I should've taken pictures, but I couldn't wait to eat my food!! I ordered the lemongrass chicken w spring roll w vermicelli noodles and got my mom the BBQ chicken banh mi. The verdict = the lemongrass chicken was so tender w the right amount of seasoning. The spring roll tasted fresh, not frozen and fried like how a lot of places do. My mom said her banh mi was one of the best she's had. The two orders cost about $32. Reasonable price considering it's in the mall food court. Another great spot in the Wai Makai food court. As a Vietnamese cuisine lover, the food has exceeded expectations. If you're not familiar with the dishes, there is a really tasty meat called Nem Nuong aka cooked pork patty. I say cooked cause the other version of it is Nem, cured pork (uncooked), which is one of Vietnam's favorite snack. After you order from the counter, they'll hand you a buzzer to let you know the food is ready. Which is helpful so you don't have to stand around. Smack dab in the middle of this little food court sat this quaint Vietnamese food stall. Service was kind and efficient and today I opted for a lemongrass chicken combo plate, which had braised chicken in lemongrass, seasoning and tasted a bit like curry paste? I don't know it was delicious. In this combo plate, comes a side of rice noodles as well as this beautiful shrimp salad and jasmine rice, oh yeah add in a spring roll too. This place gives you their delicious fish sauce dip, chili oil, sambal and the pickled daikon and carrots was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by this combo plate at a Vietnamese shop, but I am a believer. Enough food so that you're not hungry for the day and was under 20 bucks. What a great place to be. It's right in the food court by the theaters. The staff is always friendly and attentive. At times, this place can get a very busy with so many things going on. It's a nice comfortable environment. We ordered couple of the Combo Pho and a Summer Roll. Their broth is always consistent and very flavorful. Although the bowl might look small but the content inside is a lot. We also added tendons for a little extra cost. We always leave there full or sometimes take home leftovers. Diem 99 Cafe was a satisfying first experience. Their menu presents quite a wide variety of choices. It wasn't a quick decision at all. I showed the gal at the counter several photos on my phone from Yelp and asked what those dishes were. I asked if the lemongrass chicken was spicy. She described the ingredients then, to my surprise, she asked if I wanted to try. I took up her offer and she came back with two sample pieces of the chicken sitting in the lemongrass sauce. Flavor was nice but it was a little too hot for me. I wasn't used to having lemongrass chicken in a watery liquid either. I'm sure, once it all goes on the rice the meal would appear more appealing. They give you a round device that will buzz to notify you when your order is ready. The sound is quite loud, no chance of falling asleep while you wait for your food. (Lol) I ended up ordering the regular BBQ pork plate with Jasmine rice. Came with two containers of sauces. One had a very mild fish sauce taste I used for the pork. The other sauce had a slight Asian-dressing flavor for the salad. The taste of the salad wasn't strong, so I poured some of that sauce on. Besides the obvious pickled carrots and turnip, there was a nice size cucumber buried between the greens. Their salad was a delight to eat! The last Vietnamese takeout I bought somewhere else only gave lettuce. The pork had a good flavor. Texture was a little on the dry side. All in all, I enjoyed my meal and am glad I stopped by. What stands out was the exceptional customer service. Thank you (didn't get her name) for the patience, generosity and kindness today. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. 8/12/25 Stopped here to pick up some lunch and dinner. First time here & had seen them featured on a morning talk show awhile back so wanted to give them a try. This location is located in Nehu Market food court in Pearlridge by the theater. It was just after 1PM with no line at the counter. I was greeted by a warm and friendly girl who promptly took my order and after I paid, handed me a buzzer with a number on it. I thought this was convenient since you don't have to hang out at the counter and even if you were seated, you wouldn't have to listen to them calling out your number. It took just over 5 minutes before the buzzer wet off. Their menu is extensive with pho, banh mi sandwiches, combo plates, and rice or noodles dishes. I ordered the pork patty sandwich and a Diem Mix plate1 which included BBQ chicken and pork, 1 spring roll, rice (or noodle), and mac salad. The pork patty sandwich was ok. The pork patty itself was delicious and very tasty. It was chopped into bite-sized pieces. The baguette was a little thicker than I anticipated and a lot more thicker than what's shown in the picture on the menu. There was also the usual pickled daikon, carrots, and 2 thinly sliced spears of cucumber. That was ok but I think there was too much veggies and not enough meat with too thick of a baguette. The mixed plate was ok and not anything like a local plate lunch with BBQ chicken and pork. Portion amount was good for a combo plate and the protein had a nice marinated flavor but both were dry to the taste, especially the pork. The spring roll was over cooked and the mac salad had too much mayo. I was looking forward to some yummy food considering the $20 cost of the plate, but was let down & did not fully meet my expectations. If I were to come here again, I would get the pho or salad. I like to park at Longs in the covered area and catch the escalator upstairs to the "downtown" part of the mall. Catching another escalator up to the food court (Nehu Market), where the Consolidated Theater is (above Hallmark), I saw Diem 99 Cafe. That's a familiar name... they used to be at 99 Ranch in Mapunapuna! I ordered Summer Rolls from the nice young man at the counter. He gave me a buzzer that would ring when my food would be ready for pick up. I asked about the photo of the Super Rolls. He said they're a set of 16 pieces. I'll have to return and get a platter of the Super Rolls for the next potluck! Those sound and look delicious! The Rolls seem to be a combination of Summer and Spring Rolls. The summer roll is wrapped around a spring roll... Anyway, the Summer Rolls that I ordered were refreshing and just right! Both ends were "open"... not folded over... so I had to be careful to not let the contents (noodles, fresh veggies, and shrimp) squeeze out! The sauce was thick and yummy! For Food Court food I give this 4 Stars. Running errands on a Saturday morning with a friend this was a stop requested by her as she wanted Pho for breakfast. I believe it's relatively new to this court and was actually the only business other than Cinnabon that was open for business at 10:30. The others opened shortly thereafter but since this was our destination anyway I was just thrilled not to have to venture elsewhere. I ordered the Bbq Pork Bahn Mi and a Thai Iced Tea. Never have had the Thai iced tea I asked what it was. Man told me just like the Thai iced coffee but instead was made with Thai Tea and evaporated milk. I'm a big fan of their pho and spring rolls when they first opened many moons ago at 99 Ranch in Māpunapuna. I'm elated they opened a second location at Pearlridge Wai Makai Food Court. I craved for Bun Bo Hue. Courteous young, male worker thought it's still listed under local favorites on the menu. He was very considerate and said, "I will check with the cooks in the back." He returned and informed me, "Sorry, they stopped making Bun Bo Hue at this location because not much people were buying it." I said, "Don't worry. May I please order sliced beef pho combo meal with a medium ginger ale and a side order of summer rolls?" He rung in beef pho combo meal, asked me if I want my drink now or later?" I told him, "I will take it now." Then he forgot about summer rolls so I returned to the counter and let him know. He apologized and kindly rung in the order for summer rolls. Sliced beef pho with 2 spring rolls and choice of medium fountain drink $17: Loved the homemade, clean tasting broth cooked for 24 hours. Veggies, a hybrid lemon lime, chili oil, hoisin, and hot sauce worth savoring and consuming on a cloudy, cooler Sunday. I must've counted at least fifteen lifts of each single sliced beef that appeared on my chopsticks. Very generous! One long spring roll cut into two pieces dipped in sweet chili sauce was very tasty. Ginger ale came in handy to cool down my palate. Four summer rolls $9.75 were fresh and yummy when dipped in peanut sauce. There are options on menu for vegetarian meals, banh mi plus combos, pho ala carte and combos, mini and regular size plates, and party platters. If you're in the mood for Bun Bo Hue on O'ahu, I highly recommend going to Chinatown and dine in at a four-star or five-star Vietnamese restaurant. read more

I love love pho and I crave it all the time even when it's blazing hot weather. My normal pho spot shut down and I remember seeing this place in the food court. I ordered the beef pho combo which comes with 2 pieces of spring roll and a drink. When I got my food, I liked how they put the meat in the broth already while the soup is still hot. The broth is soooo good and their spring rolls are bomb too. For $17, you get a whole meal side and drink! What a steal. Anyways, after my first time there I've come back probably about 10 more times. I love this place and I think this is going to be my new spot for pho! read more

Being that this is in the food court, Diem 99 Cafe is surprisingly pretty good. They are located in the food court in Pearlridge by the movie theater side. They have a variety of items on their menu but I tend to go for the same dishes. I really like their popular super roll which is chicken spring roll inside a summer roll. I love this because you get the best of both worlds! It's also very filling. I've tried a few of there other dishes such as the vermicelli with lemongrass chicken and spring rolls and recently tried their stuffed tofu. Honestly both were good. I have yet to try their pho and bahn mis which is next on my list. I also recommend getting their taro tapioca if you want a little something sweet after your meal. They charge you 3% to use a credit card and don't tell you. This is bad business. There should be a sign posted stating their policy, then the customer can decide how they want to pay. They packaged the pho so nice with the soup separate from the noodles and veggies and also had a hot sauce, plum sauce and chili oil. i asked them to stick the meat in the soup so it would be cooked well by the time i got home.
