    Pork Loin Katsu Curry
    Teven H.

Eating at Koromo was one of those rare instances where the food is so remarkable that you find yourself continuing to eat long after you are full. I ordered the pork loin katsu and was initially concerned that the meat might be overcooked; however, it was prepared to absolute perfection. The breading was remarkably crispy and flavorful, the rice was perfectly sticky, and the curry sauce was outstanding--truly a 10/10 dish. It provides a calm, quiet atmosphere complemented by high-quality, solid dishware. The exceptional environment was matched only by our waitress, who provided stellar service. Because my mother had never tried Japanese curry before, our waitress took the time to guide her through the options. The food arrived promptly, and she remained highly attentive throughout our entire meal.

Had a BOGO 50% coupon and was hungry for Tonkatsu so I made reservations. Arrived at 5pm and was promptly greeted and seated. Surprised there was another party already there. Place was filled by 5:30 or so. Go early is you done want to wait. Servers were great. Very attentive and helpful. They wanted to be sure we understood what the two salad dressings and two tonkatsu sauces were. They checked on us several times during our meal. I requested no onions in my miso soup. When it arrived there were onions. I was just about to pick them out when she rushed over, apologizing for forgetting, took my soup and brought back a fresh bowl with no green onions. Our drinks came quickly (hubby's was Orion, mine Toki whisky in the rocks) and both were great. The plate with pickled cabbage, kimchee, kimchee takuwan also came quickly. I LOVE their kimchee takuwan - so delicious! Sadly, no refills... We both ordered the 190gm pork loin tonkatsu because it had a bit of fat and is more juicy. It came quickly, too. The cabbage was plentiful (and refillable), the pork was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and juicy. Rice was great. Overall it was a great dinner, reasonable, too with the BOGO 50% on the second entree.

Food is fresh. Service is friendly. Inside is nice and quiet. I'd come here for a good lunch. The sauces are tasty and match the food perfectly.

We walked in for an early dinner and were seated right away. The servers were very nice. We got the chicken katsu, pork loin see, and pork fillet katsu set. The katsu is very crispy and delicious. The miso soup is good. The cabbage salad and pickled vegetables are refillable. We were very full after. I love that there is a katsu place in Pearl City so it's convenient for those who don't always want to go to town. And it tastes good!

Don't think this place is subpar because it's in a mall. This place is delicious and the servers were wonderful! You get to grind your own sesame paste while you wait for your food. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The pieces were huge! Our server even offered us extra cabbage for our leftovers and extra of the delicious dressing! It's pretty small but you don't feel smushed which is nice!

Come for the pork loin curry. Place is pretty pricey and this feels like the best value. Pork is fatty. Curry is spicy. And you get unlimited cabbage. Teishoku was fine but the side veges weren't too good so might as well get curry instead

My nephew introduced me to Koromo for their delicious Tonkatsu. The Tonkatsu here at Koromo is crunchy and juicy. It comes with rice and cabbage. The service was mediocre and considering the prices are on the high end.

First time for me eating here. My son, his wife and my grandson wanted us to join them for dinner. I had the Pork katsu with choke cabbage. And btw Free refill oncabbage. Overpriced for one thing. 8oz what you see with the cabbage - Kim chi and miso soup is $32.00. I think little overpriced. 4 adults with a coupon of 50% off second meal. $125.00 total Oh and 1 drink which was $11.00 So again if you want to spend $$& on what I feel you can get elsewhere for half that cost. Then Koromo is for you. I think this is the first and last time for me. Food taste the same as L & L .

We walked in around 430pm on a weekday and were seated right away. I decided I wanted to eat here for my birthday and they didn't disappoint! The ambience is cozy and small but not uncomfortable by any means. The server/bartender was very efficient and friendly. You could tell he was working hard running around everywhere. We were joking with him that he was doing everything! I really enjoyed the ebi fry and Katsu. I actually enjoyed the Ebi Fry more than the Katsu with that tartar sauce! Love the different Katsu sauce and dressings they provide with the shredded cabbage. The quality of rice was also pretty good! We ordered the Kushi Katsu veggies but I think I will pass on that next time. For some reason, it tasted way greasier than the Katsu and ebi fry. The chicken and Negi Kushi Katsu was so good, though! I'll be back again, enjoyed coming here. I believe they take reservations which I would recommend because it started getting packed right around 530pm.

I really enjoy this place for a comforting meal! The two times I came here it was pretty early so didn't have to wait for a table. For my most recent visit, I ordered the ebi fry and pork loin katsu. Both the ebi fry and pork loin were crispy yet moist on the inside. I also like it with the sauce that you get to make by grinding the sesame seeds. The cabbage with the dressing is a nice addition for some freshness! We also ordered some kushi-katsu on the side such as zucchini, Maui onion, soft shell crab and a beef and chicken one. They were all pretty good but a bit pricey for one stick each. Overall, a filling meal with some leftovers if you order kushi-katsu in addition to your entree. Service was good and food comes out pretty fast. I do recommend Koromo for a nice meal out in the Aiea/Pearlridge area!

Lunch special curry with chicken & oysters

Been here 2 times and both times have enjoyed the food and service. The first time was during their happy hour so I tried a lot of the kushi katsu items. Most recent was during lunch time so I tried their lunch menu. I ordered the lunch special of curry w/ chicken & either 1 piece shrimp or 2 pieces of oyster. I ordered the oyster this time. The portion size was good for me since I wasn't super hungry but if you are hungry I recommend getting the regular size. I also ordered the shishito pepper kushikatsu which was ok. Expensive for the price. My meal did come with cabbage salad, there are 2 dressings. Our server gave us more cabbage too. My husband got the ebi curry and he really enjoyed it. The curry has a little bit of a kick but we loved it. The shrimp was better than the oysters. My in-laws really enjoyed their meal and were very happy to try this place.

Good food but very slow service. It took about 30 min from ordering to being served food. Be prepared to wait if you come during rush hour.

    Kristen U.

This place can get crowded, and the wait time can be long, but it's definitely worth it. The all-you-can-eat cabbage is ono, and the dressing goes perfectly with it. I usually substitute the cabbage for rice, and it never disappoints. You also get to pound your own sesame seeds for the katsu sauce, which makes the meal an experience in itself. The staff is courteous and keeps everything running smoothly.

I believe it's garlic miso or sesame ginger.

Is everyone in the party required to have vaccine? Even to eat outside?

Yes, you need to show your vaccine card or negative test like all restrauants

Where do you go for curbside pickup?

They have pretty cool merch here as well. Lots of space inside and it's clean and well-organized. Came over to meet up with some friends and they had already ordered some dishes to share. Also had a jug/pitcher of something light, although I can't remember what it was. Tasted just fine. Ordered the following: - Beef tacos - 5/10: shredded beef on a corner tortilla. A little overseasoned I thought. And cheddar cheese should not go on tacos. - Katsu chair siu - 5/10: Normally you'd get this traditional dish in pork or chicken. But they used char siu here. Wasn't working for me. - Fries with char siu on top - 4/10: meh. Char siu and fries don't go well with each other, especially when you drizzle teriyaki-type sauce on top. Too sweet that there's a bit of an imbalance in flavor. They also had open mic karaoke here. Crowd was kinda dead, so we tried to liven them up with a familiar country tune. Didn't work. Oh well. It's mid-week and we can't sing, so... Anyway, this isn't a bad spot to grab some brews and a few things to munch on. Onto the next.

But our second time was a mellow Wednesday for lunch and while the timing was better (still not synced), the food was either meh or completely shameful. Yes, shameful! Wife got the Caesar salad with char siu chicken katsu. The chicken was ono but the salad was lazy. Basic greens with a low-quality bottled sauce squeezed on top. No wonder it came out five minutes before mine. I got the fish tacos with tots (extra $2), and this dish was the most egregious rip off I've ever seen in a restaurant. No wonder the server dropped it and ran. For $18, I got three street taco-sized flour tortillas, goopy mayo-laden "slaw", and pico with a teeny tiny piece of fish on top. See the pics! Smaller than my thumb. Barely two tater tots in size. And because it was plopped into mayo slaw, it was soggy on arrival. The fish was also suspiciously fishy tasting. I debated eating it. I ended up making one taco with all the fish and a potato taco with some tots before finally giving up. I know things are tough for restaurants right now. But this was ridiculous. I paid and left and called it a lesson learned. I'll likely stick to the Pucks Alley location from now on. Still some pride in what they serve there.
