An old standby. We used to come here a lot when my office was nearby. It's a family affair, and it was always fun to see the boss mom who checked to see if you ate all your food. Was conducting some business at the Moped Garage next door, so we dropped in for lunch, not really expecting much, but we were very surprised. Very unassuming from the outside, the inside is very clean, as in extremely clean. It's very nice indeed. Service was friendly and very helpful. Food was excellent as well (see pics). Came in and it wasn't super crowded. We just sat down at an open table as the guy motioned for what seemed to be anywhere. As soon as we sat he came over with water and menus. They have a pretty extensive menu with the typical vietnamese dishes. I chose the combination pho. It came out fairly quickly and was steaming hot. The broth had a nice flavor to it and the meats were all super soft and cooked well. The serve was friendly and refilled water often. Only thing for me is the place is a little dark as the blinds are closed. First off, if you show up at 4:30 PM and it looks dark on the inside, don't worry, they are still open. The prices are really reasonable and I have to say the taste of the food did not disappoint. We ordered the summer rolls and I ordered a number 13 large - rare steak pho. My only grip is I wish the rare steak was not already put into the broth. Because essentially it wasn't rare once I got it. It was fully cooked because it was already in the broth. Nonetheless, food was delicious, service was fast and friendly. Celebrating my sister's birthday in Honolulu, Hawaii.. Eating noodles for long life was the lunch goal. There are two parking stalls right in front of the building - one regular and one for ADA placards. Residential street parking is also available - along with a small parking lot next to the building. We arrived at opening time - 10:30am - and got a chance to select our seats. The comfortable atmosphere was nicely air-conditioned, clean, and quiet. Service was polite and efficient! I ordered the Combination Tray with rice paper. It was a generous portion of grilled shrimp, BBQ pork, pickled veggies and fresh veggies, sweet sour chili dipping sauce, and a separate container of rice paper. Luckily, I've seen YouTube videos of how to moisten the rice paper, fill it, and wrap it! It was fun to make different combinations! Pho Bistro 2 provides further evidence for one of my pet theories, which is that Vietnamese restaurants with a number in their name have a high likelihood of having awesome food. We came here for dinner before our flight out of Honolulu, and wanted something that would keep us from getting too hungry over the course of a long flight but also wouldn't sit too heavy in our stomachs. It turns out that bun (vermicelli bowls) and tofu spring rolls (which they call autumn rolls here) are the perfect meal for pre-flight and anytime. The staff here are very friendly and quick, and we quickly settled on the autumn rolls and the bun with lemongrass chicken for me and the bun with tofu for my dinner buddy. The autumn rolls were excellent, the tofu was great and I like that their peanut sauce has small pieces of toasted peanuts on top. With a spoon! Which is the best way to get that delicious sauce onto your roll. The bun bowls are huge, perfectly proportioned with noodles, crisp fresh vegetables, and sauce. The toppings of both the lemongrass chicken and the tofu are also generously portioned, and some of the best I've had. Tofu clearly isn't an afterthought to them, and the lemongrass chicken is so flavorful. I don't live locally, but if I do I'd be back frequently. The pho smelled really good! read more
