The best "hole in the wall"! Yes! It looks old and dirty. But the food is so good. I'm from Japan originally and this is just as good if not better than some places. The noodles were just right and the chyashu was so tender! It seems like a mama san/ papa san joint. The service was quick. Like I said, it seems a little run down, but it's worth it.

Haven't been here in ages so I don't remember if I liked their food! My daughter was with us and said the magic words..."This place has pretty good food". She ordered the Charsiu Ramen that includes 3 slices of charsiu pork, fishcake and green onions. Both my husband and I ordered the Wonton Ramen that includes wontons, 1 slice of charsiu pork, fishcake and green onions. They have a Three Item Combo if you order any Ramen Entree or Rice Bowl Entree, you can get a Mini Fried Rice and 4 pieces of Gyoza for $5.95...we ordered 2 Combos. The ramen and broth was good and I really enjoyed the charsiu so I think I'm going to order the Charsiu Ramen the next time to get 3 pieces. We liked the gyoza but as for the Pork Fried Rice...it was AWESOME! I love eating fried rice but just couldn't find a place that stood out...this one did! When I looked at it, it didn't look like it would have too much taste but looks are deceiving...It was sooooo tasty! Had leftover, so took it home and it was still tasty the next day. I came back to order just the Pork Fried Rice 2 more times after that...all in January 2026! It was tasty just like the first time! I'll be back for the charsiu and fried rice! The workers are nice and the food was served in a timely manner. This place is located in the Waimalu Shopping Center between Kapiolani Coffee Shop and Palama Market. This complex has lots of free parking but sometimes hard to find so grab the first open space.

Today I got to try the Spicy Seafood Champon Ramen with 4 Gyoza & Fried Rice Combo and it was very tasty. Also, the service was very friendly and helpful.

We love this shop. We've been coming here for so many years, but with kids and a stroller it does get hard to come and eat out because this place is a little tight and small inside so bringing strollers/wheelchairs would be a little difficult and uncomfortable. With that being said, there is usually one person taking orders and serving and ringing you up so it does make up for the place being small because they are able to get to each person without too much of a wait. Every single time you come in here the food is always consistent and that's what we love about it. Also their combos are great and well priced and you do get full. We usually always take home food, no matter what because with the 3 combos, it does feed you well. Rice, ramen gyoza. Or the curry. Yum. Inside is a bit rundown, but they've been here for so long. You can tell that they're one of the OG's in the block. The parking outside is plenty with so many other businesses in the area, but during rush hours lunch hours dinner hours it does get tight, but there is always parking with a little patience.

You can see the hair coming out from the left side of the mando

I like the food there but when I saw the hair coming out of the mando it kinda looks terible. I think they should be wearing hair nets as they prepare the food there.

Got the tantan ramen (spicy ramen) and it was ok! There was barely any spice. I honestly didn't really taste much. The noodles was perfectly cooked and the ground meat was good! The guy that took my order was so nice! I would like to come back and try the miso ramen! It's down a alley next to the burger place

OM GOD - After this evening's shocking experience "What could improve" ?!!! - Just about "EVERYTHING" !!!! I am a long time customer and over the years have touted the "outstanding and exceptionalnist" of this old-time RAMEN noodle restaurant especially in light of the booming popularity HERE and on U.S. Mainland - All over Japan and South East Asia. CHINA where "ramen" was originally invented and developed to such a high degree for centuries is still unmatched. Anyway enough history - I am overly concerned and frankly upset with what I just observed tonight after finishing my "Won Ton Ramen / Gyoza side-order" - As I was paying my BILL I happened to notice the main cook, and probably OWNER, dash to a portable AC unit that was situated near the front door entrance and with his bare hands pickup a sopping wet green hand towel that was just laying on the floor that had been soaking up all of the excess running water pouring from that AC unit. He then ran back to the stove area and dropped that filthy soaked green hand towel onto a large open pot that was used to replenish the boiling water that the other pots required as the cooking liquid slowly began to cook away. Ewwww I was "SHOCKED" and suddenly got sick to my stomach with the food I had just consumed from those same cooking liquids in those open pots. I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO EAT ANYTHING FROM "EZOGIKU" IN WAIMALU EVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!! I obviously have the extremely urgent obligation to also make a very "SERIOUS" complaint to the Hawaii State HEALTH Department first thing in the morning !!!!

Yelp needed a new menu. Love the combos but can never remember what the combos were. My favorite is the "special combos" but there were little photos of the menu showing those combos

I love this place! If I could, I'd eat here weekly. I usually get the garlic shrimp ramen but decided to try something different today. I got mochiko chicken with curry ramen. I highly recommend it. The lady was so sweet.

on a cold weekday the fam was craving some saimin. we decided to drop in to ezogiku. place was full of locals as usual but we got a table right away. we picked our meals and unks took our order right away. old school ambiance reminds me of small kid time. we decided to deviate from our normal orders and try something new on the menu. we went with saimins only and I tried a chicken vegetable just to see what that buggah tasted like. was definately different but I ate it all. flavorful chicken broth and alot of vegetables with pieces of chicken I tried different sauces. enjoyed exploring the menu. was a very inexpensive adventure.

The ramen was 3, plenty of broth and noodles (rest of the items you select). The spicy broth was good, not great but good. I liked the amount of noodles given, just seemed to be missing a flavor. The fried chicken was 2 if not less. It was bland and greasy, no crunch and the coating was thin. The sauce given did not help or make it worse. I liked the ramen idea, just not a fan of the overall flavors. Plenty of seating and a small group hanging out there. If you are new, they are helpful to assist in how everything works.

Located in Pearl Kai Shopping Center, Build Your Own Rmaen (BYOR) opened on December 26, 2018 offering create your own bowl of noodles. As a townie and not keen to fight traffic, I've bookmarked this business and finally made it here after 6 years. Late to the party but better than never... I was invited to celebrate a birthday with noodles and was asked to give suggestions near Pearl City area. I immediately jumped and mentioned BYOR, and used next door neighbor Island Glazed Donuts as an incentive. No further explanation needed so I took off 1/2 day from work to attend this get together. It was a right decision to come here for lunch as traffic from town was light and lots of parking as we arrived on a Wednesday. With many shared businesses in this lot, parking can get challenging here. The restaurant was fairly empty as I arrived at 1215pm and sat on a long table for our group of 5. They have picture menus so it's easy to follow the instructions to order. Interior was bright and welcoming with many signs of food pictures posted on the walls and as well on each table. Near the entrance are 2 long showcases of meats and vegetables. Signs advise you the price and there's also a laminated chart on the wall near the scale that calculates your cost as your bowl is dependent on the weight. You grab an empty basket and pair of tongs and you select what you want. For me, I chose head on shrimp, book tripe, beef tendon, fish ball with roe, squid, bamboo shoots, black fungus, fried tofu, pumpkin slices and king mushroom. You take your basket to the register to have it officially weighed where you also select your broth and type of starch. I was craving a curry broth but unfortunately that wasn't an option. I then took a leap of faith by trying the spicy sour cabbage broth. In addition to each of us getting our bowl of noodles, my sister also wanted to try their spring rolls. Perhaps because it wasn't busy our food came out quickly. Piping hot, our creations were nicely presented with toppings nicely arranged. We snapped away with our cameras and it was finally time to dig in. THE VERDICT: Overall, very impressed with the food quality and execution. Loved how tender the book tripe and beef tendon were. The head on shrimp were cooked until perfection - - juicy and lots of shrimp head fat. Yummo!!! My noodles had a great chew and bounce, however, I wasn't a real fan of the spicy sour cabbage broth. Kinda tasted like a tom yum koong but somewhat funky. I jazzed up my creation with their housemade satay sauce that was off the charts. Highly recommended. Service was above average as the staff came to check up on us and refilled our water cups. She even came to see if we had room for our complimentary Taiwanese style shave ice dessert that comes with ramen orders. This bowl was heavenly. So refreshing and cooled our palates down after a hot bowl of noodles. We enjoyed our first visit to BYOR and will be back again. I'll be sure to order another broth and perhaps sample other appetizers that got my attention. NOTE. You pay for your meal after you're done. My bowl was a whopping $35. For a party of 5 service charge of 18% was automatically tacked on to our bill. You also have the option of adding more gratuity in addition to the automatic service charge. 2026 #55

She ended up getting the seafood fried rice, which she really like but interesting enough the poached egg was in the dipping sauce, which was interesting and she enjoyed it a lot I ordered the curry Loco moco. I found that the curry had chunks of chicken in it. Hamburger patty, small but good size since it was a lot of food. The portion sizes are large and so we did have to take home our leftovers. Once we were seated I ordered the chicken katsu curry udon with the katsu on the side. It was pretty good. This is my go to order here. The portions are large and the udon is very satisfying to eat. Although the curry is lighter (since its supposed to be like a udon dish), it was still very good and the curry has small pieces of chicken inside which was pretty good. The chicken katsu on the side was a good choice as usually when it's served together, the katsu gets soggy from the broth. I would recommend gomatei (either town or pearlridge location, i've never had kahala) for a quick and recently affordable bite.
