & had seen them featured on a morning talk show awhile back so wanted to give them a try. This location is located in Nehu Market food court in Pearlridge by the theater. It was just after 1PM with no line at the counter. I was greeted by a warm and friendly girl who promptly took my order and after I paid, handed me a buzzer with a number on it. I thought this was convenient since you don't have to hang out at the counter and even if you were seated, you wouldn't have to listen to them calling out your number. It took just over 5 minutes before the buzzer wet off. Their menu is extensive with pho, banh mi sandwiches, combo plates, and rice or noodles dishes. I ordered the pork patty sandwich and a Diem Mix plate1 which included BBQ chicken and pork, 1 spring roll, rice (or noodle), and mac salad. The pork patty sandwich was ok. The pork patty itself was delicious and very tasty. It was chopped into bite-sized pieces. The baguette was a little thicker than I anticipated and a lot more thicker than what's shown in the picture on the menu. There was also the usual pickled daikon, carrots, and 2 thinly sliced spears of cucumber. That was ok but I think there was too much veggies and not enough meat with too thick of a baguette. The mixed plate was ok and not anything like a local plate lunch with BBQ chicken and pork. Portion amount was good for a combo plate and the protein had a nice marinated flavor but both were dry to the taste, especially the pork. The spring roll was over cooked and the mac salad had too much mayo. I was looking forward to some yummy food considering the $20 cost of the plate, but was let down & did not fully meet my expectations. If I were to come here again, I would get the pho or salad. Overall, great customer service, food ok.

Located in Pearlridge Theatre Food Court. Absolutely LOVE the Food & Excellent service!!! Favorites are BBQ chicken Banh Mi, Pho, Oxtail, Summer Rolls, Lemongrass Chicken Plate & Lemongrass Chicken Curry. YUM!! MAHALO!! :)

It's one of the best Lemongrass Bhan Mi I have ever had!
    Crystal K.

All I have to say.... The best Lemongrass chicken Bhan Mi I have ever had! A little bit pricey all around, but good food for the price, so it's cool! Fast service, lots of seating in the mall food court. Totally recommend. It actually currently one of the better food court options, in my opinion.

    Paul M.

Got an early dinner plate lunch here and it was just as good as their old location. Looking forward to coming here again in the future! In a mall food court, it's nice to know they have some somewhat more healthy alternatives like Diem cafe!

I ordered the Paniolo salad and substituted the jicama for grilled chicken, while my mom went with the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo. My salad was pretty tasty! Everything tasted fresh and I like the bbq ranch dressing it came with. I also had a few bites of my mom's grilled cheese and tomato soup, and that was really good too. It's hard to go wrong with a grilled cheese and tomato soup. The only downside I would say was the price. Our meal came close to $40 for a small salad, a grilled cheese with tomato soup, and a drink. It did feel pricey, but I also understand that healthier foods come with a higher price tag. The staff was friendly, and our food came out quickly. The cashier was pretty cheery and happy go lucky when I came in. She did not tell me anything, like thank you, after I ordered and went straight back to the island to finish the task she was working on before I arrived at the counter. When she handed me my order, she did tell me thank you though! I ordered the Fresh Island Ahi wrap on this trip. When I got it, it was pretty delicious as usual! I love coming here because the ingredients are so fresh, and the blend of all the ingredients together just hits your mouth as a foodgasm. The only thing is I shouldn't have tried to open up the wrapper holding the wrap together. When I did, the fillings all came out. Lol! I ended up eating it like a salad and a wrap by stuffing the fillings back in. It was still delicious. If I don't get the wrap, I usually get the Ono Island Ahi salad. It's all so yummy! If you are at Pearlridge Shopping Center, I suggest giving them a try! The ingredients are all locally sourced too, which is always a plus!

They're located inside the Donquijote Food Court and have ample seating inside as well as outside. I went with the Wagyu burger, fries, and tossed salad, and all three were very tasty. The burger was juicy and flavorful, the fries were salty and crispy on the outside, and the tossed salad was light and the dressing paired perfectly with it. One thing to keep in mind: they make everything fresh to order, so the wait can be a little longer than your typical quick-service spot. I actually think the freshness is worth the extra time, but it's something to be aware of if you're in a hurry. Also tried the Apple Mint Mojito, which was delicious--light, refreshing, and a great complement to the burger. One tip: If you prefer your burger more well-done, definitely let them know when you order. The burger can come out on the rarer/juicier side, so communicate your preferred doneness upfront. Overall, a tasty meal with quality ingredients and a nice made-to-order feel. 5/5 stars and I'd definitely come back.

Seeing that they had soup of the day sounded very comforting and it was Japanese Corn Soup sounded perfect it was that along with a cup of Apple Mint Mojito sounded like the perfect combo strange as it may sound but I did enjoy it. The staff was very friendly as they brought out my items to me as I waited outside at the food court not just as it's a tiny place but no air-condition at all as it was very hot and humid in there was quite concerning and hope they have a fan or something to keep them cool which the drink certainly did that for me and I really enjoyed this refreshing sip. As for the soup it was very nice and hot and had a nice light flavor it just tasted like the instant soup I get from the store it wasn't like the corn was fresh especially since it claims to be house-made I was slightly disappointed but did come with two little pieces of garlic bread which did elevate it more still couldn't save my disappointment considering it was $9.85 over $17 with my drink, it gave me the much needed comfort as I just wanted some hot soup which I was so happy to find in the convenience right beside Don Quijote food court. I remember loving the previous restaurant that occupied this spot (Asian Grindz), so I decided to give New Town Cafe a try. I called the day before to order a small party pan of Fried Udon, and wow - it was really good! They were very generous with the beef, udon, and veggies. Unfortunately, the whole reason I ordered fried udon was to avoid eggs for my nephew, but I completely forgot to mention that when I placed the order... oops! Lol! He just skipped the noodles that day, but the adults were more than happy to enjoy his share for him! When I called to ask about pickup, I was hoping for 10am, but was told the earliest it could be ready was 10:30. I said, "Shux! I'll already be back in Ewa Beach by then, so it's okay." To my surprise, the woman on the phone offered to have it ready earlier, and we settled on 10:15 instead. I really appreciated her willingness to accommodate my schedule. As we were heading to the pickup, the same woman called letting me know my order was ready - it was almost 10am on the dot! Early!! She was also very friendly at the pickup window, which made the experience even better. The pricing was fair too - $60 for a small party pan. It was one of my favorite dishes here. Unfortunately, the food just didn't have the flavor I was hoping for. The pork chop in particular tasted a little off to me, and instead of the Chinese-inspired flavors I remembered, the dishes felt more like local comfort food with a bit of Chinese flair. The overall experience also felt a little lacking in warmth and friendliness. I know many restaurants are facing challenging times, and it's never my intention to leave a low review. I genuinely want local businesses to succeed. But one thing I've learned throughout my food journey is that when food is made with love, you can taste it. It's more than just the ingredients--it's the care, pride, and aloha that come with it. And when that feeling is missing, you notice it too. This is simply my honest experience. No hate, just Queenie keeping it real. I'm hoping this was just an off day, and I truly wish them the best moving forward.
