My Curry Katsu chicken was greattt! Service was fast and the staff know their customers by name. My first time ever and it was amazing. I'll return when family says.

Loved the oxtail broth. Service was good for it being crowded. Ambience is very small but good

First time eating at Kapiolani Coffee Shop in a long time, and it did not disappoint. The place has such a local, laid-back ambiance that really gives you that classic Hawaii comfort feel. We came in for a family breakfast this morning and were seated right away, which was a great start. The service was super quick -- our food came out in less than 10 minutes after ordering, which was impressive, especially during breakfast hours. Everything felt smooth, easy, and welcoming. Definitely a solid spot if you're looking for a relaxed, local-style breakfast experience.

Thursday special, pork guisantes! Very flavorful and the portions size is great! The people that work there are very nice and friendly! This is one of my favorite places to get a good plate lunch anytime of the week

Had breakfast to day at Kapiolani Coffee Shop. The service was excellent. I ordered bacon and egg with toast. . Bacon medium and eggs over easy. The cook did it perfectly. The toast was the exception. it was under done. Otherwise a perfect meal. Enjoy

My husband had the oxtail soup, I had chicken katsu with fried noodles and side order scoop rice. My husband always gets the soup. I have yet to find my go to meal there although I really did enjoy the noodles and the ladies were very nice.

First time here located in the Waimalu Shopping Center, was a hot Saturday afternoon 1:30 pm. Wanted a place to sit in a/c. comfort. Lots of places to eat in the center.Got seated & May was our server. We chose a Cheeseburger Deluxe , side of French fries & a Fried Saimin. May was friendly& had to come back a second time, cuz we couldn't decide. The food arrived in a timely manner& it was all so delicious! Sitting down in a cool restaurant, made the lunch really nice. Having May being very nice& her partner server, Jackie was a treat to have excellent customer service! The inside of the restaurant is simple, but clean Will return on our shopping trips ! Reasonable & good hearty food! Thank you!

I always come for the oxtail soup here. It's my very favorite place to get the Chinese style version! Simmered with star anise and tangerine peel, flavored heavily with Chinese parsley and peanuts. Shoyu and grated ginger provided on the side. Mostly order for takeout so I can head back into town before traffic builds up tho have eaten here in the dining room on occasion. Very old school; greasy spoon joint; very come as you are. On takeout I love how the counter person always packs my order so well. And always get extra grated ginger (well worth the slight upcharge). Order then walk over to Palama Market for a "few extras". Take out order always quick and ready when I return. Located in Waimalu Shopping Center strip mall sharing parking with many other eateries. Parking always full yet always someone leaving. Patience is a virtue. And good food which touches the soul is worth the small wait!

This place will always be a staple for myself and my family. The oxtail soup is still the best on the island. Yes it's close to $30, but the flavor is unmatched. Still cheaper to buy it than make it at home + labor. And for $8 to get a burger and some fries? Timeless classics. The burgers here are so simple and just bring you back to small kid time. I will always make the drive to come out here whenever I'm craving.

Delicious and perfectly warm soup for the rainy weather we have been having! Not a BYOB establishment. Family oriented environment. Would come here for family dinner again, not too loud

A staple for oxtail soup! I usually get the oxtail soup with rice, but I tried the saimin version and I loved it. There's ginger shoyu sauce for more flavor, but I usually add a ton of tabasco lol. The noodles weren't overcooked and the oxtail was so tender. Aunties serving us was great and the place was small and cozy. The parking lot can get super full though

Oxtail soup & 2 scoop white rice with a drizzle of soy sauce

Stopped in for a quick late lunch. Greeted promptly by server & ordered Oxtail soup (regular size) & the food was delivered quickly. Soup is always good, their recipe is consistent as to what it was back in the day at the old Kam Bowl coffee shop. I request to get the green onions on the side, just so Im able to enjoy the flavor of the broth. This is the place to go if you need a simple yet perfectly prepared oxtail soup. Straight to the point...yummy.

We were in the area and decided to go Kapiolani Coffee Shop (haven't been in years) for Breakfast. We got there around 9:30 and there was only one table open so we seated ourselves immediately. I ordered a regular sized ox-tail soup and my boyfriend ordered the adobo fried rice and the lechon kawali to share. We ordered our toodler just a pancake. Our food came so fast, I don't even think we waited 5 minutes. When I started on my ox-tail I noticed it was a little bland for me so ended up pouring half my ginger sauce in the bowl to give it more flavor- also the oxtails had so much fat that wasn't trimmed so I had to cut it off before I ate it. My toddlers pancake was cooked on the outside but the middle part was still raw. They could've probably let it cook for a minute more. The best dish was the lechon kawali. The pork skin was so airy & crispy but not hard. The meat and fat just melted in my mouth. It was soooo good. However, I think they only serve that on Fridays and Saturdays. I probably won't come back anytime soon but if I did, I'd definitely order the Lechon.

They add green onions, too but I asked for no green onions. Plenty of parsley for parsley fans. Ask for more ginger.

However, today we were waited on by Shannen, wow, she's really on top of her game! So personable and very willing to have the steak recooked for my friend, it came back just the way she wanted it! My 4 star review is based on my pancakes! They have been so great in the past, however, today they were pale and doughy, though the scrambled eggs and bacon were great! So, I decided to get the Haupia Strawberry Pie which was really good!! A layer of Haupia then a layer of Strawberry Cream underneath then the pie crust with slices of fresh strawberries on top. They have a Haupia Chocolate Pie too. It sounds good and I can bet it is good too. Service is friendly and fast even though it was crazy busy this Saturday morning. Ambiance is casual and comfortable looking even though we didn't get to eat here today. The original plan was to eat breakfast there and to buy a pie after to take home. It was crazy busy and decided just to get a famous pie for this time. We will try to come and eat here the next time. Plenty parking. But, I had to drive around and wait for a parking. Actually, not enough parking. Lol. We will be back another time. Support local businesses. So, they stay around for as long as possible for the future generations to enjoy too. Not just hear stories of the great food places of the past. That's gone. That's so sad. I live by Kahala Mall and that's not an excuse to not come here more often than not. Awesome famous pies and I am pretty sure the food is too.

I've only gone bowling there a handful of times, but I've gone for the food more times than I can count. Most of the time, we order takeout and eat at home. It's nice inside, but it can get crowded, so takeout is usually our go-to. My boyfriend got the tasty chicken and kalbi mixed plate, and I got the tasty chicken and furikake ahi. If you go there, you have to try the tasty chicken. The portions are huge! At first, I wondered why they didn't fully close my plate, but it was packed so full that it could barely close! The portions overall are massive. Two mixed plates and a side of garlic fries turned into dinner plus two extra meals. The tossed salad was good, and even as someone who's picky about mac salad, I thought theirs was really good. The garlic fries were also crisp to perfection. I'm also obsessed with their strawberry and lemon crunch cakes. They're soft with the perfect amount of toffee crunch. I've brought them to work a few times, and they've always been a crowd favorite. This place is comfort food for us. Huge portions, consistently good food, and a spot that keeps us coming back!

Super disappointed with the crazy service tonight…read more I placed an order outside using the kiosk for just a chicken katsu special at 5:52 PM since it was crowded inside and ended up waiting 45 minutes for that one plate. It wasn't just the waiting, it was the service and lack of communication that pushed it over. After placing my order, I entered the restaurant and waited on the side since there wasn't a place to sit and wait. The worker who was stationed at the front soon came back and asked "How can I help you?" and I mentioned that I ordered on the kiosk outside and she walked away without saying anything. Around 10 minutes in I noticed the worker mentioning to every person in line only after they tried to order that the wait would be 30 minutes for anything on the grill since they had a big order. The questions that came to mind every time a person attempted to order was "why wouldn't she tell them that they would have to wait 30 minutes from the beginning before they even tried to order so they could reevaluate if their orders needed the grill?" And "what items are not on the grill?" Every person in line would get frustrated as she wouldn't even show what items didn't need the grill.. They would say "Okay I want to order this instead" and she would keep saying "that's on the grill so you have to wait 30 minutes." Like they were supposed to know.. Who wouldn't get frustrated? Time went on and I found myself still waiting at 6:30 PM. When i heard her mentioning the chicken katsu wouldn't take long since it's not on the grill. No update, just me sitting on those high chairs obviously waiting for my order. It's worse because you don't get a buzzer for using the kiosk. I decided to ask about my order but still had to wait in line to talk to that same worker. When it was eventually my turn, I said "I wanted to check on my order" and showed her a picture of the kiosk with the order number because the kiosk didn't print a receipt for me and rudely responded with "Your order's already ready" and just handed it to me.. Excuse me? No one even bothered to tell me it was ready and she spoke to me like I was supposed to know it was ready. How long was it ready that I was wasting my time waiting there? Also, please fix the option on the kiosk when you select the chicken katsu; it should have the option or be defaulted with "White rice & mac salad" like your app. The kiosk is misleading and doesn't say you don't need to select "all rice" or the other up-charge options. So when she gave it to me and she said all rice I explained to her that I thought it was making me choose an option and she got defensive and said "No it doesn't." She eventually took it to the back to put mac salad then returned and rudely told me "Next time just don't select an option." Wow. It was not my fault that no one called me to tell me my order was ready. It was not my fault there was a flood of orders during dinner time. I like Oh My Grill but please do better with the customer service, especially with the person who's in charge at the front. I understand that it gets overwhelming when it's busy but the communication and customer service was just the worst. No one deserves to be treated like that especially when we come often. This was such a horrible experience.. Maybe won't come back for a while.

Note: This is a cashless establishment so be sure to bring a card. You go up to the cashier to order, pay, sit down, and they bring your order to tour table. If you don't purchase a drink, cold water that you pour yourself into small paper cups is available. Our food was served quickly since no one else was in the restaurant. (We were early, just after 5pm). The stew is served in a bowl on a plate that has your rice and salad. You can get white or brown rice, mac, potato, or green salad. They give you both a fork and a spoon because you'll want to scoop up the delicious gravy. P&W's white rice is a little dry (IMO) so dipping it into the gravy works really well. The short ribs are fork tender, you don't need a knife. Not sure if they are always boneless but today's were and they were 3/4" thick ribs, not the thinner Kalbi type. You get a decent amount of meat, along with two or three perfectly cooked potato pieces and carrot slices (not mushy), and bits of celery. All are good. Mac salad was ok. If you eat all the mac and two scoops rice with the stew it's good sized meal. The stew is 4.5 stars. Rice and mac 3.5. I hardly eat beef stew at restaurants, but will make an exception when it's made with short ribs!
