Bbq pork cold noodle salad
Rachael H.

Been wanting to try here for a bit and finally got a chance to! We did takeout so won't speak on service, but on a Friday evening, it was pretty busy inside. I walked in place my to go order and got it in 20 minutes. Inside is homey and cute and casual. I got the spicy lemongrass banh mi, bbq chicken banh mi, and bbq pork cold noodle salad. Each banh mi was less than $10, which i appreciate the price point! The bread was a bit hard, but maybe because it was later in the day. The lemongrass tofu was yummy but the bbq chicken and pork were both a bit dry, and I felt the cold noodle salad could have done with more veggies and herbs. Will have to try the pho next time! Based on what I ordered, it was average Vietnamese food.

Saigon's Restaurant in Kaimuki town.

I don't know why I took so long to come back to Saigon's, up in Kaimuki town. I have to say that I had the most wonderful Vietnamese sandwich (banh-mi) @ Saigon's. My original plans were to meet my friend - Shirley W. @ "No Name Sandwich" on 8th Ave. up Kaimuki town, but when I got there, the sandwich shop was unexpectedly closed that day, so plan "B" was Saigon's. In reality, Saigon's should have been plan "A", because the food here is fabulous, and it's reflected of the strong following this restaurant has, as the day we came here, the restaurant was packed w/folks during the lunch hour. Upon getting seated and looking over Saigon's extensive menu, I stuck with my plan on getting a Vietnamese Sandwich & got the Spicy Chicken Lemon Grass banh-mi. On the other hand, my friend changed her plans once she looked over the menu and proceeded to nix da sandwich idea. Instead, she went with the Cold Vermicelli Cold Noodles with Grilled BBQ Tofu dish. What can I say about the grub? Although my sandwich did not taste spicy at all, I must say that the marinade for my chicken sandwich was outstanding! It was one of da BESTEST Banh-Mi's I ever had, and I ain't joking. As for my friend, she said that she really enjoyed her cold noodle dish. The restaurant was clean, service here was on point, and the prices here was pretty affordable. Parking to get to this restaurant is either metered street parking, paid municipal parking, or if you're extremely lucky, neighborhood parking with a little walking involved. Lol! Looking for ono Vietnamese food? Saigon's my friends!

My fave Vietnamese restaurant! I always order the cold noodles which never disappoints! My friend ordered ban min sandwich and she said it was awesome! They've got a good amount of tables and quick service too. This was always my fave lunch spot and still is a great place to grab good food and go or dine in.

Papaya salad & tofu rolls for take out.

Mostly I do take orders. Sometimes dine in. They are always very friendly and their dishes are very good with consistent. They get so busy at times and their phone does not go through sometimes but I would recommend to anyone. Their portion is generous. Love this place!

Vermicelli, lemon grass chicken, and spring rolls.

I've been coming here for years and can't believe I never reviewed it. This is definitely a five star restaurant for Vietnamese food. We ordered the tofu and vegetable pho and vermicelli with lemon grass chicken and spring rolls. The pho's broth is tasty and portions are very generous. I believe good broth is key to a good pho. The lemon grass chicken is delicious and spring rolls nice and crispy. Most dishes are around $14 and its worth it for the quality and quantity you get. The service here has always been excellent. Whether you eat in or order takeout, they are always so accommodating and conscientious. If you're craving good Vietnamese food, Saigon's Restaurant is the place to go!!

First time here and it didn't disappoint. Parking can be a challenge, but there are many paid parking lots in Kaimuki. We came on a weekday a little after 12:00 and the restaurant was about half full. We seated ourselves and waited a few minutes for the server to come and bring waters and menus. When he returned, we decided on our lunch choices which were shrimp summer rolls, and shrimp papaya salad. Both were very delicious and affordable. Within 10 minutes after we ordered the restaurant was completely full. It seems like a very popular place. The service was good and the restaurant is clean. The next time I come, I would like to try the pho.

Today I got to try their summer rolls & shredded chicken sandwich and they were great. It really seemed like a healthy food and I really felt clean and nice after eating such healthy food. Also, the service was very friendly and helpful.

Saigon's is the best Vietnamese restaurant on the east side of town. Their attention to detail sets them apart from other restaurants. Famous for its "Pho". You have to try their rice and rice noodle dishes. Like the Pork Chops served with Vietnamese rice or the Grilled Pork Sausage served with rice paper, bean sprouts, basil , carrots, cucumbers, and their wonderful fish sauce. Service is fast, friendly, and accommodating. Dine in or take out available. The Vietnamese coffee is delicious .

I had been looking forward to eating here for months before I finally visited. I am pleased to…read morereport tasty food, great service from friendly servers, a clean bathroom, and walls brimming with beautiful paintings with scenes of Vietnam. Upon stepping foot in Phở Quê Hương, I was transported back to Vietnam (or Orange County, California-- have your pick). Phở Quê Hương is located in Honolulu's Chinatown, so we get an interesting demographic mix of diners. (I believe I observed at least one Hoa family order in Vietnamese and then converse in a Chinese language.) I wasn't so attentive to the precise linguistic profiles of my fellow diners because of how distracted I was by the food. However, it is a salient pattern I am observing in Honolulu: seeing many non-Viet people coming to eat Viet food. I know Vietnamese cuisine has become more globally mainstream, but I suppose I am so used to existing in Vietnamese ethnic enclaves. The menu offers a great selection of Vietnamese food, including dishes I had never had before. The bún chả Đà Nẵng is not at all similar to a bún chả Hà Nội, so don't get them mixed up! Bún chả Đà Nẵng was more like a bún riêu without the riêu: a nice tomato soup with a serious umami flavor going on. (I was getting notes of cheese even, in a really good way.) My first time having a non-vegetarian bò lá lốt was here. It was tasty, although I was getting a spicy note that I wasn't sure where it was coming from. The tràng đặc biệt was delicious and familiar. I always love wrapping things (amateurishly) with rice paper. The name "Phở Quê Hương" is apt, but it isn't just phở but rather all the dishes that feel like they arrived straight from Vietnam. If you are interested in more traditional Vietnamese fare, give this place a try.

I have been living in Hawaii for five years and have eaten at this restaurant countless times. But…read moreafter today, I am utterly disgusted and will never step foot in this place again. Your service is absolute garbage. This morning, I called to place an order. I initially tried using Vietnamese to order two PDBs, but the woman who answered couldn't understand me. I switched to English and asked for two "Pho Combinations." She understood that, took the order, and told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. I also wanted to order Quẩy, so I asked, "Can I get one Quẩy?" Again, she didn't understand. So I clarified in English: "Add one Chinese doughnut." Guess what her response was? She condescendingly told me, "This is a Vietnamese restaurant, not a Chinese restaurant." What the hell is your problem? On your very own menu, that item is literally listed as a "Chinese doughnut." As a server, you don't even know your own restaurant's menu, yet you have the audacity to respond to a customer with such an arrogant, rude, and racially discriminatory attitude. It's disgusting. Everyone knows you are a Vietnamese restaurant. But Quẩy is widely known as a Chinese doughnut, and that is exactly how it is written on your menu. Learn your own menu. To make matters worse, when I arrived 20 minutes later, the front desk told me my phone order hadn't even been made yet and that I had to wait. What on earth was the point of me calling ahead? It's a complete joke. If you are going to be this arrogant and rude, and if you hate Chinese culture so much, why is your restaurant located in Chinatown? Why don't you move to a Vietnamese neighborhood? This is Chinatown. This restaurant has incredibly low-quality staff and a glaring issue with discrimination. It is absurd that an employee can work here without even knowing the menu. To openly disrespect and discriminate against Chinese customers--when you are located in Chinatown and 80% of your repeat customers are Chinese--is pathetic. Take your business elsewhere.

I heard they will keep this space for special events. The restaurant is quite busy and I'm glad we had reservations. Good thing I was there prior to lunch hour opening, otherwise we may lose our reservations since the person who made reservations tends to be habitual in arriving late. We dined in May, but it's been awhile since I first dined here. I preferred dining in Chinatown during lunch time than at dinner. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. I forgot his name, but I remembered that his eyeglasses that he wore was cool/funny, since the frames for each eye didn't match the other eye! lol. Funny it wasn't me who first noticed it. One was square frame and the other was a round frame! The restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays except may write Happy Birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate that you purchase for the birthday person. Their desserts are unique and refreshing. I think there are some rotating desserts /flavors like their seasonal menu for their main menu. I guess you can always keep coming back without being bored of the menu! I was bummed to see a previous dish posted of a pasta that I wanted to try that wasn't on the current spring seasonal menu! When we dined for brunch over the weekend, I was able to get the Hainan chicken with the crispy roast pork combo. It was very filling , tasty and satisfying. I do love ginger sauce on the cold ginger chicken but sometimes the chicken is just okay. This Hainan chicken was really good and the chicken was really moist! I thought it was the best I've tried! It was good that I wanted to takeout one last time in August before they moved! No more the 50/50 combo with the crispy roast pork on the lunch menu during the weekday. It was on the spring menu. Of course it's best to eat it in the restaurant than for take out. Bathroom is a must for me when dining out and they had only one shared bathroom for everyone! There was a guy who tried to make several attempts but wasn't successful, since there was always someone in the restroom. I'm glad the waiter told me there was a bigger separate bathroom with several stalls for men and ladies upstairs. You go straight through the kitchen to catch the elevator and to another kitchen /storage area! Thank Goodness! Best wishes at your new location. You offer yummy and tasty food!

When we arrived, we were the first guests so got to pick our table. When we sat down at the pretty wooden booth, there was a happy hour menu on the table. What?!? And YAY!! There was a 2-for special on the cocktails and you could select from the full menu which featured an extravagant and eclectic selection. There were wine and beer specials too but we were here for the cocktails. From the happy hour menu, we ordered the vegan spring rolls, chicken wings, and the Bo Ne Steak--a Vietnamese breakfast with bone marrow, cubed steak, sunny side eggs and a baguette. I can vouch for the spring rolls, light and crunchy without being oily. I don't eat land animals but my friend said the wings were divine. And they give you gloves to eat them. So civilized (ha) and a nice touch! She loved the bone marrow and steak. There was so much food she didn't finish it so I took it home to the hubby who devoured it. No complaints and only smiles from him! I wanted to try a couple pescatarian dishes from the regular menu so ordered the lemongrass clams which was AH-mazing! Could have been my favorite dish of the night because the flavors were unexpected but undeniably good. And, the garlic salmon bun (vermicelli noodles) was fantastic. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was savory yet light. I've never seen this option at any other Vietnamese restaurant and it certainly elevates the traditional dish which usually comes with meat, tofu, or spring rolls. (You can still order the bun with these options and they let you choose your protein combos.) Finally, (I told you there was a lot of food) we ordered the banana blossom salad. I rarely see this offering at other Vietnamese restaurants. It's hard to describe but I refer to this dish as the red-carpet version of the green papaya salad. It's more dressed up and sophisticated. A real treat and a must-have if you're dining at An Di Dzo. Parking was easy since it's at Ward (by the theaters or you can park anywhere in the village). The restaurant is clean and modern. And the service was courteous and professional. Our server Alex was great and made the evening extra special. An Di Dzo is open for lunch and dinner. They also offer some vegan options so I'll be back. Hubby enjoyed the leftovers so much he wants to give it a dine-in try. You don't have to ask me twice! Highly recommend you give them a try, too.

The food was actually very tasty! I enjoyed everything I ate. Which kind of shocked me, being that town is more of a touristy area and I wasn't expecting to get decent pho! The restaurant is located in the Manoa Market Place shopping center on the second floor. Upon entering you see Hawaii inspired muraled walls. A large bar and some television monitors. Spring Rolls had a slightly different taste than others I've eaten. Stiill good. This restaurant is upscale so are the prices. Enjoy
