This place was delicious!!! I loved every dish that we ordered. The adobo fried rice omelette was the best! Ube waffles + side of garlic chicken!!! best meal of our trip!! 10/10

Hole in da wall goodness right here. Located along kam highway passing the stadium and Dixie grill but immediately before 711 prior to pearlridge. They have a small gravel parking lot and some outdoor seating as well. Always pass this diner in traffic to and from work. Had a day off and fiance suggested we try here for breakfast. We didnt sit in but chose to take it home. Something we need to do again because the food was so ono! They have written specials and a wide range menu from breakfast, bunch, and lunch. We came on a Friday morning and service was quick! We walked up to the window and ordered right away. Had the strawberry guava sweet bread French toast, ube waffles and fried chicken, cornbeef patty loco moco, cheeseburger and side of fries. Brah. Everything was good! Ive never had this spin of strawberry Guava sweet bread French toast before, also topped with fresh strawberries! Ube waffles was ono! But since it was in the container on our drive home. The waffles became a bit soggy since there was no air circulation, the flavor and fried chicken was on point though! Their spin on the loco moco is one you have to try for a fulfilling and tasty experience. Fries were so crispy and fresh! Just needed to add a pinch of salt. Cheeseburger was pretty good too. Our order took no longer than 15-20 min. Cant wait to come back to try more food!

Walk up window makes it easy and fast to order. Seating in/out, it's up to you. Random fact: they have ice coffee. Staff is nice, food is plenty and quick

I've heard so many great things about 49er restaurants and I have attempted to come on many occasions, but the parking always threw me off. Today was not that day. They have a small lot at the back off the main road with free parking which is always a plus. This no frills diner greets you with a friendly face, easy order options and solid grindz. Prices are also so reasonable which blows my mind. I got an egg cheeseburger, which was good but the homemade patty could've used a little kick. My macaroni salad was a solid portion and also very simple and even better with a touch of salt. My friend got the pancakes which she loved and the breakfast sausages hit the spot. It feels like your friendly neighborhood diner to roll into and i love the backyard seating I'll definitely return when in the area to try some other items off the menu.

Food was overall good. The building itself looks a little run down but don't let that scare you from trying it. Bacon was really good, a bit salty but I think it added to the overall flavor. Had the ube waffles and they were awesome. Worth a try if you're touring the area and never been. Had been recommended to come by some locals.

Super good garlic chicken It comes with a salad with amazing Asian salad dressing. We also got the Loco Moco and there was nothing wrong with it and it was as good as it could be, but we were just trying it for the 1st time to try it. It's not something we would normally order and would probably not get again. I would eat that chicken all day!

Opened in 1947, yes, 1947! Forty Niner restaurant has been serving up amazing local food. Their plate lunch is in know island wide. But for me it's their breakfast! The Paniolu breakfast (Hawaiian cowboy) 10oz big island grass fed ribeye with 3 large eggs over fried rice SLAMS! Another standout is the corned beef hash and eggs. Simple potatoes and corned beef, cooked to perfection. Crispy outside the soft in the middle. Paired the ketchup is another home run! Service is always impeccable. Since Covid changed dine in policy where you have to our outside then find a seat. Love this place

This is an old time restaurant and favorite that we used to go to with my parents and now with our children and grand children. They still haven't changed the quality of the food with old time favorites and good friendly service and family feeling. Me and my wife had the Teriyaki sandwich and the regular size Saimin combo which was delicious and the broth was tasty and the teriyaki beef was very tender and tasty. Our grand daughter had the regular Saimin and hamburger combo and she said it was very good and ate everything. Parking is unpaved and just dirt parking lot all the until you enter the outside seating area, it would be a little difficult if you had a walker or wheelchair because of the unevenness, but not impossible to try the food at this great old time restaurant. You can get a seat and scan the QR code and place your order and they will bring your order to the table or call out your name to give you your order. The waitress was very nice you can order water from her or buy bottle water and she also cleans the table once the customers leave. They have one restroom between the outside & inside dining room and it is one for men or woman. Been awhile eating here and looking forward to trying other old time favorite that they serve.

A classic Hawai'i institution that hasn't lost its touch! Friendly, efficient service combined with delicious Hawaiian style soul food hits the spot every time!

First off let me just say that my pictures are off! I was probably hungry. The bento was very satisfying! The quality of the proteins was very good. Everything was freshly made. Beef cutlet was interesting but not what we expected. It was thin sliced beef in gravy. It was yummy but not fried and breaded. Spaghetti Mac salad was kinda tasteless. I would go back again. Price was very reasonable.

We used to pass this restaurant and they always had a long line outside. We did an order through yelp because we were anticipating it would be busy. When we got to the parking lot, it was pretty busy, there were people waiting outside. We decided to wait in the car in the parking lot. I kept looking at the notifications on yelp but it was more than 25 minutes, almost 30. My Husband decided to go in and check on the order and it was there, waiting. Maybe I shouldn't order through yelp anymore. After we got our order, they still didn't update the app after we had already picked up our food. My husband tried the smoked meat breakfast plate with over easy eggs, and I had the kalua pork with lomi salmon with scrambled eggs. Both plates were upgraded with fried rice. The portions are a lot.

Can you say "yolkdance"? It's always about the egg!! Forty Niner Restaurant is one of the best lokal comfort food places where you know "mom & pop" created their menu with love, aloha, and mahalo /grateful heart...their only goal is to nourish their Ohanas ... this is what lokal food is about!! When the daily questions hit -"eh mom & pop, what we gon kau kau"?? The answer is: Forty Niner - then "tro dem shakas" #gravyallover #kaukau #lokalstyle

49er diner has been a pleasant surprise on our trip to Oahu. We've been to tons of diners and drive ins, this place feels just as much of a local spot as you can get. Prices are fair and foods great. Ordered (1x) "49er breakfast" Portuguese sausage, 2 eggs, a fried rice plate and (1x) of the Mac nut pancakes. Split the plates with the wife and I and the total was ~$21.00. Everything was amazing, food super filling, and staff was friendly. Ordered via the app, they have QR codes on the tables for easy service.

I've only gone bowling there a handful of times, but I've gone for the food more times than I can count. Most of the time, we order takeout and eat at home. It's nice inside, but it can get crowded, so takeout is usually our go-to. My boyfriend got the tasty chicken and kalbi mixed plate, and I got the tasty chicken and furikake ahi. If you go there, you have to try the tasty chicken. The portions are huge! At first, I wondered why they didn't fully close my plate, but it was packed so full that it could barely close! The portions overall are massive. Two mixed plates and a side of garlic fries turned into dinner plus two extra meals. The tossed salad was good, and even as someone who's picky about mac salad, I thought theirs was really good. The garlic fries were also crisp to perfection. I'm also obsessed with their strawberry and lemon crunch cakes. They're soft with the perfect amount of toffee crunch. I've brought them to work a few times, and they've always been a crowd favorite. This place is comfort food for us. Huge portions, consistently good food, and a spot that keeps us coming back!

Ordered by phone the day prior, and just gave them my phone number as usual (it's how they identify you when you pick up, with no worries about duplicate or misspelled names.). Every time I've ordered in advance, our order has always been packed neatly and ready in a box for takeout. (My brother had brought a box just in case, and smoothly offered it to their staff for someone else's future order.) The restaurant has several tables for dining in, and markings on the floor for those waiting in line. It's brightly lit and clean as well. I appreciate their staff, food, service, and generous servings. They make us look so good with our potluck contributions! So what did we order? Half chicken katsu, half chicken wings, a small platter ($45 for the small pan, but picture a much loaded tray) - it's a great value deal! It was the same order our cousins loved when we brought it on Christmas Day (they especially love the wings, but we love the katsu-so this year we asked for half-half instead of all katsu, and they were so happy, ha ha!) Oh, and they give you a nice big container of yummy katsu sauce;)! I like their panko and cooking method, as whatever they do, the chicken is nice and crisp, and tasty - with, or without the sauce, actually. First time that I actually tried the wings, as I'm not a wing person. (I didn't even try it at Christmas, lol.). But, it was nice and crisp, lightly seasoned, and the wings had lots of meat on them. Easy finger food, and they were not dripping in oil, either, which I appreciated! Also ordered (for the first time) a small platter of chicken chow mein (a little over $30?). It was based on a good recommendation by an admittedly biased family member of the owners, and we were pleasantly surprised! The small pan was covered in wrap and then foil, because the mound of noodles was seriously kinda big! My brother was like, quick, go tell mom to come look before we open it (as she's picky, so it's hard to impress her). It was filled with lots of veggies (sliced carrots, cabbage, onions, etc) and bbq chicken pieces, tossed with great flavor (I want to say it was a nice sauce, but this wasn't a wet noodle dish.). My dad added Chinese mustard soy sauce, but my mom and I thought it was perfect the way it was. Oh, don't laugh, we're only a family of four, so yes, we ate two meals - lunch and dinner - and still packed a ton of leftovers! As we watched the game, we commented to each other what great choices we had made. (We also had sushi trays and other treats, and of course, chips, and my brother's dip. My brother said we may not have had a favorite team to cheer on today, but it was a great excuse for a party, ha ha!) I know we're doing a repeat for our next occasion, for sure! We'll gradually try some of their other foods, and it's farther away than we'd like to drive (I know, it's not that far, but we live on the other side, ok?). My brother agrees it's worth the drive - it's across Aloha Stadium and literally in the same spot as Ice Palace; and we saw quite the line at the Taco Bell drive through when we were looking for parking;). He also compared it to the cost and serving size of what we ordered on New Year's, from a restaurant much closer to where we live. Hands down, it was not even a close comparison, his emphasis added. So go here, it's perfect for family dinners and potlucks and I hope you agree with my assessment;)! Oops, I didn't take any pictures, aiya!!!

Super disappointed with the crazy service tonight…read more I placed an order outside using the kiosk for just a chicken katsu special at 5:52 PM since it was crowded inside and ended up waiting 45 minutes for that one plate. It wasn't just the waiting, it was the service and lack of communication that pushed it over. After placing my order, I entered the restaurant and waited on the side since there wasn't a place to sit and wait. The worker who was stationed at the front soon came back and asked "How can I help you?" and I mentioned that I ordered on the kiosk outside and she walked away without saying anything. Around 10 minutes in I noticed the worker mentioning to every person in line only after they tried to order that the wait would be 30 minutes for anything on the grill since they had a big order. The questions that came to mind every time a person attempted to order was "why wouldn't she tell them that they would have to wait 30 minutes from the beginning before they even tried to order so they could reevaluate if their orders needed the grill?" And "what items are not on the grill?" Every person in line would get frustrated as she wouldn't even show what items didn't need the grill.. They would say "Okay I want to order this instead" and she would keep saying "that's on the grill so you have to wait 30 minutes." Like they were supposed to know.. Who wouldn't get frustrated? Time went on and I found myself still waiting at 6:30 PM. When i heard her mentioning the chicken katsu wouldn't take long since it's not on the grill. No update, just me sitting on those high chairs obviously waiting for my order. It's worse because you don't get a buzzer for using the kiosk. I decided to ask about my order but still had to wait in line to talk to that same worker. When it was eventually my turn, I said "I wanted to check on my order" and showed her a picture of the kiosk with the order number because the kiosk didn't print a receipt for me and rudely responded with "Your order's already ready" and just handed it to me.. Excuse me? No one even bothered to tell me it was ready and she spoke to me like I was supposed to know it was ready. How long was it ready that I was wasting my time waiting there? Also, please fix the option on the kiosk when you select the chicken katsu; it should have the option or be defaulted with "White rice & mac salad" like your app. The kiosk is misleading and doesn't say you don't need to select "all rice" or the other up-charge options. So when she gave it to me and she said all rice I explained to her that I thought it was making me choose an option and she got defensive and said "No it doesn't." She eventually took it to the back to put mac salad then returned and rudely told me "Next time just don't select an option." Wow. It was not my fault that no one called me to tell me my order was ready. It was not my fault there was a flood of orders during dinner time. I like Oh My Grill but please do better with the customer service, especially with the person who's in charge at the front. I understand that it gets overwhelming when it's busy but the communication and customer service was just the worst. No one deserves to be treated like that especially when we come often. This was such a horrible experience.. Maybe won't come back for a while.

My family was in the area to shop over at Crafts Way and I found Fooki on Yelp as a nearby food option. It had something for everyone in our group of seven: 2 vegetarians, 1 vegan and 4 meat eaters. The restaurant had a divy vibe, cozy and welcoming. The service was very friendly and the server was incredibly knowledgable about their menu and how what made some of their dishes stand out from what's expected. The Li Hing Mui Sweet Potato Fries are a must! They totally reminded me of my childhood and the kind of fries I'd get at the amusement park back in Taiwan. Here's everything we ordered. Every single item was a hit! -stewed egg -stewed tofu -Majiang noodles -Lu Rou Fan -Grandpa Rolling Beef -Scallion Pancake -Fooki Bao -Tofu Bao -Li Hing Mui Sweet Potato Fries -Veggie Scallion Noodles -Fooki Bowl -BoomBoom Chicken If we ever find ourselves back in Aiea again, we will be stopping in!

First, the price was pretty high compared to the amount of food they served and the flavor of their menu. The pork rice bowl had way too much rice compared to the pork, and I think I only had half of the rice to eat with the pork on top. All the foods we ordered wasn't very flavorful either and they charged 3% for credit cards. The economy is tough right now so that may explain the card charge and the portion size but I don't think I'll be going to this place again. It was good to try but wasn't impressionable!

Had to meet a friend at the driving range, so I decided to try this place. I ordered a mini s&p…read morepork chop and chicken cake noodle. The area was tidy, but the tables were not clean to the touch. It was kind of gross. After ordering, I received a hand written number on a reused piece of paper. My order took over 20 minutes, which seemed a bit long for the type of food being served. I noticed there were a lot of people picking up food, as it was dinner time. It would have been nice to be told the wait is a little long right now, but that wasn't the reason for my poor review. The pork chops (mini) is 4 pc, with one scoop of rice and mac salad. The taste was average, it was served hot. The chicken cake noodle was a disaster. It was so bad, I threw it away. There was no taste, and the noodles were soggy because a gel of flavorless mucus was soaking the noodles. The chicken didn't taste like it was even seasoned with the basic salt and pepper. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, but their taste was ruined by the gross flavorless "gravy." The food looked great, but I was only able to eat the pork chop plate. I don't like to waste food, but I also won't force myself to eat terrible food... and the chicken cake noodle was terrible.
