    so much food good price

Shaka Ramen was good. The garlic black ramen was the highlight, and I'd definitely recommend it. The broth was great. It came out hot, had a lot of flavor, and was powerful without being too salty or too rich. The black garlic gave it a deep flavor, though it did get slightly bitter toward the end, which I think is just part of the blackened garlic style. The ramen itself had good taste and texture. The egg was pretty typical, but solid. The pork was great. There was one piece, and it was super soft. It was not heavily soy-flavored, which I actually liked even though I usually like the soy flavor The big surprise was how good the sides were. The fried rice was excellent. It had good flavor, was very moist without being soggy, and had a nice smoky flavor with enough salt and egg. There was even pork in the fried rice, which made it feel more complete. With the naruto and everything else mixed in, it was really good. The gyoza was probably frozen, but I can't really complain. It was a good price, tasted fine, and came with both shoyu and gyoza sauce. Service was also very fast and attentive. Overall, Shaka Ramen was great value for the price and good quality

I'm enjoying the ownership shakeup or whatever is going on here. this place must've been through 4-5 changes. Yet, it still maintains the same menu. But, this time, the menu got better. instead of focusing on ramen, they are focusing on the Noodle. Hence the name change from SHAKE RAMEN to SHAKA NOODLE! You can still get Ramen... In addition, they have Yakisoba.. They also i have Malaysian Laksa... Don't forget about Chinese... Crispy Noodle OK?! Yes, it is.... the menu has gotten "for-the-better."

I HAVE HAD MANY RAMENS, AND NOT A SINGLE ONE IS EVEN CLOSE TO THE PERFECTION THIS PLACE IS! The moment I took a bite, the explosion of flavor came! It was so delicious. The udon noodles were cooked so perfect. Chewy, soft, long, and delicious! The gyoza could have been pan fried just a tad longer, they did not have much of a crisp to them, but the flavor was spot on! The ramen had al dente noodles that were very good with the perfect texture and flavor. Adding soy sauce may the bite perfect. The chicken was fried to perfect with the most crunchy crisp on the outside, and perfect tenderness on the inside. Service was excellent and speedy, and the building was very clean and decorative! I cannot wait to return! 10/10!

This place was top five for me in the 808. It was empty on a Saturday night, and then started filling up after 7:30pm. The bathroom is outside the front door to the back of the restaurant- a door leading to the kitchen, then a sharp left to the potty. I had the chicken katsu ramen and it was gigantic filled with broth, bamboo, bok Choy, corn, and seaweed. The service was great and I would return to try more items.

Read the reviews, and I know it's been around for several years, but never tried this place until I decided to ask my friends to go since we were around the area. Black garlic ramen - 4.5 stars. The charsiu is unique because it has a smoky taste on the sides, and they give thick slices. Huge servings of every item we ordered. The soup was pretty good, but it didn't have a strong black garlic taste compared to other ramen restaurants. My friends ordered the oxtail and shrimp ramen, and lots of oxtail as well as large shrimp on top of the ramen. They loved the soup. The chicken katsu was huge and flavorful, but a little on the oily side. Service - 5 stars - service was great. Server was friendly and attentive. Parking - lots of parking, but crowded. I did not see a sign to scan the QR code for the parking as we drove in, and turned right into the front of the restaurant, as other yelpers mentioned, so not sure where it is, but at least nothing happened to my car.

Located next to youngs kalbi in the strip mall across Mcdonalds. Parking is odd because it looks like free parking but you have to scan this QR code and enter your license plate to me its more bs. first 2 hours free then it $5... really wierd. Okay so anyways Shaka ramen is on the corner The insides is airconditioned and clean with around ten 4 people tables. Bathroom is outside around the back of the building. The menu (pic) is your typical ramen house fare ramen..curry rice dishes..fried rice...etc The presentation was awesome!! Aestethics was so nice it looked fake. Food was good with fare portions and affordable pricing. Staff was just one waitress for the whole dining room...she was all business but got the job done. If you ignore the tarded bs parking this place is a definetely great place no regrets here.

Noodles, katsu and char siu so thick, you won't need to eat anything else! Located conveniently in Aiea off of Moanalua Rd, they offer the best broth you could ask for in a ramen. We had tan tan ramen that hit just the right bit of spicy. The tonkatsu ramen was pork centered and delicious. Their servings are plentiful and side orders like gyoza are also wonderful. Ambiance is bright and fresh. If you're in Aiea, you've got to go here for ramen.

My husband is into a ramen crave lately. Maybe he's pregnant. Lol... So on yelp he saw this place in Aiea use to be Daiichi ramen. The server was friendly and to check up on us asking if we ok. I ordered the Zaru udon and my husband ordered Wakame ramen. We also had side gyoza. My udon was alot and the dipping sauce was good. My husband wakame ramen was good soup base he said the soup base wasnt what he expected. If you aiea check them out. Close to Youngs kalbi lower part from aiea shopping ctr.

Shaka Ramen was my choice for lunch. Had a craving for noodles. Decided to try Shaka. The dinning area is very spacious. The service was excellent. Our server was cordial and friendly. When I paid she gave my wife and I a senior discount. I ordered the Wakame Ramen. The broth had a strong wakame taste. YES wakame is seaweed. I thought it was stronger in flavor the other ramen shop's.

Clean neighborhood ramen joint. If you're in Aiea and you want a quick bite; this is a good place to start. Don't let the simplicity of the ramen fool you; it was flavorful. Hubby liked the fried rice and mochiko chicken. Service was good. Like I said- no fireworks but a nice place to grab a hot bowl of ramen or curry and other fried delectables.

    Jason M.

First time for my wife and I, tried the takoyaki and mochiko chicken curry with fried rice! Wife got the mapo tofu on crispy noodles and chicken skewers. Takoyaki came out and I thought was gonna be piping hot...IT WASNT! but it was redone for us and was way better! The portions are huge and I didn't make a dent in my plate. Service was fast and friendly. The ambiance has loud thumps from time to time because they have a gym above this restaurant! lol so don't be startled like I was as I thought someone was coming thur the roof!

Had some family visiting and took them here for dinner. We were a group of 7, so I tried to call…read moreand make reservations. However, they told me they don't take reservations and to just walk in. Well, we got there and had to wait 58 minutes before we got seated. Pro tip: just have them put you down on the list. Don't listen about not taking reservations for large parties. I found out after that a group of 8 got reservations for 6:30 so I was quite unhappy about that. It didn't help that there was a table with 3 people who were there since 3pm (it was already 7:58 at this point) who were still occupying the tables and the staff couldn't make them leave. They eventually moved them to another smaller table, but they could have done that sooner, just saying. Not the restaurant's complete fault, people can be extremely inconsiderate but there maybe should be a system for dealing with these types of situations. All they had were empty bottles, they were not ordering anything. Anyway, we finally got seated, and as expected, the food didn't disappoint. We got the Tasty Chicken (always a must), boneless kalbi (super tender and flavorful), loco moco (one of the best on the island) and oxtail soup (theirs is pretty solid). We also got pumpkin crunch, strawberry crunch, and cream cheese brownie. Everything was amazing as usual and they all said it was the best food they had on-island during their trip. The food was worth the wait, but, that wait could've truly been avoided. It's not somewhere you take a first date unless you are bowling because it is super loud. It is located in an out of the way, not really scenic spot. Parking can be a bear. But it remains to be one of those tried and true "local" spots that never fail to please. *Rating is solely for the food and reliability of the excellent flavors and quality of the food
